Trends and hotspots in gastrointestinal neoplasms risk assessment: A bibliometric analysis from 1984 to 2022

BACKGROUND Gastrointestinal neoplasm(GN)significantly impact the global cancer burden and mortality,necessitating early detection and treatment.Understanding the evolution and current state of research in this field is vital.AIM To conducts a comprehensive bibliometric analysis of publications from 1984 to 2022 to elucidate the trends and hotspots in the GN risk assessment research,focusing on key contributors,institutions,and thematic evolution.METHODS This study conducted a bibliometric analysis of data from the Web of Science Core Collection database using the"bibliometrix"R package,VOSviewer,and CiteSpace.The analysis focused on the distribution of publications,contributions by institutions and countries,and trends in keywords.The methods included data synthesis,network analysis,and visualization of international collaboration networks.RESULTS This analysis of 1371 articles on GN risk assessment revealed a notable evolution in terms of research focus and collaboration.It highlights the United States'critical role in advancing this field,with significant contributions from institutions such as Brigham and Women's Hospital and the National Cancer Institute.The last five years,substantial advancements have been made,representing nearly 45%of the examined literature.Publication rates have dramatically increased,from 20 articles in 2002 to 112 in 2022,reflecting intensified research efforts.This study underscores a growing trend toward interdisciplinary and international collaboration,with the Journal of Clinical Oncology standing out as a key publication outlet.This shift toward more comprehensive and collaborative research methods marks a significant step in addressing GN risks.CONCLUSION This study underscores advancements in GN risk assessment through genetic analyses and machine learning and reveals significant geographical disparities in research emphasis.This calls for enhanced global collaboration and integration of artificial intelligence to improve cancer prevention and treatment accuracy,ultimately enha

Design of an automated robotic microinjection system for batch injection of zebrafish embryos and larvae

This paper presents the design of a vision-based automated robotic microinjection system for batch injection of both zebrafish embryos and larvae.A novel visual recognition algorithm based on an automatic threshold and excessive dilatation is introduced to accurately identify the center of zebrafish embryos and larval yolks.A corresponding software system is developed using the producer-consumer model as the framework structure,and a friendly user interface is designed to allow operators to choose from a range of desired functions according to their different needs.In addition,a novel microstructural agarose device is designed and fabricated to simultaneously immobilize mixed batches of embryos and larvae.Moreover,a prototype microinjection system is fabricated by integrating hardware devices with visual algorithms.An experimental study is conducted to verify the performance of the robotic microinjection system.The results show that the reported system can accurately identify zebrafish embryos and larvae and efficiently complete batch microinjection tasks of the mixtures with an injection success rate of 92.05%in 13.88 s per sample.Compared with manual and existing microinjection systems,the proposed system demonstrates the merits of versatility,excellent efficiency,high success rate,high survival rate,and sufficient stability.

Soft coarse-grained particle model for particle-fluid systems

By modeling a group of neighboring real particles as a single coarse-grained particle(CGP),discrete particle method(DPM)is now capable of simulating industrial-scale particle-fluid systems.However,a systematic approach to determine the CGP properties and develop their interaction models is still lacking,which casts uncertainty on the predictivity of the method.In this study,collisions between predefined particle groups are analyzed to construct kernel functions for modeling the CGPs and then the model parameters are determined by equating the statistical properties of the CGPs and the real particles in the physical process studied.This approach is implemented for homogeneous cooling of granular gas,then demonstrated effective in simulating experimental fluidized beds.

MXene,a transition metal carbide/nitride,has been prominent as an ideal electrochemical active material for supercapacitors.However,the low MXene load limits its practical applications.As environmental concerns and sustainable development become more widely recognized,it is necessary to explore a greener and cleaner technology to recycle textile by-products such as cotton.The present study proposes an effective 3D fabrication method that uses MXene to fabricate waste denim felt into ultralight and flexible supercapacitors through needling and carbonization.The 3D structure provided more sites for loading MXene onto Z-directional fiber bundles,resulting in more efficient ion exchange between the electrolyte and electrodes.Furthermore,the carbonization process removed the specific adverse groups in MXenes,further improving the specific capacitance,energy density,power density and electrical conductivity of supercapacitors.The electrodes achieve a maximum specific capacitance of 1748.5 mF cm-2 and demonstrate remarkable cycling stability maintaining more than 94%after 15,000 galvanostatic charge/discharge cycles.Besides,the obtained supercapacitors present a maximum specific capacitance of 577.5 mF cm^(-2),energy density of 80.2μWh cm^(-2)and power density of 3 mW cm^(-2),respectively.The resulting supercapacitors can be used to develop smart wearable power devices such as smartwatches,laying the foundation for a novel strategy of utilizing waste cotton in a high-quality manner.

3D coarse-grained DPM simulation of the MIP reaction-regeneration loop

The reactor-regenerator loop is the core facility of the maximizing iso-paraffin(MIP)process.Although the discrete particle method(DPM)simulation can provide detailed information at the particle scale,it has been unable to simulate such a complex loop system due to limitations of coarse-grained(CG)models,computing software,and hardware.In this study,a newly proposed soft-shell CG-DPM model with a CG ratio of up to 800 is used to simulate a 3.5 Mt/a industrial-scale MIP reactor-regenerator loop.The solid fraction distribution obtained is found to agree well with in-situ measurements.Hydrodynamic properties including the distribution of solid fraction,gas and solid velocity,standard derivation of solid fraction with time,temporal distribution of the flow field,and particle residence time distribution are measured in the simulation,which are meaningful to better design and operate such systems in the future.

Gas–solid reactor optimization based on EMMS-DPM simulation and machine learning

Design,scaling-up,and optimization of industrial reactors mainly depend on step-by-step experiments and engineering experience,which is usually time-consuming,high cost,and high risk.Although numerical simulation can reproduce high resolution details of hydrodynamics,thermal transfer,and reaction process in reactors,it is still challenging for industrial reactors due to huge computational cost.In this study,by combining the numerical simulation and artificial intelligence(AI)technology of machine learning(ML),a method is proposed to efficiently predict and optimize the performance of industrial reactors.A gas–solid fluidization reactor for the methanol to olefins process is taken as an example.1500 cases under different conditions are simulated by the coarse-grain discrete particle method based on the Energy-Minimization Multi-Scale model,and thus,the reactor performance data set is constructed.To develop an efficient reactor performance prediction model influenced by multiple factors,the ML method is established including the ensemble learning strategy and automatic hyperparameter optimization technique,which has better performance than the methods based on the artificial neural network.Furthermore,the operating conditions for highest yield of ethylene and propylene or lowest pressure drop are searched with the particle swarm optimization algorithm due to its strength to solve non-linear optimization problems.Results show that decreasing the methanol inflow rate and increasing the catalyst inventory can maximize the yield,while decreasing methanol the inflow rate and reducing the catalyst inventory can minimize the pressure drop.The two objectives are thus conflicting,and the practical operations need to be compromised under different circumstance.

Intensive management enhances mycorrhizal respiration but decreases free-living microbial respiration by affecting microbial abundance and community structure in Moso bamboo forest soils

Intensive management is known to markedly alter soil carbon(C)storage and turnover in Moso bamboo forests compared with extensive management.However,the effects of intensive management on soil respiration(RS)components remain unclear.This study aimed to evaluate the changes in different RScomponents(root,mycorrhizal,and free-living microorganism respiration)in Moso bamboo forests under extensive and intensive management practices.A1-year in-situ microcosm experiment was conducted to quantify the RScomponents in Moso bamboo forests under the two management practices using mesh screens of varying sizes.The results showed that the total RSand its components exhibited similar seasonal variability between the two management practices.Compared with extensive management,intensive management significantly increased cumulative respiration from mycorrhizal fungi by 36.73%,while decreased cumulative respiration from free-living soil microorganisms by 8.97%.Moreover,the abundance of arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi(AMF)increased by 43.38%,but bacterial and fungal abundances decreased by 21.65%and 33.30%,respectively,under intensive management.Both management practices significantly changed the bacterial community composition,which could be mainly explained by soil pH and available potassium.Mycorrhizal fungi and intensive management affected the interrelationships between bacterial members.Structural equation modeling indicated that intensive management changed the cumulative RSby elevating AMF abundance and lowering bacterial abundance.We concluded that intensive management reduced the microbial respiration-derived C loss,but increased mycorrhizal respiration-derived C loss.

Aldehyde oxidase mediated enantioselective metabolic health risk of dinotefuran

Chiral pollutants often pose significant differential environmental health risks.In this study,the biotransformation of chiral dinotefuran(DIN)and its enantioselective metabolic toxicity mechanisms have been systemically investigated.Firstly,reversedphase chromatography-high resolution mass spectrometry was developed to quantify the content of DIN R/S chiral enantiomer with pg level sensitivity,revealing a lower elimination rate constant(K_(e))of S-DIN(0.730 h^(-1))than R-DIN(0.746 h^(-1)).Secondly,the interaction mechanism between DIN metabolism and important endogenous bioactive molecules,such as aldehyde oxidase(AOX)and neurotransmitters,was revealed.The DIN nitro-group was converted into a guanidine group by the reducing site of nearby flavin adenine dinucleotide(FAD)in AOX with the preferred higher affinity of S-configuration.Meanwhile,the endogenous tryptophan(Trp)aldehyde metabolic intermediate,5-hydroxyindoleacetaldehyde(5-HIAL),provides a persistent electron donor for DIN reduction via the oxidation-catalyzed site in AOX,resulting in remarkable up-regulation of monoamine neurotransmitters such as serotonin and dopamine.Thirdly,the higher level of neurotransmitters further mediated dysregulation of oxylipin homeostasis via the serotonergic pathway,where S-DIN exhibited more pronounced liver lipid damage and environmental health risk with the accumulated lipid biomarkers,oxidized triglyceride(OxTG)and oxidized sphingomyelin(OxSM).This study elucidates the AOX-mediated enantioselectivity metabolic pathway of DIN,providing a new analytical method for chiral pollutants and paves the way for their health risk assessments.

Tetraphenylethene-based hole transporting material for highly efficient and stable perovskite solar cells

2,2,7,7-Tetrakis-(N,N-di-p-methoxyphenylamine)-9,9-spirobifluorene(Spiro-OMeTAD)has been identified as the most widely used and effective hole transporting material(HTM)in perovskite solar cells(PSCs).However,the complicated multistep synthesis and low intrinsic hole mobility of Spiro-OMe TAD limit its commercialized application.Therefore,developing highly efficient HTMs with less synthetic steps becomes increasingly important.Moreover,understanding hot carriers transfer dynamics at the interface of perovskite layer and hole transport layer is crucial for further enhancing PSCs performance towards Shockley-Queisser limit,which still lacks full investigation to date.Herein,a new HTM based on tetraphenylethene(WP1)was successfully synthesized by a simple one-step reaction process.It was found that WP1-based HTM exhibits more matched energy level,higher hole mobility and conductivity than those of the control Spiro-OMe TAD.The femtosecond transient absorption results reveal that the transfer rate of hot holes in perovskite/WP1 sample is four times higher than that of perovskite/Spiro-OMeTAD,thereby helping enhance the device performance.Consequently,the efficiency of PSCs is enhanced to 24.04%(WP1)from 22.85%(Spiro-OMeTAD).Moreover,the un-encapsulated device prepared with WP1 exhibits better long-term stability,retaining 87%of its initial PCE value after storing for 72 days under air environment,while the reference device shows76%of its initial value.This work indicates that simple tetraphenylethene-based organic small molecule could be a very promising HTM candidate for highly efficient PSCs,and gives some significant insights for understanding intrinsic hot carriers transfer dynamics in device.

Gastrointestinal contrast-enhanced ultrasonography for diagnosis and treatment of peptic ulcer in children

BACKGROUND The detection rate of peptic ulcer in children is improving,with development of diagnostic procedures.Gastroscopy is the gold standard for the diagnosis of peptic ulcer,but it is an invasive procedure.Gastrointestinal contrast-enhanced ultrasonography(CEUS)has the advantages of being painless,noninvasive,nonradioactive,easy to use,and safe.AIM To investigate the clinical value of CEUS for diagnosis and treatment of peptic ulcer in children.METHODS We investigated 43 children with digestive tract symptoms in our hospital from January 2021 to June 2022.All children were examined by routine ultrasound,gastrointestinal CEUS,and gastroscopy.The pathological results of gastroscopy were taken as the gold standard.Routine ultrasonography was performed before gastrointestinal CEUS.Conventional ultrasound showed the thickness of the gastroduodenal wall,gastric peristalsis,and the adjacent organs and tissues around the abdominal cavity.Gastrointestinal CEUS recorded the thickness of the gastroduodenal wall;the size,location and shape of the ulcer;gastric peristalsis;and adjacent organs and tissues around the abdominal cavity.The results of routine ultrasound and gastrointestinal ultrasound were compared with those of gastroscopy to evaluate the diagnostic results and coincidence rate of routine ultrasound and gastrointestinal CEUS.All children received informed consent from their guardians for CEUS.This study was reviewed and approved by the hospital medical ethics committee.RESULTS Among the 43 children,17(15 male,2 female)were diagnosed with peptic ulcer by gastroscopy.There were 26 children with nonpeptic ulcer.There were eight cases of peptic ulcer and 35 of nonpeptic ulcer diagnosed by conventional ultrasound.The diagnostic coincidence rate of peptic ulcer in children diagnosed by conventional ultrasound was 79.1%(34/43),which was significantly different from that of gastroscopy(P=0.033).It indicates that the coincidence rate of gastrointestinal contrast-enhanced ultrasound and gastroscope is low.Fifteen cas
