The demand for electronic devices has dramatically increased in the past few years.Efficient electronic devices require excellent thermal management systems to extend their operation time and prevent heat accumulation from affecting performance.Carbonaceous materials are considered as one of the ideal thermal management materials due to their excellent physiochemical stability.In addition,since porous-structured carbon materials typically exhibit outstanding thermal conductivity,low density,and large contact area,they have attracted considerable attention from both academia and industry in the last decades.In this review,methods and strategies for the preparation of highly thermally conductive porous carbon-based materials and the factors that influence their thermal conductivity of the materials are summarized.The thermal performance of porous carbonaceous materials fabricated by different approaches and their applications are also discussed.Finally,the potential challenges and strategies for the development and applications of highly thermally conductive porous carbona-ceous materials are discussed.

Trichomes are specialized structures developed from epidermal cells and can protect plants against biotic and abiotic stresses.Trichomes cover carrots during the generative phase.However,the morphology of the carrot trichomes and candidate genes controlling the formation of trichomes are still unclear.This study found that carrot trichomes were nonglandular and unbranched hairs distributed on the stem,leaf,petiole,pedicel,and seed of carrot.Resequencing analysis of a trichome mutant with sparse and short trichomes(sst)and a wild type(wt)with long and dense trichomes on carrot stems was conducted.A total of 15396 genes containing nonsynonymous mutations in sst were obtained,including 42 trichomerelated genes.We also analyzed the transcriptome of the trichomes on secondary branches when these secondary branches were 10 cm long between wt and sst and obtained 6576 differentially expressed genes(DEGs),including 24 trichome-related genes.qRT-PCR validation exhibited three significantly up-regulated DEGs,20 significantly downregulated,and one with no difference.We considered both the resequencing and transcriptome sequencing analyses and found that 12 trichome-related genes that were grouped into five transcription factor families containing nonsynonymous mutations and significantly down-regulated in sst.Therefore,these genes are potentially promising candidate genes whose nonsynonymous mutations and down-regulation may result in scarce and short trichomes mutation on carrot stems in sst.

Identifying and assessing the disaster risk of landslide-prone regions is very critical for disaster prevention and mitigation.Owning to their special advantages,neural network algorithms have been widely used for landslide susceptibility mapping(LSM)in recent decades.In the present study,three advanced neural network models popularly used in relevant studies,i.***.artificial neural network(ANN),one dimensional convolutional neural network(1D CNN)and recurrent neural network(RNN),were evaluated and compared for LSM practice over the Qingchuan County,Sichuan province,China.Extensive experimental results demonstrated satisfactory performances of these three neural network models in accurately predicting susceptible regions.Specifically,ANN and 1D CNN models yielded quite consistent LSM results but slightly differed from those of RNN model spatially.Nevertheless,accuracy evaluations revealed that the RNN model outperformed the other two models both qualitatively and quantitatively but its complexity was relatively high.Experiments concerning training hyper-parameters on the performance of neural network models for LSM suggested that relatively small batch size values with Tanh activation function and SGD optimizer are essential to improve the performance of neural network models for LSM,which may provide a thread to help those who apply these advanced algorithms to improve their efficiency.

Ischemic stroke is one of the most common causes of mortality and disability worldwide.However,treatment efficacy and the progress of research remain unsatisfactory.As the critical support system and essential components in neurovascular units,glial cells and blood vessels(including the bloodbrain barrier)together maintain an optimal microenvironment for neuronal function.They provide nutrients,regulate neuronal excitability,and prevent harmful substances from entering brain tissue.The highly dynamic networks of this support system play an essential role in ischemic stroke through processes including brain homeostasis,supporting neuronal function,and reacting to injuries.However,most studies have focused on postmortem animals,which inevitably lack critical information about the dynamic changes that occur after ischemic stroke.Therefore,a high-precision technique for research in living animals is urgently needed.Two-photon fluorescence laser-scanning microscopy is a powerful imaging technique that can facilitate live imaging at high spatiotemporal resolutions.Twophoton fluorescence laser-scanning microscopy can provide images of the whole-cortex vascular 3D structure,information on multicellular component interactions,and provide images of structure and function in the cranial window.This technique shifts the existing research paradigm from static to dynamic,from flat to stereoscopic,and from single-cell function to multicellular intercommunication,thus providing direct and reliable evidence to identify the pathophysiological mechanisms following ischemic stroke in an intact brain.In this review,we discuss exciting findings from research on the support system after ischemic stroke using two-photon fluorescence laser-scanning microscopy,highlighting the importance of dynamic observations of cellular behavior and interactions in the networks of the brain’s support systems.We show the excellent application prospects and advantages of two-photon fluorescence laser-scanning microscopy and predict future research develo

·AIM:To elucidate the relationship between macular sensitivity and time in range(TIR)obtained from continuous glucose monitoring(CGM)measures in diabetic patients with or without diabetic retinopathy(DR).·METHODS:This was a cross-sectional study including 100 eyes of non-DR patients and 60 eyes of DR patients.An advanced microperimetry was used to quantitate the retinal mean sensitivity(MS)and fixation stability in central macula.TIR of 3.9-10.0 mmol/L was evaluated with CGM.Pearson coefficient analysis and multiple linear regression analysis were used to assess the correlation between TIR and retinal sensitivity.·RESULTS:In a comparison of non-DR patients,significant differences(P0.05).A multivariable linear regression analysis was performed to prove that TIR and SDBG were both independent risk factors for MS reduction in the DR group.·CONCLUSION:TIR is correlated with retinal MS reduction in DR patients,suggesting a useful option for evaluating DR progression.

A tri-color quad-beam digital shearography is proposed to achieve the measurement of absolute three-dimensional(3D) displacement gradients.Four laser beams with three different center wavelengths are symmetrically irradiated to the object surface from the upper and lower left and right directions.Four phase maps are then extracted from the two interferograms obtained from two shots.Based on these four phase maps,the absolute 3D displacement gradients are determined.This means of absolute 3D displacement gradient measurement effectively improves the measurement capability of digital shearography and expands its application range.

The void evolution of large-section plastic mold steel during multi-directional forging(MDF)was investigated using multiscale analysis.To simulate the forging process of the plastic mold steel(SDP1 steel)and realize micro-void reconstruction in a representative volume element(RVE),MDF experiment and void-characteristic evaluation of the SDP1 steel were carried out.Traditional upsetting and stretching forging(TUSF)and MDF were simulated to comparatively analyze the evolution of temperature,effective stress,and effective strain.By embedding RVE with a micro-void and using boundary condition by point tracking into the forging process,the single-void evolution in TUSF and MDF was studied.The effect of void orientation on single-void evolution was also investigated.The multi-scale analysis revealed the following results.(1)Compared with TUSF,MDF achieved a higher efficiency in void closure.(2)The closing efficiency of the void increased with the increase in angle h(the angle between the Z and long axes of the void).(3)The closing efficiency increased with the increase in the orientation angle during the forging process.On the basis of the important role of the main stress in each forging step on the void closure,an integral formula of the main stress was proposed.When main compressive-stress integration reached-0.4,the closed state of the void could be accurately determined.

BACKGROUND The traditional Gamma3 nail is a mainstream treatment for femoral intertrochanteric fractures.Literature reports that the Gamma3U-blade system can increase the stability of the Gamma3 nail and reduce complication incidence.However,comparative studies between the Gamma3U-blade and Gamma3 systems are limited;hence,this meta-analysis was performed to explore the clinical efficacy of these two surgical methods.AIM To investigate the clinical efficacy of Gamma3 and Gamma3 U-blade for intertrochanteric fractures.METHODS A computerized search for Chinese and English literature published from 2010 to 2022 was conducted in PubMed,Cochrane,CNKI,Wanfang,and VIP databases.The search keywords were gamma 3,gamma 3 U blade,and intertrochanteric fracture.Additionally,literature tracking was performed on the references of published literature.The data were analyzed using Revman 5.3 software.Two individuals checked the inputs for accuracy.Continuous variables were described using mean difference and standard deviation,and outcome effect sizes were expressed using ratio OR and 95%confidence interval(CI).High heterogeneity was considered at(P50%),moderate heterogeneity at I2 from 25%to 50%,and low heterogeneity at(P≥0.05,I2<50%).RESULTS Following a comprehensive literature search,review,and analysis,six articles were selected for inclusion in this study.This selection comprised five articles in English and one in Chinese,with publication years spanning from 2016 to 2022.The study with the largest sample size,conducted by Seungbae in 2021,included a total of 304 cases.Statistical analysis:A total of 1063 patients were included in this meta-analysis.The main outcome indicators were:Surgical time:The Gamma3U blade system had a longer surgical time compared to Gamma3 nails(P=0.006,I2=76%).Tip-apex distance:No statistical significance or heterogeneity was observed(P=0.65,I2=0%).Harris Hip score:No statistical significance was found,and low heterogeneity was detected(P=0.26,I2=22%).Union time:No statistical significanc
