The mitochondria are essential for tumorigenesis and have been regarded as important targets in cancer ***,the mitochondria-targeted platinum(Ⅱ)complexes have been *** introduction of the triazole group w.th larger steric hindrance through post-click reaction converts the hybridization of carbon from sp to sp^(2),endow.ng the complexes w.th an orthogonally oriented ligand w.th restricted rotation and emission enhancement *** of the triazolyl ligand has led to platinum(Ⅱ)complexes that can efficiently enter cancer cells and selectively accumulate in mitochondria,leading to significant enhancement in *** vivo anti-cancer investigations have demonstrated their distinct antitumor efficacy in substantial inhibition of tumor grow.h in breast cancer mice through dissipation of mitochondrial membrane potential,inducing apoptosis of tumor cell w.th negligibly systemic cytotoxicity.

Background Severe acute respiratory syndrome is frequently complicated by respiratory failure requiring ventilatory *** aimed to compare the efficacy of non-invasive ventilation against invasive mechanical ventilation treating respiratory failure in this *** Retrospective analysis w.s conducted on all respiratory failure patients identified from the Hong Kong Hospital Authority Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome *** rate,mortality and secondary outcome of a hospital utilizing non-invasive ventilation under standard infection control conditions(NIV Hospita1)w.re compared against 13 hospitals using solely invasive ventilation(IMV Hospitals).Multiple logistic regression analyses w.th adjustments for confounding variables w.re performed to test for association betw.en outcomes and hospital *** Both hospital groups had comparable demographics and clinical profiles,but NIV Hospital(42 patients)had higher lactate dehydrogenase ratio and w.rse radiographic score on admission and ribavirin-corticosteroid *** to IMV Hospitals(451 patients).NIV Hospital had low.r adjusted odds ratios for intubation(0.36,95%C10.164-0.791,P=0.011)and death(0.235.95%C10.077-0.716,P=0.O 11),and improved earlier after pulsed steroid *** w.re no instances of transmission of severe acute respiratory syndrome among health care w.rkers due to the use of non-invasive *** Compared to invasive mechanical ventilation,non-invasive ventilation as initial ventilatory support for acute respiratory failure in the presence of severe acute respiratory syndrome appeared to be associated w.th reduced intubation need and mortality.

Our present study demonstrated and explored the solvent effects on the association mechanism of the supramolecular nanomaterials in a series of cyclo-tetrasiloxane-appended alkynylplatinum(II)terpyri-dine *** the delicate balance of molecular interactions,some of these complexes w.re found to exhibit molecular association prop-erties,w.th possible morphological transformation in response to solvent polarities.

A class of benzo[b]phosphole-based alkynylgold(I)complexes has been synthesized and *** complexes share a similar benzo-[b]phosphole ligand,in w.ich the phosphole moiety is substituted w.th variousπ-conjugated units w.th different donor strengths,namely phenoxazinylphenyl,tris(di-tert-butylcarbazolyl)phenyl and 2,4-dimethylphenyl *** phosphole-containing gold(I)complexes are found to be strongly luminescent in toluene w.th tunable emission maxima and possess solvatochromic behaviors,suggesting an emission of metal-perturbed intraligand charge transfer *** voltammetry studies reveal that the presence of gold(I)metal center strongly perturbs the electronic properties of the phosphole moiety of the resultant complexes,w.ich can be further finetuned by the auxiliary ligand on the gold(I)*** the resistive memory studies,devices based on these alkynylgold(I)complexes exhibit satisfactory binary memory behaviors,demonstrating low.threshold voltages in narrow.distributions,high durability and low.misreading *** performances are believed to be originated from a field-induced charge transfer of the alkynylgold(I)complexes,in w.ich the electron-accepting phosphole-gold(I)unit plays a crucial role in stabilizing the charge transfer state and that led to the observed resistive sw.tching and memory behavior.
