On microbial community of Pyropia haitanensis by metagenomic analysis

Microorganisms plays an important role in the growth of Pyropia *** understand the structural and functional diversity of the microorganism community of ***(PH40),the associated metabolic pathway network in cluster of orthologous groups(COG)and Kyoto Encyclopedia of Genes and Genomes(KEGG),and carbohydrate-active enzymes(CAZymes)were explored in metagenomic *** extraction from gametophytes of *** was performed first,followed by library construction,sequencing,preprocessing of sequencing data,taxonomy assignment,gene prediction,and functional *** results show that the predominant microorganisms of *** were bacteria(98.98%),and the phylum with the highest abundance was Proteobacteria(54.64%),followed by Bacteroidetes(37.92%).Erythrobacter(3.98%)and Hyunsoonleella jejuensis(1.56%)were the genera and species with the highest abundance of bacteria,*** COG annotation demonstrated that genes associated with microbial metabolism was the predominant *** results of metabolic pathway annotation show that the ABC transport system and two-component system were the main pathways in the microbial *** growth hormone biosynthesis pathway and multi-vitamin biosynthesis functional units(modules)were the other important *** CAZyme annotation revealed that the starch might be an important carbon source for *** transferase family 2(GT2)and glycosyl transferase family 3(GT3)were the highly abundant families in glucoside transferase *** metagenome-assembled genomes containing enzymes involved in the biosynthesis of cobalamin(vitamin B 12)and indole-3-acetic acid were obtained by binning *** were confirmed to belong to Rhodobacterales and Rhizobiales,*** findings provide comprehensive insights into the microorganism community of Pyropia.

Wnt/Wingless (Wg) signaling has evolutionarily conserved fundamental roles in the regulation of cell cycle, embryonic development, cell fate determination, morphological patterning and tissue homeostasis (Clevers, 2006). Dysregulation of the Wnt/Wg pathway leads to a variety of diseases such as birth defects, metabolism disorders and cancers (Nusse and Clevers, 2017). The activation of Wnt/Wg signaling requires the interaction between β- catenin/Armadillo (Arm) and the transcription factor LEF/TCFs/ Pangolin (Pan), and the recruitment of their co-factors (Zhai et al., 2017).

Preliminary single-arm study of brain effects during transcutaneous auricular vagus nerve stimulation treatment of recurrent depression by resting-state functional magnetic resonance imaging

Discrepancy in photosynthetic responses of the red alga Pyropia yezoensis to dehydration stresses under exposure to desiccation,high salinity,and high mannitol concentration

Macroalgae that inhabit intertidal zones are exposed to the air for several hours during low tide and must endure desiccation and high variations in temperature, light intensity, and salinity. Pyropia yezoensis (Rhodophyta, Bangiales), a typical intertidal red macroalga that is commercially cultivated in the northwestern Pacific Ocean, was investigated under different dehydration stresses of desiccation, high salinity, and high mannitol concentration. Using chlorophyll fluorescence imaging, photosynthetic activities of P. yezoensis thalli were analyzed using six parameters derived from quenching curves and rapid light curves. A distinct discrepancy was revealed in photosynthetic responses to different dehydration stresses. Dehydration caused by exposure to air resulted in rapid decreases in photosynthetic activities, which were always lower than two other stresses at the same water loss (WL) level. High salinity only reduced photosynthesis significantly at its maximum WL of 40% but maintained a relatively stable maximum quantum yield of photosystem II (PSII) (Fv/Fm). High mannitol concentration induced maximum WL of 20% for a longer time (60 min) than the other two treatments and caused no adverse influences on the six parameters at different WL except for a significant decrease in non-photochemical quenching (NPQ) at 20% WL. Illustrated by chlorophyll fluorescence images, severe spatial heterogeneities were induced by desiccation with lower values in the upper parts than the middle or basal parts of the thalli. The NPQ and rETRmax (maximum relative electron transport rate) demonstrated clear distinctions for evaluating photosynthetic responses, indicating their sensitivity and applicability. The findings of this study indicated that the natural dehydration of exposure to air results in stronger and more heterogeneous effects than those of high salinity or high mannitol concentration.

Does Parental Migration Affect Left-Behind Children’s Social Anxiety?A Systematic Review and Meta-Analysis

Social anxiety is a common psychological problem among left-behind children(LBC)and has been a popular issue in recent *** with higher levels of social anxiety have more emotional and behavioral problems and are prone to negative life *** several studies have explored the differences in social anxiety between LBC and non-left-behind children(N-LBC),the findings have not been *** this study,a systematic review and meta-analysis method was used,with 411 papers retrieved on October 01,2023,from Pubmed,Embase,Web of Science,and Chinese databases(CNKI,VIP,and Wanfang)(PROSPERO registry number:CRD42023472463).Twenty-one studies met the research criteria and included 11,254 LBC and 13,096 *** scored significantly higher for social anxiety([WMD(95%CI):0.35[0.23,0.48],p<0.001])and social avoidance and distress([WMD(95%CI):0.35[0.23,0.48],p<0.001]).Subgroup analyses showed significant differences in effect sizes for the overall proportion of children left behind(p=0.02).In addition,different types of parental migration may influence the social anxiety of LBC,double-parent migration was associated higher social anxiety than father migration(p<0.001).Future research should focus on treatments to decrease social anxiety of left-behind *** findings suggest that due to the long-term absence of parental migration,LBC are more vulnerable to negative emotional experiences and behaviours such as anxiety,distress,and avoidance during social interaction,especially for those with both parents absent from the *** research should focus on treatments to reduce social anxiety in LBC.

GS6, A Member of the GRAS Gene Family,Negatively Regulates Grain Size in Rice

Grain size is an important yield-related trait in rice. Intensive artificial selection for grain size during domestication is evidenced by the larger grains of most of today＇s cultivars compared with their wild relatives. However, the molecular genetic control of rice grain size is still not well characterized. Here, we report the identification and cloning of Grain Size 6 （GS6）, which plays an important role in reducing grain size in rice. A premature stop at the ＋348 position in the coding sequence （CDS） of GS6 increased grain width and weight significantly. Alignment of the CDS regions of GS6 in 90 rice materials revealed three GS6 alleles. Most japonica varieties （95%） harbor the Type I haplotype, and 62.9% of indica varieties harbor the Type II haplotype. Association analysis revealed that the Type I haplotype tends to increase the width and weight of grains more than either of the Type II or Type III haplotypes. Further investigation of genetic diversity and the evolutionary mechanisms of GS6 showed that the GS6 gene was strongly selected in japonica cultivars. In addition, a ＂ggc＂ repeat region identified in the region that encodes the GRAS domain of GS6 played an important historic role in the domestication of grain size in rice. Knowledge of the function of GS6 might aid efforts to elucidate the molecular mechanisms that control grain development and evolution in rice plants, and could facilitate the genetic improvement of rice yield.

Combinatorial analysis of transcription and metabolism reveals the regulatory network associated with antioxidant substances in waxy corn

Maize is an essential source of nutrition for humans and animals and is rich in various metabolites that determine its *** maize varieties show significant differences in metabolite *** kinds of waxy maize parental materials,S181 and 49B,created by the Chongqing Academy of Agricultural Sciences,are widely grown in China.S181 shows higher starch and sugar contents than *** study generated metabolic profiles to assess the differences between the two varieties.A total of 674 metabolites that were significantly differentially expressed between the two varieties were identified by gas chromatography and untargeted metabolomics *** metabolites were associated with 21 categories,including antioxidant ***,6415 differentially expressed genes(DEGs)were identified by ***,these DEGs comprised starch and sugar synthesis pathway genes and 72 different transcription factor *** these,six families that were reported to play an essential role in plant antioxidant action accounted for 39.2%of the transcription factor *** the Kyoto Encyclopedia of Genes and Genomes(KEGG)classification,the DEGs were mainly involved in amino acid biosynthesis,glycolysis/glucose metabolism,and the synthetic and metabolic pathways of antioxidant active ***,the correlation analysis of transcriptome and metabolomics identified five key transcription factors(ZmbHLH172,ZmNAC44,ZmNAC-like18,ZmS1FA2,ZmERF172),one ubiquitin ligase gene(ZmE25A)and one sucrose synthase gene(ZmSS1).They likely contribute to the quality traits of waxy corn through involvement in the metabolic regulatory network of antioxidant ***,our results provide new insights into maize quality-related antioxidant metabolite networks and have potential applications for waxy corn breeding.

[目的]探究互联网平台对提高骨折病人自我管理能力的影响。[方法]选取2017年1月-2017年12月在南京鼓楼医院创伤骨科住院的骨折病人150例,采用抽取信封法随机分为观察组和对照组,各75例。对照组按常规指导病人进行自我管理,观察组在对照组基础上运用智能手机下载相关APP,并完成注册,通过手机进行相关内容的再学习。比较两组护理满意度、住院时间、并发症发生率及护理前后自我效能变化。[结果]观察组护理满意度高于对照组,住院时间短于对照组,并发症发生率低于对照组,两组比较差异均有统计学意义(P<0.05);观察组术后6周、12周自我效能得分均高于对照组(P<0.05)。[结论]将互联网平台应用于骨折病人自我管理中可有效提高其护理满意度及自我效能,缩短住院时间,降低并发症发生率。

Effects of three needling manipulations of the right-side Zusanli(ST 36) on brain using functional magnetic resonance imaging

OBJECTIVE: To investigate the effects on the brain using three needling manipulations(twirling, lifting-thrusting, and twirling plus lifting-thrusting)when the right-side Zusanli(ST 36) acupoint was stimulated with ***: Seventeen healthy subjects accepted three needling manipulations stimulating the right Zusanli(ST 36) over separate days. Functional magnetic resonance imaging was used to detect changes in the brain during the manipulations, and then the needling sensations were recorded using the MGH acupuncture sensation scale(MASS) after each scan. f MRI data were processed using Statistical Parametric Mapping 8 to analyze the positiveand negative activation in the brain induced by different acupuncture ***: The individual needling sensations showed no statistically significant differences among the three manipulations.
