Nonnegative Matrix Factorization(NMF)is one of the most popular feature learning technologies in the field of machine learning and pattern recognition.It has been widely used and studied in the multi-view clustering tasks because of its effectiveness.This study proposes a general semi-supervised multi-view nonnegative matrix factorization algorithm.This algorithm incorporates discriminative and geometric information on data to learn a better-fused representation,and adopts a feature normalizing strategy to align the different views.Two specific implementations of this algorithm are developed to validate the effectiveness of the proposed framework:Graph regularization based Discriminatively Constrained Multi-View Nonnegative Matrix Factorization(GDCMVNMF)and Extended Multi-View Constrained Nonnegative Matrix Factorization(ExMVCNMF).The intrinsic connection between these two specific implementations is discussed,and the optimization based on multiply update rules is presented.Experiments on six datasets show that the effectiveness of GDCMVNMF and ExMVCNMF outperforms several representative unsupervised and semi-supervised multi-view NMF approaches.

This study aims to develop a reliable safety evaluation model for diverging vehicles and investigates the impact of the surrounding traffic environment on freeway diverging risks.High-resolution trajectory data from three sites in the Netherlands(Delft,Ter-Heide and Zonzeel)were employed for the risk analysis.linear regression(LR),support vector machine(SVM),random forest(RF),extreme randomize trees(ET),adaptive boosting(Adaboost),extreme gradient boosting(XGboost)and multilayer perceptron(MLP),were developed for safety evaluation.The result showed that MLP outperforms the other models for diverging risk prediction over all the indicators,conflict thresholds and locations.Pairwise matrix,shapely addictive explanation(SHAP),and LR algorithms were further adopted to interpret the influence of the surrounding environment.It indicates that an increase in traffic density,subject vehicle(SV)lateral speed,the distance of SV from ramp nose and SV length would increase the diverging risk.At the same time,an increase in leading vehicle speed and space headway would decrease diverging risk.Finally,spatial analysis was also conducted to explore the stability of identified traffic features regarding the impact on the diverging risk across the sites.

Ferroptosis is a novel form of regulated cell death characterized by iron-dependent excessive lipid peroxidation.The core organelle involved in ferroptosis is mitochondria.Mito-chondria undergoing ferroptosis are distinct from normal mitochondria in terms of morphology,biochemistry,gene expression,and energy metabolism.An increasing number of studies have shown that mitochondria and their associated metabolic pathways mediate ferroptosis in the development and progression of breast cancer.In this review,we discuss the relevant research about ferroptosis in breast cancer and provide a comprehensive summary of mitochondrial regulation in ferroptosis from the perspective of lipid metabolism,oxidative phosphorylation,ion metabolism,glycometabolism,and nucleotide metabolism.We also summarize the appli-cation of mitochondrial metabolism-related pathways as ferroptosis treatment targets.Here we provide new insights into the relationship between mitochondria,ferroptosis,and breast cancertreatment.

Numerical and experimental study of the effects of wind turbine operation on sand-dust transport characteristics

Given factors such as reduced land availability for onshore wind farms,wind resource enrichment levels,and costs,there is a growing trend of establishing wind farms in deserts,the Gobi,and other arid regions.Therefore,the relationship between sanddust weather environments and wind turbine operations has garnered significant attention.To investigate the impact of wind turbine wakes on sand-dust transportation,this study employs large eddy simulation to model flow fields,coupled with an actuator line model for simulating rotating blades and a multiphase particle in cell model for simulating sand particles.The research focuses on a horizontal axis wind turbine model and examines the motion and spatiotemporal distribution characteristics of four typical sizes of sand particles in the turbine wake.The findings reveal that sand particles of varying sizes exhibit a spiral settling pattern after traversing the rotating plane of wind turbine blades,influenced by blade shedding vortex and gravity.Sand particles tend to cluster in the peripheries of the vortex cores of low vorticity in the wind turbine wake.The rotation of wind turbines generates a wake vortex structure that causes a significant clustering of sand particles at the tip vortex.As the wake distance increases,the particles that cluster at the turbine's tip gradually spread outward to approximately twice the rotor diameter and then begin to mix with the incoming flow environment.Wind turbines have a noticeable impact on sand-dust transportation,hindering their movement to a significant extent.The average sand-blocking rate exhibits a trend of initially increasing and then decreasing as the wake distance increases.At its peak,the sand-blocking rate reaches an impressive 67.55%.The presence of wind turbines induces the advanced settling of sand particles,resulting in a“triangular”distribution of the deposition within the ground projection area of the wake.

Background:Acute suppurative terminal cholangitis(ASTC)is rarer than acute obstructive cholangitis and is not well studied.To explore this subtype of acute cholangitis,we described our clinical experience with ASTC.Methods:We performed a retrospective review of patients with ASTC admitted to our center from September 2014 to August 2020.We analyzed their clinical characteristics,including etiology,clinical manifestations,imaging features,treatment and prognosis.Results:A total of 32 ASTC patients were included in the analysis.The majority of the patients had a history of biliary operations,and clinical manifestations were occult and atypical.The positive rate of bacterial culture was 46.9%.All the patients had typical imaging features on computed tomography and magnetic resonance imaging.Treatment with effective antibiotics was provided as soon as diagnosis was established.After treatment,most patients had a good outcome.Elevated levels of total bilirubin,aspartate aminotransferase,procalcitonin and gamma-glutamyltransferase were the characteristics of critically ill patients and were associated with relatively poor prognosis.Conclusions:Our results demonstrated that ASTC should be recognized as a new subtype of acute cholangitis,and that earlier diagnosis and more personalized treatments are needed.

The attention mechanism can extract salient features in images,which has been proved to be effective in improving the performance of person re-identification(Re-ID).However,most of the existing attention modules have the following two shortcomings:On the one hand,they mostly use global average pooling to generate context descriptors,without highlighting the guiding role of salient information on descriptor generation,resulting in insufficient ability of the final generated attention mask representation;On the other hand,the design of most attention modules is complicated,which greatly increases the computational cost of the model.To solve these problems,this paper proposes an attention module called self-supervised recalibration(SR)block,which introduces both global and local information through adaptive weighted fusion to generate a more refined attention mask.In particular,a special"Squeeze-Excitation"(SE)unit is designed in the SR block to further process the generated intermediate masks,both for nonlinearizations of the features and for constraint of the resulting computation by controlling the number of channels.Furthermore,we combine the most commonly used Res Net-50 to construct the instantiation model of the SR block,and verify its effectiveness on multiple Re-ID datasets,especially the mean Average Precision(m AP)on the Occluded-Duke dataset exceeds the state-of-the-art(SOTA)algorithm by 4.49%.

Miiuy croaker,Miichthys miiuy is an ecologically important teleost species which is widely distributed in southeast coast of China.In this study,we present a chromosomal-scale genome assembly of the miiuy croaker which is an important Sciaenidae fish and economical species.We adopted Oxford Nanopore and Hi-C sequencing techniques to achieve an assembly with high accuracy and completeness.The investigation of genome characteristic and functional features may provide insights into the study of phylogenetic diversity of miiuy croaker.This study can also be beneficial to improve molecular assisted breeding techniques.Moreover,it can be a great resource to better conduct further study of other sciaenids.

A systematic review of the efficacy of traditional Chinese medicine retention enema in the treatment of ulcerative colitis

The objective of this study is to summarize the efficacy and safety of traditional Chinese medicine(TCM)enema in the treatment of ulcerative colitis(UC).The randomized controlled trials on TCM enema intervention in the treatment of UC were searched in seven databases:PubMed,Embase,Web of Science,CBM,CNKI,Wanfang Database,and VIP Database from January 1,2013 to June 6,2022,and the data were analyzed using RevMan 5.3 software.A total of 18 studies involving 1514 UC patients were included.Meta analysis results showed that compared with conventional Western medicine,Chinese medicine enema had a significant effect on UC,and the clinical effective rate of the experimental group using Chinese medicine enema was 4.45 times that of the control group using conventional Western medicine(odds ratio=4.45,95%confidence interval[3.27,6.06]).Therefore,Chinese medicine enema is effective in the treatment of UC,and can significantly reduce related symptoms.

The major vascular complications associated with diabetes make the management of diabetic mellitus erectile dysfunction(DMED)a challenging endeavor.Notable factors contributing to DMED include oxidative stress,nitric oxide(NO)/cyclic guanosine monophosphate(cGMP)pathway activation,and apoptosis,while nitro-oleic acid(NO,-OA)has been shown to be beneficial in treating these aspects of this condition.We,herein,investigated the effects and possible mechanisms of NO,-OA on erectile function as assessed in a streptozotocin-induced rat model of diabetes.Our results revealed that the erectile function of DMED rats was significantly impaired compared with that of the control group.However,in response to 4 weeks of NO,-OA treatment,there was an improvement in erectile function.The expression of oxidative stress-related indicators was significantly increased and the NO/cGMP pathway was impaired in the DMED group.The expression of proapoptotic factors was increased,while that of antiapoptotic factors was decreased in the DMED group.Moreover,the cell morphology in the cavernous tissue of the DMED group also changed adversely.NO,-OA treatment significantly reversed all these changes observed in the DMED group.In conclusion,NO,-OA treatment partially improved erectile function in DMED rats through mechanisms that included inhibition of oxidative stress,activation of the NO/cGMP pathway,and a reduction in apoptosis.
