The prognosis of aortic pseudoaneurysm is bad because it usually threats to life by *** surgical repair is usually associated with high morbidity and mortality, especially in patients with poor condition. Recent reports have shown promising results with endovascular treatment as a less invasive alternative to surgery. Fourteen patients with aortic pseudoaneurysms were treated by interventional procedure in our hospital.

Role of the Ca^2＋-Calcineurin-Nuclear Factor of Activated T cell Pathway in Mitofusin-2-Mediated Immune Function of Jurkat Cells

The core-disk phenomenon has been observed generally in the drilling process under high-stress *** paper presents the in-situ experimental study of the coring-disking failure mechanism of marble in an underground cavens with 2400 m *** on the disk samples in several boreholes with different diameters,both macro-and micro-morphological characteristics of core-disks’break surface were analysis,using 3D optical scanning and electron microscope ***,the numerical back analysis was also used to simulate the drilling process for demonstrating the development of core *** in-situ experiment results showed that the failure types of core disking consisted of tensile break and shear break,i.e.,the shear break usually appears in the edge part of break surface,and tensile break appears in the central ***’s more,the ration of core-disks thickness to borehole diameter is in a relatively stable *** back analysis indicated this micro asynchronous break of hard marble is induced by high geostress and unloading drill.

An efficient method for iron ore sintering with high-bed layer:double-layer sintering

Curcumin improves synaptic plasticity impairment induced by HIV-1gp120 V3 loop

Curcumin has been shown to significantly improve spatial memory impairment induced by HIV-1 gp 120 V3 in rats, but the electrophysiological mechanism remains unknown. Using extracellular microelectrode recording techniques, this study confirmed that the gp120 V3 loop could suppress long-term potentiation in the rat hippocampal CA1 region and synaptic plasticity, and that curcumin could antagonize these inhibitory effects. Using a Fura-2/AM calcium ion probe, we found that curcumin resisted the effects of the gp120 V3 loop on hippocampal synaptosomes and decreased Ca2＋ concentration in synaptosomes. This effect of curcumin was identical to nimodipine, suggesting that curcumin improved the inhibitory effects of gpl20 on synaptic plasticity, ameliorated damage caused to the central nervous system, and might be a potential neuroprotective drug.

Objective To study the optimal waist circumference （WC） cut-off values for identifying metabolic risk factors in middle-aged and elderly subjects in Shandong Province of China. Methods A total of 2 873 men and 5 559 women were included in this cross-sectional study. Metabolic syndrome （MetS） was diagnosed according to the definition of Chinese Diabetes Society in 2004. The relation between WC and MetS was analyzed by multivariate logistic regression analysis. The optimal WC cut-off values were identified using the area under the ROC curve and the different diagnostic criteria for central obesity were compared. Results The WC was the risk factor for MetS independent of BMI, blood glucose, blood lipid, and blood pressure. The optimal WC cut-off value was 83.8 cm and 91.1 cm for identifying MetS in women and men, respectively. Compared with 80 cm and 85 cm for women and men, 85 cm and 90 cm had a higher youden index for identifying all metabolic risk factors and MetS in women and men. Conclusion The appropriate WC cut-off value is 85 cm and 90 cm for identifying central obesity and MetS in women and men in Shandong Province of China.

Oxidation of n-Butanol and 2-Pentanol with Molecular Oxygen in Supercritical CO2

Oxidation of n-butanol and 2-pentanol using molecular oxygen in supercritical (SC) CO2 with and without co-solvent is investigated. The results showed that the reaction selectivity is high when the reaction is carried out in SC CO2. It has been observed that co-solvent affects conversion and selectivity of the reaction considerably.

Histopathological classification and location of consecutively operated meningiomas at a single institution in China from 2001 to 2010

Background Meningioma is one of the most common primary tumors of the central nervous system, but there are not many detailed studies on the sex, age, subtypes and locations of large series. This study was a retrospective analysis of the characteristics of meningioma cases consecutively operated on at a single institution in China from 2001 to 2010. Methods This study investigated the demographic background of 7084 meningioma cases, and the subtypes and locations of the tumors. Sex and age distributions were analyzed, and the pathological subtypes were classified according to the World Health Organization （WHO） classification. The location of the meningiomas was also categorized. Results The female：male ratio of the 7084 cases was 2.34：1. The mean age was 51.4 years （range, 11 months-86 years）. The mean age of cases of WHO grade I meningioma was significantly older than that of grade II or III meningiomas （P 〈0.001, Fisher＇s Least Significant Digit test）. There was a significantly higher female：male ratio in WHO grade I meningiomas than in grade II or grade III meningiomas （2.57, 1.03 and 0.76, respectively; P 〈0.001, X^2 test）. Meningothelial （n=2061） and fibrous meningiomas （n=3556） were the most common subtypes, comprising 79.3% of all meningiomas. All meningioma cases were classified into 23 locations in this study, with the cerebral convexity the most common site （38.33%, n=2722）. Cases with uncommon locations such as extra-cranial and sylvian fissure meningiomas were also present in this series. Conclusions Female predominance was found for benign meningiomas, while malignant subtypes showed male predominance. The mean age of patients with WHO grade Ⅰ meningiomas was older than that of patients with higher-grade tumors. Meningothelial and fibrous meningiomas were the most common subtypes. The cerebral convexity was the most common *** location.
