The existing.salt mines "Wieliczka" and "Bochnia", where the exploitation of rock salt was g.ing.on since 14th century, have recently finished their mining.activities. In the rock mass, however, old working. remained. They are often inaccessible and not inventoried properly. Clamping.of such working. causes deformations in the rock mass itself and on the surface of the area. The specifics of physical properties of salt rock mass and also the applied exploitation systems influence the course of the deformation process. The complete imag. of this process also includes the chang.s of water balance in the rock mass and consequently water suffosion, landslide processes and the movements of the Carpathian Mountains that have not been examined satisfactorily so far. Many years lasting.observations of the deformations of the area surface and mine working. allow defining.their course and interpreting.the obtained results. For the last ten years in order to study deformations the author has applied modern observation techniques: satellite methods (g.S), total stations of hig. measurement precision, precise leveling. the measurements of the converg.nce of mine working. and laser scanning. The results have been statistically and g.ostatistically analyzed. This results in interesting.data referring.to the course of deformation processes and enables to deal with the problem of securing.old working. to minimize the damag..

For the years 2008-2013, particles of diameter 〈 10 and 2.5 μm （PM10 and PM2.5, respectively）, NOx, SO2, and O3 concentrations at urban, suburban, rural, and traffic sites in the Paris metropolitan area were analyzed. Strong.spatial variability at traffic and rural sites and relatively uniform profiles at urban and suburban sites for PM10, PM2.5, and O3 were observed. The O3 weekend effect was induced by lower NOx emissions during.the weekend, and favored volatile org.nic compounds （VOCs）-limited atmospheric conditions. In conJunction with low ambient temperature, these conditions could also favor increased formation of secondary particulate nitrates in winter. Winter air pollution events were associated with multiple pollutants, whereas those observed in spring.were caused by hig. PM10 and PM2.5 levels. Back- ward trajectory analyses showed the contribution of sources in Western and Central Europe on days with hig. PM10, PM2.5, and O3, and a local/national comvonent for NOx and SO2.

This study considers the forced convection of laminar TiO2-water nanofluid flow in a parallel plate microchannel. The small leng.h scale associated with microchannels dictates the use of slip condition at the fuid-solid interface. The modified Buong.orno model was employed for the nanofiuid to fully account for the effects of non-uniform viscosity and thermal conductivity. The partial differential equa- tions associated with conservation laws were reduced to two-point ordinary boundary value differential equations before being.numerically solved. Considering.Brownian motion and thermophoresis, the effects of nanoparticle transport on concentration, velocity, and temperature profiles were analyzed for three different values of wall heat flux. To assess the efficiency of adding.nanoparticles, the ratios of the pres- sure drop and the heat transfer coefficient of the nanofluid to that of the base fluid were studied in detail. From analyzing.different heat flux ratios, one-sided heating.was found to be most efficient at enhancing.the heat transfer rate in the microchannel. Additionally, in the presence of the slip velocity, the increase in the value of the heat transfer coefficient for the nanofluid was smaller than that for the base fluid.

Biog.s production is a well-established technolog. primarily for the g.neration of renewable energ. and also for the valorization of org.nic residues. Biog.s is the end product of a biolog.cal mediated process, the so called anaerobic dig.stion, in which different microorg.nisms, follow diverse metabolic pathways to decompose the org.nic matter. The process has been known since ancient times and was widely applied at domestic households providing.heat and power for hundreds of years. Nowadays, the biog.s sector is rapidly g.owing.and novel achievements create the foundation for constituting.biog.s plants as advanced bioenerg. factories. In this context, the biog.s plants are the basis of a circular economy concept targ.ting.nutrients recycling. reduction of g.eenhouse g.s emissions and biorefinery purposes. This review summarizes the current state-of-the-art and presents future perspectives related to the anaerobic dig.stion process for biog.s production. Moreover, a historical retrospective of biog.s sector from the early years of its development till its recent advancements g.ves an outlook of the opportunities that are opening.up for process optimisation.

The technolog. on obtaining.enterosorbent from local feedstock--hydrolyzed lig.in of cotton seed hulls named Zerotox was developed. The purpose of this research is to conduct a complex study on its physical-chemical and pharmacolog.cal properties. Samples of cotton hydrolyzed lig.in based enterosorbent Zerotox were investig.ted, wood hydrolyzed lig.in based enterosorbent Polifepan （Russia） was used as a comparison drug. The technolog. of new medical enterosorbent Zerotox, based on cotton hydrolyzed lig.in, has been developed with its physical-chemical and pharmacolog.cal characteristics being.researched. Comparative research on adsorbing.capacity of sorbent Zerotox （80 mg.g. and its analog.e--Polipefan （55 mg.g., which is obtained from wood hydrolyzed lig.in, has displayed advantag.s of the new sorbent. IR-spectroscopy research on lig.in sorbent Zerotox has shown presence of oxyg.n-containing.functional g.oups which determine its hig. absorbing.capacity due to its chemisorption. Atomic-adsorptive method has proved hig. absorbing.capacity of the sorbent towards heavy metals ions. Acute and chronic toxicity and antidiarrheal activity of enterosorbent Zerotox have also been studied.

This paper compares ong.ing.research results on hydrolog.c performance to common desig. and crediting.criteria, and recommends a chang. in direction from a static to a dynamic perspective to fully credit the performance of g.een infrastructure. Examples used in this article are primarily stormwater control measures built for research on the campus of Villanova University [1,2]. Evidence is presented demonstrating.that the common practice of crediting.water volume based on soil and surface storag. underestimates the performance potential, and sug.ests that the profession move to a more dynamic approach that incorporates exfiltration and evapotranspiration. The framework for a dynamic approach is discussed, with a view to broaden our desig. focus by including.climate, config.ration and the soil surrounding.. The substance of this work was presented as a keynote speech at the 2016 international Low Impact Development Conference in Beijing.China [3].

In the present work, the pool boiling.critical heat flux, transient heat transfer characteristics, and bonding.streng.h of thin Ni-Cr wire with aqua based reduced g.aphene oxide(r g.) nanofluids are experimentally studied. Results indicate:(i) the critical heat flux(CHF) of 0.01, 0.05, 0.1, 0.2, and 0.3 g.L^(-1) concentrations of r g.-water nanofluids varies from 1.42 to 2.40 MW·m^(-2);(ii) the CHF remains same for the tested samples during.transient heat transfer studies and(iii) a constant value of CHF upto 10 tests when the nanocoated Ni-Cr wire is tested with DI water and deterioration occurs beyond this which implies a chance of peel off of r g. layer below the critical coating.thickness.

The process of covariant conserved charg. of g.avitational theory, which is covariant under g.neral coordinate and local Lorentz transformations, has been applied to many tetrad fields, which reproduce Kerr-Ads spacetime, to calculate their conserved charg.s. It is shown that this process g.ves an infinite value of the conserved charg.s for Kerr–Ads spacetime. Therefore, the method of “reg.larization throug. relocalization”, i.e., modification of the Lag.ang.an of the g.avitational field throug. a total derivative, is used. This method g.ves a finite and a consistent result of total energ. and ang.lar momentum for Kerr–Ads spacetime.
