Performance of Lung Cancer Prediction Methods Using Different Classification Algorithms

In 2018,1.76 million people worldwide died of lung *** of these deaths are due to late diagnosis,and early-stage diagnosis significantly increases the likelihood of a successful treatment for lung *** learning is a branch of artificial intelligence that allows computers to quickly identify patterns within complex and large datasets by learning from existing ***-learning techniques have been improving rapidly and are increasingly used by medical professionals for the successful classification and diagnosis of early-stage *** are widely used in cancer *** particular,machine learning has been used in the diagnosis of lung cancer due to the benefits it offers doctors and *** this context,we performed a study on machine-learning techniques to increase the classification accuracy of lung cancer with 32×56 sized numerical data from the Machine Learning Repository web site of the University of California,*** this study,the precision of the classification model was increased by the effective employment of pre-processing methods instead of direct use of classification *** datasets were derived with pre-processing methods and six machine-learning classification methods were used to achieve this *** study results suggest that the accuracy of the k-nearest neighbors algorithm is superior to random forest,naïve Bayes,logistic regression,decision tree,and support vector *** performance of pre-processing methods was assessed on the lung cancer *** most successful preprocessing methods were Z-score(83%accuracy)for normalization methods,principal component analysis(87%accuracy)for dimensionality reduction methods,and information gain(71%accuracy)for feature selection methods.

gaussian Kernel Based SVR Model for Short-Term Photovoltaic MPP Power Prediction

Predicting the power obtained at the output of the photovoltaic(PV)system is fundamental for the optimum use of the PV ***,it varies at different times of the day depending on intermittent and nonlinear environmen-tal conditions including solar irradiation,temperature and the wind speed,Short-term power prediction is vital in PV systems to reconcile generation and demand in terms of the cost and capacity of the *** this study,a gaussian kernel based Support Vector Regression(SVR)prediction model using multiple input variables is proposed for estimating the maximum power obtained from using per-turb observation method in the different irradiation and the different temperatures for a short-term in the DC-DC boost converter at the PV *** performance of the kernel-based prediction model depends on the availability of a suitable ker-nel function that matches the learning objective,since an unsuitable kernel func-tion or hyper parameter tuning results in signiﬁcantly poor *** this study for theﬁrst time in the literature both maximum power is obtained at max-imum power point and short-term maximum power estimation is *** evaluating the performance of the suggested model,the PV power data simulated at variable irradiations and variable temperatures for one day in the PV system simulated in MATLAB were *** maximum power obtained from the simu-lated system at maximum irradiance was 852.6 *** accuracy and the perfor-mance evaluation of suggested forecasting model were identiﬁed utilizing the computing error statistics such as root mean square error(RMSE)and mean square error(MSE)*** and RMSE rates which obtained were 4.5566*10-04 and 0.0213 using ANN *** and RMSE rates which obtained were 13.0000*10-04 and 0.0362 using SWD-FFNN *** SVR model,1.1548*10-05 MSE and 0.0034 RMSE rates were *** the short-term maximum power prediction,SVR gave higher prediction performance according to ANN and SWD-FFNN.

Removal of heavy metals from aqueous solution by sawdust adsorption

The adsorption of lead, cadmium and nicel from aqueous solution by sawdust of walnut was investigated. The effect of contact time, initial metal ion concentration and temperature on metal ions removal has been studied. The equilibrium time was found to be of the order of 60 min. Kinetics fit pseudo first-order, second-order and intraparticle diffusion models, hence adsorption rate constants were calculated. The adsorption data of metal ions at temperatures of 25, 45 and 60~C have been described by the Freundlich and Langmuir isotherm models. The thermodynamic parameters such as energy, entropy and enthalpy changes for the adsorption of heavy metal ions have also been computed and discussed. Ion exchange is probably one of the major adsorption mechanisms for binding divalent metal ions to the walnut sawdust. The selectivity order of the adsorbent is Pb（I1）~Cd（II）〉Ni（I1）. From these results, it can be concluded that the sawdust of walnut could be a good adsorbent for the metal ions from aqueous solutions.

Surface-modified rice husk ash was used as an inorganic support material for immobilization of Candida antarctica lipase B.(3-aminopropyl)trimethoxysilane was used for surface *** of CALB was performed via both physical adsorption and *** synthesis was carried out by using these immobilized enzymes,free enzyme and Novozyme 435®.Molecular weight distribution of polymer samples was obtained by gel permeation chromatography(gPC)and chain structures of the polymer samples were observed by hydrogen nuclear magnetic resonance(1H-NMR).The highest monomer conversion is generally obtained by using cross-linked enzyme,around 90%.PDI values for all polymer samples were approximately 1.5 which can be considered as *** general cross-linked enzymes were better than physically adsorbed enzymes in terms of average molecular *** can be concluded that PCL can be synthesized with these immobilized enzymes with high molecular weight and low PDI values.

Kinases and glutathione transferases:selective and sensitive targeting

Kinases,representing almost 500 proteins in the human genome,are responsible for catalyzing the phosphorylation reaction of amino acid residues at their *** the largest family of kinases,the protein tyrosine kinases(PTKs)have roles in controlling the essential cellular activities,and their deregulation is generally related to pathologic *** recent efforts on identifying their signal transducer or mediator role in cellular signaling revealed the interaction of PTKs with numerous enzymes of different classes,such as Ser/Thr kinases(STKs),glutathione transferases(gSTs),and receptor tyrosine kinases(RTKs).In either regulation or enhancing the signaling,PTKs are determined in close interaction with these enzymes,under specific cellular conditions,such as oxidative stress and *** this concept,intensive research on thiol metabolizing enzymes recently showed their involvement in the physiologic functions in cellular signaling besides their well known traditional role in antioxidant *** shared signaling components between PTK and gST family enzymes will be discussed in depth in this research review to evaluate the results of recent studies important in drug targeting for therapeutic intervention,such as cell viability,migration,differentiation and proliferation.

Ab Initio Study on Hypothetical Silver Nitride

We perform the ab initio calculations based on norm-conserving pseudopotentials and density functional theory to investigate the structural, elastic, and thermodynamical properties for silver nitride （AgN） compound that is a member of the 4d transition metal group and has not been synthesized yet. The obtained results are compared with the other available theoretical data, and the agreement is, generally, quite good. We also present the pressure-dependent behaviour of some mechanical and thermodynamical properties for the same compounds.

Some Constacyclic Codes over Z4[u]/〈u^2〉, New gray Maps, and New Quaternary Codes

In this paper, we study λ-constacyclic codes over the ring R = Z4 ＋ uZ4, where u^2 = 0, for λ= 1 ＋ 3u and 3 ＋ u. We introduce two new gray maps from R to Z4^4 and show that the gray images of λ-constacyclic codes over R are quasi-cyclic over Z4. Moreover, we present many examples of λ-constacyclic codes over R whose Z4-images have better parameters than the currently best-known linear codes over Z4.

Effectiveness of breathing exercises during the second stage of labor on labor pain and duration： a randomized controlled trial

BACKgROUND： Some research exists on the effect of non-pharmacological approaches for labor pain relief However, there is limited information about effectiveness of breathing exercises in pregnant women to reduce maternal pain during labor. OBJECTIVE： To determine whether breathing exercises for pregnant women during the second stage of labor have beneficial effects on maternal pain, duration of labor, and the first-minute Appearance, Pulse, grimace, Activity and Respiration （APgAR） scores. DESIgN, SETTINg, PARTICIPANTS AND INTERVENTIONS： This randomized clinical trial involved 250 pregnant women, who were randomly divided into two groups： intervention group （Ig; n = 125） and control group （Cg; n = 125）. Ig received one session breathing exercise training and performed breathing exercises during the second stage of labor versus the Cg that did not receive any breathing exercise training. MAIN OUTCOME MEASURES： The effects of breathing exercises on maternal pain were determined by Visual Analogue Scale （VAS）, duration of the second stage of labor, and the first-minute APgAR scores. RESULTS： The mean age of the participants was （23.2 _＋ 4.2）（range： 18 to 42） years. Both Ig and Cg had similar baseline characteristics in terms of age, education level, occupation, and smoking （P 〉 0.05）. The mean VAS scores of Ig and Cg were （88.2 ＋_ 6.3） and （90.5 ＋_ 7.0）, respectively （P 〈 0.001）. The duration of the second stage of labor was （369.6 ＋ 92.0） s for Ig and （440.7 ＋ 142.5） s for Cg （P 〈 0.001 ）. The mean first-minute APgAR scores were （8.84 ＋ 0.50） for Ig and （8.73 ＋ 0.89） for Cg （P 〉 0.05）. CONCLUSION： Based on this study, breathing exercises with deep inhalation and exhalation in pregnant women are effective in reducing the perception of labor pain and shortening the duration of the second stage of delivery. First-Principles Calculations on Structure,Elastic and Thermodynamic Properties of Al_2X (X=Sc,Y) under Pressure

To understand deeply the structural, elastic and thermodynamic characteristics of AI2X （X= Sc, Y） compounds in C15 type （space number 227） Cu2Mg structure, we have performed ab-initio density functional theory within the local density approximation （LDA） and the generalized gradient approximation （ggA）. The thermodynamic properties of the considered structures are obtained through the quasi-harmonic Debye model. We have presented the results on the basic physical parameters, such as the lattice constant, bulk modu- lus, pressure derivative of bulk modulus, second-order elastic constants, Zener anisotropy factor, Poissongs ratio, Youngts modulus, and isotropic shear modulus. In order to gain further information, the pressure- and temperature-dependent behaviour of the volume, bulk modulus, thermal expansion coefficient, heat capacity, entropy, Debye temperature and griineisen parameter were also evaluated over a pressure range of 0-20 gPa for Al2Sc and 0-17 gPa for Al2Y compound and a wide temperature range of 0-2000 K for both compounds. The obtained results were compared with the other reported values.
