The continuously growing importance of batteries for powering(hybrid)electric vehicles and storing renewable energy has prompted a renewed focus on lithium-metal batteries(LMBs)in recent years,as its high theoretical specific capacity of about 3860 mA h g^(-1) and very low redox potential(-3.04 V vs.the standard hydrogen electrode)promise substantially higher energy densities compared to current lithium-ion batteries(LIBs)[1].However,lithium metal electrodes face severe challenges associated with the risk of dendritic lithium deposition and the high reactivity with traditional organic liquid electrolytes,resulting in a continuous loss of electrochemically active lithium and a relatively low Coulombic efficiency[2].To address these challenges,solid inorganic and polymer electrolytes have emerged as a potentially saferalternative.

Effect of wire mesh casing treatment on axial compressor performance and stability

In this paper,a kind of Wire Mesh Casing Treatment(WMCT)is proposed to improve the stable operating range of the compressor.In contrast to the traditional circumferential groove,as for WMCT,a layer of wire mesh is laid on the surface of the circumferential groove.Parametric studies were conducted on the low-speed axial flow compressor,including the groove width,axial location,and mesh count.The optimum axial location for WMCT is related to its groove width.A higher wire mesh count results in a smaller compressor stall margin improvement.Steady simulations were carried out to study the effect of WMCT on the flow structure of the compressor.The wire mesh in the WMCT has a certain flow resistance,which restricts the flow into and out of the groove.Due to the WMCT,the flow parameter in the tip region of the rotor is less sensitive to changes in the operating conditions of the compressor.The WMCT causes the rotor tip blade loading to shift backward,inhibiting the formation of spill forward of the leakage flow,and thus improving the stability of the compressor.The flow resistance on the groove surface is a new degree-of-freedom for the casing treatment designer.

This article deals with the sharp discrete isoperimetric inequalities in analysis and geometry for planar convex polygons. First, the analytic isoperimetric inequalities based on the Schur convex function are established. In the wake of the analytic isoperimetric inequalities, Bonnesen-style isoperimetric inequalities and inverse Bonnesen-style inequalities for the planar convex polygons are obtained.

Objective:Acute lung injury(ALI) is characterized by inflammation and currently lacks an efficacious pharmacological intervention.The medicine combination of Lonicerae Japonicae Flos(LJF) and Forsythiae Fructus(FF) demonstrates combined properties in its anti-infective,anti-inflammatory,and therapeutic effects,particularly in alleviating respiratory symptoms.In previous studies,Chinese medicine has shown promising efficacy in lipopolysaccharides(LPS)-induced ALI.However,there have been no reports of LJF and FF pairing for lung injury.The aim of this study is to compare the efficacy of herb pair Lonicerae Japonicae Flos-Forsythiae Fructus(LF) with LJF or FF alone in the treatment of ALI,and to explore whether LJF and FF have a combined effect in the treatment of lung injury,along with the underlying mechanism involved.Methods:A total of 36 mice were divided into six groups(control,model,LJF,FF,LF,dexamethasone)based on the treatments they received after undergoing sham-operation/LPS tracheal instillation.H&E staining and pulmonary edema indexes were used to evaluate lung injury severity.Alveolar exudate cells(AECs) were counted based on cell count in bronchoalveolar lavage fluid(BALF),and neutrophil percentage in BALF was measured using flow cytometry.Myeloperoxidase(MPO) activity in BALF was measured using enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay(ELISA),while the production of IL-1β,TNF-α,and IL-6 in the lung and secretion level of them in BALF were detected by quantitative polymerase chain reaction(qPCR)and ELISA.The effect of LJF,FF,and LF on the expression of Caspase-1 and IL-1β proteins in bone marrow derived macrophages(BMDMs) supernatant was assessed using Western blot method under various inflammasome activation conditions.In addition,the concentration of IL-1β and changes in lactatedehydrogenase(LDH) release levels in BMDMs supernatant after LJF,FF,and LF administration,respectively,were measured using ELISA.Furthermore,the effects of LJF,FF and LF on STING and IRF3 phosphorylation in BMDMs were detected by West

Background: Idiosyncratic drug-induced liver injury(IDILI) is a serious side effect of drugs, Epimedii Folium(EF) is unequivocally implicated in idiosyncratic liver injury onset, potentially due to its ability to perturb the NOD-like receptor family pyrin domain containing 3(NLRP3) inflammasome. Fructus Ligustri Lucidi(FLL), a frequently used medicinal combination with EF, has not yet been investigated for its ability to ameliorate EF-associated hepatotoxicity. Aims and Objectives: Study on the mechanism of compatibility of FLL to alleviate liver injury caused by EF. Materials and Methods: Western blot was used to determine the expression of related proteins, ELISA was used to detect the secretion of related inflammatory factors IL-1β, IL-18, IL-6 and TNF-α, liver injury indexes were detected and liver pathological tissue staining was used to evaluate the liver injury. Results: Our results demonstrated that EF exerted a particular augmenting effect on the stimulation of the NLRP3 inflammasome mediated by nigericin or ATP, whereas FLL suppressed the NLRP3 inflammasome stimulation. Furthermore, an equal EF to FLL ratio significantly reduced the stimulatory effects of EF. Moreover, EF has the potential to induce hepatic injury and augment pro-inflammatory cytokine synthesis in rats subjected to LPS. However, when combined with FLL, the detrimental effects of EF were mitigated. Conclusions: FLL possesses the capacity to attenuate EF-associated hepatotoxicity by suppressing EF-triggered NLRP3 inflammasome activation. Thus, FLL holds promise for improving the clinical safety profile of EF, shedding light on the potential of compatibility and detoxification theories in traditional Chinese medicine.

A General Simulation Method for Complex Deformation of Irregular-Shaped Origami Configurations

Most existing treatments for origami-folding simulations have focused on regular-shaped configurations.This article aims to introduce a general strategy for simulating and analyzing the deformation process of irregular shapes by means of computational capabilities nowadays.To better simulate origami deformation with folding orders,the concept of plane follow-up is introduced to achieve automated computer simulation of complex folding patterns,thereby avoiding intersection and penetration between planes.Based on the evaluation criteria such as the lowest storage energy with tightening and the fastest pace from tightening to unfolding,the optimal crease distribution patterns for four irregular(‘N’-,‘T’-,‘O’-,and‘P’-shaped)origami configurations are then presented under five candidates.When the dimensions of the origami are fixed,it is discovered that simpler folding patterns lead to faster deformation of the origami configuration.When the folding complexity is fixed,higher strain energy results in more rapid origami expansion.

Manipulating strain mode and degree that can be applied to epitaxial complex oxide thin films have been a cornerstone of strain engineering.In recent years,lift-off and transfer technology of the epitaxial oxide thin films have been developed that enabled the integration of heterostructures without the limitation of material types and crystal orientations.Moreover,twisted integration would provide a more interesting strategy in artificial magnetoelectric heterostructures.A specific twist angle between the ferroelectric and ferromagnetic oxide layers corresponds to the distinct strain regulation modes in the magnetoelectric coupling process,which could provide some insight in to the physical phenomena.In this work,the La_(0.67)Sr_(0.33)MnO_(3)(001)/0.7Pb(Mg_(1/3)Nb_(2/3))O_(3)-0.3PbTiO_(3)(011)(LSMO/PMN-PT)heterostructures with 45.and 0.twist angles were assembled via water-etching and transfer process.The transferred LSMO films exhibit a fourfold magnetic anisotropy with easy axis along LSMO.A coexistence of uniaxial and fourfold magnetic anisotropy with LSMO[110]easy axis is observed for the 45°Sample by applying a 7.2 kV cm^(−1)electrical field,significantly different from a uniaxial anisotropy with LSMO[100]easy axis for the 0°Sample.The fitting of the ferromagnetic resonance field reveals that the strain coupling generated by the 45°twist angle causes different lattice distortion of LSMO,thereby enhancing both the fourfold and uniaxial anisotropy.This work confirms the twisting degrees of freedom for magnetoelectric coupling and opens opportunities for fabricating artificial magnetoelectric heterostructures.

Herein we report the facile synthesis of a series of novel N-O reagents and identify N′-di-Boc-N′′-[(mesitylsulfonyl)oxy]-guanidine as an efficient imidating reagent.This reagent is synthetically scalable and bench-stable,yet it shows unprecedented reactivity and chemoselectivity towards S(II)in buffer/hexafluoroisopropanol(HFIP)system,to generate a new class of Nguanyl sulfilimines.Further transformation of N-guanyl sulfilimines to N-guanyl sulfoximines provides us a chance to investigate these rarely reached compounds,which are shown to be versatile precursors to a variety of N-heterocyclic and NHsulfoximines.Our work provides an addition to the tool box of both sulfur imidation and guanidine synthesis,especially for the need of rapid and selective modifications of sulfur(II)center under biocompatible conditions.

Extreme ultraviolet(EUV)lithography with high numerical aperture(NA)is a future technology to manufacture the integrated circuit in sub-nanometer dimension.Meanwhile,source mask co-optimization(SMO)is an extensively used approach for advanced lithography process beyond 28 nm technology node.This work proposes a novel SMO method to improve the image fidelity of high-NA EUV lithography system.A fast high-NA EUV lithography imaging model is established first,which includes the effects of mask three-dimensional structure and anamorphic magnification.Then,this paper develops an efficient SMO method that combines the gradient-based mask optimization algorithm and the compressivesensing-based source optimization algorithm.A mask rule check(MRC)process is further proposed to simplify the optimized mask pattern.Results illustrate that the proposed SMO method can significantly reduce the lithography patterning error,and maintain high computational efficiency.

High fecundity is a common characteristic of insect pests which increases the difficulty of population control.Serine/threonine kinase Akt is an indispensable component of the insulin signaling pathway.Silencing of LsAkt severely hinders reproduction in Lasioderma serricorne,a stored product insect pest.However,the post-transcriptional pathway of LsAkt in L.serricorne remains unknown.This study identified 2 binding sites of miR-9c-5p and novel-mir50 in the coding sequences of LsAkt.The expression profiles of 2 microRNAs(miRNAs)and LsAkt displayed an opposite pattern during the adult stages.Luciferase reporter assay showed that novel-mir50 and miR-9c-5p could downregulate the expression of LsAkt.Overexpression of miR-9c-5p and novel-mir50 by injection of mimics inhibited the expression of LsAkt and reduced oviposition,decreased egg hatchability,and blocked ovarian development.It also decreased the expression of genes involved in ovarian development(LsVg and LsVgR)and the nutritional signaling pathway(LsTOR,LsS6K,and Ls4EBP),and reduced the phosphorylation of Akt.Conversely,injection of miR-9c-5p and novel-mir50 inhibitors induced the expressions of LsAkt,LsVg,LsVgR,LsTOR,LsS6K,and Ls4EBP,enhanced Akt phosphorylation level,and accelerated ovarian development.Injection of bovine insulin downregulated the expression of miR-9c-5p and novel-mir50 and upregulated the LsAkt expression.It also rescued the reproductive development defects associated with miR-9c-5p/novel-mir50 overexpression,forming a positive regulatory loop of insulin signaling.These results indicate that miR-9c-5p/novel-mir50 regulates the female reproduction of L.serricorne by targeting Akt in response to insulin signaling.The data also demonstrate the effects of the insulin/miRNA/Akt regulatory axis in insect reproduction.
