Neuropeptides are crucial in regulation of a rich variety of developmental,physiological,and behavioral functions throughout the life cycle of *** an integrated approach of multiomics,we identified neuropeptide precursors in the greater wax moth galleria mellonella,which is a harmful pest of honeybee hives with a worldwide ***,a total of 63 and 67 neuropeptide precursors were predicted and annotated in the *** genome and transcriptome,in which 40 neuropeptide precursors were confirmed in the *** ***,we identified 12 neuropeptide precursor genes present in *** but absent in honeybees,which may be potential novel pesticide target *** hives were contaminated with heavy metals such as lead,enabling its bioaccumulation in *** bodies through the food chain,we performed transcriptome sequencing to analyze the effects of Pb stress on the mRNA expression level of *** neuropeptide *** treatment by Pb,the expression of neuropeptide F1 was found to be significantly downregulated,implying that this neuropeptide might be associated with responding to the heavy metal stress in *** study comprehensively identified neuropeptide precursors in ***,and discussed the effects of heavy metals on insect neuropeptides,with the example of *** results are valuable for future elucidation of how neuropeptides regulate physiological functions in *** and contribute to our understanding of the insect's environmental plasticity and identify potential new biomarkers to assess heavy metal toxicity in insects.

Enhancing growth, liver health, and bile acid metabolism of tilapia(Oreochromis niloticus) through combined cholesterol and bile acid supplementation in plant-based diets

The present study aimed to compare the nutritional effects of cholesterol, bile acids, and combination of cholesterol with bile acids in plant-based diets on juvenile genetically improved farmed tilapia(gIFT;Oreochromis niloticus). The isonitrogenous(321 g/kg crude protein) and isolipidic(76 g/kg crude fat) diets(Con diet) were based on plant protein sources, which included corn gluten meal, soybean meal, cottonseed meal and rapeseed meal. The Con diet was supplemented with 12 g/kg cholesterol(CHO diet), 0.2 g/kg bile acids(BAs diet), a combination of 12 g/kg cholesterol and 0.2 g/kg bile acids(CHO-BAs diet),respectively. Each diet was fed to three tanks in an indoor recirculating aquaculture system for 9 *** showed that compared to the Con group, fish had a higher weight gain rate, hepatosomatic index,and a lower feed conversion ratio in the CHO-BAs group. The highest levels of whole-fish fat and ash were found in the Con group. Serum parameters, including activities of alanine aminotransferase(ALT) and aspartate transaminase(AST), along with levels of glucose(gLU) and triglyceride(Tg) except for total cholesterol(TCHO), were lower in the CHO, BAs, and CHO-BAs groups than those in the Con group(P gical examination revealed that fish in the Con group exhibited severe hepatocyte vacuolization and diminished hepatocyte proliferation. gene expression analysis indicated that the transcriptional levels of bile acid metabolism-related genes(including fxr, fgf19, bsep) were up-regulated in the CHO-BAs group(P genes(acly and hmgcr) were downregulated in both CHO and CHO-BAs groups(P gher taurine-conjugated bile acids(T-BAs), followed by free bile acids(Free-BAs) and glycine(g-BAs)were determined in tilapia bile. “Three Beauties”Principle in the English Versions of“Jing Ye Si”--Translations by Xu and Fletcher as Examples

“Jing Ye Si”is a classical poem with international influence by the Chinese poet Li Bai in the Tang Dynasty,which expresses the poet’s deep *** paper compares and analyzes its two English versions translated by the Chinese translator Xu Yuanchong and the British translator *** based on the“three beauties”principle(beauty in sense,beauty in sound,and beauty in form),and discovers that the English version of Xu basically achieves the unity of the“three beauties”,while the English version of Fletcher realizes the“beauty in sound and form”,but deviates from the“beauty in sense”mainly owing to the inaccurate comprehension of the moon as an image and other *** analysis may afford us with certain reference in poetry translation.

BACKgROUND The study aimed to analyze the characteristic clinical manifestations of patients with intestinal disease Meckel’s diverticulum(MD)complicated by digestive tract ***,we aimed to evaluate the value of double-balloon enteroscopy(DBE)in MD diagnosis and the prognosis after laparoscopic diverticula *** To evaluate the value of DBE in the diagnosis and the prognosis after laparoscopic diverticula resection for MD with *** The study retrospectively analyzed relevant data from 84 MD patients treated between January 2015 and March 2022 and recorded their clinical manifestations,auxiliary examination,and follow-up after laparoscopic resection of ***(1)Among 84 MD patients complicated with hemorrhage,77 were male,and 7 were female with an average age of 31.31±10.75 *** incidence was higher in men than in women of different ages;(2)Among the 84 MD patients,65(78.40%)had defecated dark red stools,and 50(58.80%)had no accompanying symptoms during bleeding,indicating that most MD bleeding appeared a dark red stool without accompanying symptoms;(3)The shock index of 71 patients(85.20%)wasggesting that the blood loss of most MD patients was less than 20%–30%,and only a few patients had a blood loss of>30%;(4)The DBE-positive rate was 100%(54/54),99mTcpertechnetate-positive scanning rate was 78%(35/45)compared with capsule endoscopy(36%)and small intestine computed tomography(19%).These results suggest that DBE and 99mTc-pertechnetate scans had significant advantages in diagnosing MD and bleeding,especially DBE was a highly precise examination method in MD diagnosis;(5)A total of 54 MD patients with hemorrhage underwent DBE examination before *** endoscopy revealed many mucosal manifestations including normal appearance,inflammatory changes,ulcerative changes,diverticulum inversion,and nodular hyperplasia,with ulcerative changes being the most common(53.70%).This suggests that diverticular mucosal u

Objective To clarify the potential mechanism of Banxia Xiexin Decoction(BXD)on colorectal cancer(CRC)from the perspective of *** Forty male C57BL/6 mice were randomly divided into normal control(NC),azoxymethane/dextran sulfate sodium(AOM/DSS)model,low-dose BXD(L-BXD),high-dose BXD(H-BXD)and mesalamine(MS)groups according to a random number table,8 mice in each *** cancer model was induced by AOM/*** was administered daily at doses of 3.915(L-BXD)and 15.66 g/kg(H-BXD)by gavage for consecutive 21 days,and 100 mg/kg MS was used as positive *** the entire modeling cycle,colon length of mice was measured and quantity of colorectal tumors were *** spleen and thymus index were determined by calculating the spleen/thymus weight to body *** cytokine and changes of serum metabolites were analyzed by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay kits and ultra performance liquid chromatography-quadrupole/time-of-flight mass spectrometry(UPLC-Q/TOF-MS),*** Notably,BXD supplementation protected against weight loss,mitigated tumor formation,and diminished histologic damage in mice treated with AOM/DSS(Pgroup,102 kinds of differential metabolites were screened in the AOM/DSS group,including 48 potential biomarkers,involving 18 main metabolic *** 18 potential biomarkers related to CRC were identified,and the anti-CRC mechanism of BXD was closely related to D-glutamine and D-glutamate metabolism,phenylalanine,tyrosine and tryptophan biosynthesis,arginine biosynthesis,nitrogen metabolism and so *** BXD exerts partial protective effects on AOM/DSS-induced CRC by reducing inflammation,protecting organism immunity ability,and regulating amino acid metabolism.
