This study investigates the microstructure and local corrosion behavior of an Al-Mg-Si-Cu alloy,which has been subjected to cold-rolling with different deformation strain ratios(DSRs)and followed by artificial *** corrosion tests show that peak-aged samples with a small DSR(5-10%)are sensitive to inter-granular corrosion(IGC)along both the normal and rolling *** the DSR increases to medium strength(20-40%),IGC sensitivity decreases along both directions and corrosion propagates *** the DSR is 60-80%,IGC sensitivity along the normal direction continues to decrease,but increases along the rolling direction,indicating pronounced corrosion *** characterization reveals the decreased IGC sensitivity is mainly attributed to a reduction in element segregation at high-angle grain boundaries and the kinked and discontinuous grain boundary corrosion *** increased IGC sensitivity along the rolling direction could be related to the significantly flattened grains.

Cerebral ischemia is a major health risk that requires preventive approaches in addition to drug *** exercise enhances neurogenesis and synaptogenesis,and has been widely used for functional rehabilitation after *** this study,we determined whether exercise training before disease onset can alleviate the severity of cerebral *** also examined the role of exercise-induced circulating factors in these *** mice were subjected to 14 days of treadmill exercise training before surgery for middle cerebral artery *** found that this exercise pre-conditioning strategy effectively attenuated brain infarct area,inhibited gliogenesis,protected synaptic proteins,and improved novel object and spatial memory *** analysis showed that circulating adiponectin plays a critical role in these preventive effects of *** activation of adiponectin receptors by Adipo Ron mimicked the effects of exercise,while inhibiting receptor activation abolished the exercise *** summary,our results suggest a crucial role of circulating adiponectin in the effects of exercise pre-conditioning in protecting against cerebral ischemia and supporting the health benefits of exercise.

It is generally considered that the Al3Sc nanoprecipitates are highly thermal stable,mainly due to quite slow Sc diffusion in theα-Al *** this paper,we demonstrate in an Al-Cu-Sc alloy that the Cu atoms have dual effect on the coarsening of Al3Sc *** the one hand,the Cu atoms with high diffusivity tend to accelerate the Al3Sc coarsening,which results from the Cu-promoted Sc *** the other hand,some Cu atoms will segregate at the Al3Sc/matrix interface,which further stabilizes the Al3Sc nanoprecipitates by reducing the interfacial *** between these two effects is tailored by temperature,which rationalizes the experimental findings that the coarsening kinetics of Al3Sc nanoprecipitate is greatly boosted at 300℃-overaging while significantly suppressed at 400℃-overaging.

A numerical simulation method is presented for the random-fuzzy safety analysis of an aero engine disk. Based on the equivalent transformation from a fuzzy variable to a random variable, the equivalent random Probability Density Functions(PDFs) are got from their corresponding Fuzzy Possibility Distributions(FPDs) for the fuzzy variables. In that case the perfect numerical simulation method for the random uncertainty is employed to solve the fuzzy uncertainty. For the complex structure such as the aero engine disk with implicit relationship between the input basic variable and the response variable, the equivalent PDFs of the input basic variables are delivered simultaneously to the response variable by an empirical PDF, which is simulated by Finite Element Method(FEM). Then, in view of the fuzzy application requirement occurring in engineering usually, the reliability definition and calculation are discussed for the aero engine disk with multiple fuzzy failure modes. On the other hand, through the inverse transformation of the fuzzy variable to the random variable, the FPDs of the response variables can be calculated from their empirical PDFs as well.

laser surface melting (lSM) was applied on a cast Ni–Al bronze (NAB), which was a crucial material for marine ship propellers. A 720 μm-thick lSM layer with fine equiaxed and dendritic microstructures was obtained. After immersion for 30 days, the corrosion rate of cast NAB was reduced by 25% after lSM. Preferential corrosion occurred and deep corrosion pits appeared at α + κIII microstructure for the cast NAB. lSM NAB underwent general corrosion, and a much more protective film formed on the surface because of the homogenized microstructure. The mass loss of the cast NAB was approximately 2.1 times larger than that of lSM NAB after cavitation erosion (CE) in 3.5 wt.% NaCl solution for 5 h. For the two materials, the mechanical impact effect was dominantly responsible for CE damage. Therefore, the improved hardness and homogenized microstructure contributed to the improved CE resistance of lSM NAB. CE destructed the film, shifted the open circuit potential toward a more negative value, and raised the current density by an order of magnitude. Corrosion at the cast eutectoid microstructure and the dendrites of lSM NAB facilitates the degradation under the cavitation attack. CE-corrosion synergy was largely caused by corrosion-enhanced-CE.
