Background Adaptor proteins containing PH domain, PTB domain, and leucine zipper motif 1 and 2 （APPL1/2） play a key role in cell proliferation in many tissues. APPL1 or APPL2 as an adaptor for adiponectin receptors mediates the signaling pathway of adiponectin which acts as an anti-atherosclerotic adipokine. This study aimed to investigate whether genetic variations in the APPL 1/2 genes affect the risk of coronary artery disease （CAD） in Chinese patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus （T2DM）. Methods Seven haplotype-tagging single nucleotide polymorphisms （tag-SNPs） were selected from CHB HapMap database （Phase II） and total 203 CAD-positive cases and 106 CAD-negative controls with T2DM were genotyped for the 7 tag-SNPs by polymerase chain reaction-restriction fragment length polymorphism （PCR-RFLP） assay. Results The minor allele G of rs4640525 at APPL1 locus was protective from CAD in patients with T2DM, with the carriers of genotype CC at higher risk of CAD compared with non-carriers （OR=2.830, 95% Cl 1.285-6.230, P=0.010; OR＇=4.992, 95% C1=1.758-14.173, P＇0.003, after adjustment for the other known CAD risk factors）; the homozygotes of AA at rs11112412 in APPL2 gene had higher risk of CAD compared with those of GG （adjusted OFt=5.697, 95% Cl 1.006-32.257, P=0.049）. Conclusion Genetic variation（s） in APPL 1/2 may be associated with CAD risk in T2DM in Chinese population.

Coronavirus disease 2019(COVID-19)occurs in the influenza season and has become a global *** present study aimed to examine severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2(SARS-CoV-2)co-infection with influenza A virus(IAV)in an attempt to provide clues for the antiviral interventions of co-infected *** described two patients who were co-infected with SARS-CoV-2 and IAV treated at Wuhan Union Hospital,*** addition,we performed a review in PubMed,Web of Science and CNKI(from January 1 up to November 1,2020)with combinations of the following key words:“COVID-19,SARS-COV-2,influenza A and co-infection”.A total of 28 co-infected patients were enrolled in the *** the 28 patients,the median age was 54.5 years(IQR,34.25–67.5)and 14 cases(50.0%)were classified as severe *** most common symptoms were fever(85.71%),cough(82.14%)and dyspnea(60.71%).Sixteen patients had lymphocytopenia on admission and 23 patients exhibited abnormal radiological *** median time from symptom onset to hospital admission was 4 days(IQR,3–6),and the median time of hospital stay was 14 days(IQR,8.5–16.75).In conclusion,patients with SARSCOV-2 and IAV co-infection were similar to those infected with SARS-COV-2 alone in symptoms and radiological ***-COV-2 co-infection with IAV could lead to more severe clinical condition but did not experience longer hospital stay compared with patients infected with SARSCOV-2 alone.

E-commerce platform financing is a new service pattern of supply chain ***,this pattern may bring some new issues when considering the problem of cash flow shortage and financing difficulties of small and medium-sized *** enterprises use this service,they worry about the leakage of preferential wholesale price when applying the full loan amount and providing the true transaction *** on the model consisting of a supplier,a retailer and a cross-border e-commerce platform,the authors design a price masking strategy to prevent the retailer’s preferential wholesale price information from *** authors analyze the profit of the retailer and the platform before and after adopting the price masking *** authors find that the price masking strategy always benefits the ***,the optimal profit of the retailer and the platform are both affected by the loan interest ***,there exists a range of loan interest rates that can benefit both the retailer and the platform if the price masking strategy is *** research emphasizes that platform can expand the total business volume by allowing retailers to use price masking *** other words,there will be more and more retailers attracted by the strategy,which benefits the long-term growth of cross-border e-commerce platform financing.

A total of 10 specimens of Alcyonacea corals were collected at depths ranging from 905 m to 1633 m by the manned submersible Shenhai Yongshi during two cruises in the South China Sea(SCS).Based on mitochondrial genomic characteristics,morphological examination,and sclerite scanning electron microscopy,the samples were categorized into four suborders(Calcaxonia,Holaxonia,Scleraxonia,and Stolonifera),and identified as 9 possible new cold-water coral *** of GC-skew dissimilarity,phylogenetic distance,and average nucleotide identity(ANI)revealed a slow evolutionary rate for the octocoral mitochondrial *** nonsynonymous(Ka)to synonymous(Ks)substitution ratio(Ka/Ks)suggested that the 14 protein-coding genes(PCGs)were under purifying selection,likely due to specific deep-sea environmental *** analysis of the median Ka/Ks values of five gene families and environmental factors indicated that the genes encoding cytochrome b(cyt b)and DNA mismatch repair protein(mutS)may be influenced by environmental factors in the context of deep-sea species *** study highlights the slow evolutionary pace and adaptive mechanisms of deep-sea corals.

Along with the development of 5G network and Internet of Things technologies,there has been an explosion in personalized healthcare *** the 5G and Artificial Intelligence(Al)is introduced into diabetes management architecture,it can increase the efficiency of existing systems and complications of diabetes can be handled more effectively by taking advantage of *** this article,we propose a 5G-based Artificial Intelligence Diabetes Management architecture(AIDM),which can help physicians and patients to manage both acute complications and chronic *** AIDM contains five layers:the sensing layer,the transmission layer,the storage layer,the computing layer,and the application *** build a test bed for the transmission and application ***,we apply a delay-aware RA optimization based on a double-queue model to improve access efficiency in smart hospital wards in the transmission *** application layer,we build a prediction model using a deep forest *** on real-world data show that our AIDM can enhance the efficiency of diabetes management and improve the screening rate of diabetes as well.

This report presents the observations and measurements of the strain and stress distribution ahead of the tip of a transverse crack in thin aluminium sheets under longitudinal tension by moire’method, In case of small scale yielding the experimental results are in good agreement with the results given by finite element method and the Irwin theory. Hence one can conclude that the experimental technique employed here is reliable, In case of large scale yielding the experimental results shown that the nearer the distance of the line parallel to or perpendicular to the crack from the crack tip, the higher the value of the peak of the stress distribution along that line and the nearer the distance of the peak itself to the tip. However, it is found that the maximum value of the stress does not just appear at the tip of the crack, but at some point a short distance away from the tip, The direction of the crack extension is found to be along the slope of a line which are formed by the furthest points from the crack tip on the iso-effective-stress σ_c contours.

Network meta-analysis of combination strategies in metastatic hormone-sensitive prostate cancer

This study compared different doublet and triplet therapies for efficacy and safety in metastatic hormone-sensitive prostate cancer(mHSPC).PubMed,EMBASE,and the Cochrane Library were comprehensively searched for eligible randomized controlled trials(RCTs)published from inception to October *** included abiraterone,apalutamide,enzalutamide,docetaxel,darolutamide,and androgen deprivation therapy(ADT),either as doublet or triplet *** outcomes examined were overall survival(OS),progression-free survival(PFS),castration-resistant prostate cancer(CRPC)-free survival,time to symptomatic skeletal event(SSE),and *** surface under the cumulative ranking curve(SUCRA)was determined to identify the preferred *** RCTs were *** combination of darolutamide,docetaxel,and ADT had the highest SUCRA of 84.3 for OS,followed by combined abiraterone,docetaxel,and ADT(SUCRA=71.6).The highest SUCRAs for PFS were observed for triplet therapies(abiraterone,docetaxel,and ADT[SUCRA=74.9],followed by enzalutamide,docetaxel,and ADT[SUCRA=74.3])and other androgen receptor axis-targeted therapy-based doublet therapies(SUCRAs:26.5–59.3).Darolutamide,docetaxel,and ADT had the highest SUCRAs,i.e.,80.8 and 84.0 regarding CRPC-free survival and time to SSE,*** Grade>3 adverse events(AEs),the SUCRAs of triplet therapies(SUCRAs:14.8–31.5)were similar to that of docetaxel and ADT(SUCRA=39.5).Three studies had a low risk of bias in all categories;the remaining studies had at least an unclear risk of bias in at least one *** therapy demonstrated potentially enhanced effectiveness than doublet therapy in mHSPC,with acceptable safety *** might be the optimal option for triplet therapy in combination with docetaxel and ADT.

Cooperation and networking are powerful tools in the combating against tropical diseases. Cooperation on a global scale is essential due to the transboundary nature of tropical diseases. Networking plays a pivotal role in facilitating such cooperation. Both cooperation and networking can foster innovation in disease control programmes. Collaborative research can lead to the development of new drugs and vaccines, while shared surveillance data can enable the early detection and control of disease epidemics. Therefore, consensus of cooperation and networking has been reached during the 7th Symposium on Surveillance-Response Systems Leading to Tropical Diseases Elimination, which reflected in the two documents, i.e.,Consensus for Transboundary Tropical Diseases Control, andAction Consensus of the Network of WHO Collaborating Centres Related to NTDs. These documents will improve the efforts in the fighting against tropical diseases through collective actions to achieve the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

Metal-organic frameworks(MOFs)have attracted widespread attention due to their regular structures,multiple material centers,and various *** are always considered as one kind of ideal templates for developing highly sensitive and selective gas *** this study,the advantages of MOFs with the high specific surface area(71.9891 m^(2)·g^(-1))and uniform morphology were fully utilized,and urchin-like SnO_(2) nanowires were obtained by the hydrothermal method followed by the calcination using Sn-MOFs consisting of the ligand of C_(9)H_(6)O_(6)(H_(3)BTC)and Sn/Ce center ions as sacrificial *** unique urchin-like nanowire structure facilitated gas diffusion and adsorption,resulting in superior gas sensitivity.A series of Ce-doped SnO_(2) nanowires with different doping ratios were synthesized,and their gas sensing properties towards formaldehyde were *** resulted Ce-SnO_(2) was revealed to have high sensitivity(201.2 at 250℃),rapid response(4 s),long-term stability,and good repeatability for formaldehyde sensing,and the gas sensing mechanism of Ce-SnO_(2) exposed to formaldehyde was also systematically discussed.
