Acoustics-Based Autonomous Docking for A Deep-Sea Resident ROV

This paper presents autonomous docking of an inhouse built resident Remotely Operated Vehicle(ROV),called Rover ROV,through acoustic guided techniques.A novel cage-type docking station has been developed.The docking station can be placed on a deep-sea lander,taking the Rover ROV to the seafloor.Instead of using vision-based pose estimation techniques and expensive navigation sensors,the Rover ROV docking adopts an ultra-short baseline(USBL)and low-cost inertial sensors to build an adaptive fault-tolerant integrated navigation system.To solve the problem of sonar-based failure positioning,the measurement residuals are exploited to detect measurement faults.Then,an adaptation scheme for estimating the statistical characteristics of noise in real-time is proposed,which can provide robust and smooth positioning results.It is more suitable for a compact and low-cost deep-sea resident ROV.Field experiments have been conducted successfully in the Qiandao Lake and the South China Sea area with a depth of 3000 m,respectively.The experimental results show that the functionality of autonomous docking has been achieved.Under the guidance of the navigation system,the Rover ROV can autonomously and efficiently return to the docking station within a range of 100 m even when the amounts of outliers exist in the acoustic positioning data.These achievements can be applied to current ROVs by an easy retrofit.

The need for bladder reconstruction and side effects of cystoplasty have spawned the demand for the development of alternative material substitutes.Biomaterials such as submucosa of small intestine(SIS)have been widely used as patches for bladder repair,but the outcomes are not fully satisfactory.To capture stem cells in situ has been considered as a promising strategy to speed up the process of re-cellularization and functionalization.In this study,we have developed an anti-CD29 antibody-conjugated SIS scaffold(AC-SIS)which is capable of specifically capturing urine-derived stem cells(USCs)in situ for tissue repair and regeneration.The scaffold has exhibited effective capture capacity and sound biocompatibility.In vivo experiment proved that the AC-SIS scaffold could promote rapid endothelium healing and smooth muscle regeneration.The endogenous stem cell capturing scaffolds has thereby provided a new revenue for developing effective and safer bladder patches.

Three-dimensional CeO_(2)@carbon-quantum-dots scaffold modified with Au nanoparticles on flexible substrates for high performance gas sensing at room temperature

High-performance gas sensing materials operated at room temperature(RT) are attractive for a variety of real-time gas monitoring applications,especially with the excellent durability and flexibility of wearable sensor.The constructing heterostructure is one of the significant approaches in design strategies of sensing materials.This heterostructure effectively increases the active site for improving sensing performance and decreasing energy consumption.Herein,the heterostructure of Au nanoparticles modified CeO_(2)@carbon-quantum-dots(Au/CeO_(2)@CQDs) with a three-dimensional(3D) scaffold structure are successfully synthesized by an effective strategy,which can apply for preparing flexible gas sensor.The gas sensing properties of Au/CeO_(2)@CQDs based on flexible substrate are obtained under long-term repeated NO_(2) exposure at RT.Meanwhile,the long-term mechanical stability of this gas sensing device is also detected after different bending cycles.The Au/CeO_(2)@CQDs based on flexible substrate sensor exhibits excellent performance,including higher sensitivity(47.2),faster response(18 s)and recovery time(22 s) as well as longer-term stability than performance of pure materials.The obtained sensor also reveals outstanding mechanical flexibility,which is only a tiny response fluctuation(8.1%) after 500 bending/relaxing cycles.Therefore,our study demonstrates the enormous potential of this sensing materials for hazardous gas monitoring in future portable and wearable sensing platform.

Promotion of right ventricular outflow tract reconstruction using a novel cardiac patch incorporated with hypoxia-pretreated urine-derived stem cells

Approximately 25%of patients with congenital heart disease require implantation of patches to repair.However,most of the currently available patches are made of inert materials with unmatched electrical conductivity and mechanical properties,which may lead to an increased risk for arrhythmia and heart failure.In this study,we have developed a novel Polyurethane/Small intestinal submucosa patch(PSP)with mechanical and electrical properties similar to those of the native myocardial tissue,and assessed its feasibility for the reconstruction of right ventricular outflow tract.A right ventricular outflow tract reconstruction model was constructed in 40 rabbits.Compared with commercially available bovine pericardium patch,the PSP patch has shown better histocompatibility and biodegradability,in addition with significantly improved cardiac function.To tackle the significant fibrosis and relatively poor vascularization during tissue remodeling,we have further developed a bioactive patch by incorporating the PSP composites with urine-derived stem cells(USCs)which were pretreated with hypoxia.The results showed that the hypoxia-pretreated bioactive patch could significantly inhibit fibrosis and promote vascularization and muscularization,resulting in better right heart function.Our findings suggested that the PSP patch combined with hypoxia-pretreated USCs may provide a better strategy for the treatment of congenital heart disease.

A Cross-linked Polyethylene with Recyclability and Mechanical Robustness Enabled by Establishment of Multiple Hydrogen Bonds Network via Reactive Melt Blending

Physical cross-linking by hydrogen-bonds (H-bonds), providing a good combination of application properties of thermosets and processability of thermoplastics, is a potential strategy to resolve the recycling problem of traditional chemically cross-linked polyethylene. However, ureidopyrimidone (UPy), the most widely used H-bonding motif, is unfavorable for large-scale industrial application due to its poor thermal stability. In this work, H-bonds cross-linked polyethylene was successfully prepared by reactive melt blending maleic anhydride grafted polyethylene (PE-g-MAH) with 3-amino-1,2,4-triazole (ATA) to form amide triazole ring-carboxylic acid units. Triazole ring can easily generate multiple H-bonds with carboxylic acid and amide. More importantly, these units are more thermal stable than UPy due to the absence of unstable urea group of UPy. The introduction of H-bonds cross-linking leads to an obvious improvement in mechanical properties and creep resistance and a good maintain in thermal properties and recyclability. Furthermore, the reinforcement effect monotonically improves with increasing the density of H-bonds. The obtained good properties are mainly attributed to largely enhanced interchain interactions induced by H-bonds cross-linking and intrinsic reversibility of H-bonds. This work develops a novel way for the simple fabrication of H-bonds cross-linked PE with high performance through reactive melt blending.

VLP:A Survey on Vision-language Pre-training

In the past few years,the emergence of pre-training models has brought uni-modal fields such as computer vision(CV)and natural language processing(NLP)to a new era.Substantial works have shown that they are beneficial for downstream uni-modal tasks and avoid training a new model from scratch.So can such pre-trained models be applied to multi-modal tasks?Researchers have ex-plored this problem and made significant progress.This paper surveys recent advances and new frontiers in vision-language pre-training(VLP),including image-text and video-text pre-training.To give readers a better overall grasp of VLP,we first review its recent ad-vances in five aspects:feature extraction,model architecture,pre-training objectives,pre-training datasets,and downstream tasks.Then,we summarize the specific VLP models in detail.Finally,we discuss the new frontiers in VLP.To the best of our knowledge,this is the first survey focused on VLP.We hope that this survey can shed light on future research in the VLP field.

Development of a novel multi-functional integrated bioconjugate effectively targeting K-Ras mutant pancreatic cancer

Folate receptor(FR)overexpression occurs in a variety of cancers,including pancreatic cancer.In addition,enhanced macropinocytosis exists in K-Ras mutant pancreatic cancer.Furthermore,the occurrence of intensive desmoplasia causes a hypoxic microenvironment in pancreatic cancer.In this study,a novel FR-directed,macropinocytosis-enhanced,and highly cytotoxic bioconjugate folate(F)-human serum albumin(HSA)-apoprotein of lidamycin(LDP)-active enediyne(AE)derived from lidamycin was designed and prepared.F-HSA-LDP-AE consisted of four moieties:F,HSA,LDP,and AE.F-HSA-LDP presented high binding efficiency with the FR and pancreatic cancer cells.Its uptake in wild-type cells was more extensive than in K-Ras mutant-type cells.By in vivo optical imaging,F-HSA-LDP displayed prominent tumor-specific biodistribution in pancreatic cancer xenograft-bearing mice,showing clear and lasting tumor localization for 360 h.In the MTT assay,F-HSA-LDP-AE demonstrated potent cytotoxicity in three types of pancreatic cancer cell lines.It also induced apoptosis and caused G2/M cell cycle arrest.F-HSALDP-AE markedly suppressed the tumor growth of AsPc-1 pancreatic cancer xenografts in athymic mice.At well-tolerated doses of 0.5 and 1 mg/kg,(i.v.,twice),the inhibition rates were 91.2%and 94.8%,respectively(P<0.01).The results of this study indicate that the F-HSA-LDP multi-functional bioconjugate might be effective for treating K-Ras mutant pancreatic cancer.

Clinical value of precise rehabilitation nursing in management of cerebral infarction

BACKGROUND Cerebral infarction,previously referred to as cerebral infarction or ischemic stroke,refers to the localized brain tissue experiencing ischemic necrosis or softening due to disorders in brain blood supply,ischemia,and hypoxia.The precision rehabilitation nursing model for chronic disease management is a continuous,fixed,orderly,and efficient nursing model aimed at standardizing the clinical nursing process,reducing the wastage of medical resources,and improving the quality of medical services.AIM To analyze the value of a precise rehabilitation nursing model for chronic disease management in patients with cerebral infarction.METHODS Patients(n=124)admitted to our hospital with cerebral infarction between November 2019 and November 2021 were enrolled as the study subjects.The random number table method was used to divide them into a conventional nursing intervention group(n=61)and a model nursing intervention group(n=63).Changes in the nursing index for the two groups were compared after conventional nursing intervention and precise rehabilitation intervention nursing for chronic disease management.RESULTS Compared with the conventional intervention group,the model intervention group had a shorter time to clinical symptom relief(P<0.05),lower Hamilton Anxiety Scale and Hamilton Depression Scale scores,a lower incidence of total complications(P<0.05),a higher disease knowledge mastery rate,higher safety and quality,and a higher overall nursing satisfaction rate(P<0.05).CONCLUSION The precision rehabilitation nursing model for chronic disease management improves the clinical symptoms of patients with cerebral infarction,reducing the incidence of total complications and improving the clinical outcome of patients,and is worthy of application in clinical practice.

The effects of enteral nutrition in the bowel preparation in patients with diabetes mellitus

Objective:The objective of the study was to investigate the effect of enteral nutrients in diabetic patients with fibrocolonoscopy.Materials and Methods:A total of 58 diabetic patients undergoing fibrocolonoscopy from January 2017 to December 2017 were included as the traditional bowel preparation group.The patients took traditional semi‑flow diet and catharsis as intestinal preparation and were given health education.Sixty patients treated with fibrocolonoscopy from July to December in 2018 were included as the enteral nutrition group and received enteral nutrients and catharsis as intestinal preparation and were given modified health education.The incidence of hypoglycemia during intestinal preparation was compared between the two groups.Results:A total of 20(34.48%)patients in the traditional bowel preparation group had hypoglycemia(including asymptomatic hypoglycemia)during bowel preparation,with the total frequency of 40.The blood glucose level fluctuated between 1.7 and 3.9 mmol/L.Only five patients in the enteral nutrition group had hypoglycemia(including asymptomatic hypoglycemia)during bowel preparation.The incidence of hypoglycemia was lower in the enteral nutrition group than that in the traditional bowel preparation group(χ^2=4.937,P=0.026).Conclusion:The enteral nutrients as diet for fibrocolonoscopy bowel preparation and strengthening health education could reduce the incidence of hypoglycemia in patients with diabetes during bowel preparation and ensure patient safety.

Corrosion Resistance and Durability of Superhydrophobic Coating on AZ31 Mg Alloy via One-Step Electrodeposition

To enhance durability and adhesion of superhydrophobic surface,an integrated superhydrophobic calcium myristate(Ca[CH3(CH2)12COO]2)coating with excellent corrosion resistance was fabricated on AZ31 magnesium(Mg)alloy via one-step electrodeposition process.Field-emission scanning electron microscopy,Fourier transform infrared spectrometry and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy as well as X-ray diff raction were employed to investigate the surface characteristics(morphology,composition and structure)of the coatings.Hydrophobicity of the coating was evaluated by means of contact and sliding angles.Additionally,potentiodynamic polarization,electrochemical impedance spectroscopy and hydrogen evolution tests were conducted to characterize the corrosion resistance.Results indicated that the coating exhibited super-hydrophobicity with large static water contact angle(CA)and small sliding angle of 155.2°±1.5°and 6.0°±0.5°,respectively,owing to spherical rough structure and low surface energy(7.01 mJ m^(-2)).The average hydrogen evolution rate(HERa)and corrosion current density(icorr)of the coated sample were 5.3μL cm^(-2)h^(-1) and 5.60×10^(-9)A cm^(-2),about one and four orders of magnitude lower than that of AZ31 substrate,respectively,implying the excellent corrosion resistance.The CA of the coating remained 155.6°±0.9°after soaking for 13 days,showing the super-hydrophobicity and stability of the coating.Simultaneously,the large critical load(5004 mN)for the coating designated the outstanding adhesion to the substrate by nano-scratch test.
