A Multi-strategy Improved snake Optimizer Assisted with Population Crowding Analysis for Engineering Design Problems

snake Optimizer(sO)is a novel Meta-heuristic Algorithm(MA)inspired by the mating behaviour of snakes,which has achieved success in global numerical optimization problems and practical engineering ***,it also has certain drawbacks for the exploration stage and the egg hatch process,resulting in slow convergence speed and inferior solution *** address the above issues,a novel multi-strategy improved sO(MIsO)with the assistance of population crowding analysis is proposed in this *** the algorithm,a novel multi-strategy operator is designed for the exploration stage,which not only focuses on using the information of better performing individuals to improve the quality of solution,but also focuses on maintaining population *** boost the efficiency of the egg hatch process,the multi-strategy egg hatch process is proposed to regenerate individuals according to the results of the population crowding *** addition,a local search method is employed to further enhance the convergence speed and the local search *** is first compared with three sets of algorithms in the CEC2020 benchmark functions,including sO with its two recently discussed variants,ten advanced MAs,and six powerful CEC competition *** performance of MIsO is then verified on five practical engineering design *** experimental results show that MIsO provides a promising performance for the above optimization cases in terms of convergence speed and solution quality.

Evaluation and Projection of Extreme High Temperature Indices in southwestern China Using NEX-GDDP-CMIP6

Based on the recently released NAsA Earth Exchange Global Daily Downscaled Projections(NEX-GDDP)Coupled Model Intercomparison Project Phase 6(CMIP6) dataset and the gridded observational daily dataset CN05.1, this study evaluates the performance of 26 CMIP6 models in simulating extreme high temperature(EHT) indices in southwestern China and estimates future changes in the EHT indices under the shared socioeconomic Pathways(ssPs) ssP1-2.6, ssP2-4.5, and ssP5-8.5 using 11 optimal CMIP6 models. Five EHT indices are employed:annual maximum value of daily maximum temperature(TXX), high temperature days(T35), warm days(TX90P),heat wave frequency(HWF), and heat wave days(HWD). The main results are as follows.(1) NEX-GDDP-CMIP6 is highly capable of simulating the spatial patterns of TXX and T35 in southwestern China but it presents a weaker ability to simulate the spatial patterns of TX90P, HWF, and HWD.(2) The simulated time series of T35, TX90P, HWF,and HWD in southwestern China exhibit consistent upward trends with the observations. The linear trends of increase in TX90P and HWD are much greater than those of increase in TXX, T35, and HWF.(3) The estimated increases in TXX and T35 in southwestern China are significantly greater in Chongqing and the adjacent areas of sichuan than in the other regions. spatial distributions of the increases in TX90P, HWF, and HWD generally show higher values in the west and lower values in the east.(4) In the three different scenarios, the projected future TXX,T35, TX90P, and HWD in southwestern China all display a continuous increase with time and radiative forcing levels, whereas HWF initially increases but then decreases under the ssP5-8.5 scenario. By the end of the 21st century, under the ssP5-8.5 scenario, TXX and T35 are projected to increase by 6.0℃ and 45.0 days, respectively. The duration of individual heat waves is also expected to increase.

A full-parameter constrained parsimonious subspace identification method that incorporates the steady-state a priori infor-mation of the system is proposed to model the DC-DC converters.A parsimonious model with fewer parameters is used to represent the system,and then an optimal weighted methods is used to estimate the system parameters matrices by taking into account both dynamical data and steady-state *** with traditional data-driven methods for DC-DC convert-ers,the subspace-based method can simultaneously estimate model structure and parameter with appropriate computational ***,compared with the traditional full-parameter constrained subspace approach,the proposed algorithm can accurately estimate the system parameters with a smaller *** experimental results on a DC-DC synchronous buck converter verify the effectiveness and superiority of the proposed method.

Effect of biochar application on rice,wheat,and corn seedlings in hydroponic culture

In recent years,biochar has attracted considerable attention for soil quality improvement and carbon sequestration due to its unique physicochemical ***,the mechanism by which biochar application negatively affects the growth of crop seedlings has not been fully *** this study,a hydroponic experiment was conducted to evaluate the response of rice,wheat,and corn seedlings to biochar application(CK,0 g/L;BC1,0.5 g/L;and BC2,1.0 g/L).Compared with the CK treatment,the BC1 and BC2 treatments decreased the fresh shoot and root weights of rice and corn seedlings(Ps no significant effect on wheat seedlings(P>0.05).For the contents of nutrient elements in seedlings,both BC1 and BC2 treatments hindered the roots from absorbing Fe and Cu and increased the uptake of Ca and *** with the CK treatment,the translocation factor(TF)values of Ca,Mn,and Zn were significantly decreased especially in rice seedlings(35.3%-36.8%,68.7%-76.5%,and 29.8%-22.0%,respectively)under the BC1 and BC2 treatments,while only Mn was significantly decreased in wheat and corn seedlings(Psmission electron microscope(TEM)analysis of root cross-sections showed that nano-sized biochar particles(10~23 nm)were found in the root cells under BC2 treatment *** findings reveal that a large amount of biochar application can reduce nutrient absorption and translocation,and hinder rice,wheat,and corn seedlings,particularly rice seedling,in hydroponic system.

The structures,mechanical properties and electronic structures of M metals(M=Ti,V,Cr,Mn and Fe)dopedβ-si_(3)N_(4) were investigated by First-principles calculations within *** calculated lattice parameters ofβ-si_(3)N_(4) were consistent with previous *** cohesive energy and formation enthalpy show that initialβ-si_(3)N_(4) has the highest structural *** calculated elastic constant and the Voigt-Reuss-Hill approximation indicate that elastic moduli ofβ-si_(3)N_(4) are slightly reduced by M *** on Poisson’s and Pugh’s ratio,β-si_(3)N_(4) is a ductile material and the toughness ofβ-si_(3)N_(4) increases with M doping,and Fe doping exhibited the best *** results of density of states,charge distributions and overlapping populations indicate thatβ-si_(3)N_(4) has the strong covalent and ionic bond strength between N and si.

The innate immune pathway is receiving increasing attention in cancer *** pathway is ubiquitous across various cell types,not only in innate immune cells but also in adaptive immune cells,tumor cells,and stromal *** targeting the innate immune pathway have shown profound changes in the tumor microenvironment(TME)and improved tumor prognosis in preclinical ***,to date,the clinical success of drugs targeting the innate immune pathway remains ***,recent studies have shown that activation of the innate immune pathway can paradoxically promote tumor *** uncertainty surrounding the therapeutic effectiveness of targeted drugs for the innate immune pathway is a critical issue that needs immediate *** this review,we observe that the role of the innate immune pathway demonstrates heterogeneity,linked to the tumor development stage,pathway status,and specific cell *** propose that within the TME,the innate immune pathway exhibits multidimensional *** diversity is fundamentally rooted in cellular heterogeneity and is manifested as a variety of signaling *** pro-tumor effect of innate immune pathway activation essentially reflects the suppression of classical pathways and the activation of potential pro-tumor alternative *** our understanding of the tumor's innate immune pathway network and employing appropriate targeting strategies can enhance our ability to harness the anti-tumor potential of the innate immune pathway and ultimately bridge the gap from preclinical to clinicalapplication.
