In the present study,organically modified Montmorillonite clay with polar moiety,the Cloisite 30B,is used for preparation of Hydroxyl terminated polybutadiene(HTPB)-clay nanocomposites(HCN)by dispersion of nanoclay in polymer matrix under high shear *** nanocomposites thus prepared are evaluated in composite propellants as inhibitor material for their functional *** inhibition formulations containing 5 wt%-15 wt%of nanoclay,with or without the conventional filler Sb2O3,were *** these formulations were evaluated for their physical,mechanical,thermal,and ablative *** rate and density of the compositions containing Cloisite 30B is around 23%and 5%lower respectively in comparison of the base *** capability of these compositions is twofold higher than that of base *** compositions have also been evaluated for their smoke generation tendency by measuring infra red(IR)attenuation in the wavelength range 1.3 mm e5.6 mm and 8 mme13 mm and thereby compared with the base *** corresponding results confirmed that the compositions containing Cloisite 30B as filler have much lower IR attenuation than compositions with conventional filler,*** of 5%Sb2O3 by nanoclay showed 8%reduction in IR attenuation rate which further reduced to 16%on replacement of 15%of *** bonding of HCN based inhibitors is also comparable or even better than conventional ***,the nanoclay composites with Cloisite 30B as filler exhibit all desirable properties of an inhibitor.

Beach pea or beach cowpea(Vigna marina(Burm.)Merr.)belongs to the family *** is a close relative of cultivated Vigna species such as adzuki bean(***),cowpea(***),mung bean(***),and blackgram(***),and is distributed throughout the *** its ability to tolerate salt stress,beach pea has great potential to contribute salt-tolerance genes for developing salt-tolerant cultivars in cultivated Vigna ***,it is still underutilized in Vigna breeding programs.A draft genome sequence of beach pea was generated using a high-throughput next-generation sequencing platform,yielding 23.7 Gb of sequence from 79,929,868 filtered reads.A de novo genome assembly containing 68,731 scaffolds gave an N50 length of 10,272 bp and the assembled sequences totaled 365.6 Mb.A total of 35,448 SSRs,including 3574 compound SSRs,were identified and primer pairs for most of these SSRs were *** analysis identified 50,670 genes with mean coding sequence length 1042 *** analysis revealed highest sequence similarity with ***,followed by *** with the *** genome revealed 16,699 SNPs and 2253 InDels and comparison with the *** genome revealed 17,538 SNPs and 2300 *** our knowledge this is the first draft genome sequence of beach pea derived from an accession(ANBp-14-03)adapted locally in the Andaman and Nicobar Islands of *** draft genome sequence may facilitate the genetic enhancement in cultivated Vigna species.

We investigated the compositional and structural differences in sequences derived from different fractions of wheat genomic DNA obtained using methylation filtration and Cot fractionation. Comparative analysis of these sequences revealed large compositional and structural variations in terms of GC content, different structural elements including repeat sequences （e.g., transposable elements and simple sequence repeats）, protein coding genes, and non-coding RNA genes. A correlation between methylation status [determined on the basis of selective inclusion/ exclusion in methylation-filtered （MF） library] of different repeat elements and expression level was observed. The expression levels were determined by comparing MF sequences with expressed sequence tags （ESTs） available in the public domain. Only a limited overlap among ME high Cot （HC）, and ESTs was observed, suggesting that these sequences may largely either represent the low-copy non-transcribed sequences or include genes with low expression levels. Thus, these results indicated a need to study MF and HC sequences along with ESTs to fully appreciate complexity of wheat gene space.

Anti-HBc screening in Indian blood donors:Still an unresolved issue

AIM:To study the seroprevalence of antibody to hepatitis B core antigen (anti-HBc) in healthy blood donors negative for HBsAg and to evaluate whether anti-HBc detection could be adopted in India as a screening assay for HBV in addition to HBsAg. METHODS: A total of 1700 serum samples collected from HBsAg-negative healthy blood donors were tested for the presence of anti-HBc antibody (IgM + IgG). All samples reactive for anti-HBc antibody were then investigated for presence of anti-HBs and for liver function tests (LFTs). One hundred serum samples reactive for anti-HBc were tested for HBV DNA by PCR method. RESULTS: Out of 1700 samples tested, 142 (8.4%) blood samples were found to be reactive for anti-HBc. It was signif icantly lower in voluntary (6.9%) as compared to replacement donors (10.4%, P = 0.011). Seventy- two (50.7%) anti-HBc reactive samples were also reactive for anti-HBs with levels > 10 mIU/mL and 70 (49.3%) samples were non-reactive for anti-HBs, these units were labeled as anti-HBc-only. These 142 anti-HBc reactive units were also tested for liver function test. HBV DNA was detected in only 1 of 100 samples tested. CONCLUSION: Keeping in view that 8%-18% of donor population in India is anti-HBc reactive, inclusion of anti- HBc testing will lead to high discard rate. Anti-HBs as proposed previously does not seem to predict clearance of the virus. Cost effectiveness of introducing universalanti-HBc screening and discarding large number of blood units versus considering ID NAT (Individual donor nuclic acid testing) needs to be assessed.

Objective:To evaluate the potential of Gracilaria changii extract in ameliorating the potential adverse effects of bisphenol ***:The antioxidant capacity of Gracilaria changii extracted using different solvents(methanol,ethanol,and aqueous)was *** mice were administered by oral gavage with bisphenol A(60 mg/kg body weight)for 6 weeks with or without Gracilaria changii aqueous ***,the mice were either euthanized for histology and immunohistochemistry studies or mated to evaluate the pregnancy ***:Gracilaria changii aqueous extract showed the highest antioxidant properties compared with extract using methanol and *** aqueous extract of Gracilaria changii improved the uterus index and uterine lipid peroxidation after bisphenol A exposure,although the uterine expressions of estrogen receptors and complement C3 were not *** evaluation of the uterus during the estrus stage has revealed that the extract could mitigate bisphenol A-induced adverse effects in the uterus as there was a lower percentage of mice showing abnormalities like decreased eosin staining in the myometrium,and decrease in the number of eosinophil and endometrial glands in the ***,Gracilaria changii aqueous extract improved the pregnancy rate of mice administered with bisphenol ***:Gracilaria changii extract protects against bisphenol A-induced female reproductive abnormalities in mice which may be mediated via modulation of eosinophil migration,endometrial gland formation,and protein expressions associated with prostaglandins in the myometrium.

Background:Helicobacter pylori infection has been associated with insulin resistance and non-alcoholic fatty liver disease(NAFLD).This study was done to evaluate the effect of ***-eradication therapy(HPET)in patients with NAFLD compared to standard management therapy(SMT).Methods:Eighty NAFLD patients with *** co-infection were randomized into SMT(diet and exercise,n=36)and HPET(SMT plus amoxicillin,clarithromycin,and pantoprazole,n=44)*** controlled attenuation parameter(CAP),anthropometric parameters,liver enzymes,lipid profile,and glycemic parameters including homeostasis model assessment-insulin resistance(HOMA-IR)were measured and compared between two groups at the baseline and 24 ***:Sixty-four participants(SMT group[n=28]and HPET group[n=36])were included in amodified intention-to-treat *** the SMT group and the HPET group had a significant reduction in CAP scores at 24weeks(P=0.002 and P<0.001,respectively),but the change between the groups was insignificant(P=0.213).Successful eradication of *** occurred in 68%of the HPET group and led to greater improvement in HOMA-IR at 24weeks compared to SMT or non-responder patients(P=0.007).The liver enzymes reduced significantly at 24weeks in both groups,but the changes between the groups were *** lipid parameters remained unchanged within the groups and between the groups at 24weeks.A significant increase in the levels of reduced glutathione was noted in the HPET group,but the change between the two groups was not statistically ***:HPET was found to be comparable to SMT alone in reducing hepatic steatosis and liver enzymes at 24 weeks in NAFLD ***,successful eradication of *** led to greater improvement in HOMA-IR(Trial registration CTRI/2017/05/008608).

Two novel Sn(Ⅱ) supramolecular isomeric frameworks,with the identical formula of {(NH2Me2)2[Sn(BDC)(SO4)]}n,Sn-CP-1-α(1) and Sn-CP-1-β(2)(H2BDC=terephthalic acid) were synthesized under solvothermal condition and fully characterized by single crystal X-ray diffraction(SCXRD),Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy(FTIR),ultraviolet-visible spectroscopy(UVVis),elemental analyses,and thermogravimetric analysis(TGA).Interestingly,the structures of 1 and 2 are governed by the temperature of the reaction,suggesting a temperature-induced supramolecular *** supramolecular isomers are primarily caused by the different bridging alignments of SO42–.Compounds 1 and 2 display 2 D layer and 3 D framework with different topologies,non-interpenetrated 44-sql and two-fold interpenetrated 4-connected dia topology,*** to Lewis acid properties of coordinatively unsaturated Sn(Ⅱ) sites in CPs,they have been utilized as heterogeneous catalyst for the cyanosilylation of aldehydes with an excellent conversion yield over 99% under solvent-free conditions.

Evaluating role of bone marrow-derived stem cells in dry age-related macular degeneration using multifocal electroretinogram and fundus autofluorescence imaging

AIM：To evaluate the role of bone marrow-derived stem cells in the treatment of advanced dry age-related macular degeneration（AMD）using multifocal electroretinogram（mf-ERG）and fundus autofluorescence ***：Thirty patients（60 eyes）with bilateral central geographic atrophy（GA）were *** eye of each patient received autologous bone marrow-derived hematopoietic stem cells（BM-HSCs）（group 1）and the fellow eye with better visual acuity served as control（group2）.The effect of stem cell therapy was determined in terms of visual acuity,amplitude and implicit time in mf-ERG and size of GA on fundus autofluorescence *** tests were performed at presentation and first,third and sixth month follow *** events（if any）were also ***：At 6mo follow-up there was no statistically significant improvement in median log MAR best corrected visual acuity（BCVA）in either ***-ERG revealed significant improvement in amplitude and implicit time in the intervention group.A significant decrease was also noted in greatest linear dimension（GLD）of GA in the eyes receiving stem cells[6.78±2.60 mm at baseline to 6.56±2.59 mm at 6mo（P=0.021）].However,no such improvement was noted in the control ***：Electrophysiological and anatomical improvement in the intervention group sheds light on the therapeutic role of *** studies are required to determine the stage of disease at which the maximal benefit can be achieved and to standardize the dose andfrequency of stem cell injection.
