A Deep Generative Model with Multiscale Features Enabled Industrial Internet of Things for Intelligent Fault Diagnosis of Bearings

Effective condition monitoring and fault diagnosis of bearings can not only maximize the life of rolling bearings and prevent unexpected shutdowns caused by equipment failures but also eliminate unnecessary costs and waste caused by excessive maintenance.However,the existing deep-learning-based bearing fault diagnosis models have the following defects.First of all,these models have a large demand for fault data.Second,the previous models only consider that single-scale features are generally less effective in diagnosing bearing faults.Therefore,we designed a bearing fault data collection platform based on the Industrial Internet of Things,which is used to collect bearing status data from sensors in real time and feed it back into the diagnostic model.On the basis of this platform,we propose a bearing fault diagnosis model based on deep generative models with multiscale features(DGMMFs)to solve the above problems.The DGMMF model is a multiclassification model,which can directly output the abnormal type of the bearing.Specifically,the DGMMF model uses 4 different variational autoencoder models to augment the bearing data and integrates features of different scales.Compared with single-scale features,these multiscale features contain more information and can perform better.Finally,we conducted a large number of related experiments on the real bearing fault datasets and verified the effectiveness of the DGMMF model using multiple evaluation metrics.The DGMMF model has achieved the highest value under all metrics,among which the value of precision is 0.926,the value of recall is 0.924,the value of accuracy is 0.926,and the value of F1 score is 0.925.

Photochemical multicomponent transformation of acceptor-only diazoalkanes by merging their cycloaddition and carbene reactivities

Herein,we report an efficient photochemical method for the synthesis of poly-substituted pyrazoles through a multicomponent reaction of acceptor-only diazoalkanes,alkynes,and solvents(cyclic ethers or nitriles).The key to this success was driven by the photolysis of acceptor-only diazoalkanes to form free carbene species and the fast in situ[3+2]-cycloaddition formation of nucleophilic N–H pyrazole derivatives.This work also serves as an entry to allow future reaction design on the combination of carbene reactivity of diazoalkanes with their other reaction modes.

Switching between eltrombopag and recombinant human thrombopoietin in patients with immune thrombocytopenia: an observational study

Background:Recombinant human thrombopoietin(rh-TPO)and eltrombopag are two distinct TPO receptor agonists(TPO-RAs)with different mechanisms.During the pandemic,when immunosuppressive medications are controversial,switching to another TPO-RA may be worth exploring in patients who do not benefit from their first TPO-RA.We investigated the outcomes of switching from rh-TPO to eltrombopag or vice versa in immune thrombocytopenia(ITP)patients.Methods:This prospective,open-label,observational investigation included 96 adult ITP patients who needed to switch between rh-TPO and eltrombopag between January 2020 and January 2021 at Peking University People’s Hospital in China.The study evaluated response rates and platelet counts at different time points after the switch,bleeding events,time to response,duration of response,and adverse events.Results:At 6 weeks after switching,response was observed in 21/49 patients(43%)who switched for inefficacy and 34/47 patients(72%)who switched for non-efficacy-related issues.In the inefficacy group,9/27 patients(33%)responded to eltrombopag,and 12/22 patients(55%)responded to rh-TPO.In the non-efficacy-related group,21/26(81%)and 13/21(62%)patients in the eltrombopag and rh-TPO groups maintained their response rates at 6 weeks after switching,respectively.Response at 6 months was achieved in 24/49 patients(49%)switching for inefficacy and 37/47 patients(79%)switching for non-efficacy issues.In the inefficacy group,13/27 patients(48%)responded to eltrombopag,and 11/22 patients(50%)responded to rh-TPO.In the non-efficacy-related group,22/26 patients(85%)and 15/21 patients(71%)in the eltrombopag and rh-TPO groups maintained their response rates at 6 months after switching,respectively.Both eltrombopag and rh-TPO were well tolerated.Conclusions:Our study confirmed the safety and effectiveness of switching between rh-TPO and eltrombopag for ITP patients who had no response to or experienced adverse events with their first TPO-RA.When the switch was motivated by other reasons,including pat

ETS-TEE: An Energy-Efficient Task Scheduling Strategy in a Mobile Trusted Computing Environment

A trusted execution environment(TEE)is a system-on-chip and CPU system with a wide security solution available on today’s Arm application(APP)processors,which dominate the smartphone market.Generally,mobile APPs create a trusted application(TA)in the TEE to process sensitive information,such as payment or message encryption,which is transparent to the APPs running in the rich execution environments(REEs).In detail,the REE and TEE interact and eventually send back the results to the APP in the REE through the interface provided by the TA.Such an operation definitely increases the overhead of mobile APPs.In this paper,we first present a comprehensive analysis of the performance of open-source TEE encrypted text.We then propose a high energy-efficient task scheduling strategy(ETS-TEE).By leveraging the deep learning algorithm,our policy considers the complexity of TA tasks,which are dynamically scheduled between modeling on the local device and offloading to an edge server.We evaluate our approach on Raspberry Pi 3B as the local mobile device and Jetson TX2 as the edge server.The results show that compared with the default scheduling strategy on the local device,our approach achieves an average of 38.0%energy reduction and 1.6×speedup.This greatly reduces the performance loss caused by mobile devices in order to protect the safe execution of applications,so that the trusted execution environment has both security and high performance.

Establishment and verification of a surgical prognostic model for cervical spinal cord injury without radiological abnormality

Some studies have suggested that early surgical treatment can effectively improve the prognosis of cervical spinal cord injury without radiological abnormality, but no research has focused on the development of a prognostic model of cervical spinal cord injury without radiological abnormality. This retrospective analysis included 43 patients with cervical spinal cord injury without radiological abnormality. Seven potential factors were assessed: age, sex, external force strength causing damage, duration of disease, degree of cervical spinal stenosis, Japanese Orthopaedic Association score, and physiological cervical curvature. A model was established using multiple binary logistic regression analysis. The model was evaluated by concordant profiling and the area under the receiver operating characteristic curve. Bootstrapping was used for internal validation. The prognostic model was as follows: logit(P) =-25.4545 + 21.2576 VALUE + 1.2160SCORE-3.4224 TIME, where VALUE refers to the Pavlov ratio indicating the extent of cervical spinal stenosis, SCORE refers to the Japanese Orthopaedic Association score(0–17) after the operation, and TIME refers to the disease duration(from injury to operation). The area under the receiver operating characteristic curve for all patients was 0.8941(95% confidence interval, 0.7930–0.9952). Three factors assessed in the predictive model were associated with patient outcomes: a great extent of cervical stenosis, a poor preoperative neurological status, and a long disease duration. These three factors could worsen patient outcomes. Moreover, the disease prognosis was considered good when logit(P) ≥-2.5105. Overall, the model displayed a certain clinical value. This study was approved by the Biomedical Ethics Committee of the Second Affiliated Hospital of Xi'an Jiaotong University, China(approval number: 2018063) on May 8, 2018.

Organophosphorus compounds have attracted continuous attention in materials science, agrochemical and pharmaceutical fields due to their unique bioactivities. Thus, the development of novel and robust manners for the construction new C—P bond has therefore gained great interests in synthetic organic chemistry. Because of their intrinsic sustainability and green chemistry character, visible light-induced photoredox catalysis has been widely applied in the construction of new chemical bonds, including the formation of C—P bond. In this review, we summarized recent achievements in C—P bond formation reactions initiated by visible light-induced photoredox catalysis, which mainly focusing on the discussion of reaction design and the mechanism.

Blood vessels are essential for nutrient and oxygen delivery and waste removal.Scaffold-repairing materials with functional vascular networks are widely used in bone tissue engineering.Additive manufacturing is a manufacturing technology that creates three-dimensional solids by stacking substances layer by layer,mainly including but not limited to 3D printing,but also 4D printing,5D printing and 6D printing.It can be effectively combined with vascularization to meet the needs of vascularized tissue scaffolds by precisely tuning the mechanical structure and biological properties of smart vascular scaffolds.Herein,the development of neovascularization to vascularization to bone tissue engineering is systematically discussed in terms of the importance of vascularization to the tissue.Additionally,the research progress and future prospects of vascularized 3D printed scaffold materials are highlighted and presented in four categories:functional vascularized 3D printed scaffolds,cell-based vascularized 3D printed scaffolds,vascularized 3D printed scaffolds loaded with specific carriers and bionic vascularized 3D printed scaffolds.Finally,a brief review of vascularized additive manufacturing-tissue scaffolds in related tissues such as the vascular tissue engineering,cardiovascular system,skeletal muscle,soft tissue and a discussion of the challenges and development efforts leading to significant advances in intelligent vascularized tissue regeneration is presented.

Strategies aimed at defining,discovering,and developing alternatives to traditional antibiotics will underlie the development of sustainable agricultural systems.Among such strategies,antimicrobial peptides(AMPs)with broad-spectrum antimicrobial activity and multifaceted mechanisms of action are recognized as ideal alternatives in the post-antibiotic era.In particular,AMPs derived from microbes with active metabolisms that can adapt to a variety of extreme environments have long been sought after.Consequently,this review summarizes information on naturally occurring AMPs,including their biological activity,antimicrobial mechanisms,and the preparation of microbial-derived AMPs;it also outlines their applications and the challenges presented by their use in the agroindustry.By dissecting the research results on microbial-derived AMPs of previous generations,this study contributes valuable knowledge on the exploration and realization of the applications of AMPs in sustainable agriculture.
