Secondary electron yield suppression using millimeter-scale pillar array and explanation of the abnormal yield–energy curve

The phenomenon of secondary electron emission is of considerable interest in areas such as particle accelerators and on-board radio frequency(RF) *** secondary electron yield(TSEY) is a parameter that is frequently used to describe the secondary electron emission capability of a *** has been widely recognized that the TSEY *** electron energy curve has a single-hump ***, the TSEY–energy curve with a double-hump shape was also observed experimentally-this anomaly still lacks *** this work, we explain this anomaly with the help of a millimetre-scale(mm-scale) silver pillar array fabricated by three-dimensional(3 D) printing *** TSEY–energy curve of this pillar array as well as its flat counterpart is obtained using sample current *** measurement results show that for the considered primary electron energy(40–1500 eV), the pillar array can obviously suppress TSEY,and its TSEY–energy curve has an obvious double-hump *** Monte Carlo simulations and electron beam spot size measurements, we successfully attribute the double-hump effect to the dependence of electron beam spot size on the primary electron *** observations of this work may be of help in determining the TSEY of roughened surface with characteristic surface structures comparable to electron beam spot *** also experimentally confirms the TSEY suppression effect of pillar arrays.

目的:观察晶状体摘除术时灌注液中加入低分子肝素(LMWH)对幼年新西兰白兔术后早期前房纤维性渗出的抑制作用,了解LMWH对血-房水屏障的影响。方法:幼年新西兰白兔20只,采用随机数字表法将其随机分成两组,即实验组和对照组,每组10只,实验组在Linger液中加入浓度6IU/mL的LMWH———Clexane(克赛),对照组采用单纯Linger液前房灌注,两组均行右眼透明晶状体囊外摘除,观察术后1,3,7,14d时两组兔前房纤维性渗出、角膜水肿和前房出血情况,并应用分子荧光标准曲线法测定上述时间点的房水荧光素含量。结果:实验组术后1,3d时前房纤维性渗出明显少于对照组,两组相比差异有统计学意义(P=0.001,0.010),7d时两组前房纤维渗出相比较差异没有统计学意义(P=0.078),14d时两组前房渗出均吸收;两组角膜水肿在术后1d和3d相比,差异无统计学意义(P=0.702,0.362),7d时角膜全部透明;术后各时间点两组兔均未观察到前房出血;实验组和对照组在术后各时间点房水荧光素含量差异均无统计学意义(P=0.569,0.152,0.696,0.703)。结论:6IU/mL的LMWH前房灌注可以安全有效地抑制术后眼内纤维蛋白渗出和炎症反应,无明显毒副作用,但并不具有对血-房水屏障直接的保护作用。

Impacts of the annual cycle of background SST in the tropical Pacific on the phase and amplitude of ENSO

The dominant annual cycle of sea surface temperature(SST)in the tropical Pacific exhibits an antisymmetric mode,which explains 83.4%total variance,and serves as a background of El Niño-Southern Oscillation(ENSO).However,there is no consensus yet on its anomalous impacts on the phase and amplitude of *** on data during 1982-2022,results show that anomalies of the antisymmetric mode can affect the evolution of ENSO on the interannual scale via Bjerknes feedback,in which the positive(negative)phase of the antisymmetric mode can strengthen El Niño(La Niña)in boreal winter via an earlier(delayed)seasonal cycle transition and larger(smaller)annual *** magnitude of the SST anomalies in the equatorial eastern Pacific can reach more than±0.3◦C,regulated by the changes in the antisymmetric mode based on random sensitivity *** reveal the spatial pattern of the annual cycle associated with the seasonal phase-locking of ENSO evolution and provide new insight into the impact of the annual cycle of background SST on ENSO,which possibly carries important implications for forecasting ENSO.

Hydrogel scaffolds have numerous potential applications in the tissue engineering ***,tough hydrogel scaffolds implanted in vivo are seldom reported because it is difficult to balance biocompatibility and high mechanical *** by Chinese ramen,we propose a universal fabricating method(printing-P,training-T,cross-linking-C,PTC&PCT)for tough hydrogel scaffolds to fill this ***,3D printing fabricates a hydrogel scaffold with desired structures(P).Then,the scaffold could have extraordinarily high mechanical properties and functional surface structure by cycle mechanical training with salting-out assistance(T).Finally,the training results are fixed by photo-cross-linking processing(C).The tough gelatin hydrogel scaffolds exhibit excellent tensile strength of 6.66 MPa(622-fold untreated)and have excellent ***,this scaffold possesses functional surface structures from nanometer to micron to millimeter,which can efficiently induce directional cell ***,this strategy can produce bionic human tissue with mechanical properties of 10 kPa-10 MPa by changing the type of salt,and many hydrogels,such as gelatin and silk,could be improved with PTC or PCT *** experiments show that this scaffold can effectively promote the new generation of muscle fibers,blood vessels,and nerves within 4 weeks,prompting the rapid regeneration of large-volume muscle loss injuries.

Constraints on holographic QCD phase transitions from PTA observations

The underlying physics of QCD phase transition in the early Universe remains largely unknown due to its strong-coupling nature during the quark-gluon plasma/hadron gas transition, yet a holographic model has been proposed to quantitatively fit the lattice QCD data while with its duration of the first-order phase transition(FoPT) left undetermined. At specific baryon chemical potential, the first-order QCD phase transition agrees with the observational constraint of baryon asymmetry. It, therefore, provides a scenario for phase transition gravitational waves(GWs) within the standard model of particle physics. If these background GWs could contribute dominantly to the recently claimed common-spectrum red noise from pulsar timing array(PTA) observations, the duration of this FoPT can be well constrained, and the associated primordial black holes are still allowed by current observations.

Impact of ocean data assimilation on the seasonal forecast of the 2014/15 marine heatwave in the Northeast Pacific Ocean

A remarkable marine heatwave,known as the“Blob”,occurred in the Northeast Pacific Ocean from late 2013 to early 2016,which displayed strong warm anomalies extending from the surface to a depth of 300 *** study employed two assimilation schemes based on the global Climate Forecast System of Nanjing University of Information Science(NUIST-CFS 1.0)to investigate the impact of ocean data assimilation on the seasonal prediction of this extreme marine *** sea surface temperature(SST)nudging scheme assimilates SST only,while the deterministic ensemble Kalman filter(EnKF)scheme assimilates observations from the surface to the deep *** latter notably improves the forecasting skill for subsurface temperature anomalies,especially at the depth of 100-300 m(the lower layer),outperforming the SST nudging *** excels in predicting both horizontal and vertical heat transport in the lower layer,contributing to improved forecasts of the lower-layer warming during the *** improvements stem from the assimilation of subsurface observational data,which are important in predicting the upper-ocean *** results suggest that assimilating ocean data with the EnKF scheme significantly enhances the accuracy in predicting subsurface temperature anomalies during the Blob and offers better understanding of its underlying mechanisms.

Magnetron sputtered nickel oxide with suppressed interfacial defect states for efficient inverted perovskite solar cells

Widely used spin-coated nickle oxide （NiOx） based perovskite solar cells often suffer from severe interfacial reactions between the NiOxand adjacent perovskite layers due to surface defect states,which inherently impair device performance in a long-term view,even with surface molecule *** this study,we developed high-quality magnetron-sputtered NiOxthin films through detailed process optimization,and compared systematically sputtered and spin-coated NiOxthin film surfaces from materials to *** sputtered NiOxfilms exhibit improved crystallinity,smoother surfaces,and significantly reduced Ni3+or Ni vacancies compared to their spin-coated ***,the interface between the perovskite and sputtered NiOxfilm shows a substantially reduced density of defect *** solar cells （PSCs） fabricated with our optimally sputtered NiOxfilms achieved a high power conversion efficiency （PCE） of up to 19.93%and demonstrated enhanced stability,maintaining 86.2% efficiency during 500 h of maximum power point tracking under one standard sun ***,with the surface modification using (4-(2,7-dibromo-9,9-dimethylacridin-10（9H）-yl)butyl)p hosphonic acid （DMAcPA）,the device PCE was further promoted to 23.07%,which is the highest value reported for sputtered NiOxbased PSCs so far.

The effects of exercise interventions on brain-derived neurotrophic factor levels in children and adolescents:a meta-analysis

Brain-derived neurotrophic factor is a crucial neurotrophic factor that plays a significant role in brain health. Although the vast majority of meta-analyses have confirmed that exercise interventions can increase brain-derived neurotrophic factor levels in children and adolescents, the effects of specific types of exercise on brain-derived neurotrophic factor levels are still controversial. To address this issue, we used meta-analytic methods to quantitatively evaluate, analyze, and integrate relevant studies. Our goals were to formulate general conclusions regarding the use of exercise interventions, explore the physiological mechanisms by which exercise improves brain health and cognitive ability in children and adolescents, and provide a reliable foundation for follow-up research. We used the Pub Med, Web of Science, Science Direct, Springer, Wiley Online Library, Weipu, Wanfang, and China National Knowledge Infrastructure databases to search for randomized controlled trials examining the influences of exercise interventions on brain-derived neurotrophic factor levels in children and adolescents. The extracted data were analyzed using Review Manager 5.3. According to the inclusion criteria, we assessed randomized controlled trials in which the samples were mainly children and adolescents, and the outcome indicators were measured before and after the intervention. We excluded animal experiments, studies that lacked a control group, and those that did not report quantitative results. The mean difference(MD;before versus after intervention) was used to evaluate the effect of exercise on brain-derived neurotrophic factor levels in children and adolescents. Overall, 531 participants(60 children and 471 adolescents, 10.9–16.1 years) were included from 13 randomized controlled trials. heterogeneity was evaluated using the Q statistic and I^(2) test provided by Review Manager software.
