An on-line solid phase extraction-high performance liquid chromatography-tandem mass spectrometry method for the analysis of perfluoroalkyl substances（PFASs） in water samples was developed.The optimal analytical conditions were obtained through the optimization of the extraction efficiency of online solid phase extraction column,sample loading rate and loading volume,and the concentration of ammonium acetate in mobile phase.Under the optimal condition,the analytical method displayed good linearity（r^2〉0.99） for 12 PFASs（C5-C14 perfluoroalkyl carboxylic acids and C6/C8 perfluoroalkyl sulfonic acids） over a concentration range of 0.5-100 ng/L.The limits of quantitation for samples were between 0.025 ng/L and 0.5 ng/L and the relative standard deviations（RSD） of five consecutive analyses were less than 10%for 1 ng/L standard solution.Satisfactory results were obtained using this analytical method for the analysis of perfluoroalkyl substances in Antarctic ice core samples.The recoveries of all perfluoroalkyl substances were in a range of 73%-117%when the samples were spiked with standards at the concentrations of 2.5 ng/L and 25 ng/L.

Canadian specularite concentrate（CSC） possesses high total iron grade and low impurity content. However, due to the poor granulating performance and weak reactivity of CSC at high temperature, the proportion of CSC used in sintering blends is restricted. In this research, the effects of fine limonite, slake lime, and bentonite particles on the granulation performance of blends containing a high ratio of CSC were studied through granulation test. Based on the test results, the effects of modification of the binding medium on the sintering performance of blends containing a high ratio of CSC were revealed by the sintering pot test. Both the granulation property and sintering performance of blends with a high proportion of CSC were improved by modifying the binding medium.

Objective:To study the protective mechanism of Chinese medicine Suxiao Jiuxin Pills(速效救心丸,SXJ)on myocardial ischemia and reperfusion(I/R)injury.Methods:Mouse myocardial I/R injury model was created by 30-min coronary artery occlusion followed by 24-h reperfusion,the mice were then divided into the sham group(n=7),the I/R group(n=13),the tirofiban group(TIR,positive drug treatment,n=9),and the SXJ group(n=11).Infarct size(IS),risk region(RR),and left ventricle(LV)were analyzed with double staining methods.In addition,H9C2 rat cardiomyocytes were cultured with Na2S2O4 to simulate I/R in vitro.The phosphorylation of extracellular regulated protein kinases1/2(ERK1/2),protein kinase B(AKT),glycogen synthase kinase-3β(GSK3β),and protein expression of GATA4 in nucleus were detected with Western blot assay.Results:The ratio of IS/RR in SXJ and TIR groups were lower than that in I/R group(SXJ,22.4%±6.6%;TIR,20.8%±3.3%;vs.I/R,35.4%±3.7%,P<0.05,respectively).In vitro experiments showed that SXJ increased the Na2S2O4-enhanced phosphorylation of AKT/GSK3βand nuclear expression of GATA4.Conclusion:SXJ prevents myocardial I/R injury in mice by activating AKT/GSK3βand GATA4 signaling pathways.

Aqueous zinc-ion batteries have attracted much attention due to their high theoretical capacity,low cost high safety,and eco-friendly.However,challenges such as dendrite growth and side reactions severely hinder the electrochemical performance of the Zn anode,leading to low Coulombic efficiency (CE) or even short circuits Herein,phenolic resin (PF) is used as a protective coating on the surface of the zinc metal electrode.The PF layer can greatly improve the corrosion resistance of the Zn electrode in the electrolyte.Importantly,this artificial electrode/electrolyte interphase also elevates the nucleation barrier and restrains Zn2+2D diffusion,regulating the zinc deposition/dissolution behavior.As a result,PF@Zn symmetric cells exhibit superior performance than that of bare Zn symmetric cells,achieving a stable and dendrite-free cycle of 1400 h.Furthermore,the carbon nanotube MnO2||PF@Zn (CNT/MnO2||PF@Zn) full cell also delivers a long cycle life with a high-capacity retention of about 180.0 m Ah·g-1after 1400 cycles,far exceeding that of bare Zn anode.This work provides a facile strategy for achieving a dendrite-free and rechargeable zinc anode.

Background:As reported,γ-tubulin(TuBG1)is related to the occurrence and development of various types of malignant tumors.However,its role in hepatocellular cancer(HCC)is not clear.The present study was to investigate the relationship between TuBG1 and clinical parameters and survival in HCC patients.Methods:The correlation between TuBG1 and clinical parameters and survival in HCC patients was ex-plored by bioinformatics analysis.Immunohistochemistry was used for the verification.The molecular function of TuBG1 was measured using colony formation,scratch assay,trans-well assay and flow cytometry.Gene set enrichment analysis(GSEA)was used to pick up the enriched pathways,followed by investigating the target pathways using Western blotting.The tumor-immune system interactions and drug bank database(TISIDB)was used to evaluate TuBG1 and immunity.Based on the TuBG1-related immune genes,a prognostic model was constructed and was further validated internally and externally.Results:The bioinformatic analysis found high expressed TuBG1 in HCC tissue,which was confirmed us-ing immunohistochemistry and Western blotting.After silencing the TuBG1 in HCC cell lines,more G1 arrested cells were found,cell proliferation and invasion were inhibited,and apoptosis was promoted.Furthermore,the silence of TuBG1 increased the expressions of Ataxia-Telangiectasia and Rad-3(ATR),phospho-P38 mitogen-activated protein kinase(P-P38MAPK),phospho-P53(P-P53),B-cell lymphoma-2 associated X protein(Bax),cleaved caspase 3 and P21;decreased the expressions of B-cell lymphoma-2(Bcl-2),cyclin D1,cyclin E2,cyclin-dependent kinase 2(CDK2)and CDK4.The correlation analysis of immunohistochemistry and clinical parameters and survival data revealed that TuBG1 was negatively corre-lated with the overall survival.The constructed immune prognosis model could effectively evaluate the prognosis.Conclusions:The increased expression of TuBG1 in HCC is associated with poor prognosis,which might be involved in the occurrence and development of HCC.

Molybdenum(Mo)-based nanomaterials have been widely used in biomedical fields due to their various nanostructures and unique physical/chemical properties.Although various reviews have described the development of Mo-based materials in the biomedical field,an objective and comprehensive summary and analysis of research trends in this field is still rare.Therefore,we used the bibliometric analysis method to analyze all relevant literature on the biological application of Mobased nanomaterials in recent years.First,we use bibliometric tools to analyze the dataset by year,country/region,institution and research hotspot to obtain the research trends.Next,based on objectively identified research hotspots,the biomedical applications of Mo-based nanomaterials are reviewed comprehensively,mainly including sensors,cancer imaging/therapy and antibacterial applications.Finally,we discussed the application prospects and challenges of Mo-based materials.This article provides a new perspective to understand the current research progress and further promote the development of Mobased nanomaterials in biomedical research.

Heavy oil is characterized by high viscosity.High viscosity makes it challenging to recover and transport.HZSM-5,MoO_(3)/HZSM-5,ZrO_(2)/HZSM-5 and MoO_(3)–ZrO_(2)/HZSM-5 catalysts were developed to promote in situ desulfurization and viscosity reduction of heavy oil.The physical and chemical properties of catalysts were characterized by XPS,XRD,TEM,NH3-TPD,etc.The effects of temperature,catalyst type and addition amount on viscosity and composition of heavy oil were evaluated.The results showed that the presence of MoO_(3)–ZrO_(2)/HZSM-5 nanoparticles during aquathermolysis could improve the oil quality by reducing the heavy fractions.It reduced viscosity by 82.56%after the reaction at 280℃ and catalyst addition of 1 wt%.The contents of resins and asphaltic in the oil samples were 5.69%lower than that in the crude oil.Sulfur content decreased from 1.45%to 1.03%.The concentration of H2S produced by the reaction was 2225 ppm.The contents of sulfur-containing functional groups sulfoxide and sulfone sulfur in the oil samples decreased by 19.92%after the catalytic reaction.The content of stable thiophene sulfur increased by 5.71%.This study provided a basis for understanding the mechanism of heavy oil desulfurization and viscosity reduction.

Background:The association of lipids and cancer has varied greatly among different cancer types,lipid components and study populations.This study is aimed to investigate the association of serum lipids and the risk of malignant lesions in esophageal squamous epithelium.Methods:In the"Endoscopic Screening for Esophageal Cancer in China"(ESECC)trial,serum samples were collected and tested for total cholesterol(TC),triglycerides,low-density lipoprotein cholesterol(LDL-C),and high-density lipoprotein cholesterol at the time of subject enrollment.Cases were defined as malignant esophageal lesions identified by baseline endoscopic examination or by follow-up to May 31,2018.Controls were randomly selected using incidence density sampling in the same cohort.Conditional logistic models were applied to identify the association of serum lipids and the risk of malignant esophageal lesions.Effect modification was evaluated by testing interaction terms of the factor under assessment and these serum lipid indicators.Results:No consistent association between serum lipid levels and esophageal malignant lesions were found in a pooled analysis of 211 cases and 2101 controls.For individuals with a family history of esophageal cancer(EC),high TC,and LDL-C were associated with a significantly increased risk of having malignant lesions(odds ratio[OR]Highvs.Low TC=2.22,95%confidence interval[CI]:1.14-4.35;ORHighvs.Low LDL-C=1.93,95%CI:1.01-3.65).However,a negative association was observed in participants without an EC family history(ORHighvs.Low TC=0.69,95%CI:0.48-0.98,Pinteraction=0.002;ORHighvs.Low LDL-C=0.50,95%CI:0.34-0.76,Pinteraction<0.001).Conclusions:In this study,we found that the association of serum lipids and malignant esophageal lesions might be modified by EC family history.The stratified analysis would be crucial for population-based studies investigating the association of serum lipids and cancer.The mechanism by which a family history of EC modifies this association warrants further investigation.

BACKGROUND The novel coronavirus disease 2019(COVID-19)has spread widely around the world with strong infectivity,rapid mutation and a high mortality rate.Mechanical ventilation has been included in the Diagnosis and Treatment Protocol for Novel Coronavirus Pneumonia(Trial Version 8)as an important treatment for severe and critical COVID-19 patients,but its clinical efficacy in COVID-19 patients is various.Therefore,it is necessary to study the influencing factors on the efficacy of mechanical ventilation in severe and critical COVID-19 patients.AIM The aim of this study was to determine the influencing factors on the efficacy of mechanical ventilation in severe and critical COVID-19 patients.METHODS A total of 27 severe and critical COVID-19 patients were enrolled in this study and treated with mechanical ventilation at the Optical Valley Campus of Hubei Maternal and Child Health Care Hospital(Wuhan,Hubei Province)from February 20,2020 to April 5,2020.According to the final treatment outcomes,the patients were divided into the“effective group”and“death group.”The clinical data of the two groups,such as the treatment process and final outcome,were retrospectively analyzed in order to determine the specific curative effects on the two groups and the reasons for the differences in such curative effects,as well as to explore the factors related to death.RESULTS This study enrolled 27 severe and critical COVID-19 patients,including 17 males(63.0%)and 10 females(37.0%).Their ages were 74.41±11.73-years-old,and 19 patients(70.4%)were over 70-years-old.Severe COVID-19 patients over 70-yearsold who were treated with mechanical ventilation died in 14 cases(82.4%);thus,this was the peak age.A total of 17 patients died of basic disease,16 of whom had more than two basic diseases.The basic diseases were hypertension,diabetes,and cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases.At the same time,13 patients(76.5%)died from an abnormal increase in blood glucose.Among them,eight had diabetes before contracting COVID-19 and five had a

Objective:To investigate the prevale nee and spectrum of complementary and alternative medicine(CAM)application and its related-factors in Parkinson's disease(PD)patients in China.Methods:A structured questionnaire regarding the use of CAMs was administered to PD patients by face-to-face interview.Demographic and social variables,clinical characteristics and treatments,and the related factors of PD were also surveyed.Results:Ninety out of 113 patients(79.6%)reported that they had received CAMs treatment,of which 48.6%(55/113)patients had received CAMs treatment for PD.The top 3 kinds of CAMs for PD were Chinese materia medica,rehabilitation exercise,and acupuncture ordinally.The source of information regarding CAMs treatment mainly came from relatives and friends(51.8%,73 cases),followed by physicians(31.9%,45 cases),and medias such as television,newspapers or the internet(16.3%,28 cases).Fifty percent of CAM users reported a good therapeutic efficacy,whereas 39% patients reported that they felt neither better nor worse after the treatment,while 11% patients claimed worsening of symptoms.Multiple correspondence analyses survey found the main factors affecting the selectivity of CAMs ranked in the following order:in come,education,occupati on,habitati on,age at on set,Hoeh n and yahr staging,PD durati on,and gen der.Conclusion:CAMs,especially Chin ese materia medica,rehabilitation exercise,and acupuncture,are widely used for PD patients in China.
