Contribution of additives Cu to its accumulation in pig feces: study in beijing and Fuxin of china

Massive amounts of pig manure are produced by intensive pig farm in china, and the composition of pig manure has changed much due to the use of feed additives. However, little is known about the exact Cu （copper） feed as additives or present as contaminants in pig feed and the residues in feces. One hundred and thirty-seven feeds and one hundred and forty-two fecal samples from 48 pig farms were collected in beijing and Fuxin cities in 1999 and 2005, respectively. The concentrations of Cu were in the range of 6.86-395.19 mg/kg in the feed samples, and the mean values were in the order of weaner〉 grower-finisher〉 sow＇s feeds. The high concentrations over EU recommendations implied that excessive levels of Cu are fed on many pig farms in beijing and Fuxin. Cu was also present in high concentrations in feces, and concentrations were highly variable. Cu concentrations in the feces from grower-finisher and weaner pigs were significantly greater than feces of sows. The super-intensive and small-scale farms had higher levels of Cu in feces than the middle farms. Cu concentrations in pig feces were approximately 5-times greater than in pig feeds. Feed management in grower-finisher pigs on super-intensive and small-scale pig farms is needed to reduce high Cu concentrations in feces and risks to soil contamination while feces are land-applied.

Salicylic acid(SA) is an important signaling substance that plays an important role in plant growth, development and disease *** order to further understand the role of the SA pathway in potato disease resistance and identify SA signaling key genes, gene expression profiling of the late blight resistance genotype SD20 was performed under exogenous SA application. A total of 28 572 unigenes were assembled,of which 4 564 were differentially expressed. Analysis of differentially expressed genes(DEGs) showed that multiple signaling pathways such as SA, jasmonic acid, ethylene, abscisic acid, auxin, and brassinolide were involved in response to exogenous SA. Many plant defense signalrelated genes involved in protein serine/threonine kinase activity and plant-pathogen interaction, were significantly enriched. These were consistent with the interaction results of SD20 and Phytophthora infestans in our previous study, indicating that exogenous SA stimulated the resistance response and initiated a similar defense pathway compared to pathogen infection in SD20, which confirmed crosstalk of the SA signaling pathway with a pathogen-induced disease resistance signal pathway in plant. Moreover, transcriptome analysis revealed that ROS1 was positively regulated by SA in potato for the first time. SA-induced gene expression profiling provides insight into SA signaling and its mechanisms in disease defense systems.

The solubility of Au in silicate melts and fluids governs the enrichment and migration of Au during the formation of magmatic-hydrothermal Au *** Au deposits require vast amounts of Au to migrate from the upper mantle-lower crust to the shallow crust,and high Au solubility in magma and hydrothermal fluid facilitates the formation of Au-rich magma and fluid in the crust and mantle source and efficient *** paper reviews recent high-pressure and high-temperature experimental studies on Au species in magmas and hydrothermal fluids,the partitioning behavior of Au between silicate melts and fluids,and the effects of temperature,pressure,oxygen fugacity,sulfur fugacity,silicate melt composition,and volatiles(H2O,CO2,chlorine,and sulfur)on the solubility of Au in *** show that the solubility of Au in magma is largely controlled by the volatiles in the magma:the higher the content of reduced sulfur(S2-and HS-)in the magma,the higher the solubility of *** high-temperature,high-pressure,H2O-rich,and intermediate oxygen fugacity conditions,magma can dissolve more reduced sulfur species,thus enhancing the ability of the magma to transport *** the ore-forming elements of the Au deposits in the North china Craton originate from mantle-derived magmas and fluids,we can conclude,in terms of massive Au migration,that these deep Au-rich magmas might have been generated under H2 O-rich and moderately oxidized conditions(S2-coexists with S6+).The big mantle wedge beneath East Asia was metasomatized by melts and fluids from the dehydration of the Early Cretaceous paleo-Pacific stagnant slab,which not only caused thinning of the North china Craton,but also created physicochemical conditions favorable for massive Au migration.

Efficiency and Mechanism of Phosphorus Removal by Coagulation of Iron-manganese Composited Oxide

Iron-manganese composited oxide（FeMnO） was prepared with potassium permanganate and ferrous salt. Interface performance, charge property and structure topography of the FeMnO were investigated. Coagulation efficiency and pollution removal mechanism of the FeMnO were approached. Results show that the main compositions of the FeMnO are δ-manganese dioxide and ferric hydroxide. The specific surface area is about 146.22 m^2/g. The FeMnO contains rich hydroxyl with extremely strong adsorption action and chemical adsorption activity. The zero charge point of the oxide in pure water is about 8.0 of pH value. Under neutral pH value conditions, the FeMnO particle surface carried positive charges. The FeMnO particles are quasi-spherical micro-particles with irregular sizes adjoined each other to form net construction. Phosphorus removal efficiency of the FeMnO is remarkable, the total dissoluble phosphorus of settled water can be reduced below detecting level（0.3 μtg/L） at a FeMnO dosage of 6 mg/L, and total phosphorus below detecting level at a FeMnO dosage of 10 mg/L, for water samples containing total phos- phorus of 1281.70 μg/L and total dissoluble phosphorus of 1187.91 μtg/L. The mechanism of effective coagulation for phosphorus removal is combined results of multiple actions of adsorption, charge neutralization, adsorption/bridging and so on.

TiNi alloys with high content Ni(52-55 at.%)are perfectly suitable for preparing wear-and corrosionresistant parts that service on the space station,spacecraft,and submarine,because of their superior superelasticity,high strength,and ***,the fabrication of complicated Ni-rich TiNi parts by the traditional machining method often faces problems of poor precision,low efficiency,and high *** this work,we succeed in preparing an excellent Ti_(47)Ni_(53) alloy by selective laser melting(SLM),and thus,open a new way for the efficient and precise formation of complicated Ni-rich TiNi parts with superelasticity and *** optimized processing window for compact parts without defects is *** elaborately fabricated Ti_(47)Ni_(53) alloy exhibited a breaking strain of 11%,a breaking stress of 2.0 GPa,a superelastic strain of 9%,and a better hardwearing than that of casting and quenched Ti_(47)Ni_(53) ***,the microstructure,phase transformation,and deformation,as well as their influence mechanisms are investigated by in situ transmission electron microscope(TEM)and high-energy X-ray diffraction(HE-XRD).The results obtained are of significance for both fundamental research and technological applications of SLM-fabricated high Ni content TiNi alloys.

Pseudogenes are important resources for investigation of genome evolution and genomic diversity because they are nonfunctional but have regulatory effects that influence plant adaptation and ***,few systematic comparative analyses of pseudogenes in closely related species have been ***,we present a turnip(Brassica rapa ***)genome sequence and characterize pseudogenes among diploid Brassica species/*** results revealed that the number of pseudogenes was greatest in Brassica oleracea(CC genome),followed by ***(AA genome)and then Brassica nigra(BB genome),implying that pseudogene differences emerged after species *** Brassica AA genomes,pseudogenes were distributed asymmetrically on chromosomes because of numerous chromosomal insertions/rearrangements,which contributed to the diversity among *** differences among subspecies were reflected in the flavor-related glucosinolate(GSL)***,turnip had the highest content of pungent substances,probably because of expansion of the methylthioalkylmalate synthase-encoding gene family in turnips;these genes were converted into pseudogenes in *** ***(Chiifu).RNA interference-based silencing of the gene encoding 2-oxoglutarate-dependent dioxygenase 2,which is also associated with flavor and anticancer substances in the GSL pathway,resulted in increased abundance of anticancer compounds and decreased pungency of turnip and *** findings revealed that pseudogene differences between turnip and Chiifu influenced the evolution of flavor-associated GSL metabolism-related genes,ultimately resulting in the different flavors of turnip and Chiifu.
