Single image super-resolution has attracted increasing attention and has a wide range of applications in satellite imaging, medical imaging, computer vision, security surveillance imaging, remote sensing, objection detection, and recognition. Recently, deep learning techniques have emerged and blossomed, producing " the state-of-the-art” in many domains. Due to their capability in feature extraction and mapping, it is very helpful to predict high-frequency details lost in low-resolution images. In this paper, we give an overview of recent advances in deep learning-based models and methods that have been applied to single image super-resolution tasks. We also summarize, compare and discuss various models from the past and present for comprehensive understanding and finally provide open problems and possible directions for future research.

Nitrogen interception in floodwater of rice field in Taihu region of China

A field experiment located in Taihu Lake Basin of China was conducted, by application of urea or a mixture of urea with manure, to elucidate the interception of nitrogen （N） export in a typical rice field through ＂zero-drainage water management＂ combined with sound irrigation, rainfall forecasting and field drying. N concentrations in floodwater rapidly declined before the first event of field drying after three split fertilizations, and subsequently tended to rearm to the background level. Before the first field drying, total particulate nitrogen （TPN） was the predominant N form in floodwater of plots with no N input, dissolved inorganic nitrogen （DIN） on plots that received urea only, and dissolved organic nitrogen （DON） on plots treated with the mixture of urea and manure. Thereafter TPN became the major form. No N export was found from the rice field, but total nitrogen （TN） of 15.8 kg/hm^2 was remained, mainly due to soil N sorption. The results recommended the zero-drainage water management for full-scale areas for minimizing N export.

The variation of microstucture and phase structure of metal Cr and Al powders prepared by high energy mechanical milling was analyzed and *** results show that with the continuous balling the average grain sizes of the brittle Cr powders are gradually decreased,and the diffraction peaks are widened and the peak values lower owing to the interrelation caused by both cold welding and breaking;the tough Al powders exhibit intense cold welding,and most of powders lead to adhesion to ball surface and pot wall,meanwhile,the Al powders subjected to intense deformation have led to many dislocation rings with non dislocation wind up found in the microstructure.

AIM: To investigate the role of cytokine gene expression inorgan damage at different tissue sites during ***: Male NIH mice were subjected to cecal ligationand puncture (CLP) or sham operetion ( Sham ). Pro-inflammatory cytokine (TNFα, IL-1β and IL-6) and anti-inflammatory cytokine (IL-4) gene expression in the liverand lung tissue were assessed by RT-PCR. The permeabilityof microvascular and water content in the lungs and liverwere also ***: Significant increase in TNFα, IL-1β and IL-6 geneexpression was observed at 3 and 12 h after CLP both in theliver and lungs ( P＜ 0.01). The level of IL-4 gene expressionwas not changed after CLP in the lungs, but increased at 12h after CLP ( P ＜ 0.01) in the liver tissue. Both the liver andlungs showed a significant increase in microcirculatorypermeability at 12 h after CLP (P＜ 0.01), and the increasein the lungs was higher than that in the liver. The watermaes fractions in the liver ( P＜ 0.05) and lungs ( P＜ 0.01)were increased after CLP, and the increase in the lungshappened earlier and more severely than that in the ***: The inflammatory response in the liver andlungs wes different during sepsis. At the early stage ofsepsis, pro-inflammatory reaction dominates both in theliver and lungs. But at the later stage of sepsis, induction ofcompensatory anti-inflammatory response was seen in theliver but not in the lungs. This difference in situ activity maycontribute to the different vulnerability of organ damageduring sepsis. The strategy of systemic administration ofanti-inflammatory drugs to sepsis should be reconsidered.

Multi-model ensemble learning for battery state-of-health estimation:Recent advances and perspectives

The burgeoning market for lithium-ion batteries has stimulated a growing need for more reliable battery performance monitoring. Accurate state-of-health(SOH) estimation is critical for ensuring battery operational performance. Despite numerous data-driven methods reported in existing research for battery SOH estimation, these methods often exhibit inconsistent performance across different application scenarios. To address this issue and overcome the performance limitations of individual data-driven models,integrating multiple models for SOH estimation has received considerable attention. Ensemble learning(EL) typically leverages the strengths of multiple base models to achieve more robust and accurate outputs. However, the lack of a clear review of current research hinders the further development of ensemble methods in SOH estimation. Therefore, this paper comprehensively reviews multi-model ensemble learning methods for battery SOH estimation. First, existing ensemble methods are systematically categorized into 6 classes based on their combination strategies. Different realizations and underlying connections are meticulously analyzed for each category of EL methods, highlighting distinctions, innovations, and typical applications. Subsequently, these ensemble methods are comprehensively compared in terms of base models, combination strategies, and publication trends. Evaluations across 6 dimensions underscore the outstanding performance of stacking-based ensemble methods. Following this, these ensemble methods are further inspected from the perspectives of weighted ensemble and diversity, aiming to inspire potential approaches for enhancing ensemble performance. Moreover, addressing challenges such as base model selection, measuring model robustness and uncertainty, and interpretability of ensemble models in practical applications is emphasized. Vortex transmutation utilizes a periodic system, which not only enables the alteration of the topological charge(TC) of unstable input vortices but also facilitates their transformation into stable structures. This approach is crucial for investigating the characteristics of vortices in various wave systems. Here, we achieve acoustic vortex TC transmutation by employing a welldesigned dual-structured plate external system(DPES). The interactions between the acoustic vortex and the finite-order discrete rotational symmetry lead to the transformation of its topological charge when complete rotational symmetry is broken to Nthorder discrete symmetry. Our results experimentally demonstrate the acoustic vortex TC transmutation based on passive artificial structures, enabling numerous applications in particle manipulation and information multiplexing as well as advancing our understanding and control over free-space acoustic vortices.

Demyelination and remyelination have been major focal points in the study of peripheral nerve regeneration following peripheral nerve ***,the gene regulatory network of regenerated myelin differs from that of native *** of enhancer of zeste homolog 2(EZH2)hinders the differentiation,maturation,and myelination of Schwann cells in *** further determine the role of EZH2 in myelination and recovery post-peripheral nerve injury,conditional knockout mice lacking Ezh2 in Schwann cells(Ezh2^(fl/fl);Dhh-Cre and Ezh2^(fl/fl);Mpz-Cre)were *** results show that a significant proportion of axons in the sciatic nerve of Ezh2-depleted mice remain *** highlights the crucial role of Ezh2 in initiating Schwann cell ***,we observed that 21 days after inducing a sciatic nerve crush injury in these mice,most axons had remyelinated at the injury site in the control nerve,while Ezh2^(fl/fl);Mpz-Cre mice had significantly fewer remyelinated axons compared with their wild-type *** suggests that the absence of Ezh2 in Schwann cells impairs myelin formation and *** conclusion,EZH2 has emerged as a pivotal regulatory factor in the process of demyelination and myelin regeneration following peripheral nerve *** EZH2 activity during these processes may offer a promising therapeutic target for the treatment of peripheral nerve injuries.
