Cerebral small vessel disease(CSVD)is a senile brain lesion caused by the abnormal structure and function of arterioles,venules and capillaries in the aging brain.The etiology of CsvD is complex,and disease is often asymptomatic in its early stages.However,as CsvD develops,brain disorders may occur,such as stroke,cognitive dysfunction,dyskinesia and mood disorders,and heart,kidney,eye and systemic disorders.As the population continues to age,the burden of CsvD is increasing.Moreover,there is an urgent need for better screening methods and diagnostic markers for CsvD,in addition to preventive and asymptomatic-and mild-stage treatments.Integrative medicine(IM),which combines the holistic concepts and syndrome differentiations of Chinese medicine with modern medical perspectives,has unique advantages for the prevention and treatment of CsvD.In this review,we summarize the biological markers,ultrasound and imaging features,disease-related genes and risk factors relevant to CsvD diagnosis and screening.Furthermore,we discuss IM-based csvD prevention and treatment strategies to stimulate further research in this field.

Background:The incidence of liver injury caused by anti-tuberculous(TB)drugs is very high.However,owing to a lack of sufficient evidence,preventive use of hepatoprotective drugs is not yet recommended.Therefore,we aimed to assess the protective effect of hepatoprotective drugs for anti-TB drug-induced liver injury.Methods:We conducted a literature search in China Biology Medicine disc,China National Knowledge Infras-tructure,WanFang,Chinese Scientific and Technological Journal,PubMed,Cochrane Library,Web of Science,and Embase.We performed meta-analysis using R 4.0 and Review Manager 5.3 software.Results:A total of 18 studies involving 3589 patients from 2 groups were included.Use of hepatoprotective drugs contributed to a lower incidence of liver injury as compared with conventional anti-TB treatment alone(relative risk[RR]=0.39,95%confidence interval[CI]:0.28-0.53,p<0.001).In subgroup analysis,significant protective effects were noted for mild liver injury(RR=0.30,95%CI 0.15-0.58),moderate(or severe)liver injury(RR=0.35,95%CI 0.19-0.65),and liver injury within 2-4 weeks(RR=0.37,95%CI 0.19-0.71).We also found a statistically significant difference in the incidence of drug withdrawal(RR=0.58,95%CI 0.34-0.97,p=0.040).Conclusions:Our results demonstrate that hepatoprotective drugs are effective in preventing liver injury in pa-tients receiving anti-TB treatment,to some extent.

Hypoglycemic effects of black brick tea with fungal growth in hyperglycemic mice model

Dark tea(containing Eurotium cristatum)and black tea have hypoglycemic effects.The black brick tea with fungal growth is obtained from black tea by adding E.cristatum,followed by steaming,pressing,fungal growth,and drying.However,the hypoglycemic effects of black brick tea are still unexplored.Here,we used black brick tea with fungal growth and black tea as raw materials to study their hypoglycemic effects in a hyperglycemic mice model.Both these types of black tea could lower the content of blood glucose and increase the content of hepatic glycogen by upregulating the proteins and m RNA expression of phosphatidylinositol-4,5-bisphosphate3-kinase,glycogen synthase,protein kinase B and phosphoinositidedependent protein kinase-1 and downregulating the protein and m RNA expression of glycogen synthase kinase 3β.These regulatory steps were followed by high activities of glutathione peroxidase and superoxide dismutase and low content of malondialdehyde.These teas can promote blood glucose transport and absorption by upregulating the protein and m RNA expression of insulin receptor substrate-1 and glucose transporter-2 and stimulate glycolysis by upregulating the protein and m RNA expression of 6-phosphofructo-2-kinase/fructose-2,6-biphosphatase 2.Our study suggests that the black brick tea was more effective than the black tea in terms of hypoglycemic.

Production logistics(PL)is considered as a critical factor that affects the efficiency and cost of production operations in discrete manufacturing systems.To effectively utilize manufacturing big data to improve PL efficiency and promote job shop floor economic benefits,this study proposes a PL trajectory analysis and optimization decision making method driven by a manufacturing task data chain(MTDC).First,the manufacturing task chain(MTC)is defined to characterize the discrete production process of a product.To handle manufacturing big data,the MTC data paradigm is designed,and the MTDC is established.Then,the logistics trajectory model is presented,where the various types of logistics trajectories are extracted using the MTC as the search engine for the MTDC.Based on this,a logistics efficiency evaluation indicator system is proposed to support the optimization decision making for the PL.Finally,a case study is applied to verify the proposed method,and the method determines the PL optimization decisions for PL efficiency without changing the layout and workshop equipment,which can assist managers in implementing the optimization decisions.

Methylprednisolone pulse treatment is currently used fo r optic neuritis.It can speed visual recovery,but does not improve the ultimate visual outcomes.Recent studies have repo rted that miR-125 a-5 p has immunomodulatory effects on autoimmune diseases.However,it remains unclear whether miR-125 a-5 p has effects on optic neuritis.In this study,we used adeno-associated virus to overexpress or silence miR-125 a-5 p in mice.We found that silencing miR-125 a-5 p increased the latency of visual evoked potential and aggravated inflammation of the optic nerve.Ove rexpression of miR-125 a-5 p suppressed inflammation of the optic nerve,protected retinal ganglion cells,and increased the percentage of Treg cells.Our findings show that miR-125 a-5 p exhibits anti-inflammatory effects through promoting the diffe rentiation of Treg cells.

CCCH(C3 H) Zinc finger(Znf) transcription factors(TFs), as a novel type of Znf gene, regulate the expression of genes by binding to their mRNAs and play important roles in plant growth and development and abiotic stress resistance.Longan(Dimocarpous longan) is a tropical/subtropical fruit tree of great economic importance in Southeast Asia.However, genomic information on C3 H and their functions in longan are still unknown. In this study, a comprehensive analysis of the longan C3 H(DlC3 H) gene family was carried out. A total of 49 DlC3 H genes in three clades were identified from the longan genome database. Characteristics of the genes were analyzed with respect to gene structure,motif composition, phylogenetic tree and potential functions. The analysis of alternative splicing(AS) events suggested that AS events in DlC3 H genes were related to the transformation from longan non-embryonic to embryonic cultures.Promoter analysis indicated that most of the DlC3 H genes included cis-acting elements associated with hormones and stresses responses. Quantitative real-time PCR(qRT-PCR) analysis indicated that 26 of the 49 DlC3 Hs, which possess methyl jasmonate(MeJA) and abscisic acid(ABA) responsive cis-acting elements, showed differential expression patterns under treatment with ABA, MeJA and their endogenous inhibitors, suggesting that DlC3 Hs might be involved in the ABA and MeJA signaling pathways. The expression profiles of 17 of the 49 DlC3 Hs in non-embryonic callus and three tissues of embryonic cultures showed that only five of the 17 DlC3 Hs had the same expression trends as the FPKM trends in transcriptome data;the expression levels of DlC3 H07/14/16/36/49 in embryogenic callus and DlC3 H04/38 in globular embryos were high, suggesting that they have different functions in embryonic development. Further, we verified that DlC3 H01/03/05/11/19/39 were regulated by sRNAs by a modified 5’ RLM-RACE method. Research on energy storage technology is a vital part of realizing the dual-carbon strategy at this stage.Aqueous zinc-ion batteries(AZIBs)are favorable competitors in various energy storage devices due to their high energy density,reassuring intrinsic safety,and unique cost advantages.The design of cathode materials is crucial for the large-scale development and application of AZIBs.Vanadium-based oxides with high theoretical capacity,diverse valence states,as well as high electrochemical activity,have been widely used as cathode materials for AZIBs.Unfortunately,there are some obstacles,including low electronic conductivity and sluggish kinetics,hindering their further application in AZIBs.In view of the above,this review will introduce a series of modification methods including morphology design,defect engineering,ingenious combination with conductive materials,and modification of electrolyte and zinc anode according to the intrinsic disadvantage of vanadium oxides and summarize the research progress of various modification methods including zinc storage performance and mechanism.Finally,several reasonable prospects will be proposed to appease the needs of basic research and practical applications according to the current status.

Improving the Softness of BOPP Films： From Laboratory Investigation to Industrial Processing

Young＇s modulus of biaxially oriented polypropylene （BOPP） films prepared with homemade film stretcher was investigated, which can be used to indicate the softness of films. It was found that the modulus of films was decreased by about 69% as the content of polyethylene （PE） added into polypropylene （PP） reached 30%. Also, increasing draw temperature can induce lower stress level during stretching, which may lead to the formation of crystals with low orientation level and thus decreased modulus of films. Based on laboratory study, BOPP films produced on commercial line were studied by differential scanning calorimetry （DSC）, wide and small-angle X-ray scattering （WAXS, SAXS） with varying contents of PE. SAXS results show that the crystals are oriented in both machine direction （MD） and transverse direction （TD）, and the crystals are more oriented in TD than MD according to the WAXS results for all films. Also, the orientation parameter of crystal along TD increases from 0.68 to 0.83 as the contents of PE increase from 0% to 25%. Meanwhile, the modulus of films in MD declines with increase of PE contents generally, improving the film softness. Orientation of crystals is thus an effective structure parameter to adjust the film softness. The relationship of processing-structure-property is also established.
