Background:Depression is a debilitating psychiatric disorder with a huge socioeconomic burden,and its treatment relies on ***,the melatonergic system has been implicated in the pathophysiology and treatment of *** this study,We observed the effects of melatonin(MT) on depression-like behavior induced by chronic unpredictable mild stress(CUMS) in rats,and its molecular mechanism was ***:Adult male Sprague-Dawley(SD) rats were exposed to CUMS for 4 *** or saline were injected *** changes of SD rats was detected by open field test,sugar preference test,elevated 0 maze test and forced swimming *** addition,the plasma corticosterone level and the expression of endoplasmic reticulum stress-related protein in hippocampus of rats were ***:Compared with the control group,the CUMS-exposed SD rats showed depression-like behavior,which was significantly improved by MT ***,CUMS induced endoplasmic reticulum stress and JNK phosphorylation in *** treatment could significantly reverse the endoplasmic reticulum stress and JNK phosphorylation induced by *** results suggest that MT improves depression-like behavior by inhibiting endoplasmic reticulum stress induced by ***:This study demonstrates that MT can improve depression-like behavior induced by CUMS,which may be related to the inhibition of endoplasmic reticulum stress cascade in hippocampus.

Background:The human epidermal growth factor(HER2/neu) oncoprotein is composed of an intracellular tyrosine kinase portion,a short transmembrane section,and an extracellular ligand-binding domain(ECD). The latter is frequently cleaved from the surface of breast cancer cells and the serum HER2 ECD levels can be detected by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay(ELISA).Consistent with majority of reports,our prior study showed that high circulating levels of the HER2 ECD indicates poor prognosis in 207 patients with metastatic breast *** the present study,we aimed to elucidate whether serum HER2 ECD levels would predict the clinical outcome of metastatic breast cancer patients.

Various methods for synthesis of 2-methyl-5,6-(1,4, 7,10,13-pentaoxatridecamethylene)benzotellurazole (8) are described. Under different conditions, alkylation of compound 8 with methyl iodide gave telluronium salt 1,2-dimethyl-5,6-(1,4,7,10,13-pentaoxatridecamethylene)benzotellurazolium iodide (15) or quaternary ammonium salt 2,3-dimethyl-5,6-(1,4,7,10,13-pentaoxatridecamethylene)benzotellurazolium iodide (14) in high yields, repectively. The cyanine dye 3,3'-dimethyl-5,6,5',6'-bis(1,4,7,10,13-pentaoxatridecamethylene)telluracarbocyanine iodide (16) is obtained by condensation of 14 with ethyl orthoformate in acetic anhydride, The visible absorption of the cyanine dye is also discussed.

A joint probability density is derived for wavelengths and wave heights. It is asymmetric and depends only on the spectral bandwidth epsilon defined by Cartwright and Longuet-Higgins (1956). After that a theoretical probability density for wave steepness is obtained. It tends to Rayleigh distribution as epsilon --> 0. A comparison between theoretical steepness distribution and laboratory experiment result shows good agreement.
