Influence of group B streptococcus and vaginal cleanliness on the vaginal microbiome of pregnant women

BACKGROUND The vaginal microbiome plays a critical role in the health of pregnant women and their *** B Streptococcus(GBS)and vaginal cleanliness significantly affect the vaginal microecosystem and are closely associated with vaginal *** To explore the effects of GBS status and vaginal cleanliness on vaginal *** We collected 160 vaginal swabs from pregnant women and divided them into the following four groups based on GBS status and vaginal cleanliness:GBS-positive+vaginal cleanliness I–II degree,GBS-negative+vaginal cleanliness I–II degree,GBS-positive+vaginal cleanliness III–IV degree,and GBS-negative+vaginal cleanliness III–IV *** were subjected to 16S rRNA gene amplicon *** Alpha diversity analysis showed that the Shannon index did not significantly differ between the four *** identified significant variation in taxa abundance between the GBS-positive and GBS-negative groups and between the vaginal cleanliness I–II degree and III–IV degree *** coordinate analysis and non-metric multidimensional scaling analysis further confirmed the microbial diversity of the four ***,the linear discriminant analysis demonstrated that Lactobacillus jensenii and Actinobacteria were strongly associated with GBS-positive status,and Lactobacillus iners,Lactobacillaceae,Lactobacillus,Lactobacillales,Bacilli and Firmicutes were closely correlated with GBS-negative *** GBS status and vaginal cleanliness significantly affect vaginal microbiome differences in pregnant *** findings provide instructional information for clinical antibiotic treatment in pregnant women with different GBS statuses and vaginal cleanliness degrees.

An Efficient Multi-objective Approach Based on Golden Jackal Search for Dynamic Economic Emission Dispatch

Dynamic Economic Emission Dispatch(DEED)aims to optimize control over fuel cost and pollution emission,two conflicting objectives,by scheduling the output power of various units at specific *** many methods well-performed on the DEED problem,most of them fail to achieve expected results in practice due to a lack of effective trade-off mechanisms between the convergence and diversity of non-dominated optimal dispatching *** address this issue,a new multi-objective solver called Multi-Objective Golden Jackal Optimization(MOGJO)algorithm is proposed to cope with the DEED *** proposed algorithm first stores non-dominated optimal solutions found so far into an ***,it chooses the best dispatching solution from the archive as the leader through a selection mechanism designed based on elite selection strategy and Euclidean distance index *** mechanism can guide the algorithm to search for better dispatching solutions in the direction of reducing fuel costs and pollutant ***,the basic golden jackal optimization algorithm has the drawback of insufficient search,which hinders its ability to effectively discover more Pareto *** this end,a non-linear control parameter based on the cosine function is introduced to enhance global exploration of the dispatching space,thus improving the efficiency of finding the optimal dispatching *** proposed MOGJO is evaluated on the latest CEC benchmark test functions,and its superiority over the state-of-the-art multi-objective optimizers is highlighted by performance ***,empirical results on 5-unit,10-unit,IEEE 30-bus,and 30-unit systems show that the MOGJO can provide competitive compromise scheduling solutions compared to published DEED ***,in the analysis of the Pareto dominance relationship and the Euclidean distance index,the optimal dispatching solutions provided by MOGJO are the closest to the ideal solutions for minimizing fuel costs

APFA:Ameliorated Pathfinder Algorithm for Engineering Applications

Pathfinder algorithm(PFA)is a swarm intelligent optimization algorithm inspired by the collective activity behavior of swarm animals,imitating the leader in the population to guide followers in finding the best food *** algorithm has the characteristics of a simple structure and high ***,PFA faces challenges such as insufficient population diversity and susceptibility to local optima due to its inability to effectively balance the exploration and exploitation *** paper proposes an Ameliorated Pathfinder Algorithm called APFA to solve complex engineering optimization ***,a guidance mechanism based on multiple elite individuals is presented to enhance the global search capability of the ***,to improve the exploration efficiency of the algorithm,the Logistic chaos mapping is introduced to help the algorithm find more high-quality potential solutions while avoiding the worst ***,a comprehensive following strategy is designed to avoid the algorithm falling into local optima and further improve the convergence *** three strategies achieve an effective balance between exploration and exploitation overall,thus improving the optimization performance of the *** performance evaluation,APFA is validated by the CEC2022 benchmark test set and five engineering optimization problems,and compared with the state-of-the-art metaheuristic *** numerical experimental results demonstrated the superiority of APFA.

The trigeminal root entry zone is the zone at which the myelination switches from peripheral Schwann cells to central *** special anatomical and physiological structure renders it susceptible to nerve *** etiology of most primary trigeminal neuralgia is closely related to microvascular compression of the trigeminal root entry *** study aimed to develop an efficient in vitro model mimicking the glial environment of trigeminal root entry zone as a tool to investigate the effects of glial cell line-derived neurotrophic factor and brain-derived neurotrophic factor on the structural and functional integrity of trigeminal root entry zone and modulation of cellular *** astrocytes and Schwann cells isolated from trigeminal root entry zone of postnatal rats were inoculated into a two-well silicon culture insert to mimic the trigeminal root entry zone microenvironment and treated with glial cell line-derived neurotrophic factor and brain-derived neurotrophic *** monoculture,glial cell line-derived neurotrophic factor promoted the migration of Schwann cells,but it did not have effects on the migration of *** the co-culture system,glial cell line-derived neurotrophic factor promoted the bidirectional migration of astrocytes and Schwann ***-derived neurotrophic factor markedly promoted the activation and migration of ***,in the co-culture system,brain-derived neurotrophic factor inhibited the migration of astrocytes and Schwann cells to a certain *** findings suggest that glial cell line-derived neurotrophic factor and brain-derived neurotrophic factor are involved in the regulation of the astrocyte-Schwann cell interaction in the co-culture system derived from the trigeminal root entry *** system can be used as a cell model to study the mechanism of glial dysregulation associated with trigeminal nerve injury and possible therapeutic interventions.

High-efficiently doping nitrogen in kapok fiber-derived hard carbon used as anode materials for boosting rate performance of sodium-ion batteries

The engineering of plant-based precursor for nitrogen doping has become one of the most promising strategies to enhance rate capability of hard carbon materials for sodium-ion batteries;however,the poor rate performance is mainly caused by lack of pyridine nitrogen,which often tends to escape because of high temperature in preparation process of hard *** this paper,a high-rate kapok fiber-derived hard carbon is fabricated by cross-linking carboxyl group in 2,6-pyridinedicarboxylic acid with the exposed hydroxyl group on alkalized kapok with assistance of zinc ***,a high nitrogen doping content of 4.24%is achieved,most of which are pyridine nitrogen;this is crucial for improving the defect sites and electronic conductivity of hard *** optimized carbon with feature of high nitrogen content,abundant functional groups,degree of disorder,and large layer spacing exhibits high capacity of 401.7 mAh g^(−1)at a current density of 0.05 A g^(−1),and more importantly,good rate performance,for example,even at the current density of 2 A g^(−1),a specific capacity of 159.5 mAh g^(−1)can be *** findings make plant-based hard carbon a promising candidate for commercial application of sodium-ion batteries,achieving high-rate performance with the enhanced pre-cross-linking interaction between plant precursors and dopants to optimize aromatization process by auxiliary pyrolysis.

Electrocatalytic water splitting coupled with sustainable energies is identified as an environmentally friendly and renewable strategy to generate high-quality hydrogen for the fuel ***,the main challenge is to develop high performance,low cost and chemically stable electrocatalysts to decline the energy barriers and enhance the sluggish kinetics of hydrogen evolution reaction(HER).Herein,a three-dimensional hierarchically ordered macroporous Ru-CoP@NC electrocatalyst(3DOM Ru-CoP@NC)derived from ordered macro-microporous metal-organic frameworks has been prepared using the precursor@template and double-solvent *** prepared 3DOM Ru-CoP@NC catalyst exhibits an overpotential of 15 mV(j=10 mA·cm^(-2))and a reaction Tafel slope of 38 mV·dec^(-1)in alkaline electrolyte,which are superior to commercial Pt@C ***,the overpotential and reaction Tafel slope of this catalyst in acidic media are 45 mV and 50 mV·dec^(-1),*** outstanding HER activities of 3DOM Ru-CoP@NC catalysts are ascribed to the 3D highly interconnectedreticular nanospaces that can increase effective reaction active *** N dope d carbon framework improves the electronic properties and ***,the strong interaction of Ru and CoP nanoparticles also boosts the HER *** results indicate that 3DOM Ru-CoP@NC catalysts with high catalytic activities have a broad application prospect in the future.

Impact of nutritional support on immunity,nutrition,inflammation,and outcomes in elderly gastric cancer patients after surgery

BACKGROUND Postoperative rehabilitation of elderly patients with gastric cancer has always been the focus of clinical *** the intervention by a full-course nutritional support team can have a positive impact on the postoperative immune function,nutritional status,inflammatory response,and clinical outcomes of this special population has not yet been fully *** To evaluate the impact of full-course nutritional support on postoperative comprehensive symptoms in elderly patients with gastric *** This is a retrospective study,including 60 elderly gastric cancer patients aged 70 years and above,divided into a nutritional support group and a control *** nutritional support group received full postoperative nutritional support,including individualized meal formulation,and intravenous and parenteral nutrition supplementation,and was regularly evaluated and adjusted by a professional nutrition *** control group received routine postoperative *** After intervention,the proportion of CD4+lymphocytes(25.3%±3.1%vs 21.8%±2.9%,P<0.05)and the level of immunoglobulin G(12.5 G/L±2.3 G/L vs 10.2 G/L±1.8 G/L,P<0.01)were significantly higher in the nutritional support group than in the control group;the changes in body weight(-0.5 kg±0.8 kg vs-1.8 kg±0.9 kg,P<0.05)and body mass index(-0.2±0.3 vs-0.7±0.4,P<0.05)were less significant in the nutritional support group than in the control group;and the level of C-reactive protein(1.2 mg/L±0.4 mg/L vs 2.5 mg/L±0.6 mg/L,P<0.01)and WBC count(7.2×10^(9)/L±1.5×10^(9)/L vs 9.8×10^(9)/L±2.0×10^(9)/L,P<0.01)were significantly lower in the nutritional support group than in the control *** addition,patients in the nutritional support group had a shorter hospital stay(10.3 d±2.1 d vs 14.8 d±3.6 d,P<0.05)and lower incidence of infection(15%vs 35%,P<0.05)in those of the control *** The intervention by the nutritional support team has a positive impact on postoperative immune function,

Effect of Down-regulation of MMP-2 by Quercetin on the Migration and Invasion of Uterine Fibroids Cells through the cAMP Signaling Pathway

Objective: To investigate the effect of down-regulation of matrix metalloproteinase-2(MMP-2) by down-regulating the cyclic adenosine monophosphate(cAMP) signaling pathway on the migration and invasion of uterine fibroids ***: A total of 65 female SD rats were randomly divided into five groups after being adaptively fed for 7 d. Except for the blank group, the remaining four groups of rats were injected with 0.05 mg/(100 g·d) estradiol benzoate and 0.5 mg/(100g·d) progesterone into the muscle to establish a uterine fibroids rat model. After successful modeling, the blank group and model group were given 200 mg/(kg·d) physiological saline by gavage,the low-dose group was given 100 mg/(kg·d) mifepristone by gavage, the medium-dose group was given 200 mg/(kg·d) mifepristone by gavage, and the high-dose group was given 300 mg/(kg·d) mifepristone by gavage. After continuous gavage treatment for 21 d,serum and uterine tissues were collected from rats to observe and compare the expression levels of MMP-2 mRNA, TIMP-2 mRNA, estradiol(E2), cAMP signaling pathway related proteins, and the migration and invasive ability of uterine fibroids cells in the five groups of rats. Results: The expression levels of MMP-2 mRNA and E2in the high-dose group were lower than those in the low-dose group and the medium-dose group, and the expression level of TIMP-2 mRNA was higher than that in the low-dose group and the medium-dose group(P<0.05). The number of cell migration in a single visual field of rats in the high-dose group was lower than that in the low-dose group and the medium-dose group(P<0.05). The number of cell invasion in a single visual field of rats in the high-dose group was lower than that in the low-dose group and the medium-dose group(P<0.05). The mRNA expression levels of cAMP, PDE and PK in the high-dose group were higher than those in the low-dose group, and the mRNA expression levels of AC in the high-dose group were lower than those in the low-dose group(P<0.
