Adaptive Optimal Output Regulation of Interconnected Singularly Perturbed Systems With Application to Power Systems

This article studies the adaptive optimal output regulation problem for a class of interconnected singularly perturbed systems(SPSs) with unknown dynamics based on reinforcement learning(RL).Taking into account the slow and fast characteristics among system states,the interconnected SPS is decomposed into the slow time-scale dynamics and the fast timescale dynamics through singular perturbation theory.For the fast time-scale dynamics with interconnections,we devise a decentralized optimal control strategy by selecting appropriate weight matrices in the cost function.For the slow time-scale dynamics with unknown system parameters,an off-policy RL algorithm with convergence guarantee is given to learn the optimal control strategy in terms of measurement data.By combining the slow and fast controllers,we establish the composite decentralized adaptive optimal output regulator,and rigorously analyze the stability and optimality of the closed-loop system.The proposed decomposition design not only bypasses the numerical stiffness but also alleviates the high-dimensionality.The efficacy of the proposed methodology is validated by a load-frequency control application of a two-area power system.

Optical networks are evolving toward ultrawide bandwidth and autonomous operation.In this scenario,it is crucial to accurately model and control optical power evolutions(OPEs)through optical amplifiers(OAs),as they directly affect the signal-to-noise ratio and fiber nonlinearities.However,a fundamental contradiction arises between the complex physical phenomena in optical transmission and the required precision in network control.Traditional theoretical methods underperform due to ideal assumptions,while data-driven approaches entail exorbitant costs associated with acquiring massive amounts of data to achieve the desired level of accuracy.In this work,we propose a Bayesian inference framework(BIF)to construct the digital twin of OAs and control OPE in a data-efficient manner.Only the informative data are collected to balance the exploration and exploitation of the data space,thus enabling efficient autonomous-driving optical networks(ADONs).Simulations and experiments demonstrate that the BIF can reduce the data size for modeling erbium-doped fiber amplifiers by 80%and Raman amplifiers by 60%.Within 30 iterations,the optimal controlling performance can be achieved to realize target signal/gain profiles in links with different types of OAs.The results show that the BIF paves the way to accurately model and control OPE for future ADONs.

Notoginseng Radix et Rhizoma(Sanqi in Chinese)is a precious traditional Chinese herbal medicine.It has the effect of dispersing blood stasis and stopping bleeding,reducing swelling and fixing pain.However,it tends to contaminate with harmful fungi during storage,which may make it much less effective.In order to understand the fungal contamination of Notoginseng Radix et Rhizoma and master its composition of the exogenous fungi.The surface fungi of Notoginseng Radix et Rhizoma samples collected from six Chinese provinces and districts were investigated by using dilution plate method.Detection of aflatoxins by UPLC-MS/MS.The results showed that Penicillium citrinum was dominantly isolated from Notoginseng Radix et Rhizoma samples from No.1 to No.4.Aspergillus flavus,which produces aflatoxin,was dominantly isolated from Notoginseng Radix et Rhizoma samples from No.5 and No.6.In addition,kinds of mycotoxin were assayed which were produced by three of those identified A.flavus.All three fungi strains produced aflatoxin B1(AFB1)and one strain HBSQ1-5 additionally produced other three kinds of mycotoxin,AFB2,AFG1 and AFG2.It is the results implied that it will be very important to take serious cautions when using Notoginseng Radix et Rhizoma.As well as,understanding the composition of the exogenous fungi of Notoginseng Radix et Rhizoma and the strains of toxin-producing fungi,which can play an important role in guiding the storage of Notoginseng Radix et Rhizoma.

Mechanism of action of cordycepin in the treatment of hepatocellular carcinoma via regulation of the Hippo signaling pathway

Hepatocellular carcinoma(HCC)is one of the common most malignant tumors.This study aimed to determine the in vitro and in vivo anticancer activity of cordycepin and elucidate its mechanism of action.The results of in vitro and in vivo studies revealed that cordycepin inhibited proliferation and migration in HepG-2 cells and inhibited the growth of HepG-2 xenograft-bearing nude mice by inducing apoptosis.Transcriptome sequencing analysis revealed a total of 403 differential genes,which revealed that cordycepin may play an anti-HCC role by regulating Hippo signaling pathway.The regulatory effects of cordycepin on the Hippo signaling pathway was further investigated using a YAP1 inhibitor.The results demonstrated that cordycepin upregulated the expression of MST1 and LAST1,and subsequently inhibited YAP1,which activated the Hippo signaling pathway.This in turn downregulated the expression of GBP3 and ETV5,and subsequently inhibited cell proliferation and migration.Additionally,YAP1 regulated the expression of Bax and Bcl-2,regulated the mitochondrial apoptotic pathway,and induced apoptosis by upregulating the expression of the caspase-3 protein.In summary,this study reveals that cordycepin exerts its anti-hepatocarcinoma effect through regulating Hippo signaling pathway,and GBP3 and ETV5 may be potential therapeutic targets for hepatocarcinoma.

Evidence available on the independent and combined associations of sleep duration,bedtime,and genetic predisposition with hearing loss was lacking.The present study included 15,827 participants from the Dongfeng–Tongji cohort study.Genetic risk was characterized by polygenic risk score(PRS)based on 37 genetic loci related to hearing loss.We conducted multivariate logistic regression models to assess the odds ratio(OR)for hearing loss with sleep duration and bedtime,as well as the joint association and interaction with PRS.Results showed that hearing loss was independently associated with sleeping≥9 h/night compared to the recommended 7 to9:00 p.***.to 10:00 p.***.compared to those with bedtime>10:00 p.***.to 11:00 p.m.,with estimated ORs of 1.25,1.27,and 1.16,respectively.

Phase change materials(PCMs) are a kind of highly efficient thermal storage materials which have a bright application prospect in many fields such as energy conservation in buildings,waste heat recovery,battery thermal management and so on.Especially inorganic hydrated salt PCMs have received increasing attention from researchers due to their advantages of being inexpensive and non-flammable.However,inorganic hydrated salt PCMs are still limited by the aspects of inappropriate phase change temperature,liquid phase leakage,large supercooling and severe phase separation in the application process.In this work,sodium acetate trihydrate was selected as the basic inorganic PCM,and a novel shape-stabilized composite phase change material(CPCM) with good thermal properties was prepared by adding various functional additives.At first,the sodium acetate trihydrate-acetamide binary mixture was prepared and the melting point was adjusted using acetamide.Then the binary mixture was incorporated into expanded graphite to synthesize a novel shape-stabilized CPCM.The thermophysical properties of the resultant shape-stabilized CPCM were systematically investigated.The microscopic morphology and chemical structure of the obtained shape-stabilized CPCM were characterized and analyzed.The experiment results pointed out that acetamide could effectively lower the melting point of sodium acetate trihydrate.The obtained shape-stabilized CPCM modified with additional 18%(mass fraction) acetamide and 12%(mass fraction) expanded graphite exhibited good shape stability and thermophysical characteristics:a low supercooling degree of 1.75℃ and an appropriate melting temperature of 40.77℃ were obtained;the latent heat of 151.64 kJ/kg and thermal conductivity of 1.411 W/(m·K) were also satisfactory.Moreover,after 50accelerated melting-freezing cycles,the obtained shape-stabilized CPCM represented good thermal reliability.

The volute tongue can split the gas in the multi-blade centrifugal fan to make the gas flow to the volute outlet as much as possible.However,the unsteady axial deflection of the gas in the impeller results in different air flow angles at the outlet of the impeller at different blade heights.This seriously affects the flow near the volute tongue.The wave leading-edge structure of humpback whale flippers has a very high flow control effect under complex flow conditions.Therefore,the wave leading-edge structure is studied in this paper and applied to the optimization design of multi-blade centrifugal fan volute tongue.First,based on the wave leading-edge structure of humpback whale flippers,three-dimensional wave leading-edge airfoils with different wave direction angles are established to judge the adaptability of the new wave leading-edge structure under different attack angles.Then,aiming at the internal flow field and noise characteristics of multi-blade centrifugal fan,a bionic volute tongue optimization design method is proposed,and studied its influence on the internal flow field and noise characteristics of the fan.The results show that when the wave direction angle is 45°,the wave leading-edge structure can effectively suppress the generation of the leading-edge separation vortex and the shedding of the wake vortex,which is also helpful to reduce the noise.The bionic volute tongue with the wave leading-edge structure can adapt to the situation that the impeller outlet air flow angle is small.At the maximum volume flow rate operating point,the static pressure recovery coefficient of the bionic volute tongue fan is increased by about 5%compared to the original fan,the air volume is increased by 5.16%,and the noise is reduced by 0.6 dB.

Increasing the application of renewable energy in the power system is an effective way to achieve the goal of‘Dual Carbon’.At the same time,the high proportion of renewable energy connected to the grid endangers the safe operation of the power system.To solve this problem,this paper proposes the application of a copula function to describe the correlation between wind power and photovoltaic power,and reduce the uncertainty of power-system operation with a high proportion of renewable energy.In order to increase the robustness of the model,this paper proposes the application of the conditional value-at-risk theory to construct the objective function of the model and effectively control the tail risk of power-system operation costs.Through case analysis,it is found that the model proposed in this paper has strong practicality and economy.
