A class of benzo[b]phosphole-based alkynylgold(I)complexes has been synthesized and *** complexes share a similar benzo-[b]phosphole ligand,in which the phosphole moiety is substituted with variousπ-conjugated units with different donor strengths,namely phenoxazinylphenyl,tris(di-tert-butylcarbazolyl)phenyl and 2,4-dimethylphenyl *** phosphole-containing gold(I)complexes are found to be strongly luminescent in toluene with tunable emission maxima and possess solvatochromic behaviors,suggesting an emission of metal-perturbed intraligand charge transfer *** voltammetry studies reveal that the presence of gold(I)metal center strongly perturbs the electronic properties of the phosphole moiety of the resultant complexes,which can be further finetuned by the auxiliary ligand on the gold(I)*** the resistive memory studies,devices based on these alkynylgold(I)complexes exhibit satisfactory binary memory behaviors,demonstrating low threshold voltages in narrow distributions,high durability and low misreading *** performances are believed to be originated from a field-induced charge transfer of the alkynylgold(I)complexes,in which the electron-accepting phosphole-gold(I)unit plays a crucial role in stabilizing the charge transfer state and that led to the observed resistive switching and memory behavior.

AIM: To review the clinical response to levetiracetam(LEV) in neonatal seizure management in intensive care ***: Medical records of neonates who received LEV from January 2009 to August 2014 were reviewed. Their demographic data, clinical characteristics, etiology, seizures, electroencephalograms, response to treatment and outcome were noted. Literature review of use of LEV in neonates were also performed via Pub Med and EMBASE with keywords- "neonates", "seizures", "epilepsy" and "LEV" up to Sep 2014 and retrieved the publications. The response rate to LEV was ***: Twelve neonates were identified during the study period. All patients received phenobarbitone loading prior to consideration of LEV. Seven(58%) and nine(75%) achieved seizure freedom 24 h and 72 h after LEV was added, both clinically and electrographically. No serious adverse effects were associated with LEV use. From the literature, there are total 144 neonates reported to have used LEV. The overall results suggested that LEV could control up to 90% of neonatal ***: LEV was found to be relatively safe and efficacious in treating neonatal seizures, but might not work well in the most severe hypoxic ischemic encephalopathy.

Sleep posture monitoring is an essential assessment for obstructive sleep apnea(OSA)*** objective of this study is to develop a machine learning-based sleep posture recognition system using a dual ultra-wideband radar *** collected radiofrequency data from two radars positioned over and at the side of the bed for 16 patients performing four sleep postures(supine,left and right lateral,and prone).We proposed and evaluated deep learning approaches that streamlined feature extraction and classification,and the traditional machine learning approaches that involved different combinations of feature extractors and *** results showed that the dual radar system performed better than either single *** statistical features with random forest classifier yielded the best accuracy(0.887),which could be further improved via an ablation study(0.938).Deep learning approach using transformer yielded accuracy of 0.713.

Metal ions operate as cofactors for around 40% enzymes, however, they also exhibit toxic effects. It is crucial to identify metal-protein interactions at a proteome-wide scale(1) which are difficult due to some weak and transient interactions. We developed an integrated approach consisting of gel electrophoresis and inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry, LA-ICP-MS, IMAC, fluorescence and bioinformatic approach to identify metal-associated proteins using bismuth antiulcer drug and silver as an example(2,3). We developed a comprehensive and robust strategy to readily identify metal-associated proteins as well as to quantify the metals for fast metallome/proteome-wide profiling of metal-binding proteins. Metal-tunable fluorescence probe can track both His-tagged proteins and metal-binding proteins in live cells(4). The probe could also be used in metalloproteomics(5). We also established a bioinformatic method which allows potential metal-binding proteins both sequentially and spaciously to be searched(6,7). We show that histidine-rich proteins(HRPs) are extensively distributed in prokaryotic proteomes, with the majority of HRPs being involved in metal homeostasis. Importantly, the occurrence of histidine-rich proteins in the proteomes of prokaryotes is related to their habitats.
