High-entropy diboride has been arousing considerable interest in recent years.However,the low toughness and damage tolerance limit its applications as ultra-high-temperature structural materials.Here we report that a unique SiB_(6) additive has been first incorporated as boron and silicon sources to fabricate a high-entropy boride(Ti_(0.2)Zr_(0.2)Hf_(0.2)Nb_(0.2)Ta_(0.2))B_(2)–SiC composite though one-step boro/carbothermal reduction reactive sintering.A synergetic effect of high-entropy sluggish diffusion and SiC secondary phase retarded the grain growth of the(Ti_(0.2)Zr_(0.2)Hf_(0.2)Nb_(0.2)Ta_(0.2))B_(2)–51SiC composites.The small grain size was beneficial to shorten the diffusion path for mass transport,thereby enhancing the relative density to~99.3%.These results in an increase of fracture toughness from~5.2 in HEBS-1900 to~7.7 MPa·m^(1/2) in HEBS-2000,which corresponded to a large improvement of 48%.The improvement was attributed to a mixed mode of intergranular and transgranular cracking for offering effective pinning in crack propagation,resulting from balanced grain boundary strength collectively affected by improved densification,solid solution strengthening,and incorporation of SiC secondary phase.

Effect of Direct Aging on Corrosion Behavior of AlSi10Mg Alloy Fabricated by Laser Powder Bed Fusion

Effect of direct aging of 170℃on corrosion behavior of laser powder bed fused AlSi10Mg(LPBF-AlSi10Mg)was studied by microstructure analysis,electrochemical analysis and X-ray photoelectron spectrometer.The results show that direct aging of 170℃has little effect on melt pool and Si cellular structure,but promotes the precipitation of nano-Si particles and releases the residual stress.With increasing aging time from 0 to 4 h to 24 h,the corrosion property of the LPBF-AlSi10Mg is deteriorated,which is evidenced by increased corrosion current density and decreased pitting potential and polarization resistance.With increasing the aging time,the thickness of the oxide film formed on surface of the LPBF-AlSi10Mg increases.The Si content of the oxide film of the sample aging for 4 h is the lowest,9.42 at.%,and it is the highest,18.62 at.%,for the sample aging for 24 h.The electrochemical noise analysis reveals that the middle-frequency contribution of the Hilbert spectrum is responsible for the deteriorated corrosion performance,which corresponds to metastable pitting initiated by nano-Si particles.

Limits of Uneven Battery Power in Modular Multilevel Converter-based Battery Energy Storage Systems

For modular multilevel converter-based battery energy storage systems (MMC-BESS), uneven power among batteries of SMs will be deduced by battery aging, battery fault, etc., which will degrade performance and even lead to system failure. For maintaining the balance of capacitor voltage, this paper analyzes the limits of the uneven power of batteries, which are presented as the current limits in this paper. According to analysis, an analytical method is proposed that only the dc and fundamental frequency components of the arm current are used to calculate current limits. With the current limits it is able to evaluate the reasonability of power distribution among batteries. Meanwhile, increase of fundamental frequency component will enhance the current limits, and the dc component determines the size relationship between the absolute values of the upper and lower current limits. Finally, simulation model and experiment prototype are built for verifying the theoretical analysis and current limits calculation method, and satisfactory results are provided.

Bridging molecular photosensitizer and catalyst on carbon nanotubes toward enhanced selectivity and durability for CO_(2)photoreduction

Homogenous molecular photocatalysts for CO_(2)reduction,especially metal complex-based photosensitizer-catalyst assemblages,have been attracting extensive research interests due to their efficiency and customizability.However,their low durability and recyclability limit practical applications.In this work,we immobilized the catalysts of metal terpyridyl complexes and the photosensitizer of[Ru(bpy)3]Cl2onto the surface of carbon nanotubes through covalent bonds and electrostatic interactions,respectively,transforming the homogeneous system into a heterogeneous one.Our characterizations prove that these metal complexes are well dispersed on CNTs with a high loading(ca.12 wt.%).Photocatalytic measurements reveal that catalytic activity is remarkably enhanced when the molecular catalysts are anchored,which is three times higher than that of homogeneous molecular catalysts.Moreover,when the photosensitizer of[Ru(bpy)3]Cl2is immobilized,the side reaction of hydrogen evolution is completely suppressed and the selectivity for CO production reaches 100%,with its durability also significantly improved.This work provides an effective pathway for constructing heterogeneous photocatalysts based on rational assembly of efficient molecular photosensitizers and catalysts.

FPSblo:A Blockchain Network Transmission Model Utilizing Farthest Point Sampling

Peer-to-peer(P2P)overlay networks provide message transmission capabilities for blockchain systems.Improving data transmission efficiency in P2P networks can greatly enhance the performance of blockchain systems.However,traditional blockchain P2P networks face a common challenge where there is often a mismatch between the upper-layer traffic requirements and the underlying physical network topology.This mismatch results in redundant data transmission and inefficient routing,severely constraining the scalability of blockchain systems.To address these pressing issues,we propose FPSblo,an efficient transmission method for blockchain networks.Our inspiration for FPSblo stems from the Farthest Point Sampling(FPS)algorithm,a well-established technique widely utilized in point cloud image processing.In this work,we analogize blockchain nodes to points in a point cloud image and select a representative set of nodes to prioritize message forwarding so that messages reach the network edge quickly and are evenly distributed.Moreover,we compare our model with the Kadcast transmission model,which is a classic improvement model for blockchain P2P transmission networks,the experimental findings show that the FPSblo model reduces 34.8%of transmission redundancy and reduces the overload rate by 37.6%.By conducting experimental analysis,the FPS-BT model enhances the transmission capabilities of the P2P network in blockchain.

Premature failure induced by non-equilibrium grain-boundary tantalum segregation in air-plasma sprayed ZrO_(2)-YO_(1.5)-TaO_(2.5)thermal barrier coatings

ZrO_(2)-YO_(1.5)-TaO_(2.5)(ZYTO)is a promising top-coat material for thermal barrier coatings(TBCs).The bulk properties of ZYTO have been reported by several studies,but its performances as TBCs are less-well understood.In this work,ZYTO TBCs were prepared by air plasma spraying(APS)and their thermal cycling performances were investigated at 1150℃.Despite of the good bulk properties,APS ZYTO TBCs present an extremely short thermal fatigue life.This is attributed to the non-equilibrium grain-boundary segregation of TaO_(2.5) induced by limited solubility and rapid quenching during APS process,resulting in a tetragonal(t)to cubic(c)and metastable-tetragonal(tm)phase transformation in ZYTO TBCs.The volume shrinkage(~0.74vol%)of phase transformation leads to many cracks at the c/tm phase boundaries after deposition.On the other hand,the formation of cubic phase with massive grain-boundary Ta segregation induces a large intergranular embrittlement and a weak bonding strength(~5.3 MPa),resulting in the premature failure of the ZYTO TBCs.

Comparison of clinical features and outcomes of proliferative,fibrotic,and mixed subtypes of IgG4-related disease:A retrospective cohort study

Background:Immunoglobulin G4-related disease(IgG4-RD)is a recently recognized immune-mediated disorder that can affect almost any organ in the human body.IgG4-RD can be categorized into proliferative and fibrotic subtypes based on patients’clinicopathological characteristics.This study aimed to compare the clinical manifestations,laboratory findings,and treatment outcomes of IgG4-RD among different subtypes.Methods:We prospectively enrolled 622 patients with newly diagnosed IgG4-RD at Peking Union Medical College Hospital from March 2011 to August 2021.The patients were divided into three groups according to their clinicopathological characteristics:proliferative,fibrotic,and mixed subtypes.We compared demographic features,clinical manifestations,organ involvement,laboratory tests,and treatment agents across three subtypes.We then assessed the differences in treatment outcomes among 448 patients receiving glucocorticoids alone or in combination with immunosuppressants.Moreover,risk factors of relapse were revealed by applying the univariate and multivariate Cox regression analysis.Results:We classified the 622 patients into three groups consisting of 470 proliferative patients,55 fibrotic patients,and 97 mixed patients,respectively.We found that gender distribution,age,disease duration,and frequency of allergy history were significantly different among subgroups.In terms of organ involvement,submandibular and lacrimal glands were frequently involved in the proliferative subtype,while retroperitoneum was the most commonly involved site in both fibrotic subtype and mixed subtype.The comparison of laboratory tests revealed that eosinophils(P=0.010),total IgE(P=0.006),high-sensitivity C-reactive protein(P<0.001),erythrocyte sedimentation rate(P<0.001),complement C4(P<0.001),IgG(P=0.001),IgG1(P<0.001),IgG4(P<0.001),and IgA(P<0.001),at baseline were significantly different among three subtypes.Compared with proliferative and mixed subtypes,the fibrotic subtype showed the lowest rate of relapse(log-rank P=0.014).Conclus

The scarcity,high cost and susceptibility to CO of Platinum severely restrict its application in alkaline hydrogen oxidation reaction(HOR).Hybridizing Pt with other transition metals provides an effective strategy to modulate its catalytic HOR performance,but at the cost of mass activity due to the coverage of modifiers on Pt surface.Herein,we constructed dual junctions'Pt/nitrogen-doped carbon(Pt/NC)andδ-MoC/NC to modify electronic structure of Pt via interfacial electron transfer to acquire Pt-MoC@NC catalyst with electron-deficient Pt nanoparticles,simultaneously endowing it with high mass activity and durability of alkaline HOR.Moreover,the unique structure of Pt-MoC@NC endows Pt with a high COtolerance at 1,000 ppm CO/H_(2),a quality that commercial Pt-C catalyst lacks.The theoretical calculations not only confirm the diffusion of electrons from Pt/NC to Mo C/NC could occur,but also demonstrate the negative shift of Pt d-band center for the optimized binding energies of*H,*OH and CO.

m^(6)A methylation is the most frequent modification of mRNA in eukaryotes and plays a crucial role in cancer progression by regulating biological functions.Insulin-like growth factor 2 mRNA-binding proteins(IGF2BP)are newly identified m^(6)A‘readers’.They belong to a family of RNA-binding proteins,which bind to the m^(6)A sites on different RNA sequences and stabilize them to promote cancer progression.In this review,we summarize the mechanisms by which different upstream factors regulate IGF2BP in cancer.The current literature analyzed here reveals that the IGF2BP family proteins promote cancer cell proliferation,survival,and chemoresistance,inhibit apoptosis,and are also associated with cancer glycolysis,angiogenesis,and the immune response in the tumor microenvironment.Therefore,with the discovery of their role as‘readers’of m^(6)A and the characteristic re-expression of IGF2BPs in cancers,it is important to elucidate their mechanism of action in the immunosuppressive tumor microenvironment.We also describe in detail the regulatory and interaction network of the IGF2BP family in downstream target RNAs and discuss their potential clinical applications as diagnostic and prognostic markers,as well as recent advances in IGF2BP biology and associated therapeutic value.

ZrB2-SiC spiral fibers prepared by combining liquid rope effect with non-solvent-induced phase separation method:A promising toughening material for ultra-high temperature ceramics

Spiral fibers were considered to be an ideal toughening phase of ultra-high torsional release effect.In this work,ZrB_(2)(Z)-20 vol%SiC(S)spiral fiber(ZS_(sf))with controllable structure was prepared by a combination approach of liquid rope effect and non-solvent-induced phase separation.Dominantly depended on the kinematic viscosity(η),dropping height(H),and flow rate(Q),the geometric parameters of ZS_(sf) involving filament diameter(d)and coil diameter(D)were followed the relationship of d≈0.516×10^(-3) Q^(1/2)H^(−1/4) and D≈0.25×10^(-3)(Q/H)^(1/3),respectively,within the optimizedηof 10-15 Pa·s.Three different microstructures of ZS_(sf) were achieved by adjusting the polymer/solvent/non-solvent system assisted with phase diagram calculation,including dense,hollow,and hierarchical pore structures.The ZrB_(2)-SiC with 1 wt%ZS_(sf) composites prepared by hot isostatic pressing(HIP)exhibited a~30%increase in fracture toughness(KIC,4.41 MPa·m^(1/2))compared with the ZrB_(2)-SiC composite,where the microscopic fracture toughness of the ZS_(sf) was~80%higher than that of the matrix.The fibers with a~10 nm in-situ-synthesized graphite phase amongst grain boundaries of ZrB_(2) and SiC changed the fracture mode,and promoted the crack deflection and pull-out adjacent the interface of matrix and the fiber.
