BACKGROUND Colon cancer(CC)occurrence and progression are considerably influenced by the tumor ***,the exact underlying regulatory mechanisms remain *** To investigate immune infiltration-related differentially expressed genes(DEGs)in CC and specifically explored the role and potential molecular mechanisms of complement factor I(CFI).METHODS Immune infiltration-associated DEGs were screened for CC using *** reverse transcription polymerase chain reaction was used to examine hub DEGs expression in the CC cell *** CFI-knockdown HT29 and HCT116 cell lines were constructed,and the diverse roles of CFI in vitro were assessed using CCK-8,5-ethynyl-2’-deoxyuridine,wound healing,and transwell *** and eosin staining and immunohistochemistry staining were employed to evaluate the influence of CFI on the tumorigenesis of CC xenograft models constructed using BALB/c male nude *** proteins associated with glycolysis and the Wnt pathway were measured using western *** Six key immune infiltration-related DEGs were screened,among which the expression of CFI,complement factor B,lymphoid enhancer binding factor 1,and SRY-related high-mobility-group box 4 was upregulated,whereas that of fatty acid-binding protein 1,and bone morphogenic protein-2 was ***,CFI could be used as a diagnostic biomarker for ***,CFI silencing inhibited CC cell proliferation,migration,invasion,and tumor ***,CFI knockdown downregulated the expression of key glycolysis-related proteins(glucose transporter type 1,hexokinase 2,lactate dehydrogenase A,and pyruvate kinase M2)and the Wnt pathway-related proteins(β-catenin and c-Myc).Further investigation indicated that CFI knockdown inhibited glycolysis in CC by blocking the Wnt/β-catenin/c-Myc *** The findings of the present study demonstrate that CFI plays a crucial role in CC development by influencing g

Objective:Nurse’s dimission and attrition are globally considered as a public health ***,few studies have focused on the nurse shortage from the perspective of intent to stay,as previous studies have focused only on why they *** purpose of this study was to conduct an integrative review of the factors connected with why nurses in China,Japan,and Korea stay in their current ***:The review was done using three databases namely CNKI,Wanfang,and Web of *** relevant studies published by Chinese,Japanese,and Koreans from 2010 were also included in this *** screening and data extraction were performed by the two researchers,and the qualitative research methods were used for ***:A total of 17 studies were analyzed in this review and of these two were qualitative and 15 were *** themes and six sub-themes emerged from the synthesization of the data of 17 studies,which will help us to find the factors for nurses’intent to *** three aspects such as professional characteristics,nurses’individual characteristics,and organizational factors are the main contributing factors of nurses’intent to ***:This integrated review has thrown some important factors about nurses’intent to *** is increasingly clear that when(1)nurses have a good professional status,(2)nurses could enjoy a good working relationship,(3)the workplace could meet the needs of personal development,and(4)nurses have good organizational support and excellent leaders,they are inclined to stay in their current *** need to adopt targeted measures to improve nurses’intent to stay and to provide a practical reference for health care institutions and managers in different countries and areas to increase the retention rate of nurses and to alleviate the current situation of nurse shortage.

Natural cellulose with the crystal form of cellulose Ⅰ, when treated with condensed lye (e.g. 18%NaOH), can change into new crystal form of cellulose Ⅱ. But the nano-crystalline cellulose (NCC) can do it when only treated with dilute lye (e.g. 1%NaOH) at room temperature and even can dissolve into slightly concentrated lye (e.g. 4%NaOH).

Analysis of the role of dihydromyricetin derived from vine tea(Ampelopsis grossedentata)on multiple myeloma by activating STAT1/RIG-I axis

Multiple myeloma(MM)is a plasma cell malignancy and remains incurable as it lacks effective curative approaches;thus,novel therapeutic strategies are desperately *** study aimed to explore the therapeutic role of dihydromyricetin(DHM)in MM and explore its *** MM and normal plasma samples,human MM cell lines,and normal plasma cells were used for in vitro *** counting kit-8(CCK-8),flow cytometry,and trans-well assays were performed for the assessment of cell viability,apoptosis,migration,and invasion,*** real-time polymerase chain reaction(qRT-PCR)was employed to assess the mRNA expression of signal transducer and activator of transcription 1(STAT1)and retinoic acid-inducible gene I(RIG-I).Western blotting was employed to assess E-cadherin,N-cadherin,signal transducer,STAT1,p-STAT1,and RIG-I protein expression.A tumor xenograft model was used for in vivo ***,dihydromyricetin(DHM)dose-dependently restrained viability,apoptosis,migration,and invasion,and facilitated apoptosis of U266 *** DHM treatment,the Ecadherin level was increased and the N-cadherin level was decreased in U266 and RPMI-8226 cells,suggesting the inhibitory effects of DHM on epithelial-mesenchymal transition(EMT)in ***,the levels of p-STAT1/STAT1 and RIG-I were down-regulated in ***,the STAT1 inhibitor fludarabine undid the suppressive effect of DMH on the malignant characteristics of U266 ***,DHM inhibited MM tumor growth and EMT,and activated STAT1/RIG-I pathway in ***,this study first revealed that DHM can restrain EMT and tumor growth in MM by activating STAT1/RIG-I signaling,which provides a novel drug for the treatment of MM.

Feedback processing in the primate brain and in AI systems

The primate brain and artificial intelligence(AI) can both be conceptualized as information processing systems, each with its own distinct biological and computational architectures. While there are parallels between them, their respective structural and functional connections show significant differences. In this paper, we examine the central role of feedback processing in both the primate brain and AI systems, which has been shown to be crucial in shaping neural processing. By reviewing the key features of feedback processes in the primate brain, which allows the brain to incorporate prior knowledge, contextual information, and taskdemands into early-stage processing, we highlight the divergence in goals and functions between biological and AI *** these differences is crucial for elucidating the cognitive capabilities of the primate brain and for addressing computational challenges in AI. In advocating “Cognition-Inspired-Computation”, we suggest that integrating insights from feedback processing in the primate brain into AI research will offer potentially significant improvements for the advancement of AI systems.

For a 2-station and 3-class reentrant line under first-buffer first-served(FBFS)service discipline in light traffic,we firstly construct the strong approximations for performance measures including the queue length,workload,busy time and idle time *** on the obtained strong approximations,we use a strong approximation method to find all the law of the iterated logarithms(LILs)for the above four performance measures,which are expressed as some functions of system parameters:means and variances of interarrival and service times,and characterize the fluctuations around their fluid approximations.

Multiscale Characteristics and Connection Mechanisms of Attraction Networks:A Trajectory Data Mining Approach Leveraging Geotagged Data

Urban tourism is considered a complex system,and multiscale exploration of the organizational patterns of attraction networks has become a topical issue in urban tourism,so exploring the multiscale characteristics and connection mechanisms of attraction networks is important for understanding the linkages between attractions and even the future destination *** paper uses geotagging data to compare the links between attractions in Beijing,China during four different periods:the pre-Olympic period(2004–2007),the Olympic Games and subsequent‘heat period’(2008–2013),the post-Olympic period(2014–2019),and the COVID-19(Corona Virus Disease 2019)pandemic period(2020–2021).The aim is to better understand the evolution and patterns of attraction networks at different scales in Beijing and to provide insights for tourism planning in the *** results show that the macro,meso-,and microscales network characteristics of attraction networks have inherent logical relationships that can explain the commonalities and differences in the development process of tourism *** macroscale attraction network degree Matthew effect is significant in the four different periods and exhibits a morphological monocentric structure,suggesting that new entrants are more likely to be associated with attractions that already have high *** mesoscale links attractions according to the common purpose of tourists,and the results of the community segmentation of the attraction networks in the four different periods suggest that the functional polycentric structure describes their clustering effect,and the weak links between clusters result from attractions bound by incomplete information and distance,and the functional polycentric structure with a generally more efficient network of *** pattern structure at the microscale reveals the topological transformation relationship of the regional collaboration pattern,and the attraction network structure in the four diff

The solving of dynamic matrix square root(DMSR)problems is frequently encountered in many scientific and engineering *** the original zeroing neural network is powerful for solving the DMSR,it cannot vanish the influence of the noise perturbations,and its constant-coefficient design scheme cannot accelerate the convergence ***,a noise-tolerate and adaptive coefficient zeroing neural network(NTACZNN)is raised to enhance the robust noise immunity performance and accelerate the conver-gence speed ***,the global convergence and robustness of the pro-posed NTACZNN are theoretically analysed under an ideal environment and noise-perturbed ***,some illustrative simulation examples are designed and performed in order to substantiate the efficacy and advantage of the NTACZNN for the DMSR problem *** with some existing ZNNs,the proposed NTACZNN possesses advanced performance in terms of noise tolerance,solution accuracy,and convergence rate.

Barium titanate(BaTiO_(3))piezoelectric ceramics with triply periodic minimal surface(TPMS)structures have been frequently used in filters,engines,artificial bones,and other fields due to their high specific surface area,high thermal stability,and good heat ***,only a limited number of studies have analyzed the effect of various parameters,such as different wall thicknesses and porosities of TPMS structures,on ceramic electromechanical *** this study,we first employed vat photopolymerization(VPP)three-dimensional(3D)printing technology to fabricate high-performance BaTiO_(3) *** investigated the slurry composition design and forming process and designed a stepwise sintering postprocessing technique to achieve a density of 96.3%and a compressive strength of 250±25 MPa,with the piezoelectric coefficient(d_(33))reaching 263 pC/***,we explored the influence of three TPMS structures,namely,diamond,gyroid,and Schwarz P,on the piezoelectric and mechanical properties of BaTiO_(3) ceramics,with the gyroid structure identified as exhibiting optimal ***,we examined the piezoelectric and mechanical properties of BaTiO_(3) ceramics with the gyroid structure of varying wall thicknesses and porosities,thus enabling the modulation of ceramic electromechanical performance.

Global-local combined features to detect pain intensity from facial expression images with attention mechanism

The estimation of pain intensity is critical for medical diagnosis and treatment of *** the development of image monitoring technology and artificial intelligence,automatic pain assessment based on facial expression and behavioral analysis shows a potential value in clinical *** paper reports a framework of convolutional neural network with global and local attention mechanism(GLA-CNN)for the effective detection of pain intensity at four-level thresholds using facial expression ***-CNN includes two modules,namely global attention network(GANet)and local attention network(LANet).LANet is responsible for extracting representative local patch features of faces,while GANet extracts whole facial features to compensate for the ignored correlative features between *** the end,the global correlational and local subtle features are fused for the final estimation of pain *** under the UNBC-McMaster Shoulder Pain database demonstrate that GLA-CNN outperforms other state-of-the-art ***,a visualization analysis is conducted to present the feature map of GLA-CNN,intuitively showing that it can extract not only local pain features but also global correlative facial *** study demonstrates that pain assessment based on facial expression is a non-invasive and feasible method,and can be employed as an auxiliary pain assessment tool in clinical practice.
