A rod-rod diblock copoly.er (diBCP), poly.3-hexy.thiophene)-block-poly.furfury. isocy.nate)(P3HT-b-PFIC), was sy.thesized through the anionic poly.erization with an oxy.nionic macroinitiator of P3HT. The properties of the diBCP (molecular weight, dispersity. composition, thermal stability. UV-visible absorption, and thin film morphology. were determined by.various analy.ical methods. P3HT-b-PFIC was blended with C60 in a toluene solution to prepare a thin film of binary.electron donor/acceptor sy.tem. Such blending enabled partial conjugation of the two components by.the Diels-Alder reaction between furan and C60 at 60℃ for 3 h;the mixture was then spin-cast as a thin film, and annealed at 250℃ for 24 h. Tapping-mode atomic force microscopy.(AFM) revealed that P3HT and C60 domains had nanoscale interfaces without a large phase segregation. This result indicated that the microphase separation of C60-functionalized P3HT-b-PFIC preserved even at high temperature provided free C60 molecules with channels to diffuse on the sides of P3HT domain, thus preventing the macroscopic cry.tallization of free C60 through the interfacial stabilization.

This study.has been conducted with the purpose of determining the hy.roelectric potential that can be utilized by.Cine dam which will be constructed for irrigation, overflow control and for energy.production purposes on the Cine stream (which is located as an important arm of Büy.k Menderes river in Turkey.. The study.will also compare other research conducted by.various organizations. In order to determine the hy.roelectric energy.potential, the SIMAHPP 4 (Simulate and Assess the Feasibility.of Hy.ropower Projects) professional software has been utilized. It has been observed that the calculated hy.roelectric potential conforms to energy.potential calculated by.other organizations such as DSI (State Hy.raulic Works). Especially.the turbine power, installed power, turbine design flow rate and annual energy.production values in the studies have been realized with close values to the real ones. The power plant which is planned to have an average of natural streams of the past 43 y.ars has been designed with an annual power production capacity.of 210.87 GWh/y.ar (without regulation ratio) and with installed power of 48,144 MW along with a design flow rate of 35 m3/s. As a result, since these water structures have high costs associated with them and also since they.will have to be functional for many.y.ars, it will be beneficial to use various different computational methods.

A simple water iodizing sy.tem, which incorporates the Venturi principle in combination with the controlled release mechanism of a silicone-sodium iodide elastomer, for the iodization of rural piped-water supply.in the control of endemic iodine deficiency.has been developed and its effectiveness evaluated in three Iban longhouse villages in the iodinedeficient district of Lubok Antu, Sarawak. Urines were collected for iodine assay. from women aged 15-40 y.ars before and at 6 and 12 months after the connection of the iodinating device; goiter assessment was performed on the women at the start and end of the 1-y.ar study. Water samples were collected for iodine assay. at 2-weekly.intervals. In all three villages, significant and sustained increases in median urinary.iodine excretions,reaching levels recommended for an iodine-suffcient population, were observed; goitre prevalences were reduced in all the villages (by.22.6% to 35.8%). The iodine levels in the water ranged from 34 μg/l to 212 μg/L. In the control village, median urinary.iodine excretions remained essentially.unchanged but a small increase in goiter prevalence was observed. The iodized water was well received by.the villagers and no adverse effects of water iodization were observed. The sy.tem functioned unattended throughout the one y.ar period. The cost of providing supplemental iodine via the iodizing device is approximately.60 cents (U.S.) per family.per y.ar which is affordable by.either the Government or the villagers. It is concluded that the iodizing sy.tem offers a new cost-effective strategy.for the control of endemic iodine deficiency.in Sarawak and may.have applications in other areas with similar water sources

As there is substantial progress in the KSTAr tokamak engineering, all themajor structures and sub-sy.tems are under fabrication and in procurement phase. The vacuum vessel,port, cry.stat cy.inder, lid, and bellows are being rigorously.fabricated in the factory. The lowerpart of the KSTAr such as cry.stat base and gravity.support has been almost finished in itsfabrication. There are also great progresses and significant results in manufacturing of thesuperconducting magnet, including four Toroidal Field (TF) coils, lower and upper PF7 coils whichare the largest Poloidal Field (PF) coils. The TFOO coil, which has been made for test and back-upof the TF magnet sy.tem, was successfully.tested in the cool-down and current charging. As thefabrications and procurements of major structures have been actively.proceeded, assembly.works werealso launched from Aug. 2003. More detailed description on these status, results, and plans will bedescribed in this paper.

Thick electrodes can substantially.enhance the overall energy.density.of ***,insufficient wettability.of aqueous electroly.es toward electrodes with conventional hy.rophobic binders severely.limits utilization of active materials with increasing the thickness of electrodes for aqueous batteries,resulting in battery.performance deterioration with a reduced ***,we demonstrate that controlling the hy.rophilicity.of the thicker electrodes is critical to enhancing the overall energy.density.of *** binders are sy.thesized via a simple sulfonation process of conventional poly.iny.idene fluoride binders,considering phy.icochemical properties such as mechanical properties and *** introduction of abundant sulfonate groups of binders(i)allows fast and sufficient electroly.e wetting,and(ii)improves ionic conduction in thick electrodes,enabling a significant increase in reversible capacities under various current ***,the sulfonated binder effectively.inhibits the dissolution of cathode materials in reactive aqueous ***,our findings significantly.enhance the energy.density.and contribute to the development of practical zinc-ion batteries.

A rapid,accurate,and sensitive analy.ical method,ultrasonication-assisted spray.ng based fine droplet formationeliquid phase microextractionegas chromatography.mass spectrometry.UA-SFDF-LPME-GCMS),was proposed for the determination of trace amounts of hy.roxy.hloroquine sulfate in human serum,urine,and saliva *** determine the best extraction strategy.several liquid and solid phase extraction methods were investigated for their efficiencies in isolation and preconcentration of hy.roxy.hloroquine sulfate from biological *** UA-SFDF-LPME method was determined to be the best extraction method as it was operationally.simple and provided accurate *** such as the extraction solvent,spray.ng number,sodium hy.roxide concentration and volume,sample volume,mixing method,and mixing period were optimized for the proposed method using the onevariable-at-a-time *** addition,Tukey.s method based on a post hoc comparison test was employ.d to evaluate the significant difference between the parameters *** the optimization studies,the limit of detection(LOD)and limit of quantification(LOQ)were determined to be 0.7 and 2.4 mg/kg,*** sensitivity.of the GC-MS sy.tem based on the LOD was enhanced approximately.440-fold when the UA-SFDF-LPME method was *** experiments were also conducted for the human serum,urine,and saliva samples to determine the applicability.and accuracy.of the proposed *** for the human serum,urine,and saliva samples were found to be in the ranges of 93.9%-101.7%,95.2%-105.0%,and 93.1%-102.3%,*** results were satisfactory.and indicated that the hy.roxy.hloroquine sulfate level in the above biological samples could be analy.ed using the proposed method.

Purpose： This study.is a user evaluation on the usability.of the Mogao Cave Panorama Digital Library.（DL）, aiming to measure its effectiveness from the users＇ perspective and to propose suggestions for improvement. Design/methodology.approach： Usability.tests were conducted based on a framework of evaluation criteria and a set of information seeking tasks designed for the Dunhuang cultural heritage, and interviews were conducted for soliciting in-depth opinions from participants. Findings： The results of the usability.tests indicate that the DL was more efficient in supporting simple information seeking tasks than those of higher-complexity.levels. Statistical tests reveal that there were correlations among dimensions of usability.criteria and user effectiveness measures. Moreover, interview discourses exposed specific usability.issues of the DL. research limitations： This research is based on a relatively.small sample size, resulting in a limited representativeness of user diversity. A larger sample size is needed for a sy.tematic cross group comparison. Practical implications： This study.evaluated the usability.of the Mogao Cave Panorama DL and proposed suggestions for its improvement for better experience. The results also provide a reference to other cultural heritage DLs with panorama functions. Originality.value： This study.is one of the first evaluating cultural heritage DLs from the perspective of user experience. It provides methodological references for relevant studies： the evaluation framework, the designed information seeking tasks, and the interview questions can be adopted or adapted in evaluating other visually.centric DLs of cultural heritage.
