Ethnic Differences in Body Mass Index and Prevalence of Obesity in School Children of Urumqi City, Xinjiang, China

Objective To investigate the prevalence of obesity and distribution of body mass index （BMI） in school children of four ethnic groups in Urumqi, Xinjiang, China. Methods A total of 55 508 school children of Han, Hui, Uygur and Kazak nationalities aged 8-18 years were selected by a cluster sampling from a districts of Urumqi City for anthropometrie measurement and demographic survey. Prevalence of obesity and overweight and distribution of body mass index （BMI） by gender, age, and nationality were analyzed and compared. Cutoff points of BMI for defining obesity and overweight were based on the proposal set by the Working Group on Obesity in China （WGOC） to assess age-, gender- and nationality-specific prevalence of obesity and overweight. Results Prevalence of obesity was 5.34%, 6.78%, 3.39 %, and 1.22% for boys and 2.61%, 1.83%, 1.78%, and 1.40% for girls of Han, Hui, Uygur and Kazak nationalities, respectively. Prevalence of obesity tended to decrease with age overall, whereas that of overweight increased with age in Han children. Conclusions Prevalence of obesity in school children in Urumqi varies with their nationalities and is lower than that of an average national level and a level of western countries. Obesity is more prevalent in boys than in girls of Urmuqi overall, which is just the opposite in Kazak children. Han boys and Hui girls have the highest prevalence of obesity and Kazak boys and girls have the lowest ones. Prevalence of obesity decreases with age, but that of overweight shows a different trend.

Effects of Dachaihu Decoction and Its “Prescription Elements” on Intestinal Flora of Nonalcoholic Fatty liver Disease Model Rats

Objective:The study objective was to observe the effect of Dachaihu decoction and its "prescription elements" on intestinal flora of model rats with nonalcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD). Materials and Methods:Healthy male Sprague-Dawley rats were randomly divided into the following seven groups (n=105):normal, model, pioglitazone hydrochloride (PH), Shuganlidan, Jianpihuatan, Tongfuxiezhuo, and dachaihu decoction (DD). 16SrRNA high-throughput IIlumina sequencing platform was used for sequencing, and bioinformatics analysis of rat intestinal flora was done. Results:Compared with the normal group, rats in the model, PH, Shuganlidan, Jianpihuatan, Tongfuxiezhuo,and DD groups showed significant differences in the intestinal microflora structure. The microorganisms that play an important role in the normal group are Ruminococcaceae, Oscillospira, Lactobacillales, Lactobacillaceae, Lactobacillus, bacilli, Ruminococcus, TM7, Spirochaetes,Clostridium, Elusimicrobia, Elusimicrobiaceae, Elusimicrobiales, Lactobacillus helveticus, Lactobacillus reuteri, Elusimicrobium, RF39, and Christensenellaceae;in the model group are Ruminococcus gnavus;in the PH group are Prevotella, Paraprevotellaceae, and Blautia;in the Jianpihuatan group are Bacteroidetes, Bacteroidia, Bacteroidales, Roseburia, Rikenellaceae, and?Stridium methylpentosum;in the TongfuXiezhuo group are Bacteroidaceae, Bacteroides, Porphyromonadaceae, Parabacteroide, 4C0d2, Cyanobacteria, YS2, Parabacteroides distasonis,Bacteroides uniformis, Verrucomicrobiaceae, Verrucomicrobiae, Verrucomicrobiales, Akkermansia, Akkermansia muciniphila, Coprobacillus,Parabacteroides gordonii, Blautia producta, and Ruminococcus torques;and in the DD group are Erysipelotrichales, Erysipelotrichi, and Erysipelothrichaceae. Meta-analysis of the efficacy of probiotics in Helicobacter pylori eradication therapy

AIM: To evaluate the role of probiotics in the standard triple Helicobacter pylori therapy. METHODS: In this meta-analysis, we investigated the efficacy of probiotics in a standard triple H. pylori therapy in adults. Searches were mainly conducted in MEDliNE/PubMed, EMBASE, and the Cochrane Central Register of Controlled Trials. Fourteen studies met our criteria, and the quality of these studies was assessed using the Jadad scale. We used STATA version 12.0 to extract data and to calculate the odds ratios (ORs), which are presented with the corresponding 95% confidence intervals (CIs). The data are presented as forest plots. RESULTS: The pooled ORs for the eradication rates calculated by intention-to-treat analysis and per-protocol analysis in the probiotic group vs the control group were 1.67 (95%CI: 1.38-2.02) and 1.68 (95%CI: 1.35-2.08), respectively, using the fixed-effects model. The sensitivity of the Asian studies was greater than that of the Caucasian studies (Asian: OR = 1.78, 95%CI: 1.40-2.26; Caucasian: OR = 1.48, 95%CI: 1.06-2.05). The pooled OR for the incidence of total adverse effects was *** lower in the probiotic group (OR = 0.49, 95%CI: 0.26-0.94), using the random effects model, with significant heterogeneity (I-2 = 85.7%). The incidence of diarrhea was significantly reduced in the probiotic group (OR = 0.21, 95%CI: 0.06-0.74), whereas the incidence of taste disorders, metallic taste, vomiting, nausea, and epigastric pain did not differ significantly between the probiotic group and the control group. CONCLUSION: Supplementary probiotic preparations during standard triple H. pylori therapy may improve the eradication rate, particularly in Asian patients, and the incidence of total adverse effects. Background： Secondary preventive therapies play a key role in the prevention of adverse outcomes after coronary artery bypass grafting （CABG）. However, medication adherence alter CABG is often poor, and conventional interventions for improving adherence have limited success. With increasing penetration of smartphones, health-related smartphone applications might provide an opportunity to improve adherence. Carefully designed trials are needed to provide reliable evidence for the use of these applications in patients after CABG. Methods： The Measurement and Improvement Studies of Surgical Coronary Revascularization： Medication Adherence （MISSION-2） study is a multicenter randomized controlled trial, aiming to randomize 1000 CABG patients to the intervention or control groups in a 1 ： 1 ratio. We developed the multifaceted, patient-centered, smartphone-based Heart Health Application to encourage lnedication adherence in the intervention group through a health self management program initiated dnring hospital admission for CABG. The application integrated daily scheduled reminders to take the discharge medications, cardiac edticational materials, a dynamic dashboard to review cardiovascular risk factors and secondary prevention targets, and weekly questionnaires with interactive feedback. The primary outcome was secondary preventive medication adherence measured by the Chinese version of the 8-item Morisky Medication Adherence Scale at 6 months after randomization. Fused monochromatic imaging acquired by single source dual energy CT in hepatocellular carcinoma during arterial phase: an initial experience

Objective： To explore whether single and fused monochromatic images can improve liver tumor detection and delineation by single source dual energy CT （ssDECT） in patients with hepatocellular carcinoma （HCC） during arterial phase. Methods： Fifty-seven patients with HCC who underwent ssDECT scanning at Beijing Cancer Hospital were enrolled retrospectively. Twenty-one sets of monochromatic images from 40 to 140 keV were reconstructed at 5 keV intervals in arterial phase. The optimal contrast-noise ratio （CNR） monochromatic images of the liver tumor and the lowest-noise monochromatic images were selected for image fusion. We evaluated the image quality of the optimal-CNR monochromatic images, the lowest-noise monochromatic images and the fused monochromatic images, respectively. The evaluation indicators included the spatial resolution of the anatomical structure, the noise level, the contrast and CNR of the tumor. Results： In arterial phase, the anatomical structure of the liver can be displayed most clearly in the 65-keV monochromatic images, with the lowest image noise. The optimal-CNR monochromatic images of HCC tumor were 50-keV monochromatic images in which the internal structural features of the liver tumors were displayed most clearly and meticulously. For tumor detection, the fused monochromatic images and the 50-keV monochromatic images had similar performances, and were more sensitive than 65-keV monochromatic images. Conclusions： We achieved good arterial phase images by fusing the optimal-CNR monochromatic images of the HCC tumor and the lowest-noise monochromatic images. The fused images displayed liver tumors and anatomical structures more clearly, which is potentially helpful for identifying more and smaller HCC tumors.

以对苯二胺、棕榈酰氯、2-氯乙基磺酸钠为主要原料,经取代和酰化等反应合成了一种磺酸盐型双子表面活性剂——N,N'-双棕榈酰基对苯二胺二乙基磺酸钠(DS16-P-16),用FTIR、~1HNMR对中间体和目标产物进行了结构表征,并测定了其水溶性、表&界面活性、泡沫性能和乳化性能。结果表明:在25℃时,DS16-P-16的临界胶束浓度(CMC为5.01×10^(-4) mol/L)是传统表面活性剂十二烷基硫酸钠(SDS)的6.26%,pC20(水的表面张力降低20 mN/m时所需溶液浓度的负对数)为3.61,表现出更好的降低水表面张力的效率;随着温度和溶液浓度的增大,DS16-P-16溶液与吉林油田原油的界面张力逐渐降低,且均低于1×10^(-2) mN/m,在45℃下,质量分数为0.5%的该溶液可将油水界面张力降低至1.46×10^(-2) mN/m;在质量分数为0.1%时,DS16-P-16溶液的初始起泡高度为28 cm,稳泡率可达93%,乳状液稳定时间为437 s。相同条件下,质量分数为0.1%的十二烷基硫酸钠的初始起泡高度为15 cm,稳泡率为60%,乳化时间为128 s。

Results:In all 65 patients,41 cases (41/65,63.1%;Group 1)had normal immunity and 24 cases (24/65,36.9%;Group 2)had at least one identifiable underlying ***,higher percentage of neutrophil (NEUT)in white blood cell (WBC),and increased cell number of cerebral spinal fluid (CSF)were much common in patients with underlying disease (Group 1 *** 2:Fever:21/41 vs.21/24,x^2 =8.715,P =0.003;NEUT in WBC:73.15%vs.79.60%,Z=-2.370,P =0.018;cell number of CSF:19 vs.200,Z=-4.298,P lia among patients with identifiable underlying disease (Group 1 *** 2:20/41 vs.20/24,x^2 =7.636,P =0.006).The number of the involved brain areas in patients with identifiable underlying disease were well correlated with the number of cells and pressure of CSF (r =-0.472,P =0.031,r =0.779,P =0.039;respectively). BACKGROUND Blonanserin(BNS)is a well-tolerated and effective drug for treating *** To investigate which types of patients would obtain the most benefit from BNS *** A total of 3306 participants were evaluated in a 12-week,prospective,multicenter,open-label post-marketing surveillance study of *** psychiatric rating scale(BPRS)scores were calculated to evaluate the effectiveness of BNS,and its safety was assessed with the incidence of adverse drug *** regression was used to screen the influencing factors for the reduction of BPRS total score,and logistic regression was used to identify patients with a better response to *** The baseline BPRS total score(48.8±15.03)decreased to 27.7±10.08 at 12 weeks(Pline BPRS total score,current episode duration,number of previous episodes,dose of concomitant antipsychotics,and number of types of sedative-hypnotic agents were found to be independent factors affecting the reduction of BPRS total score after treatment ***,patients in the acute phase with baseline BPRS total score≥45,current episode duration<3 months,and≤3 previous episodes derived greater benefit from 12-week treatment with *** Patients in the acute phase with more severe symptoms,shorter current episode duration,fewer previous episodes,and a lower psychotropic drug load derived the greatest benefit from treatment with BNS.
