Strain sensor on a chip for quantifying the magnitudes of tensile stress on cells

During cardiac development,mechanotransduction from the in vivo microenvironment modulates cardiomyocyte growth in terms of the number,area,and arrangement ***,the response of cells to different degrees of mechanical stimuli is ***-on-a-chip,as a platform for investigating mechanical stress stimuli in cellular mimicry of the in vivo microenvironment,is limited by the lack of ability to accurately quantify externally induced ***,previous technology lacks the integration of external stimuli and feedback sensors in microfluidic platforms to obtain and apply precise amounts of external ***,we designed a cell stretching platform with an in-situ *** in-situ liquid metal sensors can accurately measure the mechanical stimulation caused by the deformation of the vacuum cavity exerted on *** platform was applied to human cardiomyocytes(AC16)under cyclic strain(5%,10%,15%,20 and 25%),and we found that cyclic strain promoted cell growth induced the arrangement of cells on the membrane to gradually unify,and stabilized the cells at 15%amplitude,which was even more effective after 3 days of *** platform’s precise control and measurement of mechanical forces can be used to establish more accurate in vitro microenvironmental models for disease modeling and therapeutic research.

The fascinating chemical structure and broad application prospect of Keggin-type polyoxometalates(POMs)have attracted many chemists to explore and discover *** the traditional Keggin,larger metal atomic radius,higher metal coordinated numbers,lower metal valence states and other features allow the group IVB metal-based Keggin(IVB-Keggin)more space and unknown in terms of structure and ***,density functional theory(DFT)calculations were performed to explore the influences including cores,shells,caps,and terminal ligands,et *** IVB-Keggin,and analyze the possibility of novel structure *** the perspective of multi-layer onion-like clusters,molecular energy level,host-guest interaction energy,surface charge and covalent bond polarity can be further adjusted to achieve the oriented design of functional *** insights are expected to provide theoretical support for experimental synthesis,opening a new perspective to understand the growth of Keggin.

Nitrogen-doped titanium dioxide/schwertmannite nanocomposites as heterogeneous photo-Fenton catalysts with enhanced efficiency for the degradation of bisphenol A

Potential health risks related to environmental endocrine disruptors(EEDs)have aroused research hotspots at the forefront of water treatment ***,nitrogen-doped titanium dioxide/schwertmannite nanocomposites(N-TiO_(2)/SCH)have been successfully developed as heterogeneous catalysts for the degradation of typical EEDs via photo-Fenton *** to the sustainable Fe(Ⅲ)/Fe(Ⅱ)conversion induced by photoelectrons,as-prepared N-TiO_(2)/SCH nanocomposites exhibit much enhanced efficiency for the degradation of bisphenol A(BPA;ca.100% within 60 min under visible irradiation)in a wide pH range of 3.0-7.8,which is significantly higher than that of the pristine schwertmannite(ca.74.5%)or N-TiO_(2)(ca.10.8%).In this photo-Fenton system,the efficient degradation of BPA is mainly attributed to the oxidation by hydroxyl radical(·OH)and singlet oxygen(^(1)O_(2)).Moreover,the possible catalytic mechanisms and reaction pathway of BPA degradation are systematically investigated based on analytical and photoelectrochemical *** work not only provides a feasible means for the development of novel heterogeneous photo-Fenton catalysts,but also lays a theoretical foundation for the potential application of mineral-based materials in wastewater treatment.

Influence of sea-land breeze on the formation and dissipation of severe dense fog and its burst reinforcement in the Yellow Sea coastal area,China

Based on the global reanalysis data of the national Centers for Environmental Prediction(NCEP)/national Center for Atmospheric Research,the surface meteorological observation data,sounding data and satellite observation data,this paper comprehensively analyzes the evolution process and formation mechanism of a persistent severe dense fog process occurred on February 15–17,2015 in yancheng,eastern *** the numerical simulation experiment of Weather Research and Forecast(WRF)model,we further analyze the impact of sea-land breeze on the formation and burst reinforcement of *** show that the precipitation caused by the southwesterly airflow in front of the upper-level trough and the low-pressure inverted trough are conducive to the formation of early rain fog,while the nighttime clear radiance under the control of surface cold high and the infiltration of weak cold advection are conducive to the formation and development of later radiation-advection *** WRF model simulates the fog evolution process,which is basically consistent with the actual fog area,and the simulation results are credible to a certain *** simulation results show that the establishment of sea breeze has an advection cooling effect on the near surface layer,which is conducive to the formation and development of the inversion layer on the near surface,providing stable stratification conditions for the formation and burst reinforcement of *** one hand,the strengthening of sea breeze circulation can continuously transport water vapor to the study *** the other,the occurrence of ultra-low level jet is favorable for the accumulation of low-level water *** the same time,the inversion intensity further strengthens,which is in favor of the burst reinforcement and long-term maintenance of fog.

Clinical analysis of 12 cases of ovarian neuroendocrine carcinoma

BACKGROUND Neuroendocrine neoplasms of the female genital tract are *** To enhance our clinical understanding of neuroendocrine carcinoma(NEC)of the *** A retrospective review was conducted on 12 patients diagnosed with NEC of the ovary,analyzing clinicopathological characteristics,treatment modalities,and survival *** The median age at diagnosis was 34.5 years(range:20 to 62 years).Among the 12 cases,9 were small cell carcinoma of the ovary and 3 were large cell *** cases were stage I tumors,one case was stage IV,and six cases were stage *** patients underwent surgery as part of their *** patients received adjuvant *** the 12 patients,one patient received radiotherapy,and one patient with a BRCA2 mutation was administered PARP inhibitor maintenance after *** median progression-free survival was 13 months,and the median overall survival was 19.5 *** cases remained disease-free,while eight cases experienced tumor recurrence,including three cases that resulted in death due to disease *** NEC of the ovary is a rare condition that is more common in women of childbearing age and is associated with aggressive behavior and poor clinical *** resection remains the mainstay of treatment,with some patients benefiting from adjuvant chemoradiation therapy.

This editorial discusses the article“Analysis of the impact of immunotherapy efficacy and safety in patients with gastric cancer and liver metastasis”published in the latest edition of the World Journal of Gastrointestinal *** has achieved outstanding success in tumor ***,the presence of liver metastasis(LM)restrains the efficacy of immunotherapy in various tumors,including lung cancer,colorectal cancer,renal cell carcinoma,melanoma,and gastric cancer.A decrease in CD8+T cells and nature killer cells,along with an increase in macrophages and regulatory T cells,was observed in the microenvironment of LM,leading to immunotherapy *** studies are necessary to determine the best strategy for enhancing the effectiveness of immunotherapy in patients with LM.

Real-world study(RWS)gained prominence starting with a significant investigation on ramipril’s impact on hypertension in 1993(1).A key advancement for the Food and Drug Administration(FDA)occurred with the enactment of the 21st Century Cures Act in 2016,emphasizing RWS(2).The FDA’s Real-world Evidence Program establishes real-world data(RWD)as“data relating to patient health status and/or the delivery of health care routinely collected from a variety of sources”,while real-world evidence(RWE)is“clinical evidence about the usage and potential benefits or risks of a medical product derived from analysis of RWD”(3).The proliferation of big data,electronic medical records(EMR),electronic health records(EHR),and medical claims data offers vast information resources facilitating *** access to RWD allows for worldwide monitoring of the impacts of various public health initiatives like vaccination *** randomized clinical trials(RCTs)traditionally gauge vaccine efficacy and shortterm safety,RWS can assess vaccine performance and safety across larger,more diverse populations and are adept at identifying rare events not easily discernible in RCTs due to their infrequency.

尖晶石结构LiNi_(0.5)Mn_(1.5)O_(4)(LNMO)材料因具备高工作电压、低成本和环境友好等优点,被认为是最具有发展前景的正极材料之一。然而,LNMO材料在充放电过程中表现出严重的表面失氧和Mn溶出反应,导致其整体电化学性能较差。采用前驱体Li_(3)PO_(4)包覆技术,在LNMO材料颗粒表面构建均匀的纳米包覆层,不仅提高了LNMO的循环稳定性和倍率性能,而且有效抑制了循环过程中阴极材料过渡金属溶出。结合X射线衍射仪、扫描电子显微技术、透射电子显微镜和电化学分析等测试手段,充分对比和分析Li_(3)PO_(4)包覆LNMO材料前后对微观结构和电化学性能的影响。该方法实现了Li_(3)PO_(4)的均匀包覆,并且没有改变LNMO正极材料的晶体结构。前驱体包覆3%Li_(3)PO_(4)的LNMO材料在1 C倍率下循环300圈容量保持率从无包覆的81.82%提升至包覆后的90.47%,2 C高倍率下的放电容量保持率从87.72%提升至92.39%,且EOL电芯阳极极片中过渡金属Mn溶出量明显降低。前驱体Li_(3)PO_(4)包覆策略是一种有效的材料表面改性策略,可以有效提升尖晶石型LNMO正极材料在循环过程中的结构稳定性和电化学性能。

The experimental realization of Rydberg dressing technology in ultracold atomic systems provides another superior platform for studying novel states of matter and macroscopic quantum *** this work,based on the mean-field theory,we have investigated the ground-state phases of a two-component Bose–Einstein condensate with Rydberg interaction and confined in a toroidal *** effects of the Rydberg interaction and external potential,especially the Rydberg blockade radius,on the ground-state structure of such a system have been investigated in full parameter *** results show that the Rydberg blockade radius,which can be regarded as another controllable parameter,can be used to obtain a variety of ground-state *** interestingly,it is found that for weak Rydberg interactions,the Rydberg blockade radius breaks the spontaneous rotational symmetry of the system,leading to the formation of a discrete unit cell *** strongly interacting cases,it can be used to realize different orders of discrete rotational symmetry breaking.
