Dams are often operated in a way to discharge over the spillways,which would cause a high dissolved concentration of air and be harmful to *** bubble transfer and the water surface transfer play an important role in affecting the concentration of the Total Dissolved Gas（TDG）.Based on recent numerical simulations of the total dissolved gas saturation,in this article,a two-phase TDG transport equation is adopted to develop an unsteady three-dimensional（3-D） two-phase flow Computational Fluid Dynamics（CFD） model,including a number of parameters such as water depth,pressure and air volume *** model is used to predict the hydrodynamics and the TDG distribution under unsteady discharge *** agreement between measured and numerical results is obtained for a case study.

This paper introduces the finding of some chaotic attractors in a kind of n-dimensional autonomous hybrid system, which is realized via applying some discontinuous state feedback to a kind of n linear differential system. And a constructive theorem is proposed for generalized synchronization related to the above chaotic hybrid systems. Examples are presented for illustrating the methods.

Alphaviruses,which contain a variety of mosquito-borne pathogens,are important pathogens of emerging/reemerging infectious diseases and potential biological ***,no specific antiviral drugs are available for the treatment of alphaviruses *** most highly pathogenic alphaviruses are classified as risk group-3 agents,the requirement of biosafety level 3(BSL-3)facilities limits the live virus-based antiviral *** facilitate the antiviral development of alphaviruses,we developed a high throughput screening(HTS)platform based on a recombinant Semliki Forest virus(SFV)which can be manipulated in BSL-2 *** the reverse genetics approach,the recombinant SFV and SFV reporter virus expressing eGFP(SFV-eGFP)were successfully *** SFV-eGFP reporter virus exhibited robust eGFP expression and remained relatively stable after four passages in BHK-21 *** a broad-spectrum alphavirus inhibitor ribavirin,we demonstrated that the SFV-eGFP can be used as an effective tool for antiviral *** SFV-eGFP reporter virus-based HTS assay in a 96-well format was then established and optimized with a robust Z0 score.A section of reference compounds that inhibit highly pathogenic alphaviruses were used to validate that the SFV-eGFP reporter virus-based HTS assay enables rapid screening of potent broad-spectrum inhibitors of *** assay provides a safe and convenient platform for antiviral study of alphaviruses.

Marjolin's ulcer (MU)is a rare but aggressive epidermoid carcinoma observed in scars or *** article provides comprehensive characteristics and prognostic details of MU. Clinical data of 40patients with MU between January 2010 and December 2017 were analyzed *** cell carcinoma was the most common pathological type (35/40,87.5%). Extended resection was performed to treat all cases with skin grafting or flap ***-up duration ranged from 6 to 96 months (median,52 months)and recurrence was noted in 9 *** 1-,3-and 5-year recurrence-free survival (RFS)rates were 87.2%,87.2%,83.2%respectively and the recurrence rate was 22.5%.Univariate analysis revealed that cause of scars (P=0.044),lesion appearance (P=0.036),ultraviolet radiation exposure (P=0.000),depth (P=0.001)and histological grade (P=0.027)had a statistically significant correlation with prognosis of *** analysis revealed that depth (P=0.034,RR=2,681,95%CI:1.077-6.674)and histological grade (P=0.008,RR=2.820,95%CI:1.3156.050)were independent prognostic factors for *** conclusion,superficial infiltration and high-grade differentiation predict more favorable prognosis. Careful follow-up of high-risk groups is strongly recommended to prevent recurrence and improve prognosis.

Dear Editor,Coronavirus disease 2019(COVID-19),caused by severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2(SARS-CoV-2),has spread rapidly and developed into a global pandemic since its outbreak in December ***,there is no antiviral treatment available for human *** compounds,such as remdesivir and chloroquine,have been reported to inhibit SARS-CoV-2 replication effectively in vitro,but for most of them,the in vivo efficacies against SARS-CoV-2 are still under clinical studies,and for chloroquine,a drug with prominent in vitro antiviral activity,it has been found no beneficial effect for COVID-19 patients in the recent largest *** is thus urgent to speed up large-scale screening to discover drug candidates to treat COVID-19.

The lung is the prophylaxis target against SARS-CoV-2 infection,and neutralizing antibodies are a leading class of biological products against various infectious viral *** this study,we develop a safe and cost-effective platform to express neutralizing antibody in the lung with replicating mRNA basing on alphavirus replicon particle(VRP)delivery system,to prevent SARS-CoV-2 ***,a modified VEEV replicon with two subgenomic(sg)promoters was engineered to translate the light and heavy chains of antibody simultaneously,for expression and assembly of neutralizing anti-SARS-CoV-2 antibody ***,the feasibility and protective efficacy of replicating mRNA against SARS-CoV-2 infection were demonstrated through both in vitro and in vivo *** lung target delivery with the help of VRP system resulted in efficiently block SARS-CoV-2 infection with reducing viral titer and less tissue damage in the lung of ***,our data suggests that expressing neutralizing antibodies in the lungs with the help of self-replicating mRNA could potentially be a promising prophylaxis approach against SARS-CoV-2 infection.

Dear Editor,Omsk hemorrhagic fever virus(OHFV)belongs to the tickborne virus group within Flavivirus,in Flaviviridae family(Holbrook et al.2005)which consists of several important human pathogens including tick-borne encephalitis virus(TBEV),Powassan virus(POWV),Louping ill virus(liV),Langat virus(LGTV)and Kyasnaur Forest disease virus(KFDV)(Yoshii and Holbrook 2009).OHFV is an enveloped virus containing a single-stranded positive-sense RNA genome of approximately 11,000 *** genome has a single open reading frame,which encodes three structural proteins[capsid(C),pre-membrane(prM)or membrane(M),and envelop(E)]and seven non-structural proteins(NS1,NS2a,NS2b,NS3,NS4a,NS4b and NS5)between the 5'untranslated region(UTR)and 3'UTR(Chambers et al.1990).

Mechanism underlying blockade of voltage-gated calcium channels by agmatine in cultured rat hippocampal neurons

AIM: To investigate whether agmatine could selectively block a given type of the voltage-gated calcium channels (VGCC) and whether related receptors are involved in the blocking effect of agmatine on VGCC. METHODS: The whole-cell patch recording technique was performed to record VGCC currents in the cultured neonatal rat hippo- campal neurons. RESULTS: Verapamil (100 μmol/L), a selective blocker of L-type calcium channel, significantly inhibited VGCC current by 80 %± 7 %. Agmatine (100 μmol/L) could further depress the remained currents by 25 %±6 %. The α2-adrenoceptor antagonist yohimbine (10 μmol/L) and the I2 imidazoline receptor antagonist idazoxon (10 and 40 μmol/L) had no significant effect on VGCC currents when used respectively. When the mixture of yohimbine and agmatine was applied, VGCC currents were still depressed remarkably. However, the blocking effect of agmatine was decreased by 29 %± 8 % in the presence of idazoxon (10 μmol/L). The effect of idazoxon did not increase at a higher concentration (40 μmol/L). CONCLUSION: Agmatine could block the L- and other types of VGCC currents in the cultured rat hippocampal neurons. Blocking effect of agmatine on VGCC was partially related to I2 imidazoline receptor and had no relationship with α2-adrenoceptors.
