Research trends, hot spots and prospects for necroptosis in the field of neuroscience

There are two types of cell death-apoptosis and necrosis. Apoptosis is cell death regulated by cell signaling pathways, while necrosis has until recently been considered a passive mechanism of cell death caused by environmental pressures. However, recent studies show that necrosis can also be regulated by specific cell signaling pathways. This mode of death, termed necroptosis, has been found to be related to the occurrence and development of many diseases. We used bibliometrics to analyze the global output of literature on necroptosis in the field of neuroscience published in the period 2007–2019 to identify research hotspots and prospects. We included 145 necroptosisrelated publications and 2239 references published in the Web of Science during 2007–2019. Visualization analysis revealed that the number of publications related to necroptosis has increased year by year, reaching a peak in 2019. China is the country with the largest number of publications. Key word and literature analyses demonstrated that mitochondrial function change, stroke, ischemia/reperfusion and neuroinflammation are likely the research hotspots and future directions of necroptosis research in the nervous system. The relationship between immune response-related factors, damage-associated molecular patterns, pathogen-associated molecular patterns and necroptosis may become a potential research hotspot in the future. Taken together, our findings suggest that although the inherent limitations of bibliometrics may affect the accuracy of the literature-based prediction of research hotspots, the results obtained from the included publications can provide a reference for the study of necroptosis in the field of neuroscience.

Do pyroptosis, apoptosis, and necroptosis (PANoptosis) exist in cerebral ischemia? Evidence from cell and rodent studies

Some scholars have recently developed the concept of PANoptosis in the study of infectious diseases where pyroptosis,apoptosis and necroptosis act in consort in a multimeric protein complex,*** allows all the components of PANoptosis to be regulated *** provides a new way to study the regulation of cell death,in that different types of cell death may be regulated at the same *** test whether PANoptosis exists in diseases other than infectious diseases,we chose cerebral ischemia/reperfusion injury as the research model,collected articles researching cerebral ischemia/reperfusion from three major databases,obtained the original research data from these articles by bibliometrics,data mining and other methods,then integrated and analyzed these *** selected papers that investigated at least two of the components of PANoptosis to check its occurrence in ischemia/*** the cell model simulating ischemic brain injury,pyroptosis,apoptosis and necroptosis occur together and this phenomenon exists widely in different passage cell lines or primary ***,apoptosis and necroptosis also occurred in rat and mouse models of ischemia/reperfusion *** confirms that PANoptosis is observed in ischemic brain injury and indicates that PANoptosis can be a target in the regulation of various central nervous system diseases.

Catalytic Oxidative Coupling of 1-Phenyl-1H-tetrazole-5-thiol(HL) and Complex [Cu(I)_6L_6] with a Chair Configuration

Both a persulfide crystal of L-L（1）, the oxidative coupling product of l-phenyl-lH-tetrazole-5-thiol（HL）, and a neutral copper（1） complex of Cu6L6（2） were self-assembled and their crystal architectures were characterized by CCD method. HL was converted into the persulfide L-L（1） over a metalloporphyrin catalyst with enzymatic characters under ambient conditions. Whlie in the crystal architecture of Cu6L6（2）, 6 copper（1） ions were ligated by 6L anions to construct a Cu6 ring, which just resembled the chair configuration of cyclohexane. Notably, both compounds 1 and 2 exhibit strong photoluminescence in solid state.

A highly sensitive chemiluminescence sensor for detecting mercury(Ⅱ) ions: a combination of Exonuclease Ⅲ-aided signal amplification and graphene oxide-assisted background reduction

In this paper, we report a highly sensitive chemiluminescence(CL) sensor for Hg2+ ions based on thymine-Hg2+-thymine(T-Hg2+-T) coordination chemistry. We designed a thymine rich oligonucleotide as a capture probe and a signal probe that includes two functional domains: a horseradish peroxidase-mimicking DNAzyme domain for the generation of CL, and a recognition domain. Graphene oxide(GO) was introduced to adsorb the signal probe via π-π interaction, which brought the DNAzyme domain and GO into close proximity and quenches CL. In the presence of Hg2+ ions, the coordination of Hg2+ with the capture probe yielded a hairpin complex, triggers cascaded strand displacement reactions and Exonuclease III-assisted signal amplifications. As a result, accumulated amounts of DNAzyme were generated and released from GO, leading to an enhanced CL signal. This strategy combines enzyme-based signal amplification and GO as a background reducer, leads to a limit of detection(LOD) of 2 nmol/L. This simple detection system provides a label-free yet sensitive approach for detection of Hg2+ ions.

Size-resolved aerosol water-soluble ions at a regional background station of Beijing, Tianjin, and Hebei, North China

The characteristics of water-soluble ions in size-resolved particulate matter were investigated usingion chromatography at Shangdianzi, a regional background station of Beijing, Tianjin, and Hebei. Seasonal total concentrations of ions （Na＋, Mg2＋, IC, Ca2＋, NH＋4, Cl-, SO2-4 and NO-3） were 75.5 ± 52.9 μg/m3 in spring, 26.5 ± 12.3 Bg/m3 in summer, 22.7 ± 20.4 μg/m3 in autumn, and 31.1 ± 23.9 μg/m3 in winter, respectively. The secondary ions （NO3, SO2-4 and NH＋4）, mainly associated with fine particles, accounted for 84.2% in spring, 82.1% in summer, 81.5% in autumn and 76.3% in winter of all ions. Strong correlations were found between NH＋4 and SO2-4 （r = 0.95, p 〈 0.01） as well as NH＋4 and NO-3 （r = 0.90, p 〈 0.01） in fine particles; while in coarse particles, correlations between Mg2＋ and NO-3 （r = 0.80, p 〈 0.01）, and Ca2＋ and NO2＋（r = 0.85, p 〈 0.01） were found. The concentrations of Na＋, IC, Mg2＋, Ca2＋, NH＋4, Cl-, NO3, and SC2-4 were 2.02, 0.81, 0.36, 1.65, 9.58, 4.01, 18.9, and 18.4 μg/m3 in particulate matter from southeast-derived air masses, which were typically 1.58-3.37 times higher than in northwest trajectories. Thus, concentrations of water-soluble ions at this background station were heavily influenced by regional transport of serious pollution derived from biomass burning, coal combustion, industrial and vehicle exhaust emissions from Beijing, Tianjin, and Hebei.

Ovarian endometrioma（OE）, also known as “chocolate cysts,” is a cystic mass that develops in the ovaries due to endometriosis and is a common gynecological condition characterized by the growth of endometrial tissue outside the uterus, leading to symptoms such as dysmenorrhea, pelvic pain, and infertility. However, the precise molecular and cellular mechanisms driving this pathophysiology remain largely unknown, posing challenges for diagnosis and treatment. Here, we employed integrated single-cell transcriptomic profiling of over 52,000 individual cells from endometrial tissues of OE patients and healthy donors and identified twelve major cell populations. We identified notable alterations in cell type-specific proportions and molecular signatures associated with OE. Notably, the activation of IGFBP5+macrophages with pro-inflammatory properties, NK cell exhaustion, and aberrant proliferation of IQCG+and KLF2+epithelium are key features and may be the potential mechanisms underlying the pathogenesis of OE. Collectively, our data contribute to a better understanding of OE at the single cell level and may pave the way for the development of novel therapeutic strategies.

Future changes in coverage of 1.5℃ and 2℃warming thresholds

The areas covered by 1.5 ℃ and 2.0 ℃ warming thresholds under RCP2.6, RCP4.5, and RCP8.5 were analyzed based on 22 CMIP5 models. More than 90% of the model runs are in agreement that by the end of the 21 st century, near-surface air temperature changes over ~5%(~2%), ~40%(~18%), and ~92%(~86%)of the globe will cross the 1.5 ℃(2.0 ℃) threshold under RCP2.6, RCP4.5, and RCP8.5, respectively. Under RCP8.5, nearly the whole of North America, Europe + Russia, Africa, and Asia–Russia will cross the 1.5 ℃(2.0 ℃) threshold in ~2050(~2060), while the coverage rates over South America and Oceania are ~80%(~75%) and ~50%(~30%), respectively. The threshold-onset time(TOT) for 2 ℃ warming is earliest over Europe + Russia and North America, followed by Africa, Asia–Russia, South America, and finally Oceania under the RCP4.5 and RCP8.5 scenarios. The TOT for 1.5 ℃ is ~10–30 years ahead of that for 2.0 ℃.

Adsorption of CO_(2) on MgAl layered double hydroxides: Effect of intercalated anion and alkaline etching time

The adsorption of CO_(2) on MgAl layered double hydroxides(MgAl-LDHs) based adsorbents has been an effective way to capture CO_(2),however the adsorption capacity was hampered due to the pore structure and the dispersibility of adsorption active *** address the problem,we investigate the effect of intercalated anion and alkaline etching time on the structure,morphology and CO_(2) uptake performances of ***-LDHs are synthesized by the onepot hydrothermal method,followed by alkaline etching of NaOH,and characterized by x-ray diffraction,N_(2) adsorption,scanning electron microscopy and Fourier transform infrared *** CO_(2) adsorption tests of the samples are performed on a thermogravimetric analyzer,and the adsorption data are fitted by the first-order,pseudo-second-order and Elovich models,*** results demonstrate that among the three intercalated samples,MgAl(Cl) using chloride salts as precursors possesses the highest adsorption capacity of CO_(2),owing to high crystallinity and porous structure,while MgAl(Ac) employing acetate salts as precursors displays the lowest CO_(2) uptake because of poor crystallinity,disorderly stacked structure and unsatisfactory pore *** regard to alkaline etching,the surface of the treated MgAl(Cl) is partly corroded,thus the specific surface area and pore volume increase,which is conducive to the exposure of adsorption active ***,the adsorption performance of the alkaline-etched adsorbents is significantly improved,and MgAl(Cl)-6 has the highest CO_(2) *** the alkaline etching time further increasing,the CO_(2) adsorption capacity of MgAl(Cl)-9 sharply decreases,mainly due to the collapse of pore structure and the fragmentized ***,the CO_(2) adsorption performance is greatly influenced by alkaline etching time,and appropriate alkaline etching time can facilitate the contact between CO_(2) molecules and the adsorbent.
