Delayed neurological dysfunction following posterior laminectomy with lateral mass screw fixation:A case report and review of literature

BACKGROUND While most complications of cervical surgery are reversible,some,such as symptomatic postoperative spinal epidural hematoma(SEH),which generally occurs within 24 h,are associated with increased morbidity and *** neurological dysfunction is diagnosed in cases when symptoms present>3 d *** to its rarity,the risk factors for delayed neurological dysfunction are ***,this condition can result in irreversible neurological deficits and serious *** this paper,we present a case of postoperative SEH that developed three days after hematoma *** SUMMARY A 68-year-old man with an American Spinal Injury Association(ASIA)grade C injury was admitted to our hospital with neck pain and tetraplegia following a *** C3-C7 posterior laminectomy and the lateral mass screw fixation surgery were performed on the tenth ***,the patient showed no changes in muscle strength or ASIA *** patient experienced neck pain and subcutaneous swelling on the third day postoperatively,his muscle strength decreased,and his ASIA score was grade *** resonance imaging showed hypointense signals on T1 weighted image(T1WI)and T2WI located behind the epidural space,with spinal cord *** surgical intervention for the hematoma was performed 12 h after *** hypoproteinemia and pleural effusion did not improve in the perioperative period,the patient recovered to ASIA grade C on day 30 after surgery,and was transferred to a functional rehabilitation exercise *** This case shows that amelioration of low blood albumin and pleural effusion is an important aspect of the perioperative management of cervical *** to relieve the pressure on the spinal cord should be performed as soon as possible to decrease neurological disabilities.

Every year in china,a significant number of mines are closed or *** pumped hydroelectric storage(PHS)and geothermal utilization are vital means to efficiently repurpose resources in abandoned *** this work,the development potentials of the PHS and geothermal utilization systems were *** the geological conditions and meteorological data available of Jiahe abandoned mine,a simple evaluation model for PHS and geothermal utilization was *** average efficiency of the PHS system exceeds 70%and the regulatable energy of a unit volume is over 1.53 kW·h/m^(3).The PHS system achieves optimal performance when the wind/solar power ratio reaches 0.6 and 0.3 in daily and year scale,*** the geothermal utilization system,the outlet temperature and heat production are significantly affected by the injection flow *** heat production performance is more stable at lower rate flow,and the proportion of heat production is higher in the initial stage at greater flow *** the operating time increases,the proportion of heat production gradually *** cyclic heat storage status has obvious advantages in heat generation and ***,the energy-saving and emission reduction benefits of PHS and geothermal utilization systems were calculated.

在数字人脸时代,以人脸照片为代表的面部图像的信息属性亟待厘定,其争议焦点在于人脸照片与生物识别信息的关系。生物识别信息的概念由范围、技术与功能三要素构成。在人脸识别等第一代生物识别技术背景下,生物识别信息的范围要素是指“与自然人的身体、生理或行为特征有关”,技术要素为“经由识别或验证技术处理”,功能要素是“能够实现对自然人的已识别”。以情感计算和生物特征分类技术为代表的第二代生物识别技术的发展将扩展生物识别信息的内涵,即范围要素扩展至生物信号、技术要素加入了探测与分类技术、功能要素则新纳入可识别标准。对作为一般个人信息的人脸照片,技术要素是判断其能否归入生物识别信息的标准。在当下,已进入或即将进入识别、验证技术展开生物比对活动的人脸照片,应归属于生物识别信息;在将来,已进入或即将进入探测、分类技术的人脸照片,也应归属于广义的生物识别信息。

Objective:yiqi Fumai Lyophilized Injection(YQFM),a chinese medicine injection,has been widely used for the treatment of cardiovascular diseases,especially heart failure(HF).However,bioactive compounds and underlying mechanisms of YQFM in treating HF remain poorly *** and Methods:Network pharmacology was employed to investigate the bioactive compounds and mechanisms of YQFM.A compound-target network was constructed to screen bioactive compounds based on contribution index ***,an adriamycin-induced HF rat model was established to evaluate the cardio-protective effects of YQFM by hematoxylin and eosin staining and enzyme-linked immunosorbent ***:Network pharmacology indicated that YQFM may alleviate HF through 36 compounds and 109 ***,ginsenosides Rb1,Rg1,Re,Rf,Rb2,Rh1,schisandrin,and ginsenoside Rc were indicated as the top contributors of YQFM in treating *** was predicted to act on multiple targets such as vascular endothelial growth factor A,interleukin-2(IL-2),IL-6,and IL-1β,as well as to regulate signaling pathways such as hypoxia-inducible factor 1,tumor necrosis factor,VEGF,and *** pharmacological study suggested that YQFM could attenuate cardiac injury and up-regulate plasma concentrations of VEGFR-1 and NO in HF *** Rb1,as the major contributor from network pharmacology analysis,also showed a cardioprotective effect and up-regulation of VEGFR-1 in ***:Ginsenosides and schisandrin were predicted as the most important contributors to the cardioprotective effect of *** Rb1 was proved to alleviate HF and increase the plasma concentration of VEGFR-1.

Ferricyanide-promoted oxidative activation of Nacylatedα-aminothioacids for amide bond formation withα-aminonitriles was recently shown to be a plausible pathway for prebiotic peptide *** we describe the finding that by adding sodium azide and thiols,ferricyanide oxidation can elicit highly efficient and clean conversion of fully unprotected peptide or protein thioacids in neutral aqueous media to the corresponding *** transformation enables the development of ferricyanide-promoted thioacid-based native chemical ligation(NCL)as a new redox-based method for chemical protein synthesis,which does not need to change pH and is therefore operationally easy for ligation at small *** effectiveness of the ferricyanide-promoted thioacid-based NCL was illustrated by synthesis of an ISG15-modified MDA5 segment under nondenaturing conditions and synthesis of an acetylated ubiquitin(Ub)-modified histone H2A through an N-to-C sequential *** work broadens the concept of on-demand oxidative activation strategy for protein ligation and provides a new useful supplement to the repertoire of methods for chemical protein synthesis,particularly for studies on proteins carrying Ub family modifications.
