Windbreak and sand fixation services(SR)provided by grasslands are a joint result of climate change and human *** of grassland protection measurements have been successively implemented on Inner Mongolia grasslands since 2000,but their effects on SR remains *** on satellite-derived vegetation dynamics and the Revised Wind Erosion Equation(RWEQ)model,this paper developed a method for quantitatively separating the impact of human activities on SR and revealed the contribution of human activities to SR in the Inner Mongolia grasslands from 2000 to *** 2020,the actual sand fixation(SRA)of Inner Mongolia grasslands was 12.50 t·ha^(-1),spatially characterized as lower in the eastern and western parts,which was dominated by the sparse vegetation coverage and the low potential wind erosion respectively,while higher in the central part,due to the grassland *** human-driven sand fixation(SRH)of Inner Mongolia grasslands changed from–1.28 t·ha^(-1)to–0.14 t·ha^(-1)from 2000 to 2020,indicating human activities inhibited SR,but the inhibition was gradually *** semidesert and meadow steppes,the SRHchanged from–3.00 t·ha^(-1)to 0.00 t·ha^(-1)and–0.16 t·ha^(-1)to 0.00 t·ha^(-1),respectively,which showed that the effect of human activities changed from inhibition to ***,it should be noted that human activities still inhibited the SR in typical *** results implicated that grassland ecological protection should pay much more attention to reasonable use of vulnerable typical *** grassland use requires quantitative evaluation on the effects of human activity for precise monitoring and sustainable management.

Enterovirus 71(EV71) infection causes severe central nervous system damage, particularly for children under the age of 5 years old, which remains a major public health burden worldwide. Clinical data released that children may be repeatedly infected by different members in enterovirus and get even worsen. Mucosa, especially epithelium of alimentary canal, was considered the primary site of EV71 infection. It has been elusive whether the preexsiting viral antibody in mucosa plays a role in EV71 infection. To answer this question, we respectively measured viral antibody response and EV71 RNA copy number of one hundred throat swab specimens from clinically confirmed EV71-infected children. The results released that low-level of mucosal Ig G antibody against EV71 broadly existed in young population. More importantly, it further elucidated that the children with mucosal preexsiting EV71 Ig G were prone to be infected, which suggested a former viral Ig G mediated enhancement of viral infection in vivo.

Spatio-temporal Pattern of Ecosystem Pressure in Countries Along the Belt and Road: Combining Remote Sensing Data and Statistical Data

Building a Green Silk Road by integrating the Sustainable Development Goals(SDGs) is one of the Belt and Road Initiative(BRI) visions, but the BRI faces enormous challenge that is the conflict between economic development and ecological *** the current scale and trend of the impact of human activities on the ecosystem is the preliminary work to ensure that human activities do not exceed the ecological carrying capacity under the BRI. This study evaluated the ecosystem pressure in countries along the Belt and Road(B&R) from 2000–2017 based on the supply-consumption balance relationship of ecological resources. Net primary productivity(NPP) is taken as the measure of ecological resources, and the supply level and consumption intensity of ecological resources is estimated based on remote sensing data and statistical data, respectively. Results show that thirteen countries with overconsumed ecological resources concentrated in the West Asia/Middle East. Although the intensity of the ecological resource consumption correlated with ecological resource endowments, the ecosystem pressure was determined by social development dependence on the ecological resources at the same ecological resource endowments level. Nearly 80% of countries along the B&R suffered from significantly increased(P < 0.05) ecosystem pressure during 2000–2017, since most of the countries along the B&R were developing countries,and their economic development was highly dependent on ecological resources. Some West Asia/Middle East countries successfully mitigated the ecosystem pressure by importing feed for livestock. Likewise, the Southeast Asian islands benefitted from the import of agricultural products. The results highlight that the BRI should reduce the dependence of social development demands on local ecological resources by international trade for ensuring the increasing ecosystem pressure trend within the ecological carrying capacity.

To enhance the wear resistance of graphene oxide(GO)nano-filled epoxy resin(EP)coatings with ex-cellent dispersion,GO were modified using a co-crosslinking strategy between polydopamine(PDA)and polyethyleneimine(PEI)through an environmentally friendly,simple and low-cost ***-density amino-branched PEI and highly adhesive PDA formed covalent bond cross-links with GO(PDA/PEI-GO)through the Michael addition and Schiffbase *** the introduction of amino active sites,the PDA self-polymerization reaction time was significantly shorted from 24 to 6 *** covalently cross-linked network increased the lamellar spacing of GO and enhanced the interfacial bonds between the PDA/PEI-GO lamellae and EP *** to the improved dispersion and surface activity of GO,the PDA/PEI-GO nano-filled EP coating exhibited excellent wear *** friction with GCr15 stainless steel ball,the average friction coefficient and wear rate of the coating were reduced by 31.9%and 62.7%,respectively,compared to the pure EP *** addition,the wear mechanism of the PDA/PEI-GO/EP coating changed from adhesive and fatigue wear to abrasive wear,and it maintained good wear resistance by forming a GO lubrication transfer film on the counterpart ***,this study may provide a new strategy for improving the dispersion of graphene in wear-resistant polymer materials for practical applications.

Thermodynamic insights into n-alkanes phase change materials for thermal energy storage

n-Alkanes have been widely used as phase change materials(PCMs) for thermal energy storage applications because of their exceptional phase transition performance, high chemical stability, long term cyclic stability and non-toxicity. However, the thermodynamic properties, especially heat capacity, of n-alkanes have rarely been comprehensively investigated in a wide temperature range, which would be insufficient for design and utilization of n-alkanes-based thermal energy storage techniques. In this study, the thermal properties of n-alkanes(C;H;-C;H;), such as thermal stability, thermal conductivity, phase transition temperature and enthalpy were systematically studied by different thermal analysis and calorimetry methods, and compared with previous results. Thermodynamic property of these n-alkanes was studied in a wide temperature range from 1.9 K to 370 K using a combined relaxation(Physical Property Measurement System, PPMS), differential scanning and adiabatic calorimetry method, and the corresponding thermodynamic functions, such as entropy and enthalpy, were calculated based on the heat capacity curve fitting. Most importantly, the heat capacities and related thermodynamic functions of n-heneicosane and n-docosane were reported for the first time in this work, as far as we know. This research work would provide accurate and reliable thermodynamic properties for further study of n-alkanes-based PCMs for thermal energy storage applications.
