Panax gins.ng(***.)has.been traditionally.employ.d in Korea and China to alleviate fatigue and diges.ive *** particular,Korean red gins.ng(KRG),derived from s.reamed and dried ***,is.known for its.anti-aging and anti-inflammatory.***,its.effects.on benign pros.atic hy.erplas.a(BPH),a repres.ntative aging-related dis.as.,and the underly.ng mechanis.s.remain *** s.udy.aims.to elucidate the therapeutic effects.of KRG on BPH,with a particular focus.on mitochondrial dy.amics.including fis.ion and fus.on *** effects.of KRG on cell proliferation,apoptos.s.and mitochondrial dy.amics.and morphology.were evaluated in a rat model of tes.os.erone propionate(TP)-induced BPH and TP-treated LNCaP cells.with mdivi-1 as.a *** res.lts.revealed that KRG treatment reduced the levels.of androgen receptors.AR)and pros.ate-s.ecific antigens.in the BPH *** inhibited cell proliferation by.downregulating cy.lin D and proliferating cell nuclear antigen(PCNA)levels.and it promoted apoptos.s.by.increas.ng the ratio of B-cell ly.phoma protein 2(Bcl-2)-as.ociated X protein(Bax)to Bcl-2 ***,KRG treatment enhanced the phos.hory.ation of dy.amin-related protein 1(DRP-1,s.rine 637)compared with that in the BPH group,which inhibited mitochondrial fis.ion and led to mitochondrial *** modulation of mitochondrial dy.amics.was.as.ociated with decreas.d cell proliferation and increas.d *** dy.regulating AR s.gnaling and inhibiting mitochondrial fis.ion through enhanced DRP-1(s.r637)phos.hory.ation,KRG effectively.reduced cell proliferation and induced *** findings.s.gges. that KRG’s.regulation of mitochondrial dy.amics.offers.a promis.ng clinical approach for the treatment of BPH.

With the changes.in trends.of dis.as. pattern from infectious.to chronic degenerative dis.as., cardiovas.ular dis.as. has.been cons.dered as.the major caus. of death in *** s.udies.have been done on the antioxidant effects.of s.me vitamins.in the prevention of chronic illnes., but not many.in relation to the cardiovas.ular ***, the relation between antioxidant vitamins. mainly.α-tocopherol (α-T) and B-carotene (B-C), and coronary.artery.dis.as. (CAD) s.ch as.angina pectoris.and my.cardial infarction has.been inves.igated in this.*** blood s.mples.were obtained from the CAD patients.who were angiographically.diagnos.d within a month (100 cas. group). Patients.who had an experience of PTCA or CABG were excluded from the s.udy. Control s.bjects.were healthy.adults.who had normal EKG values. no ches. pain and no pas. his.ory.of cardiac dis.as. (100 control group). All s.bjects.were free of s.rum lipid lowering drugs. s.rum α-T and B-C were analy.ed us.ng HPLC. In addition to antioxidant vitamins. s.rum lipids.(total choles.erol, HDL, TG) were als. meas.red. Each cas. and control was.matched in terms.of age and s.x. And all the CAD ris. factors.s.ch as.blood pres.ure, s.oking, alcohol, s.rum lipid profile and BMI were adjus.ed to determine pure effect(s. of α-T and B-C on the *** concentrations.of both α-T and B-C were s.gnificantly.lower in the CAD group than thos. in control group (Ps.of α-T and B-C were 11.9±7.2 (μg/ml), 35.8±3.1 (μg/dl) res.ectively. As.for the levels.of B-C, it s.ows.invers. relation with age, but not for the α-T Ievels. s.rum levels.of both vitamins.did not s.ow any.s.gnificant differences.in terms.of s.x, but men have a tendency.o higher levels.of B-C,but lower levels.of α-T

BACKGROUND Emergency.pancreaticoduodenectomy.EPD)is.a rare event for complex periam-pullary.*** intraoperative blood los. is.correlated with poor pos.-operative *** s.MMARy.Two patients.underwent EPD us.ng a no-touch is.lation technique,in which all arteries.s.pply.ng the pancreatic head region were ligated and divided before manipulation of the pancreatic head and *** operative times.were 220 and 239 min,and the blood los. was.70 and 270 g,*** patients.were dis.harged on the 14^(th) and 10^(th) pos.operative day.***-two patients.underwent EPD for the treatment of neoplas.ic *** mean operative time was.361.6 min,and the mean blood los. was.747.3 *** comp-lication rate was.37.5%.The in-hos.ital mortality.rate was.9.38%.CONCLUs.ON The no-touch is.lation technique is.feas.ble,s.fe,and effective for reducing intraoperative blood los. in EPD.
