Objective This study aimed to investigate the potential relationship between urinary metals copper(Cu),arsenic(As),strontium(Sr),barium(Ba),iron(Fe),lead(Pb)and manganese(Mn)and grip *** We used linear regression models,quantile g-computation and Bayesian kernel machine regression(BKMR)to assess the relationship between metals and grip *** In the multimetal linear regression,Cu(β=−2.119),As(β=−1.318),Sr(β=−2.480),Ba(β=0.781),Fe(β=1.130)and Mn(β=−0.404)were significantly correlated with grip strength(P<0.05).The results of the quantile g-computation showed that the risk of occurrence of grip strength reduction was−1.007(95%confidence interval:−1.362,−0.652;P<0.001)when each quartile of the mixture of the seven metals was *** kernel function regression model analysis showed that mixtures of the seven metals had a negative overall effect on grip strength,with Cu,As and Sr being negatively associated with grip strength *** the total population,potential interactions were observed between As and Mn and between Cu and Mn(P_(interactions) of 0.003 and 0.018,respectively).Conclusion In summary,this study suggests that combined exposure to metal mixtures is negatively associated with grip ***,Sr and As were negatively correlated with grip strength levels,and there were potential interactions between As and Mn and between Cu and Mn.

Objective:This cross-sectional study aimed to determine the epidemiology of olfactory and gustatory dysfunctions related to COVID-19 in ***:This study was conducted by 45 tertiary Grade-A hospitals in *** and offline questionnaire data were obtained from patients infected with COVID-19 between December 28,2022,and February 21,*** collected information included basic demographics,medical history,smoking and drinking history,vaccination history,changes in olfactory and gustatory functions before and after infection,and other postinfection symptoms,as well as the duration and improvement status of olfactory and gustatory ***:Complete questionnaires were obtained from 35,566 *** overall incidence of olfactory and taste dysfunction was 67.75%.Being female or being a cigarette smoker increased the likelihood of developing olfactory and taste *** received four doses of the vaccine or having good oral health or being a alcohol drinker decreased the risk of such *** infection,the average olfactory and taste VAS scores were 8.41 and 8.51,respectively;after infection,they decreased to 3.69 and 4.29 and recovered to 5.83 and 6.55 by the time of the *** median duration of dysosmia and dysgeusia was 15 and 12 days,respectively,with 0.5%of patients having symptoms lasting for more than 28 *** overall self-reported improvement rate was 59.16%.Recovery was higher in males,never smokers,those who received two or three vaccine doses,and those that had never experienced dental health issues,or chronic accompanying ***:The incidence of dysosmia and dysgeusia following infection with the SARS-CoV-2 virus is high in *** and prognosis are influenced by several factors,including sex,SARS-CoV-2 vaccination,history of head-facial trauma,nasal and oral health status,smoking and drinking history,and the persistence of accompanying symptoms.

Kagome materials are a class of material with a lattice structure composed of corner-sharing triangles that produce various exotic electronic phenomena,such as Dirac fermions,van Hove singularities,and flat ***,most of the known kagome materials have a flat band detached from the Fermi energy,which limits the investigation of the emergent flat band *** this work,by combining soft x-ray angle-resolved photoemission spectroscopy(ARPES)and the first-principles calculations,the electronic structure is investigated of a novel kagome metal CeNi_(5) with a clear dispersion along the kz direction and a Fermi level flat band in theΓ–K–M–Γ***,resonant ARPES experimental results indicate that the valence state of Ce ions is close to 4^(+),which is consistent with the transport measurement *** results demonstrate the unique electronic properties of CeNi_(5) as a new kagome metal and provide an ideal platform for exploring the flat band physics and the interactions between different types of flat bands by tuning the valence state of Ce ions.

The hippocampus is a brain region associated with memory,learning and spatial navigation,its aging-related dysfunction is a common sign of Alzheimer’s *** is a good model for human neurodegenerative disease,but our understanding of the regulatory program of the pig hippocampus and its cross-species conservation in humans remains ***,we profiled chromatin accessibility in 33,409 high-quality nuclei and gene expression in 8,122 high-quality nuclei of the pig hippocampus at four postnatal *** identified 510,908 accessible chromatin regions(ACRs)in 12 major cell types,among which progenitor cells such as neuroblasts and oligodendrocyte progenitor cells showed a dynamic decrease from early to later developmental *** revealed significant enrichment of transposable elements in cell type-specific ACRs,particularly in *** identified oligodendrocytes as the most prominent cell type with the greatest number of genes that showed significant changes during the *** identified ACRs and key transcription factors underlying the trajectory of neurogenesis(such as POU3F3 and EGR1)and oligodendrocyte differentiation(RXRA and FOXO6).We examined 27 Alzheimer’s disease-related genes in our data and found that 15 showed cell type-specific activity(TREM2,RIN3 and CLU),and 15 genes displayed age-associated dynamic activity(BIN1,RABEP1 and APOE).We intersected our data with human genome-wide association study results to detect neurological disease-associated cell *** present study provides a single nucleusaccessible chromatin landscape of the pig hippocampus at different developmental stages and is helpful for the exploration of pigs as a biomedical model in human neurodegenerative diseases.

Background: Cerebral ischemia-reperfusion injury(CIRI) refers to a secondary brain injury that can occur when the blood supply to the ischemic brain tissue is restored. BACKGROUND Acute-on-chronic liver disease(AoCLD)accounts for the majority of patients hospitalized in the Department of Hepatology or Infectious *** To explore the characterization of AoCLD to provide theoretical guidance for the accurate diagnosis and prognosis of *** Patients with AoCLD from the Chinese Acute-on-Chronic Liver Failure(ACLF)study cohort were included in this *** clinical characteristics and outcomes,and the 90-d survival rate associated with each clinical type of AoCLD were analyzed,using the Kaplan-Meier method and the log-rank *** A total of 3375 patients with AoCLD were enrolled,including 1679(49.7%)patients with liver cirrhosis acute decompensation(LC-AD),850(25.2%)patients with ACLF,577(17.1%)patients with chronic hepatitis acute exacer-bation(CHAE),and 269(8.0%)patients with liver cirrhosis active phase(LC-A).The most common cause of chronic liver disease(CLD)was HBV infection(71.4%).The most common precipitants of AoCLD was bacterial infection(22.8%).The 90-d mortality rates of each clinical subtype of AoCLD were 43.4%(232/535)for type-C ACLF,36.0%(36/100)for type-B ACLF,27.0%(58/215)for type-A ACLF,9.0%(151/1679)for LC-AD,3.0%(8/269)for LC-A,and 1.2%(7/577)for *** HBV infection is the main cause of CLD,and bacterial infection is the main precipitant of *** most common clinical type of AoCLD is *** diagnosis and timely intervention are needed to reduce the mortality of patients with LC-AD or ACLF.

CCCH(C3 H) Zinc finger(Znf) transcription factors(TFs), as a novel type of Znf gene, regulate the expression of genes by binding to their mRNAs and play important roles in plant growth and development and abiotic stress ***(Dimocarpous longan) is a tropical/subtropical fruit tree of great economic importance in Southeast ***, genomic information on C3 H and their functions in longan are still unknown. In this study, a comprehensive analysis of the longan C3 H(DlC3 H) gene family was carried out. A total of 49 DlC3 H genes in three clades were identified from the longan genome database. Characteristics of the genes were analyzed with respect to gene structure,motif composition, phylogenetic tree and potential functions. The analysis of alternative splicing(AS) events suggested that AS events in DlC3 H genes were related to the transformation from longan non-embryonic to embryonic *** analysis indicated that most of the DlC3 H genes included cis-acting elements associated with hormones and stresses responses. Quantitative real-time PCR(qRT-PCR) analysis indicated that 26 of the 49 DlC3 Hs, which possess methyl jasmonate(MeJA) and abscisic acid(ABA) responsive cis-acting elements, showed differential expression patterns under treatment with ABA, MeJA and their endogenous inhibitors, suggesting that DlC3 Hs might be involved in the ABA and MeJA signaling pathways. The expression profiles of 17 of the 49 DlC3 Hs in non-embryonic callus and three tissues of embryonic cultures showed that only five of the 17 DlC3 Hs had the same expression trends as the FPKM trends in transcriptome data;the expression levels of DlC3 H07/14/16/36/49 in embryogenic callus and DlC3 H04/38 in globular embryos were high, suggesting that they have different functions in embryonic development. In the Chinese ADS front-end demo superconducting radiofrequency linac(CAFe)at the Institute of Modern Physics,a burst-noise signal-triggered cavity fault frequently appears during beam *** events are characterized by a rapid burst noise in the cavity pick-up,which may lead to an unexpected low-level radiofrequency(LLRF)response that eventually causes a cavity *** eliminate the undesirable reaction of the LLRF control loop,we propose a method that uses a burstnoise detection and processing algorithm integrated into the LLRF feedback *** algorithm can prevent undesired regulations in LLRF *** analysis revealed that some burst-noise events did not exhibit measurable energy *** contrast,the other events were accompanied by a rapid loss of cavity stored energy and exhibited similarities to the‘‘E-quench’’phenomena reported in other laboratories.A particle-in-cell simulation indicated that the suspected E-quench phenomenon may be related to a plasma formation process inside the ***,the LLRF algorithm is robust to the two different types of burst-noise events and can significantly mitigate the corresponding cavity faults in CAFe beam commissioning.
