Treg Immunomodulation Contributes to the Anti-atherosclerotic Effects of Huxin Formula in ApoE^(-/-)Mice

Objective:To explore the effects of Huxin formula(HXF)in curtailing atherosclerosis and its underlying ***:According to random number table method,24 specific pathogen free male ApoE^(-/-)mice were randomly divided into model group,HXF low-dose(HXF-L)group(8.4 g/kg daily),HXF high-dose(HXF-H)group(16.8 g/kg daily),and pravastatin(8 mg/kg daily)group in ExperimentⅠ(n=6 per group).C57BL/6J mice served as the control group(n=6).ApoE^(-/-)mice in HXF-L,HXF-H,pravastatin groups were fed a Western diet and administered continuously by gavage for 12 weeks,while C57BL/6J mice in the control group were fed conventional lab mouse chow for 12 ***,Tregs were depleted by weekly intraperitoneal injection of purified anti-mouse CD25 antibody(PC61,250μg per mouse)for 4 weeks in ExperimentⅡ(n=6 per group).Oil Red O and Masson staining were used to evaluate the plaque area and aortic root *** CD4^(+)CD25^(+)Foxp3^(+)Treg counts in the lymph nodes and spleen cells were detected using flow cytometric *** transforming growth factor-β1(TGF-β1),interleukin(IL)-10,and IL-6 serum levels were examined by MILLIPLEX?MAP *** real-time reverse transcription PCR(qRT-PCR)and Western blot were utilized to assess the expression of TGF-βmRNA and protein in the *** expression of CD4^(+)T lymphocytes,macrophages and smooth muscle cells in the aortic root were detected by immunofluorescence ***:HXF reduced plaque area in ApoE^(-/-)mice(P0.05).Also,HXF upregulated the expression of TGF-βmRNA and protein in the aorta(P<0.05).Additionally,HXF attenuated CD4^(+)T lymphocytes,macrophages and smooth muscle cells in aortic root plaque(P<0.01).Furthermore,the depletion of Tregs with CD25

Micro segment analysis of supercritical methane thermal-hydraulic performance and pseudo-boiling in a PCHE straight channel

The printed circuit heat exchanger(PCHE) is receiving wide attention as a new kind of compact heat exchanger and is considered as a promising vaporizer in the LNG process. In this paper, a PCHE straight channel in the length of 500 mm is established, with a semicircular cross section in a diameter of 1.2 *** simulation is employed to investigate the flow and heat transfer performance of supercritical methane in the channel. The pseudo-boiling theory is adopted and the liquid-like, two-phase-like, and vapor-like regimes are divided for supercritical methane to analyze the heat transfer and flow *** results are presented in micro segment to show the local convective heat transfer coefficient and pressure drop. It shows that the convective heat transfer coefficient in segments along the channel has a significant peak feature near the pseudo-critical point and a heat transfer deterioration when the average fluid temperature in the segment is higher than the pseudo-critical point. The reason is explained with the generation of vapor-like film near the channel wall that the peak feature related to a nucleateboiling-like state and heat transfer deterioration related to a film-boiling-like state. The effects of parameters, including mass flow rate, pressure, and wall heat flux on flow and heat transfer were *** calculating of the averaged heat transfer coefficient of the whole channel, the traditional method shows significant deviation and the micro segment weighted average method is adopted. The pressure drop can mainly be affected by the mass flux and pressure and little affected by the wall heat flux. The peak of the convective heat transfer coefficient can only form at high mass flux, low wall heat flux, and near critical pressure, in which condition the nucleate-boiling-like state is easier to appear. Weakly-supervised instance co-segmentation via tensor-based salient co-peak search

Instance co-segmentation aims to segment the co-occurrent instances among two *** task heavily relies on instance-related cues provided by co-peaks,which are generally estimated by exhaustively exploiting all paired candidates in point-to-point ***,such patterns could yield a high number of false-positive co-peaks,resulting in over-segmentation whenever there are mutual *** tackle with this issue,this paper proposes an instance co-segmentation method via tensor-based salient co-peak search(TSCPS-ICS).The proposed method explores high-order correlations via triple-to-triple matching among feature maps to find reliable co-peaks with the help of co-saliency *** proposed method is shown to capture more accurate intra-peaks and inter-peaks among feature maps,reducing the false-positive rate of co-peak *** having accurate co-peaks,one can efficiently infer responses of the targeted *** on four benchmark datasets validate the superior performance of the proposed method.

Clinical value of oral contrast-enhanced ultrasonography in diagnosis of gastric tumors

BACKGROUND The incidence of gastric cancer remains high,and it is the sixth most common cancer and the fourth leading cause of cancer deaths *** contrastenhanced ultrasonography is a simple,non-invasive,and painless method for the diagnosis of gastric *** To explore the diagnostic value of oral contrast-enhanced ultrasonography for the detection of gastric *** The screening results based on oral contrast-enhanced ultrasonography and electronic gastroscopy were compared with those of the postoperative pathological *** Among 42 patients with gastric tumors enrolled in the study,the diagnostic accordance rate was 95.2%for oral contrast-enhanced ultrasonography(n=40)and 90.5%for electronic gastroscopy(n=38)compared with postoperative pathological *** Kappa value of consistency test with pathological findings was 0.812 for oral contrast-enhanced ultrasonography and 0.718 for electronic gastroscopy,and there was no significant difference between them(P=0.397).For the TNM staging of gastric tumors,the accuracy rate of oral contrast enhanced ultrasonography was 81.9%for the overall T staging and 50%,77.8%,100%,and 100%for T1,T2,T3,and T4 staging,*** sensitivity and specificity were both 100%for stages T3 and *** diagnostic accuracy rate of oral contrast-enhanced ultrasonography was 93.8%,80%,100%,and 100%for stages N0,N1-N3,M0,and M1,*** The accordance rate of qualitative diagnosis by oral contrast-enhanced ultrasonography is comparable to that of gastroscopy,and it could be used as the preferred method for the early screening of gastric tumors.

Different lymph node staging systems for predicting the prognosis of colorectal neuroendocrine neoplasms

BACKGROUND Colorectal neuroendocrine neoplasms(NENs)are a rare malignancy that primarily arises from the diffuse distribution of neuroendocrine cells in the colon and *** studies have pointed out that the status of lymph node may be used to predict the *** To investigate the predictive values of lymph node ratio(LNR),positive lymph node(PLN),and log odds of PLNs(LODDS)staging systems on the prognosis of colorectal NENs treated surgically,and compare their predictive *** This cohort study included 895 patients with colorectal NENs treated surgically from the Surveillance,Epidemiology,and End Results *** endpoint was mortality of patients with colorectal NENs treated surgically.X-tile software was utilized to identify most suitable thresholds for categorizing the LNR,PLN,and *** were selected in a random manner to form training and testing *** prognosis of surgically treating colorectal NENs was examined using multivariate cox analysis to assess the associations of LNR,PLN,and LODDS with the prognosis of colorectal NENs.C-index was used for assessing the predictive *** conducted a subgroup analysis to explore the different lymph node staging systems’predictive *** After adjusting all confounding factors,PLN,LNR and LODDS staging systems were linked with mortality in patients with colorectal NENs treated surgically(P<0.05).We found that LODDS staging had a higher prognostic value for patients with colorectal NENs treated surgically than PLN and LNR staging *** results were obtained in the different G staging subgroup ***,the area under the receiver operating characteristic curve values for LODDS staging system remained consistently higher than those of PLN or LNR,even at the 1-,2-,3-,4-,5-and 6-year follow-up *** LNR,PLN,and LODDS were found to significantly predict the prognosis of patients with colorectal NENs treated surgically.

On the topological surface states of the intrinsic magnetic topological insulator Mn-Bi-Te family

We review recent progress in the electronic structure study of intrinsic magnetic topological insulators（MnBi2Te4）·（Bi2Te3）n（n = 0, 1, 2, 3） family. Specifically, we focus on the ubiquitously（nearly）gapless behavior of the topological Dirac surface state observed by photoemission spectroscopy, even though a large Dirac gap is expected because of surface ferromagnetic order. The dichotomy between experiment and theory concerning this gap behavior is perhaps the most critical and puzzling question in this frontier. We discuss various proposals accounting for the lack of magnetic effect on the topological Dirac surface state, which are mainly categorized into two pictures, magnetic reconfiguration and topological surface state redistribution. Band engineering towards opening a magnetic gap of topological surface states provides great opportunities to realize quantized topological transport and axion electrodynamics at higher temperatures.
