Si1.xCx alloys of carbon (C) concentration between 0.6%-1.0% were grown in Si by ion implantation and high temperature annealing. The formation of Si1.xCx alloys under different ion doses and their stability during annealing were studied. If the implanted dose was less than that for amorphizing Si crystals, the implanted C atoms would like to combine with defects produced during implantation and it was difficult to form Si1.xCx alloys after being annealed at 850℃. With the increment of implanted C ion doses, the lattice damage increased and it was easier to form Si1.xCx alloys. But the lattice strain would become saturate and only part of implanted carbon atoms would occupy the substitutional positions to form Si1.xCx alloys as the implanted carbon dose increased to a certain degree. Once Si1.xCx alloys were formed, they were stable at 950℃, but part of their strain would release as the annealing temperature increased to 1.000℃. Implantation experiments of low energy（1.keV1. keV）hydrogen ion beamson hydrogen loaded metals are performed with high beam density(Jmax1.2 mA/cm2)and lowbeam density(Jmin0.02 mA/cm2).Palladium and titanium foils（plates）are bombarded withproton and deuteron beams in order to compare the atomic and nuclear interactions between dif-ferent ion beams.X-ray and charged particles are measured,and neutron and gamma doses arealso monitored during the implantation *** anomalous peak in X-spectra,whoseenergy is about four times the beam energy,is observed during the high beam density *** peak moves from about 40 keV to 62 keV and FWHM reduces rapidly,while thebeam energy and intensity *** wide peak with over twice the beam energy is mea-sured in experiment with low beam *** is located between 1. keV and 30 keV,and itspeak energy increases with the increase of implantation dose（implantation time）.Some anoma-lous intensities of neutrons correlated with a charged particle peak（2.93,3.85 MeV）are alsoobserved in the deuteron-palladium *** highest neutron intensity reaches about8×1.4 n/s,while the beam energy and intensity are about 1. keV and 1.0 mA,respectively.

This article concerns the investigation of blood protein adsorption on carbon paper and multi-wall carbon nanotubes (MWCNTs). Mouse fibroblast cell adhesion and growth on MWCNTs was also studied. The results showed that fibrinogen adsorption on carbon paper was much lower than that on MWCNTs, which means that platelets readily aggregate on the surface of MWCNTs. Mouse fibroblast cells implanted on MWCNTs tended to grow more prolifically than those implanted on carbon paper. The cell concentration observed on MWCNTs increased from 1.2×1.5/mL for a single day culture to 2×1.5/mL for a 7-day culture. No toxicity reaction was observed during the culturing period. These results indicated that MWCNTs possessed excellent tissue compatibility.

Using nanoparticles of CeO2 and ZrO2 prepared by the chemical precipitation method as starting materials, the single-phase cubic Ce0.5Zr0.5O2 solid solution (c-Ce0.5Z0.5O2) has been synthesized under 3.1.GPa at 1.73 K for the first time. The structure of the c-Ce0.5Zr0.5O2 has not been changed before and after annealing at 773 K for 1.h. Only an unknown EPR signal (g =1.990) has been observed in the c-Ce0.5Zr0.5O2 and not varied after annealing at 773 K for 1.h, which exhibited that there exists no Ce3+ in the c-Ce0.5Zr0.5O2 and the Ce4+ has not been reduced into Ce3+ after annealing. The transport mechanism is ionic for the c-Ce0.5Zr0.5O2. The bulk conductivity (a =1.2×1.-5 S/cm at 823 K, σ=2.1.×1.-3 S/cm at 1.23 K) is the same as that of CeO2, but smaller than that of Y2O3-stabilized ZrO2. A marked curvature at T = 823 K has been observed in the Arrhenius plot of the bulk conductivity. The activation energy below 823 K is lower than that above 823 K, and the reason has been discussed.

The pore structural characteristics have been the key to the studies on the mechanisms of fluids flow in porous media. With the development of experimental technology, the modern high-resolution equipments are capable of capturing pore structure images with a resolution of microns. But so far only 3D volume data of millimeter-scale rock samples can be obtained losslessly. It is necessary to explore the way of virtually reconstructing larger volume digital samples of porous media with the representative structural characteristics of the pore space. This paper proposes a reconstruction method of porous media using the structural characteristics captured by the data templates of multiple-point geostatistics. In this method, the probability of each structural characteristic of a pore space is acquired first, and then these characteristics are reproduced according to the probabilities to present the real structural characteristics in the reconstructed images. Our experimental results have shown that: (i) the deviation of LBM computed permeability respectively on the virtually reconstructed sandstone and the original sample is less than 1.2%; (ii) the reconstructed sandstone and the original sample have similar structural characteristics demonstrated by the variogram curves.

Ta/NiOx/Ni81.e1./Ta and Co/AlOx/Co multilay-ers were prepared by rf reactive and dc magnetron sputter-ing. The exchange coupling field (Hex) and the coercivity (Hc) of NiOx/Ni81.e1. as a function of the ratio of Ar to O2 during the deposition process were studied. The composition and chemical states at the interface region of NiOx/NiFe were also investigated using the X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS) and peak decomposition technique. The results show that when the ratio of Ar to O2 is equal to 7 and the argon sputtering pressure is 0.57 Pa, the x value is approximately 1.and the valence of nickel is +2. At this point, NiOx is anti-ferromagnetic NiO and the corresponding Hex is the largest. As the ratio of Ar/O2 deviates from 7, the Hex will decrease due to the presence of magnetic impurities such as Ni+3 or metallic Ni at the interface region of NiOx/NiFe, while the Hc will increase due to the metallic Ni. Al layers in Co/AlOx/Co multilayers were also studied by angle-resolved XPS. Our finding is
