Circular RNAs(circRNAs)are involved in various biological processes and disease ***,only a small number of functional circRNAs have been identified among hundreds of thousands of circRNA species,partly because most current methods are based on circular junction counts and overlook the fact that a circRNA is formed from the host gene by backsplicing(BS).To distinguish the expression difference originating from BS or the host gene,we present differentially expressed back-splicing(DEBKS),a software program to streamline the discovery of differential BS events between two rRNA-depleted RNA sequencing(RNA-seq)sample *** applying to real and simulated data and employing RT-qPCR for validation,we demonstrate that DEBKS is efficient and accurate in detecting circRNAs with differential BS events between paired and unpaired sample *** is available at https://***/yangence/DEBKS as open-source software.

Functional response is a key index in determining the population fluctuation in predation. However, the lack of operable research system limits the studies on functional response of fungal predators. Hirsutella rhossiliensis is a dominant parasite of the soybean cyst nematode, Heterodera glycines. In a soil microcosm bioassay, we determined fungal biomass at different days within 21 days after inoculation, and parasitism rate of H. glycines by the fungus was determined. The functional response of H. rhossiliensis to H. glycines was established and found to be Holling＇s type Ill, which was influenced by mycelial densities. Meanwhile, we conducted anti-fungal analysis of metabolic fractions extracted from H. rhossiliensis to explain the potential mechanism of the intraspecific competition illustrated by functional response. The result of anti-fungal experiments indicated that the fungal predators had more complicated interaction at population level than expected, which might be regulated by self-inhibition metabolite（s）. This study was the first functional response study of fungal predators in microcosm. With the in- creasing recognition of emerging fungal threats to animal, plant, and ecosystem health, the methodologies and hypotheses proposed in this study might inspire further research in fungal ecology.

冬虫夏草是我国传统的名贵中药材,具有悠久的历史,不仅是真菌学、中药学及生态学研究的热点,也是藏区牧民收入的重要来源和新兴产业。然而,真菌分类学、生态学、中药学等不同学科以及产业领域和民众等对冬虫夏草的认识角度和层次不同,对冬虫夏草相关的名称、概念及其内涵的理解存在分歧,导致在交流过程中出现一些不一致,并对学术交流和产业发展带来不必要的负面影响。文中从不同学科、产业和民众的角度对冬虫夏草相关术语进行了论述和探讨,并建议规范化使用冬虫夏草的有关术语。

Clarifying China’s position in the global system is an important logical basis for developing national *** much research has been done on China’s development status,most studies have been based on country comparisons or institutional *** today’s networked era in which the global economy,trade,personnel,and information are closely connected,studies on China’s global position and its status changes and influencing factors in multiple contact networks are still *** this study,from the perspective of diverse global contact networks,we constructed economic,cultural,and political influence indices to explore the changes and influencing factors on China’s status in the global system from 2005 to *** results show that during the study period,China’s global influence in the fields of economic ties,cultural exchanges,and political contacts increased significantly,but its influ-ence in the fields of cultural exchanges and political contacts lagged far economic *** pattern of China’s economic influence on various economies around the world has shown a transformation from an‘upright pyramid’to an‘inverted pyramid’*** proportion of these economies in low-influence zones has decreased from more than 60%in 2005 to less than 20%in ***’s cultural and political influence on various economies around the world has increased significantly;however,for the former,the percentage of high-influence areas is still less than 20%,whereas for the latter the percentage of these economies in medium-and high-influence areas is still less than 50%.Analyses such as a scatter plot matrix show that geographical proximity,economic globalization,close cooperation with developing countries,and a proactive and peaceful foreign policy are important factors in improving China’s status in the diverse global network system.

Mechanism of slag pellets sticking on the wall of reduction pot in magnesium production by Pidgeon process

In the preparation of magnesium by Pidgeon process,the phenomenon slag pellets sticking on the wall of reduction pot always appear,and the glaze sticking on the inner wall of the reduction pot is difficult to *** mechanism of this phenomenon is studied in this work by X-ray fluorescence spectrometer(XRF)measurement,electron probe microanalyzer scanning(EPMA)analysis,differential scanning calorimetry(DSC)analysis,and thermodynamic *** main components of the glaze are MgO,Ca_(12)Al_(14)F_(2)O_(32),CaF_(2),CaO,and a small amount of Ca_(4)Si_(2)O_(7)F_(2).The solid-liquid transition temperature of Ca_(12)Al_(14)F_(2)O_(32)and CaF_(2)is close to the production temperature of Pidgeon process,which leads to the bonding between the slag pellets and the pot *** loss of CaF_(2)in glaze layer will reduce the total amount of liquid phase and increase the temperature at which Ca_(12)Al_(14)F_(2)O_(32)is completely transformed into liquid phase,which causes glaze layer sticking on the inner wall of the reduction pot.

Morphological and molecular evidence for natural hybridization between Sorbus pohuashanensis and S. discolor (Rosaceae)

In overlapping distribution areas of Sorbus pohuashanensis and *** in North China(Mount Tuoliang,Mount Xiling and Mount Baihua),Sorbus indi-viduals were found with pink fruit,which have never been recorded for the flora of *** morphological characters combined with four chloroplast DNA markers and internal transcribed spacer(ITS)were used to analyze the origin of the Sorbus individuals with pink fruits and their relationship to *** and ***,SDA and one-way(taxon)ANOVA of morphological characters provided convincing evidence of the hybrid ori-gin of Sorbus individuals with pink fruits based on a novel morphological character and many intermediate *** analysis based on four cpDNA markers showed that either *** or *** were maternal parents of Sorbus individuals with pink ***-ence of the position of Sorbus individuals with pink fruits between cpDNA and ITS in cluster trees supported by DNA sequence comparative analysis,implying former hybridiza-tion events between *** and ***-tiple hybridization events between *** and *** might have contributed to the generation of Sorbus individuals with pink *** study has provided insights into hybridization between species of the same genus in sympatric areas,which is of great significance for the study of interspecific hybridization.

We present a novel approach for generating stable three-dimensional(3D)spatiotemporal solitons(SSs)within a rotating Bose–Einstein condensate,incorporating spin–orbit coupling(SOC),a weakly anharmonic potential and cold Rydberg *** intricate system facilitates the emergence of quasi-stable 3D SSs with topological charges|m|≤3 in two spinor components,potentially exhibiting diverse spatial *** findings reveal that the Rydberg long-range interaction,spin–orbit coupling,and rotational angular frequency exert significant influence on the domains of existence and stability of these ***,the Rydberg interaction contributes to a reduction in the norm of topological solitons,while the SOC plays a key role in stabilizing the SSs with finite topological *** research of SSs exhibits potential applications in precision measurement,quantum information processing,and other advanced technologies.

Resistive field generation in intense proton beam interaction with solid targets

The Brown-Preston-Singleton(BPS)stopping power model is added to our previously developed hybrid code to model ion beam-plasma *** simulations show that both resistive field and ion scattering effects are important for proton beam transport in a solid target,in which they compete with each *** the target is not completely ionized,the self-generated resistive field effect dominates over the ion scattering ***,when the target is completely ionized,this situation is ***,it is found that Ohmic heating is important for higher current densities and materials with high *** energy fraction deposited as Ohmic heating can be as high as 20%-30%.Typical ion divergences with half-angles of about 5°-10°will modify the proton energy deposition substantially and should be taken into account.
