Mesenchymal stem/stromal cells(MSCs)have demonstrated therapeutic efficacy for bone regeneration in animal and clinical *** MSCs were initially thought to differentiate to various cell types to replace the injured/diseased tissue,it is now accepted that these cells secrete factors to promote tissue repair.1 Among these factors,small extracellular vesicles(sEVs)of size 50–200 nm,which include the exosomes,have been identified as the principal agent mediating the wide-ranging therapeutic efficacy of MSCs.2 Several studies have also reported the therapeutic effects of MSC-sEVs to enhance bone repair in animal models,as recently reviewed.3 However,the cellular processes and mechanisms mediated by MSC-sEVs in bone regeneration remain to be fully elucidated.

松萎蔫病是一种非常复杂的病害。据报道,松材线虫(Bursaphelenchus xylophilus)及其携带的细菌诱导了该病,但是对于细菌的的作用尚存争议。笔者筛选出杀细菌剂进行了温室和林间防治松萎蔫病的实验。利用每株3年生赤松(Pinus densiflora)注射3mg的恶喹酸,松萎蔫病防效达到71%。利用恶喹酸或阿维菌素及两者混合物对大约20年生赤松的试验表明,3种处理均显示了很高的防效。以上结果证明伴生细菌是诱导松萎蔫病的必要因素,对松萎蔫病可利用杀细菌剂或杀细菌剂与杀线剂混合物进行防控。

AIM:To investigate the survival outcomes of secondaryhepatectomy for recurrent colorectal liver metastases(CRLM).METHODS:From October 1994 to December 2009,patients with CRLM who underwent surgical treatment with curative intent were *** were divided into two groups:patients who underwent primary hepatectomy(Group 1)and those who underwent secondary hepatectomy for recurrent CRLM(Group 2).RESULTS:Survival and prognostic factors were analyzed.A total of 461 patients were included:406patients in Group 1 and 55 patients in Group *** a median 39-mo(range,3-195 mo)follow-up,there was a significant difference between Groups 1 and 2in terms of disease-free survival(P=0.029)although there was no significant difference in overall survival(P=0.206).Secondary hepatectomy was less effective in patients with multiple recurrent CRLM than primary hepatectomy for initial CRLM(P=0.008).Multiple CRLM and radiofrequency ablation therapy were poor prognostic factors of secondary hepatectomy in multivariate Cox regression analysis(P=0.006,P=0.004,respectively).CONCLUSION:Secondary hepatectomy for single recurrent CRLM is as effective as primary surgical treatment for single recurrent ***,secondary hepatectomy for multiple recurrent CRLM is less effective than that for single recurrent CRLM.

As a Programmable logic controller(PLC) is often used to implement safety-critical embedded software,rigorous safety demonstration of PLC code is *** block diagram(FBD)is a standard application programming language for the PLC and currendy being used in the development of a fully-digitalized reactor protection system(RPS),which is called IDiPS,under the Korea Nuclear Instrumentation & Control System(KNICS)***,Safety verification issue of FBD programs is a pressing problem,and hence of great importance. In this paper,we propose two methods for safety verification of FBDs as an integrated manner:Formal verification method with model checking technique and Software safety analysis(SSA) method with software fault tree analysis(SFTA) technique. Firstly,we propose a formal verification method of FBD programs;FBD programs are defined formally in compliance with IEC 61131-3,and then the programs are automatically translated into Verilog model by the supporting tool,FBD2V,which is developed to support the FBD verification framework,and finally the model is verified using Cadence SMV,and counterexamples are displayed in the form of timing graph to enhance their readability. Secondly,we propose a SFTA technique on function block diagrams as a SSA method;we define fault tree templates for each FBD function block and propose a semi-automatic FTA process to do safety analysis of FBD programs efficiently and *** proposed approach was applied to real FBD codes of KNICS RPS and it showed that it was applicable to real-world systems.

AIM:To clarify the short and long-term results and to prove the usefulness of endoscopic resection in type 3gastric neuroendocrine tumors(NETs).METHODS:Of the 119 type 3 gastric NETs diagnosed from January 1996 to September 2011,50 patients treated with endoscopic resection were enrolled in this *** endoscopic resection,endoscopic mucosal resection(EMR)or endoscopic submucosal dissection(ESD)was *** efficacy,complications,and follow-up results were evaluated ***:EMR was performed in 41 cases and ESD in 9 *** complete resection was performed in 40 cases(80.0%)and incomplete resection specimens were observed in 10 cases(7 vs 3 patients in the EMR vs ESD group,P=0.249).Upon analysis of the incomplete resection group,lateral or vertical margin invasion was found in six cases(14.6%)in the EMR group and in one case in the ESD group(11.1%).Lymphovascular invasions were observed in two cases(22.2%)in the ESD group and in one case(2.4%)in the EMR group(P=0.080).During the follow-up period(43.73;13-60 mo),there was no evidence of tumor recurrence in either the pathologically complete resection group or the incomplete resection *** recurrence was reported during *** addition,no mortality was reported in either the complete resection group or the incomplete resection group for the duration of the follow-up ***:Less than 2 cm sized confined submucosal layer type 3 gastric NET with no evidence of lymphovascular invasion,endoscopic treatment could be considered at initial treatment.

Reactive oxygen signaling regulates numerous biological processes,including stress responses in *** sensors transduce reactive oxygen signals into cellular ***,we present biochemical evidence that a plant quiescin sulfhydryl oxidase homolog(QSOX1)is a redox sensor that negatively regulates plant immunity against a bacterial *** expression level of QSOX1 is inversely correlated with pathogen-induced reactive oxygen species(ROS)***,QSOX1 both senses and regulates ROS levels by interactingn with and mediating redox regulation of S-nitrosoglutathione reductase,which,consistent with previous findings,influences reactive nitrogen-mediated regulation of ROS ***,our data indicate that QSOX1 is a redox sensorthat negatively regulates plant immunity by linking reactive oxygen and reactive nitrogen signaling to limit ROS production.

Wearable pressure sensors having versatile device structures have been extensively investigated to achieve high sensitivity under mechanical ***,we introduce piezoelectric pressure sensors based on fabrics woven using polyvinylidene fluoride(PVDF)weft and polyethylene terephthalate(PET)warp yarns with different weave structures:1/1(plain),2/2,and 3/3 weft rib *** dependence of the pressure-sensing performance on the weave pattern is demonstrated with an actual large-scale fabric up to the~2 m *** optimized pressure sensor with a 2/2 weft rib pattern produced a high sensitivity of 83 mV N−1,which was 245%higher than that of the 1/1 *** detection performance of the optimal fabric was extensively evaluated with a variety of ambient input sources,such as pressing,bending,twisting,and crumpling,as well as various human ***,a large allfabric pressure sensor with arrayed touch pixel units demonstrated highly sensitive and stable sensing performance.
