Soil-borne pathogen Phytophthora sojae is an oomycete that causes devastating damage to soybean yield. To mine original resistant genes in soybean is an effective and environmentally-friend approach controlling the disease. In this study, soybean proteins were extracted from the first trifoliolates infected by predominant P. sojae race 1 and analyzed by twodimensional gel electrophoresis. Nineteen differently-expressed protein spots were detected, and 10 of them were further applied for Matrix-Assisted Laser Desorption/Ionization Time of Flight Mass Spectrometry Assay. One protein containing a dirigent （DIR） domain was identified and belonged to the DIR-b/d family. Therefore, it was named as GmDRR1 （Glycine max Disease Resistance Response 1）. Then, GmDRR1 gene was pathologically confirmed to be involved in the resistant to P. sojae in soybean. GmDRR1-GFP （green fluorescent protein） fusion proteins localized in the cell membrane. qRTPCR results showed GmDRR1 gene expressed differently in P. sojae resistant- and susceptible-soybean cultivars. By the promoter analysis, we found a haplotype H8 was existing in most resistant soybean varieties, while a haplotype H77 was existing in most susceptible soybean varieties. The H77 haplotype had seven SNPs （C to A, G to C, C to A, T to A, T to C, T to C, and T to A） and two single nucleotide insertions. The results supported that the expression difference of GmDRR1 genes between P. sojae resistant- and susceptible-soybean cultivars might depend on the GmDRR1 promoter SNPs. The results suggested that GmDRR1 was a dirigent protein involved in soybean resistant to P. sojae and paved a novel way for investigation of the molecular regulatory mechanism of the defense response to P. sojae in soybean.

Satellites have shown free-space quantum-communication ability; however, they are orbit-limited from full-time all-location coverage. Meanwhile, practical quantum networks require satellite constellations,which are complicated and expensive, whereas the airborne mobile quantum communication may be a practical alternative to offering full-time all-location multi-weather coverage in a cost-effective way. Here,we demonstrate the first mobile entanglement distribution based on drones, realizing multi-weather operation including daytime and rainy nights, with a Clauser-Horne-Shimony-Holt S-parameter measured to be 2.41±0.14 and 2.49±0.06, respectively. Such a system shows unparalleled mobility, flexibility and reconfigurability compared to the existing satellite and fiber-based quantum communication, and reveals its potential to establish a multinode quantum network, with a scalable design using symmetrical lens diameter and single-mode-fiber coupling. All key technologies have been developed to pack quantum nodes into lightweight mobile platforms for local-area coverage, and arouse further technical improvements to establish wide-area quantum networks with high-altitude mobile communication.

The basic premise of high yield in rice is to improve leaf photosynthetic efficiency and coordinate the sourcesink relationship in rice plants. Quantitative trait loci （QTLs） related to morphological traits and chlorophyll content of rice leaves were detected at the stages of heading to maturity, and a major QTL （qLSCHL4） related to flag leaf shape and chlorophyll content was detected at both stages in recombinant inbred lines constructed using the indica rice cultivar 93-11 and the japonica rice cultivar Nipponbare. Map-based cloning and expression analysis showed that LSCHL4 is allelic to NAL1, a gene previously reported in narrow leaf mutant of rice. Overexpression lines transformed with vector carrying LSCHL4 from Nipponbare and a near-isogenic line of 93-11 （NIL-9311） had significantly increased leaf chlorophyll content, enlarged flag leaf size, and improved panicle type. The average yield of NIL-9311 was 18.70% higher than that of 93-11. These results indicate that LSCHL4 had a pleiotropic function. Exploring and pyramiding more high-yield alleles resem- bling LSCHL4 for super rice breeding provides an effective way to achieve new breakthroughs in raising rice yield and generate new ideas for solving the problem of global food safety.

Soybean is one of the most important food crops *** other legumes,soybean can form symbiotic relationships with Rhizobium *** fixation of soybean via its symbiosis with Rhizobium is pivotal for sustainable *** Ⅲ effectors(T3Es)are essential regulators of the establishment of the symbiosis,and nodule number is a feature of nitrogen-affected ***,genes encoding T3Es at quantitative trait loci(QTLs)related to nodulation have rarely been *** segment substitution lines(CSSLs)have a common genetic background but only a few loci with heterogeneous genetic information;thus,they are suitable materials for identifying candidate genes at a target *** this study,a CSSL population was used to identify the QTLs related to nodule number in *** nucleotide polymorphism(SNP)markers and candidate genes within the QTLs interval were detected,and it was determined which genes showed differential expression between *** candidate genes(GmCDPK28,GmNAC1,GmbHLH,and GmERF5)linked to the SNPs were identified as being related to nodule traits and pivotal processes and pathways involved in symbiosis establishment.A candidate gene(GmERF5)encoding a transcription factor that may interact directly with the T3E NopAA was *** confirmed CSSLs with important segments and candidate genes identified in this study are valuable resources for further studies on the genetic network and T3Es involved in the signaling pathway that is essential for symbiosis establishment.

Fragments produced in the reactions of 69 MeV/nucleon ^(36)Ar and ^(55)MeV/nucleon ^(40)Ar on a Be target have been measured *** isotopic distributions from fragmentation reaction for both projectiles are reproduced by using a modified statistical abrasion-ablation *** isospin effect exhibits in the isotopic distributions produced in ^(36)Ar and ^(40)Ar *** evidence is seen for the disappearance of the isospin effect in fragmentation reaction.

Dear Editor,Induction chemotherapy has been utilized for decades in locally advanced head and neck squamous cell carcinoma(HNSCC).The docetaxel,cisplatin,5-fluorouracil(TPF)regimen is the most recommended induction chemotherapy regimen forHNSCC and oral squamous cell carcinoma(OSCC)[1].However,our initial phase Ⅲ trial failed to demonstrate a significant survival benefit of TPF induction chemotherapy in patients with locally advanced OSCC[2].

ACYL-CoA-BINDING PROTEINs(ACBPs)play crucial regulatory roles during plant response to hypoxia,but their molecular mechanisms remain poorly *** study reveals that ACBP4 serves as a positive regulator of the plant hypoxia response by interacting with WRKY70,influencing its nucleocytoplasmic shuttling in Arabidopsis ***,we demonstrate the direct binding of WRKY70 to the ACBP4 promoter,resulting in its upregulation and suggesting a positive feedback ***,we pinpointed a phosphorylation site at Ser638 of ACBP4,which enhances submergence tolerance,potentially by facilitating WRKY70's nuclear ***,a natural variation in this phosphorylation site of ACBP4 allowed *** to adapt to humid conditions during its historical demographic *** further observed that both phosphorylated ACBP4 and oleoyl-Co A can impede the interaction between ACBP4 and WRKY70,thus promoting WRKY70's nuclear ***,we found that the overexpression of orthologous Bna ***4and Bna ***70 in Brassica napus increases submergence tolerance,indicating their functional similarity across *** summary,our research not only sheds light on the functional significance of the ACBP4 gene in hypoxia response,but also underscores its potential utility in breeding flooding-tolerant oilseed rape varieties.

Symmetrical femtosecond laser arc incision in correcting corneal astigmatism in cataract patients

AIM:To evaluate the effect of symmetrical arc incision correcting corneal astigmatism in femtosecond laserassisted phacoemulsification(FLACS).METHODS:This study enrolled patients with cataract combined with regular corneal astigmatism of>0.75 D,who underwent *** arc incision was set at 8 mm diameter and 85%*** follow-up time was 3-24mo(4.92±3.49mo).Pentacam recorded the corneal astigmatism and higher-order aberration at pre-operation and *** changes in corneal astigmatism were analyzed by Alpins *** correlation of astigmatism type,age,corneal horizontal diameter,corneal thickness,arc incision length,and correction index(CI)was analyzed,and the residual corneal astigmatism was compared with the residual whole eye ***:Totally 79 patients(102 eyes)were enrolled,10 patients had corneal epithelial injury,1 patient occurred corneal epithelial *** corneal astigmatism was 1.23±0.38 D pre-operation,and decreased to 0.76±0.39 D post-operation(t=10.146,P=0.000).Corneal high-order aberration was 0.17±0.08μm pre-operation and 0.24±0.11μm post-operation(t=-5.186,P=0.000).The residual corneal astigmatism and residual whole eye astigmatism were no significant difference(t=-0.347,P=0.729).Using Alpin’s method,the following were determined:target-induced astigmatism(TIA)=1.23±0.38 D,surgeryinduced astigmatism(SIA)=0.77±0.45 D,difference vector(DV)=0.77±0.39 D,and CI=0.54±***,astigmatism size,corneal horizontal diameter,corneal thickness,and arc incision length were not correlated with *** CI for against the rule astigmatism(ATR)was better than that for with the rule astigmatism(WTR;P=0.001).CONCLUSION:Femtosecond laser-assisted astigmatic keratotomy has better CI of ATR,but increase higher-order corneal *** is not ideal,it’s not a perfect choice if we pursue ideal correction effect.

Interleukin-37b(hereafter called IL-37)was identified as fundamental inhibitor of natural and acquired *** molecular mechanism and function of IL-37 in colorectal cancer(CRC)has been ***,we found that IL-37 transgenic(IL-37tg)mice were highly susceptible to colitis-associated colorectal cancer(CAC)and suffered from dramatically increased tumor burdens in ***,IL-37 is dispensable for intestinal mutagenesis,and CRC cell proliferation,apoptosis,and ***,IL-37 dampened protective cytotoxic T cell-mediated immunity in CAC and B16-OVA ***8^(+)T cell dysfunction is defined by reduced retention and activation as well as failure to proliferate and produce cytotoxic cytokines in IL-37tg mice,enabling tumor evasion of immune *** dysfunction led by IL-37 antagonizes IL-18–induced proliferation and effector function of CD8+T cells,which was dependent on SIGIRR(single immunoglobulin interleukin-1 receptor-related protein).Finally,we observed that IL-37 levels were significantly increased in CRC patients,and positively correlated with serum CRC biomarker CEA levels,but negatively correlated with the CD8+T cell infiltration in CRC *** findings highlight the role of IL-37 in harnessing antitumor immunity by inactivation of cytotoxic T cells and establish a new defined inhibitory factor IL-37/SIGIRR in cancerimmunity cycle as therapeutic targets in CRC.
