Over the past decade, graphitic carbon nitride(g-c_(3)N_(4)) has emerged as a universal photocatalyst toward various sustainable carbo-neutral technologies. Despite solar applications discrepancy, g-c_(3)N_(4) is still confronted with a general fatal issue of insufficient supply of thermodynamically active photocarriers due to its inferior solar harvesting ability and sluggish charge transfer dynamics. Fortunately, this could be significantly alleviated by the “all-in-one” defect engineering strategy, which enables a simultaneous amelioration of both textural uniqueness and intrinsic electronic band structures. To this end, we have summarized an unprecedently comprehensive discussion on defect controls including the vacancy/non-metallic dopant creation with optimized electronic band structure and electronic density, metallic doping with ultraactive coordinated environment(M–N_(x), M–c_(2)N_(2), M–O bonding), functional group grafting with optimized band structure, and promoted crystallinity with extended conjugation π system with weakened interlayered van der Waals interaction. Among them, the defect states induced by various defect types such as N vacancy, P/S/halogen dopants, and cyano group in boosting solar harvesting and accelerating photocarrier transfer have also been emphasized. More importantly, the shallow defect traps identified by femtosecond transient absorption spectra(fs-TAS) have also been highlighted. It is believed that this review would pave the way for future readers with a unique insight into a more precise defective g-c_(3)N_(4) “customization”, motivating more profound thinking and flourishing research outputs on g-c_(3)N_(4)-based photocatalysis.

Electrocatalytic nitrate reduction reaction has attracted increasing attention due to its goal of low carbon emission and environmental ***,we report an efficient NitRR catalyst composed of single Mn sites with atomically dispersed oxygen(O)coordination on bacterial cellulose-converted graphitic carbon(Mn-O-c).Evidence of the atomically dispersed Mn-(O-c_(2))_(4)moieties embedding in the exposed basal plane of carbon surface is confirmed by x-ray absorption *** a result,the as-synthesized Mn-O-c catalyst exhibits superior NitRR activity with an NH_(3)yield rate(RNH_(3))of 1476.9±62.6μg h^(−1)cm^(−2)at−0.7 V(*** hydrogen electrode,RHE)and a faradaic efficiency(FE)of 89.0±3.8%at−0.5 V(***)under ambient ***,when evaluated with a practical flow cell,Mn-O-c shows a high RNH_(3)of 3706.7±552.0μg h^(−1)cm^(−2)at a current density of 100 mA cm−2,2.5 times of that in the H *** in situ FT-IR and Raman spectroscopic studies combined with theoretical calculations indicate that the Mn-(O-c_(2))_(4)sites not only effectively inhibit the competitive hydrogen evolution reaction,but also greatly promote the adsorption and activation of nitrate(NO_(3)^(−)),thus boosting both the FE and selectivity of NH_(3)over Mn-(O-c_(2))_(4)sites.

Atropine can induce autophagy independent of the M3 muscarinic acetylcholine receptor

Background: No other effects of atropine other than as an antagonist of muscarinic acetylcholine receptor (mAchR) have been found. Methods: In this study, human kidneyepithelial cells were treated with different physiological regulators. Results: Subsequently, it was found that atropine could significantly induce autophagy as demonstrated by the appearance of autophagosome-like double- or single-membrane vesicles in the cytoplasm ofhost cells and the number of GFP-Lc3 dots. In addition, increased conversion of the autophagy marker protein Lc3-I and Lc3-II and increased p62/SQSTM1 indicatedincomplete autophagy. In addition, atropine induced autophagosome levels in a dose-dependent manner within a certain concentration range in human kidney epithelial cells. In atropine-treated mouse skeletal muscle cells containing nicotinic acetylcholinereceptors and rat cardiac muscle cells containing mAchR, atropine induced autophagy in mouse skeletal muscle cells but not in rat cardiac muscle cells. Furthermore, atropine did not induce autophagy in tissue cells containing mAchR in vivo but did in tissue cells not containing mAchR. conclusion: This study expands the application and understanding of atropine’s action mechanism in the field of medicine.

Succession of bacteria communities during production and application of dairy bedding by membrane-covered aerobic fermentation

The cost of dairy manure treatment and bedding material purchase increases the operating cost of the dairy ***-covered aerobic fermentation system has been widely used for dealing with dairy manure and recycling the final product as bedding ***,the microbial safety in each processing step is still *** better understand the bacterial community dynamics during the whole bedding conversion process,a full-chain and large-scale experiment including 16-day membrane-covered aerobic fermentation and 11-day bedding material application was *** results showed that the pile temperatures in the fermentation stage rapidly increased to 80°c and maintained>50°c for more than 11 days and the use of fermentation product as bedding material provided cows with a stable and comfortable bedding *** chao1 and Shannon index decreased at the end of the fermentation stage and remained stable in the application stage,indicating that membrane-covered aerobic fermentation effectively killed some pathogenic bacteria and guaranteed both the maturity and stability of the final *** dominant bacteria in the fermentation stage were Acinetobacter,Thermus,and Rhodothermus at genus *** common potential pathogens of mastitis(Staphylococcus,Enterococcus,Serratia,Pseudomonas,corynebacterium,Mycobacterium,and Bacillus)were found at the end of fermentation stage but the relative abundance was low(0.0025%-0.2727%).The dominant bacteria in the application stage mainly included Acinetobacter,Pseudomonas,and Flavobacterium at the genus *** relative abundance of Pseudomonas increased in the application stage,which was a reminder to the dairy farm to pay attention to the disinfection and timely replacement of bedding material to prevent the occurrence of dairy *** results of this study contributed deep understanding of the microorganism-driven bedding conversion process and provide practical guidance and cautions for the bedding

Promotion effect of epoxy group neighboring single-atom cu site on acetylene hydrochlorination

carbon materials have been used as the support for catalysts in the field of acetylene hydrochlorination,the influence of inevitable oxygen-containing moieties on the reaction is often ignored and the mechanism of the oxygen-doping structure remains ***,we explored the effect of the oxygen-containing group(c-O-c)in the support on the activity of single-atom dispersed cu *** immersing the cu single-atom catalyst in an alkaline solution,the epoxy species on the carbon support was cleaved to obtain a pure ether species while the cu site was modified to a more electron-deficient *** turnover frequency value of cu/O-FLP catalyst with epoxy groups was 1.6-fold higher than that of alkaline treated *** result indicated that the epoxy groups could assist adjacent single-atom cu sites to synergistically promote the adsorption and cleavage of the reactant hydrogen chloride toward form c-OH and cu-cl bonds,and reduce the reaction energy *** presence of electron deficient cu sites and ether species could induce competitive adsorption of the acetylene and hydrogen chloride,thereby reducing the activity of the *** study highlights the influence of surface oxygen species and the tunability of the support,providing the foundation for the fabrication of higher-activity cu catalysts for acetylene hydrochlorination.

Bone metastasis secondary to breast cancer negatively impacts patient quality of life and *** treatment of bone metastases is challenging since many anticancer drugs are not effectively delivered to the bone to exert a therapeutic *** improve the treatment efficacy,we developed Pluronic P123(P123)-based polymeric micelles dually decorated with alendronate(ALN)and cancer-specific phage protein DMPGTVLP(DP-8)for targeted drug delivery to breast cancer bone ***(DOx)was selected as the anticancer drug and was encapsulated into the hydrophobic core of the micelles with a high drug loading capacity(3.44%).The DOx-loaded polymeric micelles were spherical,123 nm in diameter on average,and exhibited a narrow size *** in vitro experiments demonstrated that a pH decrease from 7.4 to 5.0 markedly accelerated DOx *** micelles were well internalized by cultured breast cancer cells and the cell death rate of micelle-treated breast cancer cells was increased compared to that of free DOx-treated *** binding of the micelles to hydroxyapatite(HA)microparticles indicated their high affinity for bone.P123-ALN/DP-8@DOx inhibited tumor growth and reduced bone resorption in a 3D cancer bone metastasis *** vivo experiments using a breast cancer bone metastasis nude model demonstrated increased accumulation of the micelles in the tumor region and considerable antitumor activity with no organ-specific histological damage and minimal systemic *** conclusion,our study provided strong evidence that these pH-sensitive dual ligand-targeted polymeric micelles may be a successful treatment strategy for breast cancer bone metastasis.

Dempster Shafer distance-based multi-classifier fusion method for pig cough recognition

High precision pig cough recognition and low computational cost is of great importance for the realization of early warning of pig respiratory *** researchers have improved the recognition rate of pig cough sounds to a certain extent from feature selection and feature fusion ***,there is still a margin for the improvement in the accuracy and complexity of existing ***,it is challenging to further enhance the precision of a single ***,this study proposed a multi-classifier fusion strategy based on Dempster Shafer distance(DS-distance)algorithm to increase the classification *** the engineering implementation,the machine learning with low computational complexity for fusion was ***,three metrics of accuracy and diversity between classifiers were defined,including overall accuracy(OA),double fault(DF),and overall accuracy and double fault(OADF),for selecting the base ***,a two-step base classifier selection approach based on these metrics was proposed to make an optimized selection of features and ***,the proposed DS-distance algorithm was used to fuse the selected base classifiers to create a *** sound data collected in the pig barn verified the proposed *** experimental results revealed that the overall recognition accuracy of the proposed method could reach 98.76%,which was better than the existing *** study has achieved a high recognition accuracy through ensembled machine learning with low computational *** proposed method provided an efficient way for the quick establishment of high precision pig cough recognition model in practice.

Heyingwuzi formulation alleviates diabetic retinopathy by promoting mitophagy via the HIF-1α/BNIP3/NIx axis
