Alcohol abuse induces various neurological disorders including motor learning deficits,possibly by affecting neuronal and astrocytic *** exercise is one effective approach to remediate synaptic loss and motor deficits as shown by our previous *** this study,we unrevealed the role of exercise training in the recovery of cortical neuronal and astrocytic *** a chronic alcohol injection mouse model,we found the hyperreactivity of astrocytes along with dendritic spine loss plus lower neuronal activity in the primary motor *** treadmill exercise training,on the other hand,improved neural spine formation and inhibited reactive astrocytes,alleviating motor learning deficits induced by alcohol *** data collectively support the potency of endurance exercise in the rehabilitation of motor functions under alcohol abuse.

The cotton bollworm Helicoverpa armigera and the oriental tobacco budworm H. assulta are sibling species, both being important agricultural pests. Morphologically, the two insects are almost indistinguishable at the egg, larval and pupal stages. One of the big challenges in the study of these insects, in particular in integrated pest management, is a timely and dependable identification of these insects at their early stages of development. Here, we report a H. armigera-specific nuclear DNA marker, and demonstrate that it can be employed to reliably discriminate between 1-1. armigera and 11. assulta by simple polymerase chain reaction amplification experiment.

The gravitational collapse of a massless scalar with a cosmological constant A is investigated. The mass field enclosed with a perfectly reflecting wall in a spacetime scaling for the gapped collapse MAH -- Mg oc （ec -- e） is confirmed and a new time scaling for the gapped collapse Tall -- Tg c（（ec - e）〈 is found. For both the critical exponents, we find strong evidence to show that they are non-universal. Especially when A ~ O, we find that both of these two critical exponents depend on the combination AR2, where R is the radial position of the reflecting wall. We find an evolution of the critical exponent from 0.37 in the confined asymptotic dS case with AR2 = 1.75 to 0.68 in the confined asymptotic AdS case with AR2 -- -1.75, while the critical exponent （ varies from 0.10 to 0.26, which shows that the new critical behavior for the gapped collapse is essentially different from the Choptuik＇s case.

Iron carbon agglomerates(ICA)are the composite burden for low-carbon blast furnace(BF)*** order to optimize the reactivity of ICA according to the evolution characteristics of ICA in the BF smelting process,the evolution behavior and mechanism of different reactive ICA under simulated BF smelting conditions were *** results show that the existence of more sillimanite and aluminosilicate and less active sites of metallic iron will weaken gasification reaction and carburization ability of ICA-1(containing 10%iron ore).It weakens the promoting effect of ICA-1 on the reduction,softening,and melting of ferrous burdens and the dripping of *** aluminosilicate with a high melting point decreases,the low melting point slag phase and Fe–Si alloy increase,and many active sites of metallic iron exist,which strengthen the gasification reaction and carburization ability of ICA-2(containing 30%iron ore).The promoting effect of ICA-2 on the reduction,softening,and melting of ferrous burdens and the dripping of slag-iron is significantly *** gasification reaction capacity of ICA-3(containing 35%iron ore)is reduced,and the improvement in ICA-3 on the softening–melting performance of mixed burdens is *** appropriate proportion of iron ore in ICA is about 30%.

The multi-dimensional time-domain computational fluid dynamics(CFD) approach is extended to calculate the acoustic attenuation performance of water-filled piping silencers. Transmission loss predictions from the time-domain CFD approach and the frequency-domain finite element method(FEM) agree well with each other for the dual expansion chamber silencer, straight-through and cross-flow perforated tube silencers without flow. Then, the time-domain CFD approach is used to investigate the effect of flow on the acoustic attenuation characteristics of perforated tube silencers. The numerical predictions demonstrate that the mean flow increases the transmission loss, especially at higher frequencies, and shifts the transmission loss curve to lower frequencies.

In cloud computing,the number of replicas and deployment strategy have extensive impacts on user's requirement and storage ***,in this paper,a new definition of file access popularity according to users' preferences,and its prediction algorithm are provided to predict file access trend with historical *** are sorted by priority depending on their popularity.A mathematical model between file access popularity and the number of replicas is built so that the reliability is increased *** importantly,we present an optimal strategy of dynamic replicas deployment based on the file access popularity strategy with the overall concern of nodes' performance and load *** this strategy,files with high priority will be deployed on nodes with better performance therefore higher quality of service is *** strategy is realized in the Hadoop *** is compared with that of default strategy in Hadoop and CDRM *** result shows that the proposed strategy can not only maintain the system load balance,but also supply better service performance,which is consistent with the theoretical analysis.

Toxic Potential of Palytoxin

This review briefly describes the origin,chemistry,molecular mechanism of action,pharmacology,toxicology,and ecotoxicology of palytoxin and its analogues. Palytoxin and its analogues are produced by marine dinoflagellates. Palytoxin is also produced by Zoanthids（i.e. Palythoa）,and Cyanobacteria（Trichodesmium）. Palytoxin is a very large,non-proteinaceous molecule with a complex chemical structure having both lipophilic and hydrophilic moieties. Palytoxin is one of the most potent marine toxins with an LD50 of 150 ng/kg body weight in mice exposed intravenously. Pharmacological and electrophysiological studies have demonstrated that palytoxin acts as a hemolysin and alters the function of excitable cells through multiple mechanisms of action. Palytoxin selectively binds to Na＋/K＋-ATPase with a Kd of 20 p M and transforms the pump into a channel permeable to monovalent cations with a single-channel conductance of 10 p S. This mechanism of action could have multiple effects on cells. Evaluation of palytoxin toxicity using various animal models revealed that palytoxin is an extremely potent neurotoxin following an intravenous,intraperitoneal,intramuscular,subcutaneous or intratracheal route of exposure. Palytoxin also causes non-lethal,yet serious toxic effects following dermal or ocular exposure. Most incidents of palytoxin poisoning have manifested after oral intake of contaminated seafood. Poisonings in humans have also been noted after inhalation,cutaneous/systemic exposures with direct contact of aerosolized seawater during Ostreopsis blooms and/or through maintaining aquaria containing Cnidarian zoanthids. Palytoxin has a strong potential for toxicity in humans and animals,and currently this toxin is of great concern worldwide.

Microstructure and mechanical properties of twin-wire arc sprayed Ni-Al composite coatings on 6061-T6 aluminum alloy sheet

We have systematically studied the microstructure and mechanical properties of Ni-5wt%Al and Ni-20wt%Al composite coat- ings fabricated on 6061-T6 aluminum alloy sheet by twin-wire arc spraying under different experimental conditions. The abrasive wear be- havior and interface diffusion behavior of the composite coatings were evaluated by dry/wet rubber wheel abrasive wear tests and heat treat- ment, respectively. Experimental results indicate that the composite coatings exhibit features of adhesive wear. Besides, the Vickers micro- hardness of NiA1 and Ni3AI intermetallic compounds is relatively larger than that of the substrate, which is beneficial for enhancing the wear resistance. With the increase of annealing temperature and time, the interface diffusion area between the Ni-Al coating and the substrate gradually expands with the formation of NiAl3 and Ni2Al3 phases, and is controlled by diffusion of aluminum atoms. The grain growth ex- ponent n of diffusion kinetics of the Ni-Al coating, calculated via a high-temperature diffusion model at 400, 480, and 550℃, is between 0.28 and 0.38. This satisfies the cubic law, which is consistent with the general theoretical relationship of high-temperature diffusion.
