Effect of Mirena placement on reproductive hormone levels at different time intervals after artificial abortion

BACKGROUND Improper methods of contraception greatly increase the risk of abortion,cervical or endometrial lesions,and the number of recurrent artificial *** complications result in the deterioration of a patient’s ***,the proportion of artificial abortions is highest among unmarried *** of an intrauterine device,such as the Mirena,after an artificial abortion may decrease the likelihood of an endometrial injury caused by recurrent abortions while significantly improving its contraceptive *** To discuss the effect of Mirena placement on reproductive hormone levels at different time points after an artificial *** Women(n=119)undergoing an artificial abortion operation were divided into the study(n=56)and control(n=63)*** the study group,the Mirena was inserted immediately after the artificial abortion,whereas in the control group,it was inserted 4–7 d after the onset of the first menstrual cycle after *** participants were followed-up for 6 mo to observe the continuation and expulsion rates and adverse reactions and to measure the levels of serum estradiol(E2),follicle stimulating hormone(FSH),and luteinizing hormone(LH).RESULTS The continuation rates were 94.64%and 93.65%in the study group and the control group,*** expulsion rates were 1.79%and 3.17%in the study group and the control group,*** was no statistically significant difference between the two groups(P>0.05).There were also no statistically significant differences in the proportion of patients with bacterial vaginitis,trichomonas vaginitis,or cervicitis between the groups(P>0.05).Six months after Mirena placement,E2 Levels were 45.50±7.13 pg/mL and 42.91±8.10 pg/mL,FSH 13.60±3.24 mIU/mL and 14.54±3.11 mIU/mL,and LH 15.11±2.08 mIU/mL and 14.60±3.55 mIU/mL in the study and control groups,*** were no significant differences in hormone levels between the two groups(P>0.05).There were also no stat

Carbon emission quantification and reduction in pavement use phase:A review

Influence of crystal-transforming agent on the performance and mechanism ofα-high-strength gypsum prepared from FGD gypsum

This paper investigates the impact of flue gas desulfurization(FGD)gypsum's crystal modifier on the characteristics and microcosmic mechanism ofα-high strength *** results demonstrate that all three crystal modifiers can convert FGD gypsum toα-high-strength *** acid(CA)has the most significant influence onα-high-strength gypsum,and the preparedα-high-strength gypsum is short columnar,with an aspect ratio in the range of 1-3,and has a faster setting time,a larger specific surface area,and a smaller standard consistency,higher compressive strength,greater surface hardness,and smaller crystal particle *** initial setting time of theα-high-strength gypsum manufactured with CA crystal modifier was decreased by 36%compared to the blank sample,the final setting time was lowered by 37.5%,and the water consumption of the standard consistency was reduced by 8%.The maximum strength is 32 MPa after 2 h,the absolute dry compressive strength is up to 38 MPa,and the surface hardness is improved by 24.43%.

Realization of nonreciprocal acoustic energy transfer using an asymmetric strong nonlinear vibroacoustic system

A micro-crosslinked amphoteric hydrophobic association copolymer as high temperature-and salt-resistance fluid loss reducer for water-based drilling fluids

During ultradeep oil and gas drilling, fluid loss reducers are highly important for water-based drilling fluids, while preparing high temperature-and salt-resistance fluid loss reducers with excellent rheology and filtration performance remains a challenge. Herein, a micro-crosslinked amphoteric hydrophobic association copolymer(i.e., DADC) was synthesized using N,N-dimethyl acrylamide, diallyl dimethyl ammonium chloride, 2-acrylamido-2-methylpropane sulfonic acid, hydrophobic monomer, and pentaerythritol triallyl ether crosslinker. Due to the synergistic effects of hydrogen bonds, electrostatic interaction, hydrophobic association, and micro-crosslinking, the DADC copolymer exhibited outstanding temperature-and salt-resistance. The rheological experiments have shown that the DADC copolymer had excellent shear dilution performance and a certain degree of salt-responsive viscosity-increasing performance. The DADC copolymer could effectively adsorb on the surface of bentonite particles through electrostatic interaction and hydrogen bonds, which bring more negative charge to the bentonite, thus improving the hydration and dispersion of bentonite particles as well as the colloidal stability of the drilling fluids. Moreover, the drilling fluids constructed based on the DADC copolymer exhibited satisfactory rheological and filtration properties(FLHTHP= 12 m L) after aging at high temperatures(up to200°C) and high salinity(saturated salt) environments. Therefore, this work provided new insights into designing and fabricating high-performance drilling fluid treatment agents, demonstrating good potential applications in deep and ultradeep drilling engineering.

Reduced Macrophage Uptake of Nanoparticles through Surface Modification of Polypeptides with Valine Residues

The structural and surface properties of nanomedicines play an important role in determining their biological fate. Surface chemistry of nanomedicines is one of the key parameters, where researchers used various strategies such as PEGylation to avoid the undesired clearance of nanoparticles (NPs) for enhanced targeting effect. Nevertheless, the fine-tuning of surface chemistry through polymer functionalization remains largely unexplored. In this concise report, we find that the incorporation of only 10 mol% valine residues into the surface-anchored poly(L-glutamic acid) significantly lowered the macrophage uptake of NPs. The introduction of other hydrophobic amino acid residues, however, increased the NPs internalization instead. The chirality and the side-chain structure of valine played an important role in the unexpected uptake behavior. We believe this work highlights the impact of slight changes of the surface-anchored polymer structure on the behavior of NPs, drawing people's attention to the careful design of surface chemistry to optimize the nanomedicine design.

High-Temperature Stability of Mg-1Al-12Y Alloy Containing LPSO Phase and Mechanism of Its Portevin-Le Chatelier(PLC)Effect

In this study,the high-temperature stability and the generation mechanism of the Portevin-Le Chatelier(PLC)effect in solid-solution Mg-1Al-12Y alloy with different heat treatment processes were investigated by adjusting the content of long-period stacking ordered(LPSO)*** was found that the content of LPSO phases in the alloys differed the most after heat treatment at 530℃for 16 h and 24 h,with values of 13.56%and 3.93%***,high-temperature tensile experiments were conducted on these two alloys at temperatures of 150℃,200℃,250℃,and 300℃.The results showed that both alloys exhibited the PLC effect at temperatures ranging from 150 to 250℃.However,at a temperature 300℃,only the alloy with a greater concentration of LPSO phases exhibited the PLC effect,whereas the alloy with a lower proportion of LPSO phases did not exhibit this ***,both alloys exhibited remarkable high-temperature stability,with the alloy containing a greater percentage of LPSO phases also demonstrating superior *** underlying mechanism for this phenomenon lies in the exceptional high-temperature stability exhibited by the second phase within the ***,the LPSO phase effectively obstructs the movement of dislocations,and it also undergoing kinking to facilitate plastic deformation of the *** results indicate that the PLC effect can be suppressed by reducing dislocation pile-up at grain boundaries,which leads to a decrease in alloy plasticity but an increase in *** presence of the PLC effect in the WA121 alloy is attributed to the abundant dispersed second phase within the alloy,which initially hinders the movement of dislocations,leading to an increase in stress,and subsequently releases the dislocations,allowing them to continue their movement and thereby reducing in stress.

Neural Dynamics for Cooperative Motion Control of Omnidirectional Mobile Manipulators in the Presence of Noises: A Distributed Approach

This paper presents a distributed scheme with limited communications, aiming to achieve cooperative motion control for multiple omnidirectional mobile manipulators(MOMMs).The proposed scheme extends the existing single-agent motion control to cater to scenarios involving the cooperative operation of MOMMs. Specifically, squeeze-free cooperative load transportation is achieved for the end-effectors of MOMMs by incorporating cooperative repetitive motion planning(CRMP), while guiding each individual to desired poses. Then, the distributed scheme is formulated as a time-varying quadratic programming(QP) and solved online utilizing a noise-tolerant zeroing neural network(NTZNN). Theoretical analysis shows that the NTZNN model converges globally to the optimal solution of QP in the presence of noise. Finally, the effectiveness of the control design is demonstrated by numerical simulations and physical platform experiments.
