Synthesis of NaYF_(4):Yb,Er upconversion nanoparticle-based optomagnetic multifunctional composite for drug delivery system

Optomagnetic multifunctional composite has attracted much attention in recent years because of its promising application prospect in bioimaging,analysis,detection,disease diagnosis,and targeted drug delivery.To explore a dual-targeted therapy for cancer,a novel class of optomagnetic multifunctional composite(UCNP-Fe_(3)O_(4)@MSNs-FA)was successfully synthesized by using upconversion nanoparticles(UCNPs)as nucleus,embedding Fe_(3)O_(4)nanoparticles into the SiO_(2)coating layer,and modifying the surface with folic acid(FA)to strengthen its tumor targeting performance.The properties of the composite were extensively studied.The obtained composite possesses excellent upconversion fluorescence,good dispersion,high specific surface area(229.347 m^(2)/g),and saturation magnetization value(10.9 A m^(2)/g).Its drug loading co ntent and encapsulation efficiency can reach as high as 14.2%and 47.3%,respectively,using doxorubicin hydrochloride(DOX)as model drug.The DOX-UCNP-Fe_(3)O_(4)@MSNs-FA system shows excellent sustained drug release and strong pH-dependent performance,in which the drug release would be accelerated at the slightly acidic microenvironment in the tumor;thus,the system can realize the targeted treatment of cancers.The viability of L929 cells demonstrates the good biocompatibility of the composite.Furthermore,DOX-UCNP-Fe_(3)O_(4)@MSNs-FA exhibits specific cytotoxicity to folate receptor(FR)positive tumor cells,whereas DOX has weak toxicity to FR-negative cells.Therefore,the as-prepared UCNP-Fe_(3)O_(4)@MSNs-FA can potentially be used as an anti-cancer targeted drug delivery system and enhance the therapeutic efficacy against FR-positive tumor cells.

Constructing of heterojunction was identified as a feasible way to improve photocatalytic activity of pho-tocatalyst.In this work,a n-p type Bi_(2)WO_(6)/AgInS_(2)S-scheme heterojunction was successfully prepared for organic pollutants degradation.This Bi_(2)WO_(6)/AgInS_(2)S-scheme heterojunction exhibited much higher pho-tocatalytic activity towards Rhodamine B(92.24%,expose to visible light for 60 min),norfloxacin(81.73%,expose to visible light for 90 min)and levofloxacin(87.46%,expose to visible light for 90 min)than pure Bi_(2)WO_(6)and pure AgInS_(2).Toxicity analysis indicated the low environmental toxicity of Rhodamine B degradation intermediates for Rye seeds and Sudangrass seeds germination and growth.Mechanism study displayed that AgInS_(2)and Bi_(2)WO_(6)work as the primary photocatalyst to form·O_(2)−andOH,respectively.The improved photocatalytic activity of the Bi_(2)WO_(6)/AgInS_(2)S-scheme heterojunction was due to the im-proved light response range and intensified carrier separation capability.Additionally,a S-scheme charge transfer mechanism including multiple charge transfer channels was proposed.This work could provide an effective strategy for organic pollutants degradation in wastewater.

Optomagnetic multifunctional composite based on upconversion luminescence nanomaterial is regarded as a promising strategy for bioimaging,disease diagnosis and targeted delivery of drugs.To explore a mesoporous nanostructure with excellent water dispersibility and high drug-loading capacity,a novel nanorattle-structured Fe3O4@SiO2@NaYF4:Yb,Er magnetic upconversion nanorattle(MUCNR)was successfully designed by using Fe3O4 as core and NaYF4:Yb,Er nanocrystals as shell.The microstructures and crystal phase of the as-prepared MUCNRs were evaluated by transmission electron microscopy,Xray powder diffraction and N2 adsorption/desorption isotherms.The Kirkendall effect was adapted to explain the formation mechanism of the MUCNRs.The loading content and encapsulation efficiency of doxorubicin hydrochloride(DOX)could reach as high as 18.2%and 60.7%,respectively.Moreover,the DOX loading MUCNR(DOX-MUCNR)system showed excellent sustained drug release and strong p Hdependent performance,which was conducive to drug release at the slightly acidic microenvironment of tumor.Microcalorimetry was used to quantify the interactions between the carrier structure and drug release rate directly.The heat release rates in the heat-flow diagrams are basically consistent with the DOX release rate,thereby showing that microcalorimetry assay not only provides a unique thermodynamic explanation for the structure–activity relationship of Fe3O4@SiO2@NaYF4:Yb,Er MUCNRs but also provides powerful guidance to avoid the blind selection or design of drug carriers.Therefore,our work firmly provided a comprehensive perspective for using Fe3O4@SiO2@NaYF4:Yb,Er MUCNRs as a remarkable magnetic targeted drug carrier.

Behavior of phase transformation of Baotou mixed rare earth concentrate during oxidation roasting

Based on the new process named "Combination Method" for metallurgy and separation of Baotou mixed rare earth concentrate(BMREC),the aim of this paper is to clearly elucidate the phase change behavior of BMREC without additives during oxidative roasting at 450-800℃.The results indicate that the bastnaesite in BMREC is decomposed at 450-550℃,the weight loss is about 10.3 wt%,and the activation energy(E) is 144 kJ/mol.The bastnaesite in BMREC is decomposed into rare earth fluoride,rare earth oxides(La_(2)O_(3),Ce_(7)O_(12),Pr_(6)O_(11) and Nd_(2)O_(3)),and CO_(2),particularly,with the increase of roasting temperature,bastnaesite in BMREC is more completely decomposed into LaF_(3),which causes a decrease in leaching rate of La during the HCI leaching process.Additionally,the maximum cerium oxidation efficiency reaches about 60 wt% when the roasting temperature is equal to or above 500℃,and the oxidation reaction rate of cerium increases with the increasing roasting temperature.

Sentiment collocation refers to the collocation of a target word and a polarity word. Sentiment collocation extraction aims to extract the targets and their modifying polarity words by analyzing the relationships between them. This can be regarded as a basic sentiment analysis task and is relevant in many practical applications. Previous studies relied mainly on the syntactic path, which is used to connect the target word and the polarity word. To deeply exploit the semantic information of the syntactic path, we propose two types of syntactic representation, namely, relation embedding and subtree embedding, to capture the latent semantic features. Relation embedding is used to represent the latent semantics between targets and their corresponding polarity words, and subtree embedding is used to explore the rich syntactic information for each word on the path. To combine the two types of syntactic representations, a neural network is constructed. We use a recursive neural network(RNN) to model the subtree embeddings, and then the subtree embedding and the word embedding are combined as the enhanced word representation for each word in the syntactic path. Finally,a convolutional neural network(CNN) is adopted to integrate the two types of syntactic representations to extract the sentiment collocations from reviews. Our experiments were conducted on six types of reviews, which included product domains(such as cameras and phones) and service domains(such as hotels and restaurants).The experimental results show that our proposed method can accurately capture the latent semantic features hidden behind the syntactic paths that neither the common feature-based methods nor the syntactic-path-based method can handle, and, further, that it significantly outperforms numerous baselines and previous methods.

Nanocomposites composed of modified natural polymer and inorganic nanomaterial for safe,high-efficiency,multifunctional protection of paper-based relics

Paper-based relics as important carriers of human history and civilization have been facing severe damage problems,and their protection is a major project for cultural heritage restoration.So far,safe,high-efficiency,and multifunctional protection materials are still urgent to be developed.Herein,through screening a series of alkaline nano-oxides and cleverly combining the advantages of modified natural polymer(quaternized chitosan)and inorganic nanomaterials(Zn O),we successfully prepared their functional nanocomposites with multiple properties and pioneered their smart application for multifunctional protection of paper relics.By spraying loads,this kind of nanocomposites can effectively and safely inhibit the acid degradation of paper relics and long-term maintain a natural or weak basic state even under harsh accelerated aging conditions.Meanwhile,the coating of nanocomposites does not change the chromatic aberration but partially improves the hydrophobicity.Moreover,the mechanical properties of paper relics are reinforced up to more than one time for all-around tensile strength,folding endurance,and tearing strength.It is worth noting that the usage of nanocomposites can avoid the discoloration or fading of p H-sensitive pigments/dyes and prevent the blue/red inks from ink-spreading.By integrating the anti-microorganism effects of the two components,the nanocomposites have exhibited a broad antimicrobial capacity for both fungi(e.g.,Plectosphaerella cucumerina and Aspergillus unguis)and bacteria(e.g.,Staphylococcus aureus).The acquired knowledge not only represents an advanced step for designing functionalized inorganic/polymer nanocomposite but also sheds light on the multi-functional integrated protection of paperbased relics.

A syntactic path-based hybrid neural network for negation scope detection

The automatic detection of negation is a crucial task in a wide-range of natural language processing(NLP)applications,including medical data mining,relation extraction,question answering,and sentiment analysis.In this paper,we present a syntactic path-based hybrid neural network architecture,a novel approach to identify the scope of negation in a sentence.Our hybrid architecture has the particularity to capture salient information to determine whether a token is in the scope or not,without relying on any human intervention.This approach combines a bidirectional long shortterm memory(Bi-LSTM)network and a convolutional neural network(CNN).The CNN model captures relevant syntactic features between the token and the cue within the shortest syntactic path in both constituency and dependency parse trees.The Bi-LSTM learns the context representation along the sentence in both forward and backward directions.We evaluate our model on the Bioscope corpus,and get 90.82%F-score(78.31%PCS)on the abstract sub-corpus,outperforming features-dependent approaches.

Abnormal tendons are rarely ever repaired to the natural structure and morphology of normal tendons.To better guide the repair and regeneration of injured tendons through a tissue engineering method,it is necessary to have insights into the internal morphology,organization,and composition of natural tendons.This review summarized recent researches on the structure and function of the extracellular matrix(ECM)components of tendons and highlight the application of multiple detection methodologies concerning the structure of ECMs.In addition,we look forward to the future of multi-dimensional biomaterial design methods and the potential of structural repair for tendon ECM components.In addition,focus is placed on the macro to micro detection methods for tendons,and current techniques for evaluating the extracellular matrix of tendons at the micro level are introduced in detail.Finally,emphasis is given to future extracellular matrix detection methods,as well as to how future efforts could concentrate on fabricating the biomimetic tendons.

High molecular karyotype variation revealed in indigenous Elymus nutans in the Qinghai Plateau

The karyotypes of 27 individuals of Elymus nutans from eight wild populations in the Qinghai Plateau were analyzed using sequential FISH and GISH. High FISH pattern polymorphism and karyotype variation were detected within and among populations. The chromosome variations were mainly characterized as repeat deletions and amplifications along with inter-genomic translocations. The chromosomes of the St and Y genomes demonstrated higher polymorphism than those of the H genome. Six different intergenomic translocations were identified in 33.3% of individuals; type Ⅰ and Ⅱ translocations were detected with higher frequency. Further analysis revealed that type Ⅰ and Ⅱ translocations were distributed in different geographic regions. The origin of high karyotype variation of E. nutans in the Qinghai plateau is further discussed.
