Influence of different magnetic forces on the effect of colonic anastomosis in rats

BACKGROUND Despite much work having been conducted on magnetic compression anastomo-sis(MCA)in the digestive tract,there are no reports on the influence of magnetic force on the *** To investigate the effect of different magnetic force magnets on the MCA of the digestive *** Two groups of magnets of the same sizes but different magnetic forces were designed and produced.A total of 24 Sprague-Dawley rats were randomly assigned into two groups(powerful magnet group and common magnet group),with 12 rats in each *** types of magnets were used to complete the colonic side-to-side anastomosis of the *** operation time and magnet discharge time were *** anastomotic specimens were obtained 4 wk after the operation and then the burst pressure and diameter of the anastomosis were measured,and the anastomosis was observed via the naked eye and subjected to histological *** The magnetic forces of the powerful and common magnet groups at zero distance were 8.26 N and 4.10 N,*** colonic side-to-side anastomosis was completed in all 24 rats,and the operation success rate and postoperative survival rate were 100%.No significant difference was noted in the operation time between the two *** magnet discharge time of the powerful magnet group was slightly longer than that of the common magnet group,but the difference was not statistically significant(P=0.513).Furthermore,there was no statistical difference in the burst pressure(P=0.266)or diameter of magnetic anastomosis(P=0.095)between the two *** gross specimens of the two groups showed good anastomotic healing,and histological observation indicated good mucosal continuity without differences on *** In the rat colonic side-to-side MCA model,both the powerful magnet with 8.26 N and the common magnet with 4.10 N showed no significant impact on the anastomosis establishment process or its effect.

Evaluation of water management on arsenic methylation and volatilization in arsenic-contaminated soils strengthened by bioaugmentation and biostimulation

Arsenic(As) fate in paddy fields has been one of the most significant current issues due to the strong As accumulation potential of rice plants under fooded conditions. However,no attempt was done to explore As methylation and volatilization under non-fooded conditions. Herein, we investigated the effects of water management on As methylation and volatilization in three arsenic-contaminated soils enhanced by biostimulation with strawderived organic matter and bioaugmentation with genetic engineered Pseudomonas putida KT2440(GE P. putida). Under fooded conditions, the application of biochar(BC), rice straw(RS)and their combination(BC+RS) increased total As in porewater. However, these effects were greatly attenuated under non-fooded conditions. Compared with RS amendment alone, the combination of GE P. putida and RS further promoted the As methylation and volatilization,and the promotion percentage under non-fooded conditions were significantly higher than that under fooded conditions. The combined GE P. putida and RS showed the highest efficiency in As methylation(88 μg/L) and volatilization(415.4 μg/(kg·year)) in the non-fooded soil with moderate As contamination. Finally, stepwise multiple linear regression analysis presented that methylated As, DOC and p H in porewater were the most important factors contributing to As volatilization. Overall, our findings suggest that combination of bioaugmentation with GE P. putida and biostimulation with RS/BC+RS is a potential strategy for bioremediation of arsenic-contaminated soils by enhancing As methylation and volatilization under non-fooded conditions.

Perchlorate and chlorate are present in various extraterrestrial celestial bodies throughout the solar system,such as Mars,the moon,and *** date,the origin mechanisms of perchlorate and chlorate on the Martian surface have been well-established;however,relatively little attention has been cast to airless ***,we experimentally investigated the potential oxidation mechanisms of chloride to chlorate and perchlorate,such as ultraviolet irradiation under H_(2)O-and O_(2)-free conditions and mechanical pulverization *** minerals,olivine,pyroxene,ilmenite,magnetite,TiO_(2)and anhydrous ferric sulfate,and lunar regolith simulants(low Ti,CLRS-1;high-Ti,CLRS-2)and their metallic iron(Fe^( 0))bearing counterparts were *** found that pulverization of dry matrix material-halite mixtures,even in the presence of O_(2),does not necessarily lead to perchlorate and chlorate formation without involving *** photocatalytic and H_(2)O and O_(2)-free conditions,olivine and pyroxene can produce oxychlorine(ClO_(x)^(−))species,although the yields were orders of magnitude lower than those under Martian-relevant ***-Fe^(0)particles in the lunar regolith and the common photocatalyst TiO_(2)can facilitate the ClO_(x)^(−)formation,but their yields were lower than those with *** oxides ilmenite and magnetite did not efficiently contribute to ClO_(x)^(−)*** results highlight the critical role of H_(2)O in the oxidation chloride to chlorate and perchlorate,and provide essential insights into the environmental influence on the formation of oxychlorine species on different celestial bodies.

The Silurian palaeontology and stratigraphy of the Qinghai-Tibetan Plateau have been studied for more than100 *** the launch of the Second Tibetan Plateau Scientific Expedition and Research,it is necessary to update the summaries of the Silurian stratigraphy and fossil assemblages of the Qinghai-Tibetan Plateau and their correlation with its surrounding *** this study,we have selected 33 sections from the Qinghai-Tibetan Plateau and its surroundings areas,summarised the available data in terms of stratigraphic regionalisation,lithostratigraphy,chronostratigraphy,and biostratigraphy,and divided the study area into four stratigraphic provinces:the Xizang-Western Yunnan-Western Sichuan Province,the KunlunQilian Province,the South China Province,and the Tarim *** general,the Silurian strata in the Qinghai-Tibetan Plateau is more complete than those in other areas of *** studies of the vertebrate faunas,sporomorph assemblages,and brachiopod faunas of the study area indicate a closer geographical relationship between the South China,Tarim,and Indochina palaeoplates,than previously *** with the surrounding areas where Silurian strata have been extensively studied,the study of Silurian strata in the main part of the Qinghai-Tibetan Plateau is still in the preliminary *** the future,it is necessary to conduct research on the age,distribution,and resource potential of basal Silurian black shales to provide new directions for shale gas exploration and development in *** shallow marine strata of the middle to upper Silurian require further *** that the Silurian System in the Qinghai-Tibetan Plateau is more complete,it has the potential to supplement and improve the study of the carbon isotope stratigraphy of the Silurian in China.

●Multiple evanescent white dot syndrome(MEWDS)is a rare fundus disease,characterized by acute vision loss and visual field *** previous studies have explained the possible pathogenesis and clinical features of primary ***,as the number of reported cases increases,secondary MEWDS occurs in other related retinal diseases and injuries,exhibiting some special *** associated retinal diseases include multifocal choroiditis/punctate inner choroidopathy(MFC/PIC),acute zonal occult outer retinopathy,best vitelliform macular dystrophy,pseudoxanthoma elasticum,and ocular *** related retinal injury is laser photocoagulation,surgery,and *** primary MEWDS often have a self-limiting course,secondary MEWDS may require treatment in some cases,according to the severity of concomitant diseases and ***,MEWDS secondary to MFC/PIC that is prone to forming choroidal neovascularization and focal choroidal excavation,needs positive treatment with *** possible underlying pathogenesis of secondary MEWDS is the exposure of choroidal antigen after the disruption of Bruch’s *** MEWDS-related features in secondary MEWDS are still evanescent under most *** prognosis and treatment depend on the severity of *** studies propose that the etiology is associated with immune factors,including viral infection,inflammation in choroid and Bruch’s membrane,and antigen exposure caused by retinal and/or choroidal *** pathogenic studies should be conducted in the *** diagnosis for secondary MEWDS could benefit patients in aspects of management and prognosis.

Y–Z deformable magnetic ring for the treatment of rectal stricture: A case report and review of literature

BACKGROUND Treatment of postoperative anastomotic stenosis for colorectal cancer is often challenging,especially for patients who do not respond well to *** cases where patients have undergone an enterostomy,the stenosis can be easily resolved through magnetic ***,common magnetic compre-ssion techniques cannot be performed on those without *** design-ed a novel Y–Z deformable magnetic ring(Y–Z DMR)and successfully applied it to a patient with a stenosis rectal anastomosis and without enterostomy after rectal cancer *** SUMMARY We here report the case of a 57-year-old woman who had undergone a laparo-scopic radical rectum resection(Dixon)for rectal ***,she started facing difficulty in defecation 6 months after *** colonoscopy indicated stenosis of the rectal *** balloon dilation was performed six times on ***,the stenosis still showed a trend of gradual *** the patient did not undergo an enterostomy,the conventional endoscopic magnetic compression technique could not be ***,we imple-mented a Y–Z DMR implemented through the anus under single *** magnetic ring fell off nine days after the operation and the rectal stenosis was *** patient was followed up for six months and reported good *** The Y–Z DMR deformable magnetic ring is an excellent treatment strategy for patients with rectal stenosis and without enterostomy.

Traditional carbon fiber-reinforced polymers based on thermoset matrix have been extensively used in the fields of wind turbine blades,automotive sector,and aerospace,among many ***,there is still a major challenge of recycling those polymers due to the high cost and adverse impacts on the *** this work,we apply a polyimine network as matrix,which possess considerable tensile and thermal properties,to prepare the carbon fiber reinforced polyimine materials with trifluoromethyl diphenoxybenzene units(CFRFP)using a prepreg-based compression molding *** CFRFP can be reshaped or reprocessed by heat or with water rapidly,and exhibited multifunction,including welding,chemical recycling,*** unique findings gained from our study will facilitate the manufacturing capability and enrich the types of fiber-reinforced composites.

Recovery of scandium from silicate minerals by high-pressure leaching in sulfuric acid

This study investigated the leaching of scandium from a Sc-bearing silicate *** Sc concentrate obtained by beneficiation pre-enrichment has 1.03×10^(−4) wt%Sc and 14.66 wt%*** main Sc-bearing minerals are limonite,chlorite,sericite,and hornblende,in the form of ***-pressure leaching(HPL)with sulfuric acid(98 wt%)and NaF was used to dispose this *** Sc leaching efficiency of 91.82%was obtained under the optimum conditions,which are pressure of 5.0×10^(5) Pa,A/O value of 1.1,L/S value of 1.8,NaF dosage of 2 wt%,at 130℃ for 6 *** X-ray diffraction(XRD)and scanning electron microscopy(SEM)results show that the residue is mainly quartz phase in the multihole *** with ordinary leaching for silicate,high-pressure leaching has significant advantages in saving acid and energy consumption.

With the increasing demand for high energy density energy storage device,Li metal has received intensive attention for its ultrahigh capacity and the lowest redox ***_(3)is widely used as electrolyte additive for ether electrolyte,which can improve the cycle performance of Li metal *** to ethers,carbonates are more suitable for Li metal batteries with high voltage cathode because they have a wider electrochemical ***,LiNO_(3)performs poor solubility in carbonate electrolyte,restricting its application in high voltage Li ***,we presented a facile method to introduce abundant LiNO_(3)additive to carbonate electrolyte system by introducing LiNO_(3)-PAN es as the interlayer of the ***_(3)-PAN es is in sufficient contact with the electrolyte so that it can continuously releases LiNO_(3)to assist the formation of Li_(2)N_(2)O_(2)-rich single nitrogenous component SEI layer on Li *** the help of LiNO_(3)-PAN es,Li metal anode shows excellent cycle stability even at a high current density of 4mA/cm^(2),so that the cycle performance of the full cells was significantly improved,whether in the anode-free Cu||LFP cell or the Li||NCM622 cell.
