Species of the ciliate genera Myxophyllum and Conchophthirus are found as endocommensals of terrestrial and freshwater mollusks,*** far,there have been few studies of these genera and morphological data for most members are often *** the present work,two new species,Myxophyllum weishanense *** Conchophthirus paracurtus ***.,and a known species,Conchophthirus lamellidens,were isolated from hosts in Lake Weishan Wetland,*** studies indicate that *** *** be recognized mainly by the combination of about 60 somatic kineties on both ventral and dorsal sides and the presence of caudal *** paracurtus *** from congeners in its body shape and size,having a glabrous area on the posterior right side,and having fewer somatic *** addition,differences in their ITS2(Internally Transcribed Spacer 2)secondary structures support the discrimination of the two new species from their highly similar *** improved diagnosis for the poorly known species,***-lidens is also *** analyses reveal that members of the genus Myxophyllum belong to a fully supported clade that is sister to a large,poorly supported clade consisting of Hemispeiridae,Ancistridae,and several lineages of the nonmonophyletic *** Myxophyllum clade also includes Protophyra ovicola JQ956552,a possible *** of the two new Conchophthirus species cluster with other congeners in a fully supported clade that is unrelated to either the‘typical’thigmotrichs or to pleuronematids,thus conflicting with the traditional classification,and may represent an orphan scuticociliate lineage.

Ciliates of the heterotrich family Folliculinidae are widespread in various habitats and are distinguished by their transparent loricae of various shapes,conspicuous peristomial lobes,and dimorphic life *** usually attach firmly to the surface of substrates,feed on bacteria and microalgae,and play a significant role in energy flow and material cycling in the microbial food ***,little is known regarding their biodiversity and *** this work,we establish the terminology of the family Folliculinidae and select six crucial features for genus *** on previous studies,we revise the classification of Folliculinidae,supply improved diagnoses for each of the 33 folliculinid genera,and provide a key to their ***,phylogenetic analyses based on small subunit ribosomal DNA(SSU rDNA)sequences revealed that the family is monophyletic and comprises two subclades(subclades I II)which can be identified by the flexibility of their peristomial lobes and the sculpturing of their ***,we investigate the evolutionary relationships of folliculinids using the six chosen generic features.

为开发刺松藻应用潜力,采用纤维素酶酶解法提取刺松藻中可溶性蛋白。在单因素试验基础上,通过正交试验对提取工艺进行优化设计。结果表明,纤维素酶添加量为13%,酶解温度45℃,初始pH值6.0,酶解时间90 min时,提取液中蛋白质量浓度最高,为0.618 g/L,可为刺松藻作为食品原料进一步深加工提供参考。

A new contribution to the taxonomy and phylogeny of the ciliate genus Spirostomum(Alveolata,Ciliophora,Heterotrichea),with comprehensive descriptions of two species from wetlands in China

Species of the ciliate genus Spirostomum Ehrenberg,1834 are distributed worldwide and have a research history spanning more than two ***,species delimitation and phylogenetic relationships within this genus are still uncertain due to the paucity of stable morphologic characters for species separation and the unavailability of accompanying morphological data for most molecular sequences in public *** the present study,*** Shigenaka,1959(three populations)and ***(Müller,1786)Delphy,1939(one population)were investigated using morphological and molecular methods for the first time in *** morphological data for the two species were documented,and improved diagnoses were supplied based on a combination of previous studies and the current *** should be highlighted that there were three different atypical morphotypes identified in a Ningbo population of *** which may represent various stages in conjugative *** phylogenies based on 18S,ITS1-5.8S-ITS2,and 28S rRNA gene sequences show that the genus Spirostomum is monophyletic,however,the internal relationships inferred from different genes were poorly resolved but suggest that the species with a moniliform macronucleus comprise an early-diverging clade within this ***,the global distribution of Spirostomum is summarized based on previous and present studies.

Morphology and SSU rD NA Sequence Analysis of Two Hypotrichous Ciliates(Protozoa, Ciliophora, Hypotrichia) Including the New Species Metaurostylopsis parastruederkypkeae ***.

The morphology and phylogeny of two hypotrichous ciliates, Metaurostylopsis parastruederkypkeae n. sp. and Neourostylopsis flavicana(Wang et al., 2011) chen et al., 2013 were investigated based on morphology, infraciliature and the small subunit(SSU) ribosomal RNA gene(r RNA) sequence. The new species, M. parastruederkypkeae n. sp. was identified according to its characteristics: body shape ellipsoidal, size about(165–200) ×(45–60) μm in vivo, cell color reddish; two types of cortical granules including wheat grain-like and yellow-greenish larger ones along the marginal cirri rows and dorsal kineties and dot-like and reddish smaller ones, grouped around marginal cirri on ventral side and arranged in short lines on dorsal side; 26–41 adoral membranelles; three frontal and one parabuccal, five to seven frontoterminal, one buccal, and three to six transverse cirri; seven to thirteen midventral pairs; five to nine unpaired ventral cirri, five to seven left and three to five right marginal rows; and three complete dorsal kineties. Phylogenetic analysis based on SSU r DNA sequences showed that both Metaurostylopsis and Neourostylopsis are monophyletic. As the internal relationship between and within both genera are not clear, further studies on the species in these two genera are necessary. The key characteristics of all known twelve Metaurostylopsis-Apourostylopsis-Neourostylopsis species complex were updated.

Taxonomic Studies on a New Marine Ciliate, Apocoleps magnus gen. nov., spec. nov. (Ciliophora, Colepidae), Isolated from Qingdao, China

The morphology and infraciliature of a new marine colepid ciliate, Apocoleps magnus gen. nov., spec. nov., are described based on living observations and silver impregnations. The new genus Apocoleps is characterized by having 8 (vs. 6 in most other related genera) armour tiers, spines at both ends of the cell, 3 adoral organelles and plates with 4 reniform uni-windows. Apocoleps magnus spec. nov. is defined by the following features: body elongated and slightly curved, about 100–120μm× 35–45 μm in vivo; anterior tertiary tier plate with four uni-windows, most secondary and main tier plates with four uni-windows, posterior tertiary tier plate with two uni-windows; left plate margin slightly serrated; on average 23 transverse and 22 longitudinal ciliary rows; one terminal contractile vacuole; marine habitat.

Heterotrichous ciliates play an important role in aquatic ecosystem energy flow processes and many are model organisms for research in cytology,regenerative biology,and *** the present study,we combine both morphological and molecular data to infer phylogenetic relationships at family-genus level and propose new evolutionary hypotheses for the class *** main results include:(1)96 new ribosomal DNA sequences from 36 populations,representing eight families and 13 genera,including three poorly annotated genera,Folliculinopsis,Ampullofolliculina and Linostomella;(2)the earliest-branching families are Spirostomidae in single-gene trees and Peritromidae in the concatenated tree,but the family Peritromidae probably represents the basal lineage based on its possession of many"primitive"morphological characters;(3)some findings in molecular trees are not supported by morphological evidence,such as the family Blepharismidae is one of the most recent branches and the relationship between Fabreidae and Folliculinidae is very close;(4)the systematic positions of Condylostomatidae,Climacostomidae,and Gruberiidae remain uncertain based either on morphological or molecular data;and(5)the monophyly of each genus included in the present study is supported by the molecular phylogenetic trees,except for Blepharisma in the SSU r DNA tree and Folliculina in the ITS1-5.8 S-ITS2 tree.
