Experimental Study on Mixed-Mode(Ⅰ–Ⅱ)Fracture Toughness of Freshwater Ice

In recent years,the issue of aircraft icing has gained widespread *** breaking and detachment of dynamic ice can pose a threat to flight ***,the shedding and fracture mechanisms of dynamic ice are unclear and cannot meet the engineering needs of ice-shedding hazard ***,studying the fracture toughness of ice bodies has extremely important practical *** address this issue,this article uses a centrally cracked Brazilian disk(CCBD)specimen to measure the pure modeⅠtoughness and pure modeⅡfracture toughness of freshwater ice at different loading *** mixed-mode(Ⅰ–Ⅱ)fracture characteristics of ice are discussed,and the experimental results are compared and analyzed with the theoretical values of the generalized maximum tangential stress(GMTS)criterion considering the influence of *** results indicated that as the loading rate increases,the pure modeⅠtoughness and pure modeⅡfracture toughness of freshwater ice decrease,and the fracture toughness of freshwater ice is more sensitive to the loading rate.Ⅰn terms of fracture criteria,the theoretical value of the ratio of pure modeⅡfracture toughness to pure modeⅠfracture toughness based on the GMTS criterion is in good agreement with the experimental value,while the theoretical value based on the maximum tangential stress(MTS)criterion deviates significantly from the experimental value,indicating that the GMTS criterion considering the influence of T-stress can better predict the experimental results.

Isocyanide-Based One-Pot Cascade Synthesis of 3-Acyl Isoindolinones

A series of 3-acyl-substituted isoindolinone derivatives were synthesized in a one-pot manner via the reaction of o-bromobenzaldehydes,isocyanides,and carboxylic acids in the presence of palladium catalyst and base. The reaction employing easily available starting materials features simple operation and high efficiency. The mechanistic study showed that the reaction might undergo 1) Pd-catalyzed [3+2] cyclization of o-bromobenzaldehyde with isocyanide and the re-insertion of another molecule of isocyanide,2) addition of carboxylic acid to in situ formed ketenimine followed by a rearrangement relay to give 3,3-diacyl-substituted isoindolinone derivative. Further transformations of the obtained products through decarbonylation could also be realized.

Simultaneous removal of sulfur dioxide and nitrogen oxide from flue gas by phosphorus sludge:The performance and absorption mechanism

Developing low-cost and green simultaneous desulfurization and denitrification technologies is of great significance for sulfur dioxide(SO_(2))and nitrogen oxide(NO_(x))emission control at low temperatures,especially for small and medium-sized coal-fired boilers and ***,phosphorus sludge,an industrial waste from the production process of yellow phosphorus,has been developed to simultaneously eliminate SO_(2)and NO_(x)from coal-fired flue *** key factors affecting the experimental results indicate that desulfurization and denitrification efficiency of over 95%can be achieved at a low temperature of 55℃.Further,the absorption mechanism was investigated by characterizing the solid and liquid phases of the phosphorus sludge during the absorption *** efficient removal of SO_(2)is attributed to the abundance of iron(Fe^(3+))and manganese(Mn^(2+))in the ***_(2)can be rapidly catalyzed and converted to SO_(4)^(2-)by *** key to NOx removal is the oxidation of NO toward watersoluble high-valent nitrogen oxides by oxidizing reactive substances induced via yellow phosphorus,which are then absorbed by water and converted to NO_(3)^(-).Meanwhile,yellow phosphorus is oxidized to phosphoric acid(H_(3)PO_(4)).The spent absorption slurry can be reused through wet process phosphoric acid production,as it contains sulfuric acid(H_(2)SO_(4)),nitric acid(HNO_(3)),and H_(3)PO_(4).Accordingly,this is a technology with broad application prospects.

Learnable digital signal processing:a new benchmark of linearity compensation for optical fiber communications

The surge in interest regarding the next generation of optical fiber transmission has stimulated the development of digital signal processing(DSP)schemes that are highly cost-effective with both high performance and low *** benchmarks for nonlinear compensation methods,however,traditional DSP designed with block-by-block modules for linear compensations,could exhibit residual linear effects after compensation,limiting the nonlinear compensation *** we propose a high-efficient design thought for DSP based on the learnable perspectivity,called learnable DSP(LDSP).LDSP reuses the traditional DSP modules,regarding the whole DSP as a deep learning framework and optimizing the DSP parameters adaptively based on backpropagation algorithm from a global *** method not only establishes new standards in linear DSP performance but also serves as a critical benchmark for nonlinear DSP *** comparison to traditional DSP with hyperparameter optimization,a notable enhancement of approximately 1.21 dB in the Q factor for 400 Gb/s signal after 1600 km fiber transmission is experimentally demonstrated by combining LDSP and perturbation-based nonlinear compensation *** from the learnable model,LDSP can learn the best configuration adaptively with low complexity,reducing dependence on initial *** proposed approach implements a symbol-rate DSP with a small bit error rate(BER)cost in exchange for a 48%complexity reduction compared to the conventional 2 samples/symbol *** believe that LDSP represents a new and highly efficient paradigm for DSP design,which is poised to attract considerable attention across various domains of optical communications.

Satellite glial cells in sensory ganglia play a wider role in chronic pain via multiple mechanisms

Theoretical insights into thermal transport and structural stability mechanisms of triaxial compressed methane hydrate

The heat transfer and stability of methane hydrate in reservoirs have a direct impact on the drilling and production efficiency of hydrate resources,especially in complex stress environments caused by formation *** this study,we investigated the thermal transport and structural stability of methane hydrate under triaxial compression using molecular dynamics *** results suggest that the thermal conductivity of methane hydrate increases with increasing compression *** phonon transport mechanisms were identified as factors enhancing thermal *** low compressive strains,a low-frequency phonon transport channel was established due to the overlap of phonon vibration peaks between methane and water *** high compressive strains,the filling of larger phonon bandgaps facilitated the opening of more phonon transport ***,we found that a strain of􀀀0.04 is a watershed point,where methane hydrate transitions from stable to ***,a strain of􀀀0.06 marks the threshold at which the diffusion capacities of methane and water molecules are at their *** a higher strain of􀀀0.08,the increased volume compression reduces the available space,limiting the diffusion ability of water and methane molecules within the *** synergistic effect of the strong diffusion ability and high probability of collision between atoms increases the thermal conductivity of hydrates during the unstable period compared to the stable *** findings offer valuable theoretical insights into the thermal conductivity and stability of methane hydrates in reservoir stress environments.

For all-solid-state lithium batteries(ASSLBs),polymer-blended solid composite electrolytes(SCEs)have drawn wide interest owing to their significance in improving the interfacial solid-solid contacts and inhibiting the growth of lithium *** this work,SCEs based on PVDF-HFP/PMMA matrix containing MOFs(NH2-MIL-53(Al))and LiTFSI were designed and synthesized employing an easy solution casting *** synthesized samples were examined by XRD,SEM,EDS,and electrochemical *** was found that MPP-2 SCE not only has excellent ionic conductivity at 60℃ of 5.54×10^(−4) S cm^(−1),but also exhibits superior interfacial compatibility in Li||Li symmetric batteries,which can constantly cycle for about 800 h at 0.1 mA cm^(−2) with no *** assembled Li|MPP-2|LiFePO4 cell exhibited a first discharge specific capacity of up to 157.1 mAh g^(−1) at 60℃ and 0.2 *** work may help to further advance the progress of ASSLBs in the future.

Design study of charge-stripping scheme of heavy ion beams for HIAF-BRing

Charge strippers play an essential role in heavy-ion accelerators by stripping the projectile ions to higher charge states to enhance the acceleration efficiency downstream of the *** the high-energy mode of the booster ring(BRing)of the high-intensity heavy-ion accelerator facility,the pre-accelerated ions from the iLinac will be stripped by a carbon foil to higher charge states and then injected into the *** key parameters of the stripper and stripped ions were calculated,and the influence of stripping on the beam quality was *** get high stripping efficiencies,the foil thicknesses and resultant charge state distributions for the typical ions were determined by the code *** equilibrium thickness was obtained for the U beam,while the stripper thicknesses for the Xe and Kr beams were determined based on a compromise between the stripped charge states and the stripping *** energy loss,energy straggling,and emittance growth due to stripping have a non-negligible impact on the transport of the stripped beams and the injection of the ***,these parameters were simulated by *** addition,the foil’s temperature evolution,which greatly affects the foil lifetime,was simulated by *** maximum temperature of the foil bombarded by the U and Xe beams with the nominal parameters will exceed the safe value in terms of the impact of evaporation on the foil’s *** the foil temperature constraint,the highest tolerable beam intensity and the injected ion number into the ring were derived for different beam *** results of this paper will present important reference data for the optimization design and commissioning of the beamline and injection to the BRing for the stripped ions.
