Graphitizing N-doped mesoporous carbon nanospheres via facile single atom iron growth for highly efficient oxygen reduction reaction

Single atom catalyst is of great importance for the oxygen reduction reaction(ORR).However,facile preparation of single atom catalyst without using well-designed precursors or labor-intensive acid leaching remains an urgent challenge.Herein,a simple pyrolysis of Fe3+-loaded mesoporous phenolic resin(mPF)-melamine precursor is used to prepare the single atom iron-anchored N-doped mesoporous graphitic carbon nanospheres(Fe/N-MGN).Investigation of the synthesis reveals the appropriate Fe-assisted catalysis effect and mPF template effect,which not only spurs the highly graphitic porous framework of Fe/N-MGN with plentiful pyridinic N/graphitic N,but also assures the dispersed single atom Fe anchoring without elaborated procedures.As a result,the as-synthesized Fe/N-MGN demonstrates high catalytic activity,good durability and excellent methanol tolerance for ORR.This work promises a facile method to regulate the graphitic carbon growth and single atom Fe loading for the highly efficient electrocatalysis.

Facile growth of ultra-small Pd nanoparticles on zeolite-templated mesocellular graphene foam for enhanced alcohol electrooxidation

Labor-saving preparation of highly active electrocatalysts for alcohols oxidation, especially for the ethylene glycol and glycerol electrooxidation is of great importance for the development of fuel cells. Herein, mesocellular graphene foam (MGF) constructed by ultrathin nanosheets were prepared using lamellar MCM-22 zeolite as template and then ultra-small Pd NPs were facile grew on it via the stabilizer-free synthesis. Detailed characterizations showed that the obtained Pd/MGF had large surface area, hierarchical porous architecture, semi-graphitic framework and dispersed Pd NPs an chori ng. Electrochemical measurements dem on strated that Pd/MGF possessed the higher catalytic activity (1.7-2.9 fold higher) and stability for the different alcohols electrooxidation, especially for the ethylene glycol and glycerol electrooxidation in the alkaline solution, than the commercial Pd/C (10 wt.%) catalyst. Reaction kinetics analysis revealed the expanded diffusion-controlled process of Pd/MGF as compared to Pd/C. These findings promised a potential electrocatalyst for direct alcohol fuel cells (DAFC), especially for the direct ethylene glycol or glycerol fuel cells with high energy density.

[Objectives] To determine 29 kinds of inorganic elements in samples of Paris daliensis H.Li et V.G.Souku and P. dulongensis H.Li et S.Kuritap produced in different regions, and to measure the content of 10 key inorganic elements: chromium(Cr), manganese(Mn), iron(Fe), copper(Cu), mercury(Hg), zinc(Zn), arsenic(As), antimony(Sr), cadmium(Cd) and lead(Pb). [Methods] The wet digestion and technique of inductively coupled plasma optical emission spectrometry(ICP-OES) were employed. [Results] Under the experimental conditions, elements were not related to each other, and many kinds of elements could be measured at the same time; toxic and heavy metals in samples of P. daliensis H.Li et V.G.Souku and P. dulongensis H.Li et S.Kuritap did not exceed the limit; Hg was not detected in all samples. [Conclusions] This method is simple, easy to operate and reproducible. It can be used for the detection of inorganic elements in P. daliensis H.Li et V.G.Souku and P. dulongensis H.Li et S.Kuritap; the heavy metals and Hg of the rhizome meet the requirements of the limit of medicinal materials.

[Objectives] This study aimed to provide experimental data for the identification and application of Leontopodium franchetii Beauv. [Methods] The original plants, traits, microstructure and powder of L. franchetii Beauv. were identified. [Results] The identification characteristics of L. franchetii Beauv. in the original plants, traits and microstructure were obvious. [Conclusions] This study can provide reference for the identification of original plants and herbs and the development of quality standards of L. franchetii Beauv. and provide a basis for further research and development.

Changes in the Photosynthetic Pigment Contents and Transcription Levels of Phycoerythrin-Related Genes in Three Gracilariopsis lemaneiformis Strains Under Different Light Intensities

Three Gracilariopsis lemaneiformis strains,including wild type and high-temperature-resistant cultivars 981 and 2007,were studied with the changes in their photosynthetic pigment contents and related gene transcription levels under different light intensities(10,60,100,and 200μmolm^(−2)s^(−1)).The three G.lemaneiformis strains had the following photosynthetic pigments with high-to-low contents:phycoerythrin(PE),phycocyanin(PC),allophycocyanin(APC),and chlorophyll a(Chl a).Among the three strains,cultivar 981 had the highest PE content,followed by cultivar 2007.The PC and APC contents were similar among the three strains,but they were higher in cultivars 981 and 2007 than in the wild type.The Chl a contents in the three G.lemaneiformis strains were equal.A low light intensity(10μmolm^(−2)s^(−1))promoted photosynthetic pigment accumulation in G.lemaneiformis and improved the relative PE gene transcription(peA and peB)in a short period(≤6 d).A high light intensity decreased the PE content.PebA and PebB,which catalyzed phycoerythrobilin synthesis,showed no compensatory upregulation at a low light intensity among the strains except for the wild type.At a high light intensity,transcription levels of pebA and pebB in the three strains were upregulated.This study provided an experimental basis for elucidating the photosynthesis of G.lemaneiformis.As key genes of algal growth,photo-synthesis-related genes served as useful gene markers for screening elite varieties with good traits in breeding.Cultivar 2007 was superior to cultivar 981 in terms of maintaining high pigment levels in a wide range of light intensities,which is the most suitable for aquaculture.

目的评价艾司氯胺酮对发育期大鼠慢性应激后学习记忆功能及海马N-甲基-D-天冬氨酸受体(NMDAR)-钙-钙调素依赖性蛋白激酶2型(CaMKⅡ)-环磷酸腺苷反应元件结合蛋白(CREB)信号通路的影响。方法清洁级健康SD大鼠60只,雌雄不拘,7日龄,体质量10~15 g,采用随机数字表法分为3组(n=20):对照+生理盐水组(CN组)、慢性应激+生理盐水组(NS组)和慢性应激+艾司氯胺酮组(ES组)。采用慢性不可预知性应激方法建立慢性应激模型。应激刺激结束后,ES组腹腔注射艾司氯胺酮10 mg/kg,NS组腹腔注射等容量生理盐水,连续7 d,1次/d。腹腔给药结束后,行Y迷宫实验和Morris水迷宫实验测定学习记忆功能;取静脉血样,采用ELISA法检测血清皮质醇和ROS浓度;随后麻醉断头取脑,分离海马组织,观察海马CA1区神经元病理学结果,采用Western blot法确定磷酸化NMDAR(p-NMDAR)/NMDAR、磷酸化CaMKⅡ(p-CaMKⅡ)/CaMKⅡ、磷酸化CREB(p-CREB)/CREB表达水平的比值。结果与CN组比较,NS组新臂停留时间缩短,进入新臂次数减少,逃避潜伏期延长,穿越原平台位置次数减少,血清皮质醇和ROS浓度升高,p-NMDAR/NMDAR比值、p-CaMKⅡ/CaMKⅡ比值和p-CREB/CREB比值降低(P<0.05),神经元发生明显病理学损伤;与NS组比较,ES组新臂停留时间延长,进入新臂次数增多,逃避潜伏期缩短,穿越原平台位置次数增多,血清皮质醇和ROS浓度下降,p-NMDAR/NMDAR比值、p-CaMKⅡ/CaMKⅡ比值和p-CREB/CREB比值升高(P<0.05),神经元病理学损伤减轻。结论艾司氯胺酮可改善发育期大鼠慢性应激后学习记忆功能,机制可能与降低氧化应激水平,增强海马NMDAR-CaMKⅡ-CREB信号通路活性有关。

Macrophage M1 polarization plays a crucial role in promoting insulin resistance and fatty liver caused by obesity.However,the regulatory mechanism of adipose tissue macrophages(ATMs) has not yet been well described.Using a high-fat diet(HFD)-induced mouse obesity model,we found that the costimulatory molecule CD226 was highly expressed on ATMs and knockout(KO) of CD226 alleviated obesity and its related liver damage.Loss of CD226 reduced the proportion of macrophages in adipose tissue and lowered serum proinflammatory cytokine levels,which hindered macrophage M1 polarization.In CD226 KO mice fed with a high-fat diet,serum levels of IL-1,IL-12,and TNF-α and the chemokines CCL3 and CXCL16,which are associated with the fatty liver progression,were significantly lower than those in wildtype mice.Furthermore,deficiency of CD226 on macrophages decreased the phosphorylation levels of VAV,Akt,and Foxo1 and thereby upregulated PPARγ.Further administration of PPARγ inhibitor restored the inflammatory factor levels.In summary,loss of CD226 alleviates the HFD-induced obesity and liver damage through inhibition of the accumulation and M1 polarization of ATMs in which PPARγ-dependent signaling pathway is involved,suggesting that CD226 may be identified as a potential molecular target for the clinical treatment of obesity.

目的评价艾司氯胺酮对丙泊酚麻醉致发育期大鼠远期认知功能障碍的影响及磷脂酰肌醇3-激酶(PI3K)/丝氨酸-苏氨酸激酶(Akt)信号通路在其中的作用。方法清洁级健康SD大鼠48只,雌雄不拘,7日龄,体质量10~15 g,采用随机数字表法分为4组(n=12):脂肪乳剂组(C组)、丙泊酚组(P组)、艾司氯胺酮+丙泊酚组(EP组)和PI3K抑制剂LY294002+艾司氯胺酮+丙泊酚组(LYEP组)。C组腹腔注射中/长链脂肪乳注射液100 mg/kg;P组腹腔注射丙泊酚50 mg/kg,待大鼠翻正反射恢复后(40~60 min),再追加丙泊酚50 mg/kg;EP组腹腔注射艾司氯胺酮10 mg/kg,随后再给予丙泊酚,方法同P组;LYEP组经侧脑室注射LY29400225μg,30 min后腹腔注射艾司氯胺酮10 mg/kg,随后给予丙泊酚,方法同P组。于苏醒后2 h时,每组随机处死6只大鼠,采用HE染色法检测海马神经元病理学结果,采用Western blot法检测海马组织Akt、磷酸化Akt(p-Akt)、Bax和cleaved caspase-3的表达。剩余6只大鼠于出生后30 d时采用Y迷宫实验评估学习记忆能力。结果与C组比较,P组、EP组和LYEP组海马组织p-Akt/Akt比值降低,Bax和cleaved caspase-3表达上调,学会所需训练次数增加,正确反应率降低(P<0.05),海马CA1区神经元发生病理学损伤;与P组比较,EP组和LYEP组海马组织p-Akt/Akt比值升高,Bax和cleaved caspase-3表达下调,学会所需训练次数减少,正确反应率升高(P<0.05),海马CA1区神经元病理学损伤减轻;与EP组比较,LYEP组海马组织p-Akt/Akt比值降低,Bax和cleaved caspase-3表达上调,学会所需训练次数增加,正确反应率降低(P<0.05),海马CA1区神经元病理学损伤加重。结论艾司氯胺酮可减轻丙泊酚致发育期大鼠远期认知功能障碍,其机制与激活PI3K/Akt信号通路,抑制神经元凋亡有关。
