Herein,an iron(II)-catalyzed decarboxylative and oxidative decarbonylative cross-coupling ofα-fluoro cinnamic acids with aliphatic aldehydes is presented.This methodology provided a novel and practical strategy for the construction of monofluoroalkenes from abundant and readily available aliphatic aldehydes,which are key functional groups in used in synthetic transformations in the pharmaceutical and agrochemical sciences.

Here,through single-molecule real-time sequencing,we present a high-quality genome sequence of the Japanese larch(Larix kaempferi),a conifer species with great value for wood production and ecological afforestation.The assembled genome is 10.97 Gb in size,harboring 45,828 protein-coding genes.Of the genome,66.8%consists of repeat sequences,of which long terminal repeat retrotransposons are dominant and make up 69.86%.We find that tandem duplications have been responsible for the expansion of genes involved in transcriptional regulation and stress responses,unveiling their crucial roles in adaptive evolution.Population transcriptome analysis reveals that lignin content in L.kaempferi is mainly determined by the process of monolignol polymerization.The expression values of six genes(LkC OMT7,LkC OMT8,LkL AC23,LkL AC102,LkP RX148,and LkP RX166)have significantly positive correlations with lignin content.These results indicated that the increased expression of these six genes might be responsible for the high lignin content of the larches’wood.Overall,this study provides new genome resources for investigating the evolution and biological function of conifer trees,and also offers new insights into wood properties of larches.

In recent twenty years,aggregation-induced emission(AIE),due to its excellent application prospect,has aroused widespread interests.The development of novel and easy to make AIE luminogens(AIEgens)is an attractive subject.For this purpose,it is very important to study the structure-property relationship of AIEgens.Because azine derivatives are easy to synthesis and some of them have nice AIE properties,herein,a series of azine derivatives(ADs)were employed as models to study the influence of different functional groups,electronic effects and structures on the AIE properties of azine derivatives.The AIE mechanism were studied by single crystal analysis,density functional theory(DFT)calculations and so on.The results indicated that the o-hydroxyl aryl substituted azine compounds could show good AIE properties.Meanwhile,the AIE properties of o-hydroxyl aryl substituted azine compounds were also influenced by the electronic effects of the aryl groups in the azine compounds.The o-hydroxyl groups could form intramolecular hydrogen bond with imine group,which play key role to restrict the intramolecular rotation of the aryl groups and act as base stone for the AIE process of this kind compounds.The HOMO-LUMO energy gaps of o-hydroxyl substituted azine are smaller than other homologous compounds,which is agree with the proposed AIE mechanism.Finally,thanks to the AIE properties,the o-hydroxy-substituted azines could be used as efficient Al^(3+)and Cu^(2+)fluorescent chemosensors in different conditions.In addition,test strips based on AD10 has been prepared,which can conveniently detect Cu^(2+)in industrial wastewater.This research supplied a way for the design of novel easy to make AIEgens through simple azine derivatives.

BACKGROUND Granulomatous lobular mastitis(GLM)is a type of benign chronic inflammatory disease that poses therapeutic challenges to healthcare providers.The diagnosis of GLM relies on tissue biopsy,and incorrect treatment may lead to delayed diagnosis,considerable aesthetic damage,and even mastectomy.CASE SUMMARY We report the case of a 37-year-old Chinese woman who was lactating and had GLM in both breasts.At the time of treatment,the right breast had a mass of approximately 15 cm×11 cm,which was hard and had poor mobility.Multiple skin ulcerations and pus spills were also observed on the surface of the breast.The left breast had a mass of about 13 cm×9 cm,which was hard and had poor mobility.CONCLUSION Herein,we report a case of bilateral GLM in a lactating woman that was successfully treated with traditional Chinese medicine(TCM),without the requirement for surgery or other treatments.Therefore,TCM may have advantages in the nonsurgical treatment of GLM.

The effective materials and methods for detection and separation of pesticides are urgently needed because most of pesticides show very harmful influence on life and environment. As a new kind of macrocyclic host compound, pillar[n]arenes show very good performance in the detection and separation of pesticides, especially for paraquat(PQ). For the pesticide detection and separation materials, their structures determine performance. Therefore, this review summarizes the recent progress of pillar[n]arenes-based materials for detection and separation of pesticides covering single/multi-pillar[n]arenes, pillar[n]arenes-based polymers, frameworks, composites, nanomaterials, etc.The structure-performance relationships of these materials have been discussed according to the cavity size, the synergistic or collaboration effect, the structure of the polymer or framework, the substrate of the composites and the size of nanomaterials and so on. Based on these, we also look forward to the future and point out the possible way for improving the pesticides detection sensitivity and separation efficiency of this kind of materials.

Backgroud: Current understanding of injury and regeneration of islet β-cells in diabetes is mainly based on rodent studies. The tree shrew is now generally accepted as being among the closest living relatives of primates, and has been widely used in animal experimentation. However, there are few reports on islet cell composition and regeneration of β-cells in tree shrews.Methods: In this study, we examined the changes in islet cell composition and regeneration of β-cells after streptozotocin(STZ) treatment in tree shrews compared with Sprague-Dawley rats. Injury and regeneration of islet β-cells were observed using hematoxylin and eosin(HE) staining and immunohistochemical staining for insulin, glucagon, somatostatin and PDX-1.Results: Our data showed that in rats islet injury was most obvious on day 3 after injection, and islet morphologies were significantly restored by day 21. Regeneration of islet β-cells was very pronounced in rats, and mainly involved regeneration of centro-acinar cells and transformation of extra-islet ductal cells. In tree shrews, the regeneration of islet β-cells was not as significant. On days 3 and 7, only scattered regenerated cells were observed in the remaining islets. Further, no regeneration of centro-acinar cells was observed.Conclusion: The results suggest that the repair mechanism of islet β-cells in tree shrews is similar to that of humans.

A 18-year-old local Han Chinese primigravida woman suffered with severe pre-eclampsia.After blood pressure stabilization,convulsion prophylaxis and fetal lung maturity enhancement,emergency cesarean section was performed for inntractable headache at 32 weeks.Uterine inversion spontaneously occured at cesarean section.Immediately,uterine inversion was corrected manually without difficulty.Uterine atony and postpartum haemorrhage did not occur,and the patient made an remarkable recovery.This case report provides residents with excellent case-based learning.The management of uterine inversion requires immediate treatment for uterine repositioning.All staff members in the maternal unit should be updated with skills and knowledge about uterine inversion.

●AIM:To study the changes and effect factors of posterior corneal surface after small incision lenticule extraction(SMILE)with different myopic diopters.●METHODS:Ninety eyes of 90 patients who underwent SMILE were included in this retrospective study.Patients were allocated into three groups based on the preoperative spherical equivalent(SE):low myopia(SE≥-3.00 D),moderate myopia(-3.00 D>SE>-6.00 D)and high myopia(SE≤-6.00 D).Posterior corneal surfaces were measured by a Scheimpflug camera preoperatively and different postoperative times(1wk,1,3,6mo,and 1y).Posterior mean elevation(PME)at 25 predetermined points of 3 concentric circles(2-,4-,and 6-mm diameter)above the best fit sphere was analyzed.●RESULTS:All surgeries were completed uneventfully and no ectasia was found through the observation.The difference of myopia group was significant at the 2-mm ring at 1 and 3mo postoperatively(1mo:P=0.017;3mo:P=0.018).The effect of time onΔPME was statistically significant(2-mm ring:P=0.001;4-mm ring:P<0.001;6-mm ring:P<0.001).The effect of different corneal locations onΔPME was significant except 1wk postoperatively(1mo:P=0.000;3mo:P=0.000;6mo:P=0.001;1y:P=0.001).Posterior corneal stability was linearly correlated with SE,central corneal thickness,ablation depth,residual bed thickness,percent ablation depth and percent stromal bed thickness.●CONCLUSION:The posterior corneal surface changes dynamically after SMILE.No protrusion is observed on the posterior corneal surface in patients with different degrees of myopia within one year after surgery.SMILE has good stability,accuracy,safety and predictability.

In this paper,we discuss the related properties of some particular derivations in semihoops and give some characterizations of them.Then,we prove that every Heyting algebra is isomorphic to the algebra of all multiplicative derivations and show that every Boolean algebra is isomorphic to the algebra of all implicative derivations.Finally,we show that the sets of multiplicative and implicative derivations on bounded regular idempotent semihoops are in oneto-one correspondence.

BACKGROUND This study was designed to investigate the clinical outcomes of enhanced recovery after surgery(ERAS)in the perioperative period in elderly patients with nonsmall cell lung cancer(NSCLC).AIM To investigate the potential enhancement of video-assisted thoracic surgery(VATS)in postoperative recovery in elderly patients with NSCLC.METHODS We retrospectively analysed the clinical data of 85 elderly NSCLC patients who underwent ERAS(the ERAS group)and 327 elderly NSCLC patients who received routine care(the control group)after VATS at the Department of Thoracic Surgery of Peking University Shenzhen Hospital between May 2015 and April 2017.After propensity score matching of baseline data,we analysed the postoperative stay,total hospital expenses,postoperative 48-h pain score,and postoperative complication rate for the 2 groups of patients who underwent lobectomy or sublobar resection.RESULTS After propensity score matching,ERAS significantly reduced the postoperative hospital stay(6.96±4.16 vs 8.48±4.18 d,P=0.001)and total hospital expenses(48875.27±18437.5 vs 55497.64±21168.63 CNY,P=0.014)and improved the satisfaction score(79.8±7.55 vs 77.35±7.72,P=0.029)relative to those for routine care.No significant between-group difference was observed in postoperative 48-h pain score(4.68±1.69 vs 5.28±2.1,P=0.090)or postoperative complication rate(21.2%vs 27.1%,P=0.371).Subgroup analysis showed that ERAS significantly reduced the postoperative hospital stay and total hospital expenses and increased the satisfaction score of patients who underwent lobectomy but not of patients who underwent sublobar resection.CONCLUSION ERAS effectively reduced the postoperative hospital stay and total hospital expenses and improved the satisfaction score in the perioperative period for elderly NSCLC patients who underwent lobectomy but not for patients who underwent sublobar resection.
